Can you get better ice cream anywhere? I submit that you cannot. This place has more than 31 flavors, and rotates the unique ones through the store. The ice cream is thicker than soft serve, but not hard like other ice creams. In my opinion, it's the perfect consistency. The waffle cones are made in the store and are so delicious, I've heard several people say they'd eat the cones by themselves (which is probably why Reed's started selling waffle cone pieces). In addition to buying a cone of ice cream, you can get a bowl, a pre-packed larger container, or even request a fresh hand packed container of an available flavor. I hear they may also sell you a full 2.5 gallon box of ice cream (the type they scoop from at their counter). Or if you're in the mood for Italian ice instead, they rotate through several yummy flavors. They recently added dairy-free ice cream to their selection, which I've heard is some if the best tasting for those who cannot eat dairy. Let's not forget the ice cream cakes that actually have more ice cream than cake... That's the way to do it! And I have to mention their milk. It's simply better than milk from other stores because Reed's leaves in the non-fat solids rather than skimming them off to make cottage cheese or other products. Skim (non-fat) milk doesn't taste like water here! There are several other items to purchase, which would make this review much longer. My favorites are the grilled cheese sandwiches that are grilled with honey butter, and the (squeaky) cheese curds. I've saved the best for last: the chocolate milk. It's equal exists nowhere. The secret: miniscule potato flakes! This chocolate milk is so creamy and the perfect richness, it will satisfy your chocolate cravings like nothing else.

What happened at Reed's??? I live out of state now and I go through withdrawals for Reed's chocolate milk. It has been my first stop anytime I come home to visit. I just bought some and it is clear that they have changed it. Watered down maybe? Cheaper ingredients? I'm not sure what it is but it doesn't taste any different from the generic brands you get at the grocery store. So sad. I feel like Reed's is another treasure that has fallen victim to getting too big for its britches. It really was one of those things that made Idaho Falls special.

Ice cream is great! The cows live next door! Plain flavors to the exotic. Best chocolate milk and seasonal egg nog around--try strawberry milk or seasonal chocolate egg nog. Something for everyone.

We visit IF every summer from Arizona. We make sure to go to Reeds Dairy at least three times (sometime more) during the week we spend in Idaho. Fair priced, high quality, family run business. ❤️❤️❤️

This is a must stop, several times if we are luck, every time we visit family in Idaho Falls. The chocolate milk is to die for, the ice cream smooth and rich, and employees who are wonderful, kind, and friendly!

Go ahead, I dare you. Try and find better ice cream...... anywhere. Can't do it. Made the mistake of going to a local shop where they mix the ingredients and just about spit it out. All ice cream is held up to the Reeds standard, and yes, Reeds is on top. Just go there, you won't be sorry.

I live in Texas and huckleberry is therefore a luxury to me. While I have never tried the actual fruit, Reed's huckleberry ice-cream is one of the best I have had. A strong flavour mixture of blueberry and the jam of a Black Forest Cake (is this what huckleberry taste like?) without being overwhelming sweet. I wish I could bring their bucket-size huckleberry ice-cream home!

This place is like family. My inlaws used to live in Idaho Falls so this was always a stop. Great homemade ice cream, milk (the chocolate milk is the best), cheese, and they have a fantastic grilled cheese using their own cheese. a must with kids in Idaho Falls. I had a milkshake and it was outstanding but very very rich (not a bad thing).

Make sure you try the different milks! They will have different flavors as the seasons change! We drive from Salt Lake to get items from Reed's Dairy, including the milks and ice creams. The farm animals are fun to see as well. They also sale unpasteurized cows milk.

Reed's dairy flavors are unique and amazing. AND if you want to pet a goat or a sheep or a cow, you can! Also cheese curds are phenomenal!

Ice creams are very soft creams, delicious, their flavor everything is very clean, I love that place.

Love this grilled cheese and milk products they offer. My girls love the calves out back. It's added fun for the kids. Service isn't the best. Multiple customers, myself included. Stood at the counter ready to pay and order as staff went about their business in plain sight.

I took my 2 kids there today there was nobody behind us the a couple walked inn and one of the staff ignored us and asked them what they wanted I didn't say anything but then a older couple came inn and a young girl that was working also skipped us again so I said we are in line also but we where still ignored until the first guy that skipped us was done he helped us I was going to leave but didn't because my kids really wanted ice cream you guys need to train the staff a little better or maybe because we are Mexicans that's why we got ignored

Great spot! Been going here since before I can remember. The ice cream is the main attraction, but the grilled cheeses, milkshakes, and milk are all better than most. And if you’re looking for recommendations, grasshopper is my favorite mint flavor of all time.

Miss your ice cream specifically the bubble bear which is my husband's favorite... He constantly talks about it. Too bad we can't get any here in Vermont.

Reed's Dairy is a popular place for us to take our grandkids out for their birthday dates and sometimes, just because. The workers are exceptional and the Reed Family has always had such quality products.

I have family in Idaho Falls that I visit often, and one thing we try to always do is pay a visit to Reeds! Their ice cream pays tribute to the cream in ice cream. They always have at least one flavor I didn't anticipate to see, and no matter what I end up choosing, I end up with a satisfied smile on my face and want to tell everyone about my delicious experience. I love that they also have other options in their fridges you can purchase to take home. They've thought of a lot that works perfectly in their community.

Reeds dairy was so good 😊 . I got a huckleberry shake with normal milk and it was literally one of the best shakes I’ve ever had. It was perfect texture, the ice cream was super thick and creamy, the taste was spot on and I drank it super fast.

Great local place. They use their own butter and cheese from their family dairy for all their products and food. The staff is eager to help and moved through two huge church groups while we were there in rapid time. After ordering, the drinks, cups, and chips are all out in the customer area for “on your honor” grab and go. Small town, honest feel. In addition to the regular delicious ice cream flavors, the staff is encouraged to create their own new ice cream flavor; so if you want to try a flavor invented by a staff member, ask for a sample. All dairy products are great. We had combo meals with grilled cheese and ham. Grab a bag of cheese curds (squeaky cheese) and warm it up slightly before eating so the texture changes—so good!

I'm afraid I'm addicted to Reeds Dairy. I've been going there for years. I am especially fond of their huckleberry ice cream. Overall their ice cream was extremely high quality using the best ingredients. The only thing that I don't care for recently is that they have allowed the tipping culture to invade the cash register. Someone rings me up my two items. Then reverses the screen so that I can tip 15% of my total purchase. Sure, you can change the number, but at the same time it makes you feel like a low life. They are essentially shaming you into 10 to 15% markup. I think I'm going to start going to a grocery store that carries their products. The grocery stores are more expensive, but at least they don't want to tip to check me out.

I will lead with the ice cream is absolutely amazing. That part is five stars. I am very disappointed in how I was treated tonight . I was helped by a young man, named Trey at the ammon location. I asked if they could fill a bottle with whole milk for me for my baby. They could not do that which is fine so I proceeded to buy a half gallon of whole milk. I was short $.10, and I asked if I could use it out of the jar behind the counter that had pennies in it. It was not a tip jar. He refused and said that was his money which is OK, but he was very rude about it, and not to mention I put about $.40 in the jar earlier whenever I bought a colored changing spoon for $.25 and said here is some change for if somebody ever needed it.he acted as if I was trying to steal. I even told him thank you after I went and found the $.10 I did not get a thank you back a smile nothing. Also, he was scooping ice cream and then going to the Gloves on, and then scooping more ice Touching the cones with the same gloves, he touch the money with. he was just very rude in general.

Every time I visit one of their locations I always receive great service and excellent product! Their Grasshopper flavor is the best! I wish all the best to the family and company as whole and hope their recent, devastating loss can be overcome.

Best chocolate milk ever. Before they offered delivery, we would drive from SLC for the day. The only agenda on the trip would be to get a truck bed full of chocolate milk and bring it home to our friends. My point? It's worth a 7 hour round trip drive in the winter. Delicious

I just stopped to buy regular eggnog; chocolate eggnog and chocolate milk for family that will be here for Christmas. It’s a must to have all these in my house for our kids and grandkids. You can’t go wrong with anything from Reeds Dairy!!! Oh and a bag of regular cheese curds. Love Reeds, only 2 miles from my house is so nice. Reeds is the best!

Whenever you're in Idaho Falls, ID, Reeds Dairy is must-stop place. Their chocolate milk is better than any I've ever had. And if you have a chocolate milkshake - made with chocolate milk AND chocolate ice cream, you'll think you've died and gone to Heaven.

Awesome local diary shop with tasty ice cream, milk, eggnog, and other such things. It definitely gets busy though (especially on Saturday evenings).

My week has been bad so I’m trying to give extra stars to even out because idk if I’m judging to harshly. But my grilled CHEESE sandwiches has no cheese. I was very disappointed. The young man taking my order was very confusing and insisted that I get a kiddy cone and not a regular cone. I even said I’d pay for the extra cost of the larger one but he said no and gave me the kiddy cone. I mean, yeah I need to watch my waste line but dang it’s been a bad day and I needed the ice cream and cheese. Ugh.

I would like to thank Mr. Alan Reed for addressing my concerns! Inhumane treatment of the animals in the petting zoo! It was 8pm August 29th when my son and I visited Reed's dairy and the animals that they have outside. We noticed that the buckets with water were completely empty for the cow and the sheep. We went to the shop and let the employees there know. To which they told us "We will take care of it". Well in 1.5 hours at 9.30pm on August 29th we decided to drive there and make sure that the animals have water. And what do we see? The same situation - nothing has changed - no water in buckets. Please note it was 90F outside. They were already closed but the employees were cleaning up inside so we came and asked the person to please take care of this issue because it was never done to which he told us "I will let my manager know now and it will be taken care of tonight." After 15 min nothing has changed. We come to the door again and the same employee tells us "These animals actually don't belong to Reed's dairy, therefore, we cannot do anything about it." So they all left for the night without giving the water to the animals outside. Isn't it nice? How would you feel sitting the whole evening and night and morning without anything to drink when it is so hot outside. Would you really buy your ice cream from the place where employees do not feel responsible for and do not care in the slightest about the animals that are just outside their doors? Hey, I get it, maybe the animals don't belong to the Reed's Diary, but you posted video on YouTube in 2018 where you invite people to come and pet the farm animals at Reed's Dairy. So you are using the animals to make people excited about you and come and spend their money with you, but at the same time you don't care about the animals (as the situation today showed us) but only about making money. And look at the stall of the cow for example. It is full of flies and poop and it has been like this for the whole week because we came three times to check on it. Would it be pleasant for you as a baby (it is a baby cow) to sit in the stall that is full of poop and flies and is 2 feet by 6 feet where you can hardly turn around and on top of that not to be near mother cow all the time? As they do not switch the animals every day. These are the same animals day in day out. They are not moved to the general stalls for the night, they just stay in this little space all their baby life. You have such huge stall for the sheep. Why not put the sheep in the smaller stall where the cow is now and move the cow to the bigger stall so that it can at least walk around? We were shocked and utterly disgusted. Shame on you Reed's Dairy. And shame on you Alan Reed who is more worried about making his money than taking good care of animals who help him make his money. The animals have water because we gave them water at 10pm after your employees informed us that they would not.

The best food and ice cream and chocolate milk!!! Love it here! Major problem though with service- kids with air pods in and closing up shop 15min early. They took our orders and payment and then said the milkshake machine was “down”….a very McDonald’s move to make and very disappointing. If you cleaned it early, then that’s what happened- don’t lie about it and don’t clean it up early! If you’re open until 10, you’re open until 10. They were bustling around us and rushing us out of the store. We had a long drive always make a point to come here.

We spotted this on our way to the crators of the moon. We decided to visit on our way back. It was treat of taste. Amazing handmade natural ice-creams. Huckleberry is something unique and of great taste. They have some fresh grilled sandwiches also. Must try. Very cheerful and courteous staff as well!

Delicious dairy and best spot to stop on a road trip to or from Yellowstone. The staff is friendly and the building is clean and well maintained. The bathroom is decent (far better than the Maverick across the street, so if you need a pit stop I recommend using the restroom here). Kiddos enjoyed sitting down to eat a grilled cheese, then licking their huckleberry chocolate twist soft serve while we visited the farm animals (cows, goats, chickens, sheep). The squeaky cheese is a great road trip snack.

They have a amazing ice cream and lunch specials. Their Italian ice is from Karie Ann’s, which is phenomenal. Don’t forget to go outside and pet the livestock. I recommend Reed’s Dairy.

I'm all for finding the local joints, the places that bring life to a city from the standpoint of how their food speaks, Reed's Dairy is another Idaho Falls contender that has made itself into that mix. Oh the creaminess of this ice cream! Ice cream is among the top 2-3 of all time, there is a reason it's been a long-time Idaho home grown staple! Options for ice cream are plentiful! Prices have been adjusted due to inflation, well the ice cream itself is fantastic, this is something to consider in your visit. The staff has always been super polite, and recommend supporting this local business!

This place has amazing ice cream. It is very fresh and I love that I can support a local business. The employees are very friendly and helpful. There are many flavors to choose from. I can't wait to return and try them all! The Gorilla Munch flavor is my absolute FAVORITE! I will definitely get that one again! You can also buy bigger containers of ice cream to go. It is also fun to take your kids here to see the animals. The goats are hilarious! This place is a staple in our diet!

Delicious ice cream and grilled cheese. Although I don’t like the sweet, cloying smell inside the building, the treats make up for it. The ice cream is so good, and you will be wishing you had more hours later. The grilled cheese is something you can make at home, but Reed’s just does it better. Somehow Reed’s managed to make something good, affordable, and fast. Amazing stuff.
