I went half way around the world to end up at redbird. Grilled Prawns. try putting some work in when you make it, small amount on the plate, we were all under feed and had to get some big mac's later. NOT HAPPY for the money we paid. The service was good but the management was treating the staff like dirt. Management would not get away with that in Australia. Atmosphere was bad, the staff walking on a knifes edge, getting told off by customers and management. The table next to us was telling lies just to have fun getting the server told off and a discount on the food. My tip $0, and treat the staff like humans and pay them a better wage, you have the money to do it with your prices for 2nd rate food and the small amount you get. Spent 2 weeks in the USA and this was the biggest dump we ate at.

Love the open air feel of the space with the high ceilings. The roof was opened up during the morning brunch which just enhanced the feel of the room. The staff here worked together in a seamless way to take orders, deliver food and beverages and keep waterglasses full. We were seated quickly in the main dining room at the time of our reservation. The brunch cocktails were excellent, really nicely balanced mixology that felt refreshing and light. The Redeye, Good Morning Vietnam, and Nogada were all delicious. The food here was phenomenal. We ordered the BLD Ricotta Blueberry Pancakes and a side of Applewood Smoked Bacon to share and then each had an entree (Short Rib Hash, Duck Confit Chilaquiles, and Frittata). All of the main dishes were excellent, the bacon could have been a little crispier (we asked for it to come out crispy and it was maybe 60% there) but was still high quality excellent bacon. We each shared tastes of the entrees and all of them were delicious, hearty, and perfectly flavored. A wonderful brunch spot; would love to come back for dinner!

It's a nice spot in DTLA that I went to for Dine LA. I've been curious about this place for a while, so I went with great company to check this place out! The environment is moody, and going on a Tuesday night was still lively, but not super busy. There are big windows in every room, and the main room has a gorgeous open space with a greenhouse glass roof. It was full when we came for dinner, so we were seated in another room, so I'd recommend getting a reservation for that area ahead of time. It was still very nice, and the service was attentive! We tried (from the Dine LA menu) Melon Gazpacho, Buratta salad, Carbonara, the Hanger Steak, Earl Grey pannacotta, and Chocolate Tart We also added an additonal cocktail drink, Paloma, and the Spicy Shishito Peppers appetizer! The melon gazpacho was light and a little sweet. Since it was a cold soup, it was refreshing and found it as a great pair with the spicy shishito peppers, which weren't very spicy and were even a little salty at times. The peppers come with ALOT of one bite peppers that's easy to share and bite on while having your other appetizers. I enjoy a good burrata and never had it in a salad - now that I've had that, consider me a fan. It was light, crunchy, and tart, and I enjoyed it a lot! We had the Garganelli Carbonara and Hangar steak main course: the carbonara was fine, and the pasta was the short twist kind, which absorbs the flavors well, but not the most flavorful carbonara I've had, but was a good amount. The Hangar steak was sliced steak covered with corn on top of a red sauce. It was also good, though I tasted a super smoky taste that wasn't something I was used to. The desserts are very rich, especially the chocolate tart, which is more like a fancy resses cup with a peanut butter creme and caramel whip topping. The Earl grey Panna cotta was very subtle, as I could only taste a milky flavor and hardly any Earl grey, which was a little disappointing. But the texture was good and creamy, and all the little garnishes and stone fruit made it a lovely dessert! They have a happy hour menu, which I believe is only available at the bar, with decent prices for drinks and some bites. The Paloma was sweet and easy, so I think their drinks and signature cocktails would be great. Their signature cocktails have names like Peach, Grapefruit, Cherry, and Strawberry, so that leaves me very curious to come back and try them some time (those are not on the happy hour menu). There is street metered parking (which may be hard to find weekend nights) as well as valet parking up front. Overall, I'd like to come here again mainly for drinks and appetizers! Any maybe an opportunity to go into the window roof room to enjoy the ambiance and people chattering away in the night, would be a plus. Its pricepoint makes sense, and I'd come back for dinner on a special occasion. Very trendy, classy place that's impressed me with its appetizers and ambiance!

Stunning, one of its kind location. Unfortunately, both food and drinks were overpriced for what they are. Food was okay (except for the Carbonara, which sounded fantastic but was awful), but really nothing memorable enough that would justify the price point of this place.

Visited here before the pandemic and had an amazing experience but it’s definitely changed for the worse. Due to some confusion it took us 30+ minutes to get our order taken on a slow Sunday evening—the server was kind and apologetic but it really dampened the evening. The food was just okay, we had two pasta dishes, the New York strip, a burrata salad, potatoes, the parker rolls, and several $18 cocktails. Nothing was bad but nothing stood out, to the point that I can barely remember the dishes we had just a few days later. While the space—inside a former Catholic rectory—is still beautiful, the overall dining experience wasn’t commensurate with this price point. It feels like the owners of Redbird have shifted focus to more profitable events and are no longer putting much care into the dining experience for everyday guests.

I had high hopes for this place due to the great reviews. We went here for brunch and had the assorted morning pastries, duck chilaquiles, waffles, and Basque eggs. The best thing we ordered was the chilaquiles which was good not great. The pastries were mediocre and tasted like they were not freshly baked. The waffles were overly sweet and almost had a pancake-like batter texture. The basque eggs were underwhelming. The cocktails and ambience are great! The food is not worth the price but I think you are paying for the location in a place like this. There is better food in L.A.

The food was awesome and the amount was great too. To get in the restaurant there is somebody standing in front and the walk from the entrance to the restaurant is short but cool. Every dish was fabulous, but I really enjoyed the meet. I had chicken, beef and pork but they were all fabulous. I think it was the pork, but the mash potatoes went really well either way the meet, as well. The desert was small but packed a punch and it tasted wonderful. I suggest having coffee with your dessert 👍

The servers look like they work at Applebees or Red lobster with pig tails and jeans on, and the service was terrible. They have a five minute grace period for reservations we arrived on time for our 8 o’clock Reservation yet had to wait 15 minutes to be seated so they don’t follow their own grace periods but expect customers to. The cocktails were not garnished or in the correct glasses. The food was not high quality, wasn’t presented well, and severely lacked. For a semi-upscale dining experience it was a total bust. You’re paying for their rent, not the quality of food nor experience.

The church-turned-restaurant has a clear sky above, creating a lazy and comfortable environment. The service staff kindly introduced the menu of the day. California cuisine is a fusion of Asian and Western food characteristics. The complimentary bread is very similar to Asian double cheese bread, and the cheese taste is very fragrant. Strawberries & burrata cheese is like a variation of the classic Italian mozzarella cheese and tomato salad. It is quite beautiful and delicious. The Day Boat Scallops have a crispy topping and a tender center. It has a rich texture and is paired with spiced pumpkin puree, caramelized carrots and vegetables. , gooseberry, with diverse and harmonious flavors. Next time I’m in Los Angeles, I want to try other interesting meals!

This place is so freaking cool. Brought my girlfriend here for a spur of the moment dinner date after finding it on yelp. I only saw minimal details before deciding it was probably best to go in blind, and man am I happy I did. Dinner was delicious, from the starter bread all the way through each course. Absolutely incredible. As we finished up, we started chatting with our server and expressing our curiosity about the rest of the space there. He tracked down a manager (all this happening 5 mins until closing I might add) who without hesitation happily walked us through a tour of the whole property, sharing his knowledge and personal anecdotes along the way. Hats off to you Redbird, we will undoubtedly be back!

Walking into Redbird Restaurant felt like stepping into a cozy culinary haven where every corner whispered promises of delightful flavors and unforgettable moments. From the moment we were greeted, the staff showered us with genuine warmth and impeccable service, setting the stage for an extraordinary dining adventure. Our taste buds were first seduced by the crudo, where the buttermilk sauce played a tantalizing role, leaving us craving more with each heavenly bite. The Chawanmushi was a revelation, a delightful surprise that made us wonder why it's not a staple on every menu. And oh, the black bass! It was like a love letter to seafood lovers, each forkful a symphony of tender, melt-in-your-mouth perfection, perfectly complemented by the earthy goodness of Brussels sprouts. Redbird is a sanctuary for food enthusiasts, a place where every dish tells a story. P. S. I tried Casablanca coctail but didn’t like (I’m also not a coctail person)

A hideaway restaurant for adults. It's located near Little Tokyo, but the signboard is small so don't miss it. This stylish restaurant is housed in a renovated church, serving creative American cuisine with European touches in a relaxed atmosphere. Shishito peppers are recommended as an appetizer. We went for a VERY expensive New Year's Eve dinner, so we were expecting impeccable. It was not. My meal came out cold and when we asked them to fix it, they were happy to and took it back, which was all great. Then, a miscommunication in the kitchen pushed it back, and it took quite a while to get the new, HOT meal back to our table. Not the end of the world. Our server was fantastic and of course it is a completely beautiful space. It's just that our expectations were quite high, so they were not met and we left feeling disappointed. They did comp our drinks and apologized many times, which is all fine. It's just so frustrating to be looking forward to something really wonderful, and then it's like a broken record. It all comes to a screeching halt. I'm sure this was a one-off and not the normal course of business and customer experience. Please go here....

Really lovely atmosphere, delicious and unique holiday cocktails, great recommendations from our waiter when we had questions, and well-paced service. Our food was beautiful, interesting, and tasty, and everything we'd order again. The portions were surprisingly larger than I expected for the price-point, so we ordered 3 starters, 3 mains, and 2 veggie side dishes for 3 people and ended up taking the veggies home because we were so full. The pasta was the perfect texture, scallops were well-cooked and generous portion size, and the tofu was easily the most interesting vegetarian main that didn't feel like a bunch of sides cobbled together, but the flavors I'm still thinking about are the chawanmushi and the parker rolls with date butter. Next time I come back I'd love to sit at the bar for happy hour and stick with one main or a couple starters so that I can have room to try all the desserts. Thanks Redbirid!

This restaurant was a church so the interior was very detailed and beautiful. The drinks were ok. For appetizers, we liked the Parker roll with the date butter and chicken liver mousse. Not a fan of the Chawanmushi as there were many flavors and textures that did not go well together. The lamb belly and pork chops were tender and flavorful.

The food was fantastic. The Venus clams were quite delightful as well as the Gemelli. Quiet place with a nice ambience. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area.
