This place is a hidden treasure in the gorge! I pride myself on my brisket, and have had some of the best in the country, but this falls in my top two. What can I say but wow. Food all around was very good. The desert was extremely good. Service was great, server was knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all our questions. They have a bar, and the drinks did not disappoint. The atmosphere was laid back, and casual. Bathroom were clean, and accessible. This was a very good experience, and I would recommend to everyone.

Man oh man, so we got a new spot. It’s Red Point. Best brisket I’ve ever had, best wings I’ve ever had. Dario the owner even came by to say hello and check on us. He was very welcoming and runs a tight ship. We will definitely be back. Thank you Dario and team at Red Point! <3

I could write a flowery, detailed review of this place, but I'm going to make this real simple for you. Go. This was the best BBQ meal of my life. There wasn't a single part of it that I wasn't thrilled I ordered. I'll go back as many times as this life allows. Enjoy!

Travel to the hills down the gravel road to the best brisket you will ever eat in your life.

What can any rock climber say? What a fantastic addition to the RRG! Reasonably priced with fantastic options. The hot chicken is my go to and fantastic every time! It would be cool if they switched up the sides every once in a while, I’d love to have something new to try when I come back.

Food is great, service is great, parking is terrible. Considering the location and area, hikers and mountain climbers won’t mind the trek to the front door if they have to park in lower area or wherever they can find a spot but if you have any mobility issues and just want some great barbecue you may have a problem.

Address is actually 356 Jim Smith Rd in Campton, KY. Our food was amazing and we've been telling everyone back home in VA about it. I highly recommend starting with the pork belly skewers. I've been eating shrimp and grits all over, and this is the best I've had, and even better at a great price. Everything on the menu was priced well, including drinks. We ordered extra sides and the sweet potatoes, broccoli salad, and mac n cheese were some of our favorites. None of them disappointed though. If I had to change one thing, it would be using chicken thighs instead of chicken breast for the fried chicken. But, the breast combined with the apricot sauce was really good too. We finished with dessert and the peach cobbler was the best. If you travel near Red River Gorge, don't miss out on this restaurant. My recommended meal would be...pork belly skewers, shrimp and grits, sweet potatoes, broccoli slaw, mac n cheese, finished with peach cobbler. You'll have more than enough food and can share with your partner to try some other options too.

First time visiting this out-of-the-way hidden gem. If it weren't for the gps telling me where to go, I probably would have turned around before I got there. Just keep on going and you will find it! It is totally worth the drive. There isn't much parking near the building, but there is a parking lot down over the hill to the left as you approach the restaurant. That's the only negative that I could come up with! The building is nice and the staff were friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food was delicious! It came out quickly and was piping hot! Some of the best smoked brisket I've had anywhere. The sides were equally as good and a bit unique. We made ourselves miserable trying to make room for the bourbon peach cobbler, but it was totally worth it! UPDATE: I've eaten here many times since my first review, which should tell you that it's worth the trip! I highly recommend everything I've tried on the menu so far! My vegan friend says the portobello mushroom vegan dish is the best vegan meal she's had since she moved to KY a couple years ago! I wouldn't know because I'm not passing up the smoked meats! :)

This is one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to! It is in the middle of nowhere, down a gravel , hilly road, but it is worth the wait. The atmosphere is amazing , food and service was incredible, and the even have a disc golf course and waterfalls on the property. 100% recommend !

Happened to see the small, very miss-able sign on the way to and from Red River Gorge, and was a little worried when it turned out to be a gravel road; just when I thought that we had turned down someone's driveway and gotten lost, we saw the restaurant. Let me tell ya, this is a place you DO NOT want to miss!!! The staff are friendly and kind, the atmosphere is somehow quiet but lively at the same time, and the food... Absolutely amazing! We had the brisket and pulled pork plates, and appetizers of the pita chips and hummus, as well as caprese salad. The portions are HUGE, so I would recommend getting only one appetizer, but that in no way is a criticism!! All in all, do yourself a favor... When you see that tiny sign on that gravel road, TURN HERE. You will be glad you did!!

Great food and BBQ! A perfect place to stop after a hike or between trail rides. The portions are abundant and the choices are perfect for everyone in the group.

Visited for dinner on a Saturday and the food was FANTASTIC! Best brisket I’ve ever had. Mac n Cheese, Broccoli salad Curry hummus w/ pitas and Sweet potato were 10/10 as well! Great food & drink choices! The drive there is fun as well! Pick this place when looking for a nice, reasonable meal! App, 2 meals and 2 drinks for $60!!

Vibrant busy bar scene. Delicious Ribs, fried Chicken, and brisket. The sides are ok not great. Unfortunately we had a new server and the service was horrible. But we enjoyed the food.

This place was suppper yummy. Baked potato was amazing, the bread and herb butter? Stop too good. The meat was good as well we had chicken and the pork. They also make seltzers in house and have delish drinks. Highly suggest stopping by!

We came here while on vacation after Redpoint was recommended to us by a local bartender, and it absolutely surpassed any expectations we might have had! The food was outstanding and served in gigantic portions sizes by kind and welcoming staff. The drink selection was is than adequate and the atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and welcoming. I had the full rack of ribs and am looking forward to being back in the area so that I can have them again!

Great food and the atmosphere was on point. They were a little short staffed but it wasn’t much of an issue. Sat outside and enjoyed the view. Parking is tight but they do have auxillary parking just a bit farther. Highly recommend.

RedPoint is an absolute must when you visit Red River Gorge!!! The food was incredible. We ordered a full rack of ribs and the brisket. For sides we got mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, corn bread and the best green beans I’ve ever eaten. We watched what other people were ordering. Everything looked delicious. The atmosphere was great and the service was fantastic. Plan your visit to the Gorge around the days they’re open. You’ll be extremely satisfied if you eat BBQ at RedPoint and pizza at Miguel’s. They are the best!!!

My wife and I was in the area for a long weekend trip to do some hiking. We found Redpoint and ended up eating supper here two nights in a row. I had the ribs, brisket and pork belly kebobs and it was all amazing.

This is definitely a hidden gem. The food is amazing, the service is on point perfect. My servers sweet southern draw was adorable. Will definitely come back again and refer.

Our family met for dinner here while we were on vacation. Best BBQ we have ever had. All 8 of us shared each others dishes and there wasn't a single item served to us that was not absolutely fantastic. The service was great. Our server was so nice and he was very prompt. Everything he recommended was on point. The restaurant is definitely off the beaten path and quite a ways up the mountain but it was very much worth the journey there. Thank you redpoint barbeque for making our dinner with out with family we hadn't seen in years so memorable❤ I tried to get a picture of the pork belly kabobs for this review but as soon as they hit the table the family attacked them and they were gone. So so good though and the presentation was great.

Hidden gem off the beaten path! Definitely worth the venture out! Food was amazing, especially if you have dietary limitation (vegan & gluten free). Outdoor dining area was peaceful and felt like you were on top of the world. Food portions were definitely more than I could eat but price was great! Staff were welcoming and friendly! All around great time and would go back again!

This place was recommended by Drew from Crystal Kayak’s and it did not disappoint! The service was fantastic and the blackened catfish was delicious. I’d rank it as the best fish I’ve ever eaten. We aren’t locals, but if we were, we would be regulars at this restaurant!

While viewing the sights in RRG, you can also find some amazing BBQ here at Redpoint. The ribs here are among the best I’ve ever had. The pork belly appetizer was also top notch. They pay equal attention to the sides. The smoked sweet potatoes were especially good. We sat outside under the tent and enjoyed the green hillside and trees. It’s located down a gravel road but don’t let that stop you.

This place is simply the best! Quite literally the best ribs I’ve ever had! The sides and the cocktails were also amazing! Spicy Margarita was spicy and delish! Brisket was like cutting into warm butter. I can’t say enough. I would come back to RRG just for this restaurant. I already miss it!

As an out of towner (who has only been in the area once in 2021), we had only heard of 2 "must try" restaurants. One was Miguel's and one was Red River Rockhouse. We had Miguel's on our previous visit and did return again this time but my husband seen RedPoint in a pamphlet at our rental cabin. We love BBQ so thought it was worth a shot. The Google address took us to Smith Road so we ended up at a house (which we found out many do). Fortunately, the owners were very friendly and put us on the right path (Jim Smith Rd)! We thought something was wrong because there is no way a restaurant would have been back where the house was but who were we to argue with Google :) This time when our route took us on similar dirt/gravel roads we thought for sure we would end up at another house but then we crested a hill and seen this diamond in the rough. Best BBQ we have ever had! Grilled wings, ribs, pork, brisket, catfish, baked potato (which is baked then fried), and Mac and cheese were all top notch! And the BBQ sauce should be bottled and sold!!!! Great service and atmosphere as well. If you don't check this place out, you truly are missing the best restaurant in the area!

The BBQ is good. Best in the area I’ve tried. I wouldn’t call the meat excellent or award winning but it is good and the service is great. Plus the patio view is excellent and a nice atmosphere.

We came here upon recommendation from our tour at Rock Bottom Adventures and I am so glad we did! Everything was fantastic!We are from North Carolina, which supposedly has the best BBQ... this place put NC BBQ to shame. We had the pork belly appetizer which was so good, and then both of us had the brisket. The BBQ sauce they make is the best sauce I have ever tasted, if only they sold it to take home! Plates were piled high with food and we left with a bunch of leftovers that I can't wait to warm up in the morning for breakfast. We will definitely be coming back here on our next trip to the gorge!

This place did not live up to the hype I had heard about. The food was really good but the service and atmosphere was definitely lacking, I'd rather go to eat somewhere closer by next time, I had to travel up a gravel road to what looked like a barn it was kind of confusing

We sat out on the patio in back overlooking a beautiful view! The food was very good, service was a little slow. We had a lot of bumblebees hovering around our heads while we ate, they seem to want to just sit there and visit with us. It’s up in the hills kind of in the middle of nowhere. When we first pulled in, we thought it was a house with a restaurant in it, but you need to keep going past that and you’ll find the restaurant!

The food was amazing! The rack of ribs was to die for and the baked potato and broccoli slaw were tremendous. You will not go wrong eating here.

We love this new found gem of a restaurant. The ribs were possibly the best I've ever had, and I'm old!! The sides were amazing, I had the squash and broccoli salad. I highly recommend this place, I have lunch for 3 days with my leftovers. 😋 oh and sit outside if you can!!

I never thought I’d find a restaurant at the Red that I’d like more than Miguel’s. I was wrong - Redpoint just might take the crown. Though you’ll likely spend around $30 per person for a plate of BBQ (with sides) and a drink, the massive helping of food you’ll receive and the delicious cocktail you drink alongside it will be more than worth the price tag. Redpoint is a great addition to the small but stupendous collection of restaurants found along Hwy 11 that serves hikers, climbers, and locals alike. Check it out if you haven’t been before! And try to get there early on weekends, as there will likely be a wait.

What an awesome place this turned out to be. From The amazing brisket and the ribs, broccoli salad as well as the desserts were unbelievable. Definitely off the beaten path but well worth the ride. I highly recommend you try this place. Thank you for a great meal.

Had a wonderful lunch at Red Point. The helpings are enormous and everything we tried was delicious! We sat outside as it was a beautiful day. Service was a little slow but definitely not unbearable. Would highly recommend!

Food was a 9.5 out of 10, service was a 1.5 out of 10, maybe less. I was really hoping for a great night, which includes a 30% tip sort of wait staff and this was far from that, very disappointed. Had a brunette gal (with her hair in a knot under a camouflage hat) and I feel like these kids these days think that waiting tables means taking an order, then disappearing. All staff was super nice, but took our orders, brought drinks, then never checked back until I had a napkin on my plate asking if we wanted dessert. Needed a drink refill and had to chase it down. Needed another refill and had to chase that down too. 2 minute check back? Nope... dropped our plates (not even her, someone else) and left.... no one ever checked back in to see if everything was OK and ask if we needed anything else. We were obviously do e at one point, so she came over with her little point of sale machine to ask if we wanted dessert..... that was the first check in since food was dropped which is upsetting. Do they not train these people how to properly wait tables?? I have no problem paying good money for a nice meal out but I want good service to accompany the food. At the time that she asked if we wanted dessert, my daughters water was go e and she didn't ask if we wanted a refill (so.ething you don't ask if we need, you just do it) and my wife had ordered a mixed drink which was gone at that point. She was going to order another o e, the girl didn't ask... I asked her about it after the girl left and she said screw it, I'll drink water. Our dinner was perfect, absolutely lived the brisket, pulled pork, loaded baked tater, the broccoli salad, all great. I didn't like my corn bread, maybe be cause it was cold, just wasn't my style but not mad at that, just not my style. We ordered the bourbon peach cobbler and didn't like it at all, way to light on the peaches and heavy on the cake, and too heavy on the bourbon flavor... but I feel like that's just our taste, just not for us so still giving a 5 star rating for food. Wait staff is another story, these people need to be TRAINED properly... this isn't Macdonald

Awesome place! Really cool location, waiters and waitresses were fun, just the right amount of chatty, and were happy to help with any questions on food or even things in the area. Nice and clean, restrooms well maintained. There is a Disc Golf course righttttt outside the restaurant. Great surprise! Watch for ticks after though! Edit: Don’t come in on Saturday. 75 minute wait for food after we sat and ordered. Redpoint did a great job making it right though! A really good choice for the best food! We are regulars at Redpoint and have probably tasted every menu item. All of them are really high-quality and the consistency in quality, cook and portion sizes is great. They also are in the running for best margaritas in the area. We absolutely love the catfish, ribs, corn grits bread and I very much appreciate all the gluten-free options. Almost the entire menu is gluten-free!

Food is amazing and definitely worth the wait and drive. There is a reason it's extremely busy. Expect to wait for a table (30/40 minutes) and ensure to put your name in. People are standing in line for the bar, food to go orders, and waiting for tables. Highly recommend the pulled pork, mac'n'cheese, and sweet potatoes. Atmosphere is great and they have a waterfall on property. Even the kids loved it. The service was a little slow with drink refills; however, a group of 30 and group of 10/15 came while we were eating so they opened the patio on a cold evening to accommodate everyone with patio heaters.

Enjoyed dinner here last night with the family while exploring the Red River Gorge areas for our spring break trip. Wow! Mouth-watering amazing food and great cocktails to boot! Don’t skip this place if you’re in the area, it’s top of our list when we’re next back around!

I went to red point for dinner last night after a full day of hiking. I can echo the sentiments of the other reviewers that this place is outstanding in every aspect! The staff provide great service and a great atmosphere and the cooks clearly know what they're doing with every part of the meal. I had the brisket, macaroni and baked beans and they were all fantastic. Keep up the great work!

The pork belly kebabs are SO good, a must-try! Dining outside is nice, they have space heaters and the atmosphere is cozy and vibrant.

Came a few days ago from out of town, while visiting Red River Gorge. The food was unbelievably OUTSTANDING, I highly recommend the grilled wings. I have ate wings in many places but RedPoint wings are by far the BEST I have ever had. Came back today for another round of dinner before leaving. My table on both nights ordered different items from menu, there was nothing that came out that was nothing but Great. I Highly recommend stopping by and having patience as you wait for a seat. No matter the length you wait the food is worth every minute you wait and every penny you spend. Thank you to RedPoint and the staff, I will be back with a group to throw disk golf and introduce them to Outstanding food. Their staff as busy as they were continued to reach out and provide pleasing hospitality. Oh don't forget to get a dish of the peach cobbler, wonderful.

I’m obsessed. I’m from Cincinnati and this is better than any bbq places we have here. I can’t wait to take some of my other foodie family and friends here! Our waitress was very attentive and sweet. Broccoli salad is just like how my mom makes it (so loved of course!) and loved the vinegar slaw — I wish I could have tried every side (offer a sampler!? 🤣😅). Ribs were delish, love the house bbq sauce, and the peach cobbler was kinda insane .. and I’m not a dessert person. Really looking forward to going back this summer and trying more of the menu!

We came here last night while in town visiting and their food is seriously some of the best our family has had!! We would 100% recommend to anyone who is thinking about getting some good smoked barbecue. We ordered several plates and were impressed by the portions! Our favorites were the smoked brisket and ribs, and we LOVED the pork belly and wings as appetizers. Thank you for such a great evening with great food!

The pork belly appetizer is amazing. Tender juicy and tasty. We now get it with our meal every visit. The beef brisket is great. Has a smoky barbecue taste with a very slight crust and very tender. Pulled pork is lean and tender and great taste. Shrimp and grits are as good as any in Lexington and are close to taste of some I had in New Orleans. Salads are fresh and have a good variety of lettuce and greens in them. The bourbon list is second to none. And they offer a good variety of mixed drinks. The atmosphere is rustic and casual and can’t be beat

Had an early dinner on a Saturday night while visiting the area for the first time January 🥶. They were already busy, but we didn't have to wait long for a table. Wait staff was attentive, food arrived in adequate time to have a drink before. Cocktails were Amazing! "Hinney and woodland fairy". Food was Amazing! "Apricot fried chicken, baked beans, broccoli salad, Mac n Cheese, cornbread, brisket." Got dessert to go "cheesecake" 😊. Definitely a highlight to our trip!!!
