I hosted my birthday dinner here & it was such a great experience! From booking through the night of, the team there was so accommodating and kind. I rented the private patio space in the back, which is beautiful and intimate. The food is so good!! It was served family style & drinks are BYOB, so it’s the perfect setup for your guests to engage and have a good time. I brought my own decor, though you don’t need much in the patio because the restaurant itself is beautiful. Of many restaurants I had explored, theirs was the best package. I would 100% host another party there & can’t wait to come back just for dinner soon!

This place is highway robbery. Went for fathers day. 58 bucks for a 12oz steakhouse that wasn’t even that size. not even a full side of rice.They added 20 percent gratuity to a 2 person table. Thieves own this place..Don’t go here unless you want to feel violated after paying 200 bucks for cheap food..Terrible!!

I went out on a date night all the way from New York. I found this place on Google. GOOGLE RATINGS said it was OK but I can’t agree with that. I should had also did my research on YELP. I would had got the heads up and chose a DIFFERENT PLACE to dine at. We just came from the SPA so my girlfriend told the host to seat us somewhere warm. She placed us in the back where it was cold. My girlfriend was expecting Cuban food [ which was not the case ] Wind up ordering jerk chicken, which look like a slice of chicken breast With seasoning on it that was not to her liking. I Originally order Citrus salmon dish on the menu. She ordered the Mango Mustard Glazed Salmon. The waitress came back to inform us that they ran out so we had to pick a substitute. The Sangria was Not to our liking as well. We took a chance and ordered The espresso crème brûlée. It was Awful. The ambience is extremely romantic. The food on the other hand is way different story. I wish them luck. Guarantee, I will not know what will happen to them because I will NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN.

This was such a pleasant surprise and I'm so glad we had my birthday dinner here. We went at 5pm on a Saturday night and it was empty - just my husband and I and two other tables. The food was absolutely delicious with large portions. The fried plantains were the best we ever had. I had the shrimp with coconut sauce entree and mashed yams. My husband had the pulled pork. Both entrees were incredible and we would get them again.

Worst place to eat. The never gave us drink menu or ask if we wanted something to drink they just offered water.. they charge 20% gratuity then they don’t even deserve 10 % .. worst place to eat and worst service for mother day then the place was almost empty.

I had my soon to be daughter laws bridal shower and I was highly disappointed in the way we were mistreated and rushed started at 1pm when the party began the waitress/hostess rushed me the whole 3 hrs I was there I had to rush my guests out because I was told I have to be out the door 4pm sharp with my decorations and everything they threatened we will be charged 300 extra if we weren’t.. horrible way to treat guests we rushed out with everyone 75.00 a person nothing included tablecloth wa drinks all extra there was little food offered it’s a extreme rip off we will be sure to let our family and friends not to use this restaurant!

This restaurant was pretty boring. Music was at such a low volume you couldn't even hear it. The staff was extremely attentive and gracious. However, the food was definitely awful. The salmon was perfectly executed but the white rice was definitely a huge miss. This was not long grain white rice, which is what Latinos eat and this was box rice like uncle Bens. The black beans were poorly made. I grew up on Cuban food. This was atrocious. A huge insult to the Cuban gastronomy.

Somewhat hidden in Edgewater, this cozy little Cuban restaurant provides an atmosphere of elegance and sophistication where customers feel they're entering a home rather than a restaurant. The decor is warm and inviting, and the backyard is closed but well lit. The food portions are small but delicious. However, it's on the expensive side where a paella, for one person, really, is around $30, if I remember correctly. One of the perks is bringing your own wine. The waitress was curtious and knowledgeable. Overall, it was a very pleasant experience and may return to try other dishes.

The spices, the herbs, the food omg it was soooo good! I came here for my bday and they did not upset! Even sang happy bday and gave me a cake. I dream about this food, as I came from out of town and I wish I could visit each week. I cant wait to go back

Im always at Rebecca's. I've probably have tried the whole menu and maybe once it was not the best but hey, any one can have an off day. However, their service and food still gets a 10/10 from me.

My friend and I ordered a few meals to be delivered as neither of us have tried this spot yet. She was not pleased, and I was REALLY not pleased. I ordered a pork and rice dish which is pretty standard for a Cuban restaurant. I eat, sleep, and consume pork most days of the year so I will not accept the excuse of this is how it should be done. The main complaint has to be the portion. For over 20 dollars, this dish was not enough food. I finished it and while the food was tasteless, I was still quite hungry afterwards. If you are going to charge the price of a large pizza or some all you can eat deals, then I better be full afterwards. This was not the case and it did not help that the food had no taste. They need to season their meat more, or throw something in there because it was insultingly bland. I had to throw in some spices in order to bring this bland senior citizen style dish back to life. The pork was also incredibly dry and not moist at all, but it got better. There was WAY too much fat in my dish so in reference to above, do not tell me this is how the pork was supposed to come out. A little bit of fat here and there is alright, but this overtook my dish and there was SO MUCH I had to eat around. I want to see actual pork on my plate, not the pork fat dominating the dish. Yes, fat gives flavor, yes pork has fat, but I did not order straight fat as my entree. This place was an experiment, but I will not be ordering again or dining in based on the experience my friend and I had. Our dinner was not good, and we ended up just getting fast food after which solved our hunger issue for the time being. I would not want to pay 9 dollars for the dish I ordered based on how it came, forget their 20 bucks because that is in another league.

MOUTH WATERING. From the moment you walk in, you are catered to. We made a reservation for 3 and space for a stroller. It was a Wednesday night so it was not too crowded. Once you order food, they are rather quick to bring the food out. That was great because we were starving. We didn’t order drinks because it’s a BYOB. We had our wine ready, BUT they are known to have tasty sangria. This was our 4th time here. The food is just that good. Hands down, they have 1 of the best ROPA VIEJAS I have ever tasted. No need to go to carribean islands. You can find the best of the best here. Their desserts are amazing. Their special coffee is extremely good. I was expecting it to be sweet because of the condensed milk and the whip cream, but it shockingly was not. I usually have coffee with a little bit of brown sugar. This coffee was the perfect dessert to go along with their bread pudding. We were able to share the bread pudding. Perfect for 3. Doable for 4. Depends how much food can still fit in your belly after you have stuffed your face with all the great flavors. In their back open space, they were having a rehearsal dinner. Pretty great sizable place for a gathering of around 15-20 people. On other nights, you can sit in or outdoors. We can’t wait to come back. AGAIN

My husband and I were hoping for a nice, quiet dinner so we decided to come here since we had come here once before for brunch. The food is amazing as always and the attention from the staff is beyond expectations. I definitely recommend this place for brunch or dinner. The only downfall was we were sitting next to a couple who were talking obnoxiously loud and made the dinner a little sour. Every time I heard the woman laugh, I wanted to splash her in the face with my sparkling water. Besides that, I really enjoy coming here and I will be back.

Food was ON POINT. The notable items: chorizo, yucca con mojo, coconut shrimp and the sea bass. There was a party in the back room when i arrived but that didn’t affect the food or service at all. Everyone was extremely welcoming and attentive. I’ll BE BACK 🦾

This is the best Cuban establishment I ever been to. The food is Elite! The ambience is great and the servers are dedicated to make your eating experience a memorable one. I had the churasco with a side order of beef and pork crowue9and they were amazing.

We said paper She then said the prices aren’t updated on the paper Ummmm So she had to leave us to go get the QR code Then dropped check She came back and said do you want me to take it or pay yourself thru code Ummmmm Never telling us 20% tip automatically added She made us ordering appetizers and dinner all at once Saying it is busy Yet she was sitting at the bar most of the night And our food was delivered by two other people Never to return. First and foremost, I’ve been to this restaurant once before and although the food was tasty, every time I’ve tried to rebook, it’s been an issue. 3 months ago I booked online and the restaurant called me saying, “It’s slow tonight so we’re closing the kitchen early so we won’t be able to accommodate your reservation.” I think that type of service is pathetic, because I’ve been a retail manager and although a restaurant is quite different, whenever your business is “slow” you send some of the workers home early, you don’t close up show. Clearly someone doesn’t know how to use the “labor cost x restaurant sales forecasting” method. And then here we are today, my significant other and I trying to give this restaurant another chance, and rebook again, 4.5 hours before our expected arrival, and not even 20 minutes later someone calls saying “The manager just saw your reservation, and he already booked other people.” Needless to say, the manager SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME and spoke directly and apologized for the inconvenience and offered some type of accommodation instead of having someone with broken English tell me that my reservation could not be fulfilled. It’s cool, they don’t have to worry about me anymore. If you want some decent authentic Cuban food, Cuban Pete’s is way better!

Ok the only reason im putting two stars is because of the decoration the places look pretty but everything else was well bellow mediocrity. The sangria was tasteless we had a bottle of Rioja and they “used” the entire bottle but the sangria tasted water down and it barely had any fruits. We order appetizers chorizo was tasteless the guacamole was ok plantain chips where much better. For entry order Ropa vieja witch had no flavor and the beans are not included with your dish witch makes no sense but Ok I added black beans one of the Cuban best know dishes it was tasteless by far one of the worse ever had. Please match your food with the looks the restaurant has potential in a ideal location.

When I write a review I do it for two reasons. The first one is to inform other users and the second is hoping that business owners use the feedback to improve. With that being said, here’s my review of Rebecca’s: The restaurant is in Old River Road. In a small stretch of street occupied by good restaurants like Pa De and Cafe Archetypus. Beautifully decorated with dim lights, low hanging chandeliers, a great mural of Celia Cruz by Bash and soft Salsa music playing in the background, it is the perfect date night setting. Their back patio is beautifully decorated with Instagram worthy lights and looks like it can accommodate 10-15 people for private events. Now to the food: When you go to a Cuban restaurant in Union City, West New York, Jersey City and North Bergen, you expect good food or at least the classics done right. This was not the case. We started with the tasteless chorizo, followed by the self-proclaimed “best bean soup” outside of Miami. It tasted straight out of the can, microwaved and seasoned with salt and pepper. The guacamole was good, the plantain chips were thin and crispy. The empanadas looked double-fried and was made with the same chewy meat (read below). The Churrasco was ordered medium and arrived well done, almost burnt and very tough to bite. Accompanied by a very small side of Moro “dirty rice” that had no flavor. Today’s special was a pepper salmon which was missing its namesake ingredient. The salmon tasted like it was thawed improperly. Soaked. It arrived with an odd side of pico de gallo and mash sweet potatoes that had been left in water for too long and had lost their flavor. The Ropa Vieja was the worst offender. It lacked depth, flavor and was so chewy that my friend needed water to bring it down. Asked for hot sauce to add some flavor and were presented with Cholula (good for eggs) and Yucateco (excellent but overpowering). The paradise sangria mix was just water, sugar and a few tiny chunks of pineapple. We skipped dessert of course. The wait staff noticed how displeased we were with the food and out of an abundance of caution added a 20% tip to a group of three. $250 for burnt Churrasco, frozen salmon and straight-out-of-the-can beans felt like robbery. I hope the restaurant improves the food so that small stretch of Old River Road continues to be a source of good restaurants. PS: Please get a stronger hood vent. Smoke leaked out onto the dining room from the kitchen and the smoke alarm went off a couple of times.

Let me begin by saying that I don’t review restaurants, more so, bad reviews, being that I don’t take pleasure in harming in any way local businesses, but I am so outraged with the waitress/lady answering the phone and her lack of professionalism. I called in letting her known that I had found a hair on the lechon asado, and that she should tell the cook, kitchen staff to be careful with their food so they won’t have another person calling in for hair in their dinner. Simple as that, no screaming or rudeness from my part, although anyone can clearly be upset about not being able to eat their expensive meal. She was very argumentative, rude, sarcastic, stating that there was no woman with black long hair working there, no humility, or apology whatsoever, a simple I’m sorry that you got to experience that and we will take note of it, would have been good for me. The food is probably good and I would have given the place a second chance, given that mistakes happen, but her lack of professionalism is not something I am willing to experience again.

I’m extremely disappointed in my experience at Rebecca’s for my daughter's first birthday party as I had high hopes in everything turning out great. There were so many aspects of things that were discussed that weren’t produced in my event and the customer service from Sonya was terrible!!!! When first viewing the place to rent for my daughter's birthday Sonya was extremely unprofessional discussing how unhappy she was working at Rebecca’s as she received new job duties and that she wasn’t getting paid for the extra work. She talked about her plans to leave and continue about how unhappy she was to work there. Her attitude about her unhappiness of working at Rebecca’s reflected poorly on her customer service the day of my event. When arriving at a restaurant to decorate, things that were discussed before the event wasn’t set up correctly which delay the time of decorating for the event and made it that we were still decorating during the beginning of my event. She had breached the contract that we had. There were 2 packages for drinks of the event the 3$ per person or the 6$ per person. I had picked 3$ per person as I felt it fit better with my event. Sonya never gave my guest any drinks apart from my package. She didn’t offer any drinks to my guest but was charging people for things that weren’t part of my package. She was offering people drinks from 6$ package and charging me per drink that was ordered randomly. This had brought my bill higher than it should’ve been. This is extremely upsetting because not only did the majority of my guests didn’t drink I got to be charged more for drinks when I shouldn’t have. I got less for what I paid for and was SCAMMED! Another issue that I feel was extremely heartbreaking is she didn’t allow my cake to be cut and told me that she won’t be able to cut it because there are only 30 mins left to the event. I was never told a cutoff time to cut the cake or anything. If I was told a time I would’ve worked accordingly to that time which I was never provided. This had ruined my event because who doesn’t cut a cake for a birthday and it’s my daughter's very first birthday. I was so pleased with how the place was decorated and the style of restaurant which had led me to do my daughter's birthday here. I could’ve chosen any place to celebrate her birthday but I chose this place because I had such high hopes as it would be perfect. I did enjoy the food as it was delicious. My major disappointment for my event would have to be the customer service I experienced at this place. Sonya and the other female who worked with her were very rude and unfriendly. Sonya was very unprofessional and unorganized. She is in a role that she can’t handle and it is reflecting so poorly on this restaurant. I will no longer ever come to this restaurant because of this big disappointment of the experience I had. Nor would I recommend this place to anyone as many people who asked me about this place I will no longer recommend because of the service I received. What makes a place is good customer service and this place DOES NOT HAVE THAT!

When to a birthday party there and the service was very bad, didn't like the food either, it was not cooked properly. The employees were very rude. The food portion was very small. When asked for coffee they denied it because there was 30 mins left to closing. They also didnt allow the birthday girl to cut the cake even with more than enough time left to do so. Never again, i don't recommended this place to anyone. Parking is horrible as well. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

The place is amazing, the food was great and Sonia was phenomenal in every way. Had my daughter’s bridal shower on Saturday, everyone loved the food and service. Thank you so much for making it such a wonderful experience

This is definitely a hidden gem in Edgewater. You would never know it's there based on the location and lack of parking. Everything from the appetizers to the entree to the desserts were excellent. The service was great and the ambiance it very unique. Highly recommended!

We dined at Rebecca's for our wedding anniversary this year and we are so glad we did. The food was exceptional! We had the appetizers - chorizo (which was excellent), shrimp (tasty with tostones and a very flavorful salsa, and super fresh guacamole and plantain chips. Then my husband had the mango mustard crusted glazed salmon with dirty rice and a pineapple mango salad which he loved and I had the ropa vieja which was excellent with mashed coconut yams which were to die for! We ended our meals with flan with cappuccino and a guava cheese empanada and cuban coffee.....a great way to end a meal. The restaurant is byob so we brought our favorite prosecco and wine. Best of all the service was excellent. Our server Carlos was friendly and prompt. His recommendations were spot on! Luis came in to assist with our wine and was very professional and courteous. Great teamwork. Both of them even laugh at our jokes! I'm in the food service business and can appreciate when a restaurant's food is great, but when the food, matches the atmosphere and friendly and prompt service, it now becomes an memorable experience. We are glad we found Rebecca's and will be sure to come back!

It was wonderful to return to Rebeccas to celebrate another family event. I celebrated my wedding in 2019 and the experience was amazing. We now picked Rebeccas again to celebrate our daughter’s bridal shower. The place is beautiful, they have recently renovated the restaurant, the staff is excellent and the food is delicious. I recommend this restaurant to dine in and to celebrate any occasion!

Honestly, one of best restaurants in the area. It’s cozy and well decorated. We went for dinner on a Friday at 6pm and were treated to great service and excellent food options. Their dishes have the perfect balance of Caribbean staples with fine dining. The tilapia was soft, tasty, and just cooked right! Oh, this is a a BYOB locale but they have a small wine selection on the menu. We will be returning.

Came here because my family arranged my 30th birthday celebration here and it was amazing. We had a private party of 12 people and in my opinion, they did put us in a very small area which was kind of claustrophobic. Regardless of that, the food was amazing and the waiters were very attentive and accommodating to our party. My sister that organized this event said that the staff helped setting up the private place which I'm glad to hear. I will be back because my family was impressed with the food and that's hard to do 😂

Celebrated my 30th Birthday here Valentine’s weekend. I saw this place on someone’s Instagram story and fell in love with the enclosed garden area at night. Anyways, Christian was so helpful I was so stressed about my guest list but he was very informative and kind. I ended up having to give up sitting in the back b/c of the amount of guests and get a private room instead but it worked out so well! Louis coordinated the private room for me and was helpful as well. The table was beautifully decorated with flowers/rose petals and balloons when I got there and I brought a few of my own. My guests loved it! It’s BYOB and I’m glad we weren’t in the main dining area because we could now really enjoy ourselves. Sonia, our main waitress, was excellent!!!! Everything was effortless and the entire staff were so nice and helpful! Thank you so much! I’d definitely come back, the food was delicious and flavorful and my guests loved the options on the pre-fixe menu! 10/10.

My bridal party surprised me for dinner here for my bachelorette ! We had our own private area which was really nice. The food was PHENOMENAL and the manager was very nice he came over to talk with us and his other guests eating at the restaurant! The flan is heavenly and I am so excited to be going back this Saturday for my 25TH birthday!

I decided to try Rebeccas for my 32nd Birthday celebration. There was some confusion at first with my reservation but after speaking the Luis (manager) he was able to accommodate my party. The service was spectacular and the food was neyond expectation. This place has the feel of home cooked meals that really brings out the culture of cuban food! Great food! Great service! Truly authentic food, the environment is great! The attention to detail is on point. Deff try the flan! Great spot for a date. Management and Servers are always courteous and friendly :) Rebecca never disappointed me

Out of all the restaurants i’ve been too this one is definitely my favorite. The service was amazing, every waitress and waiter there were super friendly and nice. The food was to die for ! The churrasco and jamacian jerk chicken was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be coming back!
