Money!! So good. Ask for Mari. At the Bar. And then ask her to fix you a drink. Then… Start with the handmade and still warm Dalmatias with Cilantro chutney. Then! Mango Curry with bird. Make sure to also order an order of the Keema Naan with 1/2 raita/tzaziki. Some tandoori and beef keema kebabs for the boys. Game on. CdA Hockey Academy Approved

Food was good and the restaurant is nice, this is why I’m sad to leave this review. When receiving my bill I and an others with me noticed that our individual items were up charged by 5-7$. We were a party of 6 so we realized they had done this to raise the mandatory gratuity. I’m not against the gratuity but charging more than what’s listed to make some extra money is dishonest and gross. Go somewhere with more integrity.

We were as a tourist in Seattle and we went in saffron for having dinner after a very tiring day. Initially we ordered Paneer Tikka, Veg Pakoda, Garlic Naan and Kashmiri Veg Curry. On top of that, they offered us complementary food for every course of our meal from appetiser to dessert. Which was very surprising and we were amazed. They served samosa as a starter, Rice-Onion slices as a side-yogurt in main course and Ras malai as a dessert. The food was really very tasty and the service of the staff was really very nice and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Seattle and want to eat good Indian food. Overall we loved the food, service and ambience.

Went here because of the good reviews. Staff were friendly, good ambience Ordered the veggie platter appetizer - the samosa and paneer pakora were good (6/10) Pesto naan was good. (8/10) The Shimla paneer was very sweet which I didn’t expect. It looked good but didn’t taste so because of the overpowering sweetness despite ordering medium-hot curry. (5/10) The Rogan Josh was flavorless, it had a bold color but was disappointed because it was pretty bland. (3/10)

We walked into Saffron Grill on a Monday evening around 5 pm and were surprised to find it pretty roomy. Score! No waiting around for a table. The service was fantastic too - we got seated quickly and our food came out fast. Saffron Grill isn't the cheapest Indian place around, but the prices felt fair for the portion sizes. Speaking of portions, the highlights of my meal were definitely the butter chicken and the falafel. Seriously, that falafel might be the best I've ever had - crispy on the outside, perfectly fluffy inside, and packed with flavor. The chicken tikka appetizer were pretty delicious too. One tiny thing that bugged me was the pickled mango. It looked yummy, but there wasn't a spoon in the jar. Not a huge deal, but a little inconvenient (and unsanitary). All in all, I'd give Saffron Grill 4 out of 5 stars. The food was delicious, the service was speedy, and the atmosphere was relaxed. Definitely a good choice for Indian food!

They switched or spicy rating on our dishes. We ended up giving a 3 star plate to a 4 year old who got sick later. Afterwards, when getting our bill the waiter mumbled something to me, I couldn’t make out what he said so I said thank you. On a 180$ meal I gave them a 20$ tip as the lowest they earned, not knowing that they had already added a 20% gratuity to it - 30$. So I ended up give them a 50$ tip for dinner. I feel cheated and used by that waiter and prob won’t ever go back there again. For that price we should have had the best of everything, instead we got sub par service in a booth in the corner and was gouged when getting the check. Done with Saffron.

We recently visited Saffron Grill for a family dinner, and it was a fantastic experience. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it an ideal spot for a family gathering. I started with the rose lassi, which was absolutely amazing. The delicate floral flavor was perfectly balanced and incredibly refreshing. We ordered a variety of vegetarian dishes to share, and each one was delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, and it was clear that a lot of care went into the preparation of each dish. The naan was a standout. It was soft, fluffy, and the perfect accompaniment to the flavorful curries and other dishes we ordered. Every bite was a delight. Overall, Saffron Grill provided a wonderful dining experience with excellent food and a cozy atmosphere. It's a great place for a family dinner, and I highly recommend trying their rose lassi and naan. We'll definitely be returning!

My 5 ⭐️ was earned by the impeccable service by our server Ravi, and also that it wasn’t just one dish that was phenomenal, but the fact that EVERY SINGLE THING we ordered was perfection! Ravi made excellent recommendations, was so attentive, and so were his coworkers. From being sat promptly all the way to getting a rice pudding on the house! (HIGHLY recommend the pudding, there’s nothing like it!) They have their customer service perfected! Our drinks were never empty, our food was delivered with expert timing, and the chef seasoned and cooked better than any place we’ve been to! The meat was tender and melted in your mouth and the dishes so flavorful! We have lived in Seattle for over a decade, and this is our new favorite place to dine... I usually do not do bad reviews however I think others should know. I chose this restaurant on the recommendation from a close friend and frequent patron of this restaurant. I met a friend there for dinner that I have not seen in 15 years. It was not a busy night and there were several tables open and no one waiting. We took a few minutes to catch up and look over the menu but asked for a few minutes more to decide as it was our first time here and they have a wonderful menu to choose from. From that moment on it felt like we were being rushed to order, rushed to finish our meal, and then rushed to leave the table. Again it was not busy when we were there. We were eating and catching up, they never asked if we would like a refill on our drinks, just filled our water glasses 1 time. They bought over Togo boxes and we paid with no interaction from our server. We sat there for maybe another 5 minutes to finish our conversation since no one was waiting for a table. The server kept giving us a look like hurry up and leave and they rudely came back a second time and put our food in bags and gestured it was time for us to leave. We were there about 75 minutes in total. Other tables were seated before us and we left before them so I do not feel we overstayed. Sad to say, I will not be going back even though the food was tasty.

Food was alright, asked for spicy but was mild at best. The price is pretty staggering for what you get. We had 4 people, 2 entrees and a few naans, and price came out to over 140. Which is fine but the quantity is extremely low. The entrees were made for 1 person and each cost 30 bucks. So it’s ok but the price is pretty high for what you get.

Expensive - very expensive. Prices have gone up almost 50% in a year and closer to 100% over 2 years. We had 4 entrees, 4 Naan breads, 3 beers and a coke. Total was $257 - Yep almost $65 per person for curry WATCH OUT FOR THE MANDATORY SERVICE CHARGE OF 20% FOR TABLES OF 4 OR MORE. Also note that they calculate the tip based on the total with tax. I complained and said I would reluctantly pay the 20% (it took almost an hour to get our food) but I would not pay the tip on the tax. The waiter said he couldn't change it so I told him to get his manager. The waiter came back 5 minutes later and had miraculously removed the 20% tip. This was our go to place for birthdays, graduations and anniversaries . We will not be going back.

Still trying to figure out in what universe this and naan for 3 is over $100 worth of food… Genuinely shameful portion sizes for the price. The medium-hot spice level was nice. Butter chicken is standard and tasty; mango curry is REALLY sweet. Even at a medium-hot spice level. The samosa chaat is…fine? Nothing too notable there. The garlic naan is sincerely huge, so that’s cool. But it was super flat. I know what you’re thinking, duh, it’s /flat/ bread. But there’s no bubbly goodness, no crusty tandoori-kissed bottom. It’s more just like a thicc tortilla. Certainly wont be back on my dime, but would eat the butter chicken again if it spontaneously appeared 🤙🏻

Came here solely based on the reviews, unfortunately it was not as good as we were expecting. We got seated right away which was nice. The menu has about 100 items and 100 beverages. The prices are much higher than other Indian restaurants in the area and we did not find the quality or serving size warranted it price difference. We ordered a chicken korma and a chicken tikka masala. We asked for medium spice and neither came with any heat at all. Additionally both curries were served cold. The tikka tasted bland like it was missing something like maybe kasuri methi. The naan was just okay but very thin in the middle and could hold no sauce. Our table was cleared by a staff member before we ever saw our waitress again after our food had arrived and we ended up waiting at an empty table for about 15 minutes to get our check. Our meal plus 1 beer ended up being over $100. Way too much.

I have been here before, and loved the food. When I came today, I waited nearly 10 minutes for someone to wait on me, and the waiter was quite disengaged…I felt like I was disturbing him. He was called to the table by an alert bus person, who noticed my attentive gaze. The food came quite quickly and was good, though I felt like the veggie pakoras were over-battered. I have had time not only to contemplate this review, but more than enough time to search for an online venue to do a review, then and to thoughtfully write this review as I waited, and waited, and waited for my check. I am much more able to forgive poor food to poor service…this exceptional wait is souring me to this restaurant. I eventually had to ask the sweet woman who brought my water to alert the waiter if my need for my check; otherwise, I feel I likely would still be sitting in wait. Were it not for the atmosphere, the quick delivery of food, and the reasonable quality of the food, I would have given a much lower rating.

This used to be a really good Indian restaurant but NOT anymore, it’s gone downhill. Why: 1) Food lacks flavor - can’t taste aromatics, spices and no heat the 3.5 tasted like 1.5. Naan was obviously made with processed bleached flour and not a lick of butter. Plus cilantro was rationed to a couple of leaves per dish 2) Plenty of staff and tables but made us wait 10 mins 3) Prices were very high at ~$28 per entree and $7 Naans. On average thats $15 more than most restaurants for those 2 items 4) There is an automatic 20% service charge pre-tax for tables of 4+. That’s really 25% + just for wanting to eat with more than 1 person! 5) Decor inside is tired looking but lots of lights outside to attract you in This is not Indian food but a general international restaurant. We have had better Indian food in Mexico! Positive - decent portions, large naans and d they gave us a complimentary slice of cake (which was stale so obviously they were trying to get rid of it). When we received a bill for $92 for two entrees and two naans - we were a bit shocked. Appreciate prices have gone up but this was ridiculous. If you want Indian food - try one of the many other options that won’t sting your wallet so hard!

Best restaurant in Seattle! Their food is incredible! Service is great, seating is a bit of a wait on Friday & Saturday, just because so many people want to eat here. I don't have one negative thing to say about it at all. I would wait 2 hrs if I had to to get in. Everything on their menu is 5* and done perfectly. My family can't even drive by it without stopping 🤫 The owner is a great man & very accommodating also most of the time right there as you walk in. Update; 8 yrs later it's just as amazing today as my 1st time visiting. The saffron is the best restaurant in Seattle!!

The chicken nachos are REALLYYY Good! Upscale nachos for sure! the Chai tea, man, they listed all ingredients that were in the tea, and i swear i tasted all of them, its rare when you read what is in something and you actually taste everything. I had the mango curry as well, and that was fire! the rice was so delicate, yet so flavorful, pretty presentation, Lovely service, you will not be disappointed here to eat!

ordered Rogan Josh with Paneer, Jalfrezi with vegetables, Garlic Naan, and a Royal Biryani with vegetables the first thing I appreciated here was the customization to start, the menu had many different curries - way more than what you would find at a typical indian restaurant there were 17 main indian curries, and that's not even counting the Tandoori or Vegetarian curries, or even the Mediterranean food The part that was really nice, however, was the customization Each of these 17 curries could have 3 vegetarian options - Vegetables, Tofu, or Paneer, and also another 4-5 different meat options as well I've never really seen this at an Indian restaurant - usually the main 'base' of the curry is already given and you just have to pick the type of curry based on what's provided Since our entire group was vegetarian, it was incredibly nice to have the option to pick any of these curries - so we weren't limited by a bunch of curries that already came with meat. In addition, different people in our group could add different 'bases' based on what they preferred - for example I asked for Paneer with my Rogan Josh, while others in my group asked for vegetables with their curry/biryani As far as the food itself, I thought this was also fantastic Starting with the Rogan Josh with Paneer, it's rare that the gravy is as flavorful as I saw here Normally, the Paneer will be the main focus of the curry - and here I found the paneer to be very good; it was firm and quite satisfying to bite into as it didn't get soggy from the curry like you might see in other places. It had a fullness to it However, I found the flavors of the remaining gravy to also be incredible. There was a rich, deepness to its flavor not found in other Indian restaurants where the gravy is more liquidy and just there to support the Paneer When it came to the Jalfrezi, I really liked the vegetables in here. While I didn't find the gravy to be as flavorful as the Rogan Josh, the vegetables in this were cooked really well and satisfying to eat. I did prefer the Rogan Josh over this, though It's interesting that this and the other curry were both ordered at a 'Hot' spice level - but I found this to be spicier than the other one The naan was also excellent. Several members of our group commented on how soft it was - and having my share of Indian restaurants where the naan is super hard - I found this softness to be excellent. This may have been the best texture of any naan I've had at a restaurant. The softness made it super easy to break apart and envelop the curry with I also quite liked that the curries weren't overflowing with oil - there certainly was some - but it was a reasonable amount The one downside is this place is somewhat expensive. For a curry + naan it'll end up being at least 30 dollars, and one serving of naan might not be enough. I've seen places which give you a lot more curry for a lower price, but I will say this definitely made up for it in quality Also, I thought the naan could've had more garlic on it - it didn't quite really have much flavor We also got a free gulab jamun (x4) at the end of our meal - which was surprising but excellent Overall, from the many restaurants I've been to, I think this is the best Indian food in Seattle. Would highly recommend. 8.7/10

We’ve always loved eating at Saffron Grill for dinner and we recently had an amazing experience working with Arfan and the Saffron Grill team to cater our large wedding of 150+ people! The food was absolutely amazing (hits were the butter chicken, chicken tikka, chili prawn and paleo paneer). They team is unbelievably professional, and go above and beyond for the best customer service. Would 10/10 recommend for any event!

Good food but it’s really not worth the $25 they charge for their tiny sized entrees.

Dined here last night (Feb 14th!) and it was super busy. Waited for like 30 minutes even though we had a reservation for 7:30 and arrived at the restaurant 10 minutes early. The food was just okay. Anything chicken tasted good. The mutton was bland with really big chops. The veg biryani tasted and looked like Bismillah bath. Also, we were seated in a weird spot near the counter and could feel the wind blowing when someone opened the door, which is definitely not a nice experience during winters.

The food is pathetic. It's just the same stale curry in all their dishes. So much food coloring and the taste is the same across any dish your order. It's no where close to real Indian food just a colored concoction of a same curry catered to serve the Americans who don't know anything about Indian food.
