Delicious and authentic Italian food, beautiful decor and friendly staff. What more can you ask for? First time visiting Burlington (and Vermont) and we initially wanted to dine at Olive Garden. There was an hour wait so we searched for another Italian restaurant and what luck to have found this gem! Everything is freshly made and delicious, and the service is excellent! Will definitely come back!

Dined outside after a long trip. It was very relaxing. And delicious.

The food was ok. Portions were very generous given the price point. If you are willing to spend a little extra you can eat better elsewhere. No regrets on going but won’t be back.

Update: Now 5 stars after good service, and excellent meal with generous serving. Good authentic Italian food served in an open and cheerful room. Service is top notch and friendly. Several traditional and unique selections of pasta dishes. One suggestion: clean grease spilling from kitchen on side sidewalk and parking lot. It gives a bad first impression.

I was on a camping trip and had no idea I had chosen a dinner destination this nice!! I felt under dressed, but our waiter was very good, nice, and the food and wine were amazing!! Thank you for not judging us by our appearance! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

We had a great dinner at Pulcinellla's while in Burlington to visit UVM. We were staying next door at the Holiday Inn Express and walked over to have dinner. We we all had great meals. We had Salmon, Pesto Ravioli, and Pasta. The Risotto was great also. Our son got the Cherry pie for dessert and he said it was the best. We split a great bottle of wine that was very reasonably priced. I had a nice Local Vermont beer. If you are visiting Burlington I would highly recommend this restaurant. It was all delicious.

Excellent chicken parmigiana…. Washed down by a couple of local switchbacks…in lieu of my standard Pinot Noir. Service was spot on…considering this Tennessean was running on empty, covering 1300 miles on 4 protein shakes and a piece of chicken.

Our server was delightful but food less so. My braciole consisted of lumpy stew like beef with bread chunks. The patate fritte (French fries) were limp and soft. It’s been years since I ate at Pulcinella and the quality of food was distinctly better then.

I usually enjoy eating here. Food is good and freshly made. Atmosphere is nice, with sort of a traditional, family style Italian restaurant vibe - subdued lighting, dark wood, cozy seating areas. Unfortunately the last time I visited I felt like an intruder because the host/waiter (who was busy chatting and laughing with other waitstaff) greeted me by saying “What do YOU want?” I sure wasn’t a welcoming experience.

The $32 ribeye steak I had was quite enjoyable, and I would rate it an 8 out of 10. For the price, it was an excellent value. The sides that accompanied the steak were a delightful addition and significantly enhanced the overall experience, elevating my rating from a 7 to an 8. The meat was tender yet retained its robust flavor exceptionally well, absorbing the accompanying butter like a sponge. I would highly recommend this dish to others, especially considering its reasonable price.

A favorite is the Paglia e Fiena. The mushroom risotto is also a great dish to share. The flavors are wonderful

I was staying in the Holiday Inn next door and dropped in for dinner. The restaurant has a warm inviting atmosphere. Several locals were at the bar chatting it up with the bar tender. I ordered the lasagna. I was served up some tasty bread with dipping oil. The lasagna portion was very generous. The meats were somewhat bland to my palette. But overall tasty.

Food is to die for. The meatballs, pizza, burger, and pasta dishes are delicious. I especially commend Pulcinella's for the quality of their locally sourced beef. Now for the reason I can't give 5 stars: The calamari is soggy. Should be fried at a higher temp. Pulcinella's rum and Cokes are terrible. Please stop watering down your coke. Increase the amount of syrup in your mixture. Also, clean your beer lines. Had the Peroni and some IPA. Both tasted of a foul sourness indicative of dirty keg lines. I've had lots of Peroni and enjoy it very much. This was the worst I've ever had. Clean your lines and taps. I come to South Burlington for work and stay at the Holiday Inn Express. I'll be dining here bi-weekly-ish for the foreseeable future. Fix these things and I'll gladly amend and add two stars to my review.

Have eaten here about 8 times over the past year (see previous reviews). Have had good experiences overall, however this last experience was not good. Salads were good as usual. Only wish they wouldn’t drown the Caesar salad in grated Parmesan. Fresh shaved Parmesan is much more appealing. The pizza was not as good as previously experienced…inconsistent…new chef? Full of bubbles and way too many onions. Waiter was clearly inexperienced and very slow. Kept us waiting on numerous times for refills on wine…slow on clearing table. The owner stepped in to assist when we sat there waiting and offered no apologies. Thinking it’s time to explore other options. Oh…and the bathroom was filthy…gross

We arrived around 8 pm and we had no reservation (we didn't know what was needed since we are visiting the city) but the staff did everything possible to seat us at a table. We had to wait a bit. The waitress we had was very nice! I try to serve us in our language for our comfort ❤️ Very delicious food and very well served! Huge dishes! Very good prices.

While the sauce of the linguine pescatore was delicious, the mussels and clams themselves could have been better with a little bit of seasoning. The tiramisu was lovely. The serving sizes are good and the prices are reasonable. Service was excellent.

This restaurant has a wide selection of authentic Italian cuisine. It is vegetarian friendly, and their portion sizes are pretty large so you will have leftovers to take home. It's a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing with your family, or a few friends. The mixed drinks we had weren't mixed correctly, which was unfortunate, but we loved our food.

What a nice surprise. My Dad and I were driving through and staying local. We were in between a few places but so happy we decided to come here. Ambiance was super comfortable with great energy. Staff (and owner) were friendly and the food was top notch!!! Best Italian food we have had in many years. Seafood was super Fresh, meatballs were spot on (not too soft but not too hard), veal parm melted in mouth and sauce was perfectly balanced. This is a must go.

Went in there from my hotel next door and they told me they didn't have a table for over an hour when I saw at least 6 open tables, asked for a bar seat and they said the bar was full when I was looking right at a empty stool with nothing in front of it!!!!?, I have too recant my first review, the owners are the nicest people I've ever met, the best calamari I have ever had throughout this United States and I travel all throughout the United States, I apologize to the owners for my review because they responded to me on Facebook and I'll be the first one to admit when I'm wrong I admit that I'm wrong. Enjoyed our ravioli for dinner. The service was very good and enjoyed sitting near a warm fire in the fireplace.

Dined at Pulcinella"s when they were located in the Blue Mall. We were pleased. Tried their new location the other night and could not have been more disappointed. My chicken parm was both tough and rubbery. We sent it back with our complaint, but by the time a second dish was delivered to us, it was time to leave. We boxed it and brought it home. Just for the heck of it, I warmed it up to try it. Nothing had changed: tough and chewy. Twice on the same dish? Not a good look.

I’m a regular “take away” diner - and the service here combined with the delicious food was excellent. The lady who took my order and answered some of my portion and preparation questions was outstandingly polite and very knowledgeable. I got the mushroom risotto and meatballs as well as salmon and the side of the plain risotto. Everything was cooked well, the mushroom risotto was my favorite; creamy sauce and tender risotto. Very happy. Great quality and portions for decent prices! My only regret was I didn’t get dessert! When I picked up the food - the atmosphere was nice, and everyone was friendly.

Visited family in the area. First visit to this restaurant. Menu had so many great dishes, it was hard to decide. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli with sage butter sauce, pignoli and a cranberry compote. I told our server (Lex?), it was possibly the best ravioli I ever had.

Service was attentive but food was extremely slow in appearing and when it did finally come about an hour after ordering it was very disappointing. Bolognaise sauce was very gritty and lasagne stodgy. Portions were ridiculously big . Felt should have focussed on quality not quantity. My party all left most of the food served on their plates so therefore not good value. Distinctly average and would not choose to eat here again. Shame as location next to hotel was good. When we arrived the hostess let is know there was a wait (about 45 min), but there were 2 seats at the bar. We said we would wait. She did not appear happy. We asked her where we could sit down & wait, she said there were two seats at the bar. Needless to say we stood & waited. It was only 15 minutes. Our waitress was spectacular. She helped the recommendations & pairing. She even found us some tiramisu when she found out we were celebrating our 15 year Wedding Anniversary. The service would have been 5 stars if not for the hostess. Food- bread was great and calamari was fantastic. For dinner we had chicken side, spaghetti, Dad's meatballs & cheese ravioli. We were disappointed by the entrees, maybe because I grew up in an Italian family.

After a somewhat awkward beginning, our experience was really quite nice. The restaurant is a casual dining establishment with a lovely patio area and a large bar in the main dining area. We stopped in on a Monday night, without a reservation, which seemed to cause some consternation to the host despite a number of empty tables in the main area. We were promptly seated in a back dining area where we were the only patrons in a room with about 8 tables and where our table was directly below an air conditioner pouring down Arctic air. When our server arrived we requested a move to avoid freezing. She was lovely and accommodated us in the main dining room almost immediately. Once there things improved dramatically. Both the food and service was top notch. We both ordered the clam chowder which was brimming with clams and perfectly seasoned. Warm, crusty bread with olive oil and roasted garlic was brought to the table with our drinks. My husband was delighted with his fettuccine bolognese. I had the fettuccine villa Tragara, an absolutely delicious combination of crabmeat in a brandy tomato cream sauce. Portions of each dish were generous enough that we skipped desert and still had enough for lunch the next day. Our server was fantastic, taking care of our every need without being intrusive. We would definitely recommend a visit.

We met friends here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! Ate here almost 2 years ago and had an awful experience. Waitress was excellent and very attentive. Good sized portions and very tasty at reasonable prices! Caesar salad was not the greatest, but I am a snob when it comes to Caesar salad….otherwise, all the other food was great! Place looked much cleaner than before…however, they really need to renovate as things haven’t changed much in 25 years when it was the Lakeview.

It all started when we were told we entered through the wrong door! The table we were given was more than enough for only 2 people. Heard and read good things so we've been meaning to try this place. Decided to take my daughter out for a farewell dinner before she heads back to college. The food was barely edible, we took most of it home and ended up throwing it away. The basic red sauce is decent but everything was swimming in it like a tomato soup. The chicken parm was one of the toughest pieces of meat I've ever cut into. Dry and tough at the same time. My daughters dish has so much thickly sliced "prosciutto" that it became an inedible salt bomb. It was also missing some of the listed ingredients. Only plus is the cannolis were pretty good. Took my (adult) son there for b'day dinner. We did three courses, splitting appetizer and dessert, and the bill was under $100. Place was super busy, and we were an unexpected addition to waitstaff assignment; Greg was running his tail off but was attentive, efficient, and on the ball despite having such a busy night. We were brought Italian bread & a dish of olive oil with garlic cloves after order was placed. It took approximately 20-25 minutes before meal was brought to table. It came as a wonderful presentation and its was full of flavor. No shortage of crab meat served atop the fettuccine. It was absolutely wonderful, full of flavor and heated to perfection. We were in town for the Antiques Roadshow event and after driving four hours, wanted something close to our hotel. We were fortunate that Pulcinella’s was next door. We didn’t have reservations but the hostess seated us in a nice corner quickly with no problem. Our server, Jake, was very friendly and took our drink orders right away and brought us great warm bread with a wonderful garlic olive oil for dipping. We ordered the calamari to split as an appetizer. Very crisp and tender, with a good marinara sauce as well as sautéed peppers and onions that gave it a nice kick. Really good! I had the veal parmigiana which was the best I have ever had..a HUGE piece of veal, extremely tender with just the right amount of sauce and cheese, accompanied by al dente spaghetti and green beans. It was amazing! Hubby had the chicken parm which he said was awesome - thin chicken breast (as he likes) and also huge portion. We were so full we skipped dessert, which I regret because they had tiramisu on the menu. It’s been awhile since I’ve had such a great Italian dinner out, and Pulcinella’s hit the spot!
