This place is an absolute delight! The fresh bread, deli, snacks, and ice cream.. there is just too much to list! Highly recommend the ice cream and sandwiches served at the deli.

Great food, great service, great prices!!!!!!

Saturday last, I paid $12.00 for a coconut cream pie. What I discovered was that the pie pastry had never been cooked. It appears that the pastry was made, put into the pie pan, and then put into the freezer for later use. It then had a filling of what appeared to be Jello instant pudding, with a tad of coconut flavoring, and a few sprinkles of coconut. This pie was not acceptable to either my daughter or me. This is not the correct way to make a coconut pie. I would be ashamed to have sold such a think in my store (for $12, no doubt). If Backermann's wishes for me to, I can make a real coconut pie and show them how it's done. This was horrible..

The food is excellent (best broccoli cheese soup ever), their baked goods are reasonably priced, and the service is so friendly. Definitely making the drive again soon.

Not worth the drive. Do you close at 3 or 4. You should post all your closing times like for candy, bathrooms, furniture etc . Thanks for closing early on the way back we stopped at the Hut and the food was very good.

Amazing place to visit. Food is so delicious. Get all you can eat soup. Otherwise, you will regret it . Friendly staff and the store was something amazing. My kids enjoyed the outdoor animals and loved the park area . This is a place we sure be back to.

The best Sourdough bread, the Texas Sheet Cake is so close to my Mom's, and the jellies are amazing. Always enjoy the shopping adventure.

What a fun outing! We drove almost an hour to enjoy Backermann's, and it was worth it! A beautiful day to drive was icing on the cake. This is an Amish/ Mennonite store featuring fresh meats cheeses and baked goods. One side is a sandwich shop making good use of the meat department. They have several "named" sandwiches you can order, or you can build your own. They also have a soup bar with about 8 different kinds. The other side is the store with the meat counter and baked goods. The shelves are loaded with jams, jellies, pickled goods, along with nuts and candies. Rounding out the store is a variety of items from sewing notions and toys to soaps and homeopathic medicines. Outside features different cedar and cypress rockers and other furniture. There was also a variety of beautiful plants in urns and hanging pots. We didn't make it to the back to see what other animals were sharing a space with a Tom Turkey! Go hlhave some fun at Backermann's!

Wonderful staff. Amazing location. Great products. Great prices. I absolutely love love love this place. This my go to place to recharge myself. My mother in law who lives in Idaho, loads up. My late wouldn't allow regular store jelly or jams in our house. I'm the same way. I've always buy at least 3 jars.❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋😋😋

What a place, real butter. Always a great place to just wonder around in. Canning fruits and veggies my favorite items.

Usually shop here to get favs like the fried pies, honey, dog treats, roll butter, apple butter, sourdough bread etc. The selection of jams and jellies is the largest I've ever seen in any one place! I have never eaten there but its always busy on the cafe deli side where there are many sandwich offerings and daily specials offered as well.

Friendly, clean and the food is delicious. I will be back and love groceries there also. Must see and stop.

This is an amazing place. The environment was on point and the food was delicious... The cashier was delightful and sweet and so was my waitress... I got there special for today witch was a shredded chicken sandwich and it was delicious... There other special look amazing and j can't wait to come try them... I also got a side of soup, and o my gosh it was the most delicious thing ever. The soup I got was loaded potatoe... Will definitely come again:) Service 100% Food 100% Environment 100%

A great place to find unusual fun things. I buy their jams, jellies, sauces, etc as Christmas gifts! Fried pies, pickled everything, furniture, soup mixes, candles, medicinal potions, just about everything!!

I got the Turkey Reuben at their cafe and it was INCREDIBLE. Very cool store as well with unique flavors of jams and breads. Definitely worth your time and money. Everyone there was so nice.

INCREDIBLE!! What an oasis. This place has just about everything you can imagine in the way of foods, jams, home baked goods. They’ve got popcorn, rice krispy treats, salt water taffy, jams, jellies, pickled foods, soup mixes, bean mixes, tons of pastries and even a restaurant!! I enjoyed visiting and buying lots of pepper jelly.

Great little restaurant and can shop in the mini mart for canned products , noodles , spices , candy , fresh baked cookies and bread so much more. Cheese and deli meats galore.

I ordered a swing from Backermans in May and was told it would arrive in early July. I called to check on it and got told it wouldn’t be until late July. Then in late July I called 3 times for an update and was eventually told that the swing I ordered wasn’t made anymore and they couldn’t get it. Disappointed I waited 2 months for a product that they couldn’t supply. Would’ve been nice to know up front or sooner in the process.

This place is amazing! Everything is home grown, and made naturally and the staff is so wonderful.

Really like this place and wish I were closer. Stop in every time I pass through and load up on stuff to take home. Food is great. Market is full of fresh groceries at good prices. Staff is great and couldn’t be any nicer. It’s always a pleasure doing business with them.

Country store, restaurant, handmade cedar furniture, dry goods, preserves, candy, and even a petting zoo - everything but gas, beer, & cigarettes! The food is great; the staff is friendly; the tables are far enough apart to get comfortable; and the peacock is big. The turkeys & geese wander free, but the others are penned. Dangerous selection of sweets.

Love it here...food is always good, service too. Grocery has great selection as well.

Always a must stop when we pass near here. The lunch is always delicious. My kids went with the daily special which was a smoked pulled chicken sandwich. I opted for the all you can eat soup buffet. With 6 soup choices available, there's bound to be a couple that fit your fancy!

I got a pizzarini. It's basically a grilled cheese with pepperoni and you dip it in Mariana sauce. It was hot and fresh. Bread was toasted to perfection. The service was fast and professional. I love all their little bakery and deli items they offer. Great place to shop and eat. Safe for people of all ages.

Their staff was very helpful and friendly. After we finished our shopping we had lunch there. The Reuben sandwiches we ordered were the best we have had in years.

I love this store so much until I makes special trip here to purchase items that are not available in my city. The customer service is excellent, good choices of meats, country butter, country buttermilk and all kind spices for any dish that you’re fixing.

My sandwich was awesome and the strawberry cake was the best I have ever had. I’ll be looking for their products at the Shelby Forest General Store until I can get to Whiteville again!

Have been going to them since I was a child. The best hand made furniture you can buy. I was at Lowes in Bartlett and even one of their staff mentioned how good Backermans furniture is when a customer asked me for my opinion on the rockers at Lowes. Lol. I was honest and the Lowes employee agreed with me to my surprise. 🤭 We love going to their Cafe and then letting our son play on the playground. You can feed their goats. Their icecream is the best by the way.

Good place to eat and shop for Mennonite goods. Also good for kids to see and feed farm animals. Playground also on site.

The food is amazing and their product selection of goods is outstanding. It is a warm welcoming environment and the folks there are so friendly and helpful. If you haven’t taken a moment to stop but it is definitely a must!

I love going to this store. We always eat lunch here too. We had a Ruben Sandwich and a side of Pasta Salad. It was delicious. We always buy their fried pies and take them home. If you are in the area. It is a must stop and enjoy.

I highly recommend. Bring plenty of money though. We originally went just to shop for jarred items, but ended up eating lunch, petting animals, and looking at furniture. I had one of the best Rueben sandwiches, my wife had a chicken wrap, minus the wrap due to gluten free, and the kids had chili and chicken noodle soup. All were excellent. The sauce on the wrap was awesome and we got a jar from behind the counter, called Backermann's sauce. We ended up with about 15 jars of thins, frozen meats, cheeses, desserts, candy, bread. The kids also had hand scooped ice cream, which they loved. I highly recommend this for and afternoon or weekend trip. They also have outdoor furniture for sale and lots of other things. The website is also great.

I've wanted to go there for years and I finally went last week. Great store with wonderful and fresh products. Amazing selection of dry spices at such a reasonable price it was insane. We also had lunch and it was fantastic. Worth the drive!

Loved, Loved, Loved this store! My spouse and I were looking for a place that sold canned preserves and this place did not disappoint! I even purchased some things that I wasn't looking for like, pickled green tomatoes (great in a salad by the way) and homemade strawberry jalapeno jam. It was certainly worth the 1 hour drive. We will be making this a regular outing.

Excellent as always. Love all the fresh baked breads and cookies. Lots of great jellies and kitchen staples as well as prepared meals and so much more. Best deli sandwiches anywhere. We always love visiting the goats out back too. It's our favorite way to spend a Saturday.

This place is one-of-a kind! Everything is fresh, made on site or locally, and tastes fantastic! Staff is super helpful and friendly. You'll find things here you'll never find anywhere else (like praline pecan honey butter), then river how you ever did without it! I'm a repeat customer for sure!

Have always had good experience at the store and restaurant. Store selections have many products not readily found elsewhere. Restaurant has always served up overstuffed sandwiches and tasty side dishes.

Lunch was lovely & everyone so nice & friendly! Feeding the farm animals in the back was best of all - but PLEASE someone give them fresh clean water! Clean their drinking containers!!! Very sad!

The Country Market has various selections from Local Tennessee suppliers andelsewhere. Customer Service is superb. I found a Cream Soda 4 pack from a company that started in 1891 using Pure Cane Sugar. WOW is simply stating my observations.
