The Chicago Dog was Legit, as was the Italian beef. Smoked brisket sandwich was tender, juicy and delicious.

Don't go to Roy's for the atmosphere. Unless you're looking for the feel of an old-time greasy spoon joint. Which I actually like. Definitely will go back to try more of the menu.

Haven't tried them but I will get back to you!

Best place in the Bay to get a Chicago dog and Italian Beef. Hands down. There is no better.

The biggest challenge the dirt parking lot. Love the idea of this place. Food is good, but challenged with the local. Great place that you should experience at least once.

Wife and I stopped in to get a buffalo dog and a BBQ chili dog. The dogs were delicious and the staff were very friendly. The best part was after serving us one of the workers sat in the corner playing blues on his guitar.

Authentic Chicago beef sando was awesome, Chicago dog also excellent. Great fries, down home country super awesome staff they knew everyone in there. Perfectly funky ambiance, overall great place I will be back!

Haven't been here for too long. Won't wait to go back. Food was delicious! Choices are daunting! Italian sausage and meat was spectacular! Even the Cole slaw has a bite! "Roy" does a great job at providing great fare and some killer entertainment. It's like a meal and a floor show. BTW, don't ask if he has any P Diddy in his play list!!

Best food ever .....Mac and cheese balls were to die for .....omg order 2 of them trust me ....the combo was the deal half Sando and a Chicago dog legit best around don't miss out if you do you will regret it ....owner is a down to earth guy and funny as hell ....the gal that helped us was on point funny as hell and a babe as well .....all-round great place to eat and put a smile on your face go eat now ......

Moved to Petaluma from Chicago in April. Of course, I had to try Roy's. I've found my Chicago Dog home at Roy's. Absolute perfection! AND, get the Butterscotch Milkshake! Epically delicious. Look forward to trying other goodies on the menu. Five big sparkly stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Being a Chicagoan, I just had to go check this place out after hearing about it. I drove 30+ minutes to get there. I was willing to overlook the gruff location and exterior....if it meant I could get a REAL Chicago dog or an authentic Italian Beef sandwich. When I walked in, I wasnt sure where or how to order, as it was set up like a very small diner more than a take-out place. There were only 2 people working and maybe 5 or 6 customers there. So I stood at the front, waiting for some instruction on where to sit or how to order. I watched what was a mostly unorganized and unfriendly environment. The 2 women working looked scattered and unhappy. Interestingly, there was little girl, maybe about 9 years old, who was sitting at the counter and was running credit cards for the woman waiting on tables. Seriously?! Then of course, she had a problem with a credit card and the woman / employee stopped what she was doing to assist her. I assume she was the daughter of one of the 2 women working. I couldnt quite believe what I was seeing...but it was like watching a train wreck and I couldnt stop watching. After at least 6 or 7 minutes, neither woman had even acknowledged me standing there nor made eye contact. I was thinking that even if I wanted to stay, it looked like it would probably be at least a half hour before I could get a hot dog? So I turned and walked out. I' guess I'll have to wait for my next trip to Chicago to get a good hot dog or Italian beef. This was a big ZERO waste of time. 🙁

Only place to get an Italian Beef in Cali unless you want to drive 7 hours to LA to get Portillos. These guys use the real stuff. Vienna beef. Chicago dogs are on point and the beef always satisfies my cravings. Thank you for creating such an amazing business. More people need to understand how tasty Italian beef is. The hot dogs are to die for, the best hit dog I have ever had. The Italian dip was good but as good as the hotdog bit still worth trying. Don't order it wet the bun gets to wet get the juice on the side and dip it yourself. Ordered the breaded Mac and cheese ball with Buffalo sauce, it was still cold in the middle was pretty dissatisfied but I didn't say anything didn't want to make a big deal out of it. Love the inside of this place and the blues music that is played. Kind of expensive for hotdogs and when you get the basket of fries added on about 20$ a person with a drink. Also orderd the cheese dog and you would think the cheese would come melted on top of the dog but it's cold shredded cheese just piled on.

The best hot dogs! I can't find anywhere in the Bay Area with hot dogs as good as the ones here. I drive an hour to get here and it's worth it! Try the Chicago dogs. You will not be disappointed! They have outside seating.

We drove here after Pumpkin Patch,ordered garlic fries which is really good and then we ordered mac and cheese ball for my kid but its a bit spicy for her and its only 1 round pc.We also tried the chili dog and reuben sandwich.I was expecting of a fresh off the grill bbq ribs but the full baby back ribs was serve to us it taste like it was baked and just reheat a bit,because when its was serve to us the bbq ribs was not even warm to touch..

I have been eating Roy’s hot dogs and brisket for three years. Roy’s is affordable and fun. The blues music Roy celebrates makes lunch or dinner a special occasion. Roys is unlike any place in the Bay Area. It is Petaluma’s best kept secret

Extremely friendly staff. Lots of interesting choices on the menu. I chose the brisket sandwich as I can never skip a bbq brisket. It was delicious. Maybe a bit light on smoke flavor, but delicious nonetheless. It was very tender and moist. Definitely have to come back.

Took the long way round to get there, could hear the cattle in the background, and the snap of that hotdog accross the table from my wife was music to my ears! The Chicago dog was just...a straight up Chicago dog. The Italian beef sandwich just melted in my mouth, with a spectacular dip I woukd drink with a straw....Round it out with fry sauce for the crinkle cut fries.. just a nice lunch. The staff was friendly and attentive. Just solid...

First timers here & was absolutely delighted by the atmosphere, the food selections & service. All 3 of us had different things from the chili dog, combo (Italian Beef, Chicago Dog) & the Ruben Dog. Fries were good too, nice crunch to them. We'll definitely be going back. Try it, you'll like it!

I can’t go to Petaluma without going to this amazing Chicago food. The Chicago hot dogs and Italian Beef are perfectly authentic and yummy. The BBQ is fabulous. I recommend this place, but make sure you are going during their open hours.

Food is good, but it cost me $10 including tip for a 10/lb standard hot dog and a 12oz can of soda. Kinda pricey for a Chicago dog in a cattle yard.

Got a combo which includes Chicago dog + 1/2 Italian beef sandwich and a basket of fries. Reasonable prices and delicious food.

So if''n your in Petaluma and craving a good hotdog. This a very good stop. They are only open Friday, Saturday and Sunday and a bit pricey. But my chilly cheese dog was fabulous. They have out side seating at the moment. And service was very good. I will go back.

The Chicago dogs are A W E S O M E... The cheese dogs, while made with the "right" bread and Vienna beef dogs, the creamy cheese a true Chicagoan would be expecting on the cheese dog, is not creamy- it's shredded cheese. With that being said, a few seconds in the microwave melts it right up, and no one is any wiser. This place is a staple, I never want it to leave, and I will continue to eat here often!

This place has an outdoor seating area that is mostly a gravel parking lot. I wasn't expecting much from the first impression, but was happily surprised when the food arrived. I got the Chicago Dog, but they have many other offerings and sides include fries, coleslaw, etc. Everything was fresh and flavorful. Don't pass it up if you're in the area.

Got the slaw dog, best hotdog I've ever had hands down. Spicy, tangy and crunchy slaw w savory chili and dog. Fries great too. Milkshake (raspberry cheesecake) just okay, kind of watery.

The food is off the chart. I love the barbeque. So good! The fried Mac-n-cheese is seductive. Be forewarned! They sell out early!

AWESOME PLACE!!!! Friend Ed introduced me. We had the combo of Chicago hot dog and Chicago beef sandwich. AMAZING!!! The dog was loaded with fresh vegetables, the sandwich dripping with juice. Quite the experience. Don't wear nice clothes to this place or you might get messy. The only way to eat the sandwich is straight Caveman. It's a mess and so worth it. The gorgeous young lady taking orders was so polite, prompt and professional. This place high-end. Go when you're hungry. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! 🌭🥪🥤👍
