Didn't lodge at Ruthcliffe, just ate at the restaurant. The service, the quality of the food, and the unbeatable views make it totally worth the trip to this hidden gem in Isle La Motte. Reservations required.

In the most unlikely place, a campground and summer lodge lies a culinary experience worth the adventure to get to. After meandering through the beautiful Champlain Islands and traveling on secondary roads, we arrived. The evening we were there it was cool and rainy. We still chose to sit on the covered deck. Our waitress was attentive and very nice. I ordered the short rib with garlic mashed potatoes. The other dinners in the party ordered rack of lamb and seafood Alfredo. All of the dishes came with a salad and choice of starch. Food was excellent!!! By the end of the meal the sun came out and we had a phenomenal view of Lkw Champlain and the sunset. Highly recommend Ruthcliff Lodge!

Me and my family always love coming here. The owners are super nice. The service and food is amazing. Everything is super clean and well run. And there are courses (soup, salad, main, and dessert) which makes the experience super fun. The view of the lake and mountains is stunning. And the restaurant is accessible by both boat and car. Would 100% recommend coming here. A well worth it hidden gem.

Went for dinner. The setting is gorgeous. The food was great and served at a leisurely pace, making it easy to enjoy the view and the meal.

Beautiful place and kind people, but reservations ONLY which isn’t noted anywhere on the website, so we were turned away despite a number of empty tables. We were allowed to have a drink on the lower deck, which was lovely, but I fail to see why we couldn’t order off the menu.

Always top notch, service and cuisine. Seafood Alfredo and Braised Shortribs we're great.

Little escapade from Montreal on a beautiful Sunday with 30 Celcius. What a nice bike ride on the Isle La Motte! Life is just marvellous. We stop by Ruthcliffe Lodge & Restaurant craving for some refreshment in the late afternoon... Kathy welcomed us even if they weren't open and served us excellent local beer. The view lake is relaxing, just very pleasant to sit on the deck. End up having dinner there. Excellent food/wine and service. The staff is very attentive. Family-owned/operated for more than 65 years... that is the secret. Highly recommend. Will be back.

A great family dining experience

It was a beautiful night for dinner on the porch looking out over a beautiful lake. The food was delicious. Service was good. You are served bread, soup, side salad, entree with vegetables and garlic mashed potatoes or pasta. Not cheap but fair prices.

Just one of best restaurants I've ever eaten at. Anywhere. Worth a special trip.

One of my favorite places for dinner with family and friends. This rustic lodge is right on the lake with a deck that’s perfect for dining out in the summer and a dinning room that is charming. This food is great, save room for the desserts that are homemade, and the wait staff is excellent. You can come here by boat, but call to let them know. Reservations are a good idea because it fills up quickly during July and August.

Great food with a fantastic view across Lake Champlain. Better then I would ever have imagined. A little pricey but if you're looking for a treat and your in the islands, done there.

Fabulous opening night! Rack of lamb, and Seafood alfredo were delicious. Soup, salad, bread and entree = great dinner! Service was impeccable and the welcome delightful.

Lovely place, lovely staff. Delicious breakfast, never-ending warm-up! It was a very relaxing stay. Very calm and peaceful place. I wish I had more time to walk in the woods. The breeze is strong and even could deceive me as sea waves. The night sky is marvellous. I am really looking forward to being there soon.

"Will you be arriving by boat or car?" That is magic to the ears when making dinner reservations on the lake. Bring your appetite for a wide variety for your tastebuds. If by car, when you go through camper village, no you are not lost. Drive until you see the lodge and Inn and cant go any further. An experience you won't regret!

We were greeted like family and taken care of like royalty. The food was superbly prepared. Rack of Lamb, Shrimp Marco, Chicken Picasa and Veal Parm, dinner does not get better then this. It is a whole meal that included soup, and salad. Are we coming back? Definitely.

Uncompromising quality lodging, staff and accommodations. Superb direct lakefront. You pass a world heritage site to get to the Ruthcliffe. Its definitely better than good staying here. It is so remarkably beautiful.

Great food, wonder view. Had the seafood Alfredo. Amazing combination of lobster, scallops, and shrimp over linguine with a light homemade Alfredo sauce. Nice size portion.

Cannot believe the view. The proprietors are wonderful. The food is great. We have been going there close to 20 yrs.

We love this restaurant and dine there 3-4 times each summer. You can't beat their Lake Champlain views and you can't beat the quality of their food! And we love dining on their porch! Their food is consistently exceptional and service friendly and casual. Try their lamb chops or their seafood pasta dishes. Fantastic!!
