We enjoyed drinks outside. It was very busy, with a long wait to get our drinks but the people were wonderful. Very hard to get, very steep steps and no visible ramp for the disabled. Did not see any Handicapped parking.

This place has everything I love! Incredible wait staff in the dining car - thank you Azalea! Pet-friendly patio and the Beet Salad was so delicious ! Plus trains in a very picturesque woodsy mountainous campground location. Views all around, fresh raspberries and a stream nearby! Loved it!!

We enjoyed our camp site a lot. The restrooms were clean and well kept. The restaurant was great and the service there was great as well. However, they didn’t let us know a gratuity was included in the meal before we dined. Not a big deal, and they deserve all it, but keep that in mind, because we almost paid 40% gratuity with that included gratuity before we noticed. They also do not split checks so I recommend bringing cash if you’re needing to split the bill amongst yourselves. The gift shop was disappointing, but only because of the service. They had so much cute stuff and most of it was reasonably priced. We picked a couple of things we liked including a magnet we loved for $14.95. However when the girl scanned it, it rang up as $16.95. I said “hey this says $16.95 but the price on the magnet is $14.95.” She said “it’s $16.95” and I showed her the back of the magnet that she had just scanned with the price showing $14.95. She replied (rudely) “well it’s $16.95. Do you still want it?” I’m sorry, what? I’ve never seen a store that would not honor the price that is advertised. Several of the magnets read $14.95 WITH the UPC that scans the item. Just beware that when you’re seeing a price, it may not be the actual price that rings up. 🙃 *editing from 4 stars to 5 because they responded to the review and offered to make the moment right for us. It was never about the $2, but about the overall attitude/ response from the employee. Thank you RR Park for your willingness to make it right.*

Shhhhhhh! This is a little slice of heaven. We ate at the restaurant and it was delicious. The patio was so cute and they served ice-cold beer and fantastic burgers! Kathleen was a super server and we enjoyed our time there! The historic train in the back is a sight to see as well as the individual train cars that you can stay in at the lodge. We didn't stay, but we will go back to experience that as well. A must-do if you are in the area.

This unique location features historic train cars for guests to stay in as well as a clean, well-maintained campground. The restaurant is a series of dining cars conveniently located on-site. Big trees provide shade and beauty, and you look up to the scenic Castle Crags. It is accessible without the freeway noise. Snow in winter, and sun and swimming pool in summer. A fun resort.

We have stayed here in the past and had a good experience staying in one of the cabooses. This time around we stayed in cabin 3 in order to meet up with my 78 year old mother... She has balance and mobility issues so we specifically chose a cabin over a caboose so that she could get in and out safely. However the ramp had no railing on it and the staircase was not attached on the second step on the left hand side so if you stepped on the right hand side of the step it flipped up. The bathroom door and lock did not work appropriately and swung shut on its own multiple times locking itself from the inside. We ended up propping it up with the garbage can which made it almost impossible to sit on the toilet because it was blocking the way. When we arrived I noticed there were only two bath towels even though there were three of us staying in the unit I looked around for more didn't see any so I went to the office and asked the front desk clerk for more she said oh they should be under the bathroom sink, when it could have been so easy to just give me two more towels I trudged back to the room looked around again didn't see any and then had to walk back to the office again... Little things like this add up when it comes to a customer's experience and whether they would consider coming back again in the future. We have made the decision we will not be coming back, which is truly unfortunate because it is a wonderful location with spectacular views but is very run down and tired.

The refurbished car was super cozy and the bed was extremely comfortable that I slept well the entire night. We had a hard time connecting to the WiFi at first, but the nice and helpful staff told us to connect by their check in location and then it worked great! Honestly I wanted so bad to return all of our food. Only reason was because the waiter was working so hard I felt bad that he was the only one waiting all those tables. Everyones order was completely messed up. Burt toast, over cooked poached eggs, leather chicken fried steak, under fried hashbrowns cold gravy for the bistkets and gravy. Very bad food The fish and chips were a laught, get more fish on a mc donlds sandwich, three fish sticks like a kids meal. So sad that we will not be eating here again. this could of been our spot when we are up this way. Good thing I was with good company. We all really laughted about the whole thing even tho our bill was over $75. got robbed that day for sure. If you are paying for food best thing is to get it your way or not pay at all. Very disappointed in this place. The waiter was trying his best to get to everyone but there really should of been another two people helping cook and wait the tables and bar tend...

This is a truly fun experience! A great form of glamping... Spending the night in a refurbished railroad car! They also have regular camping and RV sites available. The food in the food car is top notch...on the expensive side so you might want to preview the menu before dining so that you can determine how often (during your stay) you would like to dine here. Our waitress was divine. I do want to write about what we ate though. We had prime rib and although it tasted good the au jus was not, nor were the potatoes. The potatoes had huge lumps in them and absolutely no flavor. I'm sorry but the mashed potatoes are literally the easiest thing to make on the planet. The au jus is what brings out the flavor in the prime rib and so that needs to be good even if the prime rib isn't. I also called ahead for a reservation and they said I couldn't make reservation if I didn't have a party of 10 but they had tables of four reserved so riddle me that. Fries were excellent. Waitress was a doll. Seasoning is your friend!

What a FUN place to stay. We had a short overnight stay in Caboose #15 (king bed) and really enjoyed the vintage, yet comfortable, feel of the room. Before dinner at the on site restaurant, we had some bubbly in the gazebo with a crazy good view of sunset over Castle Crags (which we weren't expecting). Dinner really hit the spot - good food, decent prices, excellent live music (acoustic guitar and vocals), and attentive servers. What more could you ask for. Even though the location is only a couple of minutes off of I-5, the road noise was hard to hear most of the time. And there's a creek running along the property to boot. Plus they have some cornhole and other games to play. So much to enjoy in just a few hours.

We ate Father's Day brunch in the dining cars. It was the best buffet we have ever been to and we have been to a lot. Great service! Amazing views and delicious food. They even had a gentleman playing a guitar and singing and he was incredible! After brunch we rode the train and it was delightful. They truly have a little piece of heaven there!!
