This place is wonderful, it’s like being on vacation and visiting family in a different land. You get greeted with a warm smile and a helpful attitude. Eliana, Vidalia, and the rest of the team are very attentive and helpful. The food is authentic, fresh and really good. I’m a regular and I always feel so satisfied. The food is outstanding and the staff is the best. They speak English and Spanish. What I really enjoy is trying to order in Spanish and getting help from my friends at Rico.

First and Last Time How are you hiring people to take orders that don’t speak English? Just have the customers use a touch screen to order if the staff can’t speak English. Makes no sense. You think you’re saving money but you’re creating a poor customer experience. What’s the job interview process if they can’t do the job? “Oh, you’re a person. You’re hired.” Lady at register takes order then goes to the kitchen to prep the meals in containers without washing hands. 2nd employee does the same thing. Another employee is eating at the counter where the kitchen is. Employee eating chips while typing in order and then meal prepping without washing hands. Chicken is dry. 👎 - Rico Tropical will reply saying how serious they take this but clearly don’t take it serious enough to hire and train employees correctly. Do we want our food prepped with all this nonsense going on and you can’t understand us while taking an order. I wouldn’t eat here for free.

Food was good and so was the service ! The only reason I didn't give a 5 star was because for my first visit I ended up with a short piece of hair on my fried egg (may have been a piece or hair from the hair or eyelash). I got the latin bowl which was really tasty. They redid the egg for me no problem but no other type of compensation and it being my first visit was a bummer. Especially spending almost $20.

The food was really good and had a lot of flavor plus fast service

I love this place. It’s got unique items that aren’t found in many quick stop eating spots. The Cuban bowl is my favorite….those plantains! Yum! The sauces don’t wow me, but the bowl is so flavorful…it doesn’t really even need a sauce. The mango sauce is my fav if I had to choose. Also, the passion fruit lemonade!? Tastes like a vacation to Puerto Rico! It’s SO good!

The food and service is amazing. The meat is super flavorful and tender. The sauces go with everything!

First time here and was not disappointed, to me it's a top shelf of chipotle. Customer service was amazing, food was top notch such a big selection and they cater to Vegan as well as Vegetarian which I am. Carmel Flan and Guava was so tasteful. It took my an hour to get there from my house and was well worth the trip.

Fast food Mexican. Quick and fresh.

The premise sounded exciting and tasty. I checked out the menu in advance and made plans for a soon future meal. Boy were we disappointed. Neither the shrimp dishes nor the chicken dish had ANY FLAVOR AT ALL. The items were cooked to a good temperature for sure, but there was nothing else present. The sauces barely even had flavor. It was like they rinsed any potential flavor out of everything before packing and presenting it. I did not see a sign as to where to pick up to go, so I had to chase down my bag as it went past where I was standing back to the front of the store. Lastly, the prices paid suggested it might have been a mildly classier experience, but alas, it was not. The servings were super small, flavorless, and overpriced. Even the cheese dip was tasteless. Never again.

Cannot say enough positive things about this place, if you haven’t tried them yet. Stop waiting… this is a must try!

Food is exceedingly mid, service friendly, nice interior/atmosphere. Relatively expensive for the quality of food/service. No quality complaint regarding the actual preparation of the food, but my ‘Lomo Saltado’ lacked flavor; food was good but bland. The meat could have come with more “sauce” to soak into the rice/fries.

Great, tasty, fresh food with great portion sizes and at a solid price. Ordered togo and it was ready extremely quick! Will go again when in Kennesaw!

This is one of the better burrito places in the Kennesaw area, fresh ingredients and cook to order. Comfortable restaurant environment, providing mini menu options. easy to access right off the KSU campus and the shopping center that offers many other options.

This place has fantastic vegan options. I always stop by to grab lunch whenever I'm in the area. There fried plantains are some of the best I've ever had.

We were looking for a quick yet fresh meal and found Rico. We ordered the Tropical and Cuban bowls. Love the sauce options!

It was my family’s first time visiting this restaurant and we enjoyed every single item we tried. We got chicken arepas, steak bowl, empanadas, tequeños, fresh juice- mango & maracuya and tres leches. Everything exceeded our expectations.

We tried Rico's one night when we wanted something fast that wasn't burgers and fries, and I'm really glad we did. It's one of our family's favorite quick restaurants now. It is counter service, so you will have to wait a few minutes for your food, but the quality is worth the wait. The food is fresh, and everything we've tried has been great. It's a tropical grill with menu items that have a central and south American flavor. I like the restaurant created menu items, but the rest of my family appreciates the create your own options for burritos, bowls, and sandwiches. The savory and the guava and cheese empanadas are probably my favorites.

The food is delicious, well balanced flavors, great sauces and fresh. The service is exceptional. I love the Saltado bowl and the tres leches. I am so happy I discovered this place!

I am Hispanic I cook almost everything at my house and this is the first time I really enjoyed Hispanic food not from home and came back next day to order same thing I mean like WOW ask for the Bandeja (Bowl) Paisa is a famous Colombian plate but the guy knows how to cook Cuban style and the mix beans, meats excellent will be coming back for sure.

I dined here twice in two days because the food was so good. The menu was full of options and my order was hot, delicious and was a generous portion. I will be back the very next time I am in town.

Amazingly priced food that competes for some of the best tropical/latin cuisine in Georgia. Staff is very friendly and accommodating for allergies. I have never seen the dining area unclean and the food comes out quick. Cant recommend this place enough!

I'm Cuban and have been to a whole bunch of Latin restaurants in Georgia, and this place is by far my favorite place. They should franchise it. All their food is so delicious, however, I highly recommend the Paisa Bowl. You can not go wrong with anything you order. Everything is seasoned so good.

I am from South Florida, and one thing I miss most is the amazing flavors of the various Latin restaurants. I have been here for eight years and have tried every place I could find boasting Latin flavor. Nothing compares to this place. Everything I’ve tried here is delicious, fresh, and the flavors that you expect. The service is great and the restaurant is very clean. I’ve eaten here twice this week because I came in for lunch a few days ago and remembered that they serve Sancocho on Sundays. Had to come back to try it. It was so good! Tastes like home. The photos are a tostone with ropa vieja, topped with tomato, cilantro, avocado, and the cilantro sauce. The other photo is the sancocho served with rice, avocado, and an arepa.

Good food, reasonable price. A mixture of fast food with custom made. Burritos, bowls and tacos with selection of ingredients.

I'm hispanic so it's a little hard for me to compare but Ricos is solid. Good place to get food that tastes very good and good menu options. It's one of my go to places when I want something fast and easy and satisfies a home craving while being fairly inexpensive

( Food Afficianado) I've been to this place after I went to pick up an order and saw the menu was quite interesting. The Latin/ Caribbean influence was worth trying and i must say since then I've been back and even recommended it to friends, tasty, delicious and wide variety it did not disappoint, also the mango and passion fruit juices are equally refreshing and tasty...restaurant is clean and efficient 👌 5/5

Stopped in looking for something new to eat. I love Cuban food and this place does not disappoint!! We had the Cuban bowl and steak sandwich. Both of which were wonderful!! The food came out hot and fresh. We enjoyed it so much we went back several days later and same thing, food came out pretty quick and was excellent. Great flavors, they were generous with the sauce which has great flavor, without over powering food. If you like Cuban food or just looking for something new Rico's is the place to try.

Amazing food but prices have doubled in one year. $22 for a beef and shrimp bowl is insane. Staying away until prices come down.

10/10 I got the ranchero bowl and Latin bowl for my sister. I got the shredded beef from another plate subbed out and everything was amazing. Fried plantains, meat, rice and beans all on point

My first visit was 11/14/23. I’ve been haveing a hard time finding good food in this area, just moved here 6 months ago and this place far exceeded any expectations I may have had. The food was so flavorful and delicious that I failed to get a picture. I highly recommend this place! I will be returning every chance I get!!!!!

Food - 4/5 It's pretty good. They are generous with the sauces as well. Service- 1/5 I can't speak for the guys in the back preparing the food but the guy who takes the order needs to learn some customer service. I forgot his name but he doesn't smile, doesn't greet or speak. I went back again to grab something for my parents and he didn't say hello. He picks and chooses who he's going to speak. Not a good look. Atmosphere- 3/5

The food is good, but every time that I go there, there's always some kind of rudeness from the employees. They should hire Colombian people who are more polite.

I had this in May of this year and my goodness it was one of the best things I have ever tasted. I got the steak bowl that time. This time I got the chicken bowl, and it was not what I remembered :/ the flavors weren’t there like before and everything was kinda mushed together. I’ll definitely give it another try another day though!

This place forreal has got it goin’ on!! I’ve driven past them a million times thinking it was some chain, I’m an idiot!!! Finally stopped in tonight for the first time on a whim and I was blown away. Got the Paisa platter and everything was just perfection — tender juicy steak, crispy crunchy chewy chicharrones (pork belly), snappy sausage, and runny egg over super flavorful red beans and rice. Talk about true comfort food!! Food came out quick and all of the staff were super warm and friendly. Looking forward to coming back again and again!!

Best chicken quality I've seen in town, and possibly anywhere. Golden brown, not too dry or moist. I am picky about this stuff, and I am impressed. Beats out Chipotle, Moe's, etc. We'll done Rico. 👌

Great south America food, the best dish I tried is the chicken arepa.

Food is FRESH and delicious!!! From the fresh passion fruit juice and empanadas, to many of their meals. We have some favorites like the Paisa bowl and Picada bowl. Flavors are there! And atmosphere is relaxed and very clean.

Initially, the food is great , my wife and I have been coming here regularly for over a year. The food is always freshly prepared and tastes good. That being said , our order is wrong nearly every time we eat here. In addition to that , the customer service isn’t pleasant. I hate leaving this review as we love to come here and will continue to come here , its just extremely frustrating the amount of times that our order is completely incorrect , regardless it be take out or dine in.

I highly recommend stopping by here. The food is incredible, the staff is very respectful and friendly, and the service is quick.

Food was amazing, Being Puerto Rican myself it was pretty close to authentic. Not sure if any Puerto Ricans were actually cooking the food, but food was still good.

Delicious food. I had the Paisa Bowl and was pleasantly surprised as the steak was the hidden gem in this dish filled with great flavors. Will definitely be back for this reminder of my many trips to Medellín, Colombia.

When we still lived in Kennesaw, my boyfriend and I used to eat at this place every weekend. They have great vegan options and we were always satisfied with what we received.

The black beans were watery and without any seasoning

The custom bowls are tasty, healthy and affordable. The ingredients are fresh, the price is quite good and the amount of protein served is sufficient. Orders are placed at the counter and then the food is served relatively quickly to the table. Even in busier times, the waiting time is kept within limits. Additionally, the fried yucca sticks are also highly recommended.
