Delicious food! We loved the chicken shawarma, lamb gyro, salad and hummus. Outrageous homemade baklava!! We will definitely be back! Nice atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff.

I don't have enough words. The place is clean, comfortable and so nice inside. The staff is so kind and attentive. But....the food is next level. Absolutely delicious, fresh and with flavor pops that definitely put them ahead of the competition. The fresh homemade pita alone is worth the trip. Today was our first time here but it will definitely not be our last!

This was an EXCELLENT experience! Beautiful, clean, well kept restaurant and the fresh food was delectable and one of a kind. Hummus and pita app was delicious and the gyro was HUGE! You will leave full and happy!

This is authenticity middle eastern food cooked by locals with an eye for perfection. It does not matter what you order it is light and good. Your senses will be enlightened. I have eaten all over the world (check my 100+ restaurant reviews). The service is attentive and warm. They just like what they do.

I NEVER leave reviews but this place is an absolute GEM. Amazing food, great people, and extremely reasonable prices.

Been there a few times and its hit or miss. If you get there during peak hours the food is fresh but its busy. If you eat slightly off hours or late, you get dried "leftover"-type food which defeats the purpose of paying the high prices. The people I took there for their first time will not go back because the meat was dry and I told them it was not like this before. I think it was because its off hours but its no excuse for serving leftovers imo. Ambience is ok. Service was attentive and great.

Incredible food and lovely owners. The kabobs are so good. The schwarma wraps are addictive. Their Baklava is worth leaving room for and eating slightly warmed. Overall a wonderful place for a healthy meal.

The food is AMAZING!! Food is fresh, and the owners use high quality authentic ingredients. Greek salad was great with amazing feta and olives. Gyro meat was incredibly tender and seasoned perfectly! Spanakopita was the best I’ve ever had. Our first visit, but certainly not our last!! The owners are two very amazing people. Had the chance to go for lunch which was comped by the owner. My gyro was amazing. Everyone at our table enjoyed it! A must try if you've never been!

Incredible restaurant. We visit Jim Thorpe 3 -4 times a year and when we go this is our choice every time. It is about 30 minutes from the Poconos, but we do not even check other options. The food is incredible. We order the olives, hummus and a wrap every time. This time we added a coffee and a dessert and both were perfect. Their prices are very reasonable with fresh and large portions. The expansion and decor is very tasteful as well. You need to try it, you will love it. Thank yiou.

Food was amazing, I came in from out of town. This place was recommend. I ate here twice before leaving because the food was so good. Everything is fresh and homemade, very tasty!

Came for an early dinner and was so very pleased with everything we ordered. The lamb gyro platter and the chicken schwarma platter were amazing, delicious and a must try! Brought my family back to try and they loved it as well.

My family and I found this gem about a month ago and have continued to visit every time we get A craving for fresh food. Tom and his family are exceptional hosts that make you feel like you are the most important client in the world. But simply put the freshness and quality of the food is of such a high standard all other Mediterranean cuisine in the area can hold a candle to these guys. It’s my 31st anniversary Today and my wife and I decided the only place we would go would be Tom’s Sahara Mediterranean restaurant. These guys revive my love Of eating out again.

Customer service is fantastic. Tom is a great gentleman and provides terrific advice on what you can enjoy in a lovely meal. Great for adult family gatherings.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and finally got the chance with my mom and sister. I have to say it hit every mark! Salad- crispy and fresh, souvlaki - lamb and chicken full of flavor, best dolmades I ever ate, perfect creamy hummus. I picked it up -had great service ordering and the owner made sure the cold and hot were separated. And the feta! Best ever! 10 out of 10. I’ll be back!

I have been to this establishment twice, both times the food threw me all the way back to North Africa. The authenticity in every bite is something you can only experience, there are no words to describe. The professionalism and hospitality you will experience is nothing like you have ever experienced any where else. I highly recommend. We walked in, were seated and nobody came over to us while we watched one server work and the other one who sat us stand around on her phone. After 10 minutes she came over with water, never asked us what we wanted to drink or if we wanted an app or had questions, etc. Said 'are you ready?' and we ordered right away in fear of how long it would take for her to come back. The food came out on small appetizer sized plates, my wrap was a pita too small for the sandwich and was in foil to keep it in...when you went to move the foil to bite, it all fell apart. The chicken was so dry it was almost worthy of spitting out and my pita was soggy to the point that you touched it and it smeared onto your finger (and I had ordered my garlic sauce on the side) so there was no sauce inside the wrap. The owner was talking to other tables who brought wine and appeared to have spent more than us, sat next to us to look at his phone and never said anything but then went up to the register to talk with his two servers about their increase in takeout orders and how to increase business...I can tell you, better service and care for those already sitting in your restaurant would be a good start to increase business. No one came to ask how everything was and we had to go up to the register to pay because we were sitting for so long with no check.

Simple atmosphere, but welcoming and amazing owner and staff! The food is outstanding, fresh and delicious! We brought a bottle of wine, they corked it and gave us glasses. Try them! You will be a regular like us. We dined there tonight for the first time, we will be back many many times! Christi (hopefully I spelled it right ☺️)was our server and what a sweet and wonderful person! Tom is the owner and he was at every table making sure the patrons felt welcome and his personality makes you feel like you have known him forever. Go there, you will be very happy!

First time trying this place. Got takeout and was greeted exceptionally upon entering. Super nice place inside. Amazing gyros! The platter with the rice, hummus, and salad was amazing! Will be back to try the rest of the menu!

This place is great; Tom and his staff are fantastic. They expanded the place recently and it looks really good! The sampler appetizer is really tasty with the cauliflower, feta, grape leaves and hummus!! Best feta and grape leaves I have ever had! The gyro is delicious.

I don't want to be too harsh, because usually the food is spot-on. I don't know if there is a change in the chef. The food was very good to excellent before the remodel/expansion of this restaurant. This time around, my wife believed that the rice tasted old; or that old rice was mixed with new rice. I myself did smell the rice to be not as exciting in the past; and it seemed a little on the soggy side. In any event, my wife doesn't want to go here anymore; says we should look around for another mediterranean restaurant.

**Just expanded and new interior and decor. Looks amazing and now a restaurant feel. More tables now with servers. Food is still the best and service is always amazing. Tom interacts with all his customers whether they are regulars or first timers. Still the best medeterian spot in town** My co workers and myself have been coming here at least once a week for years now. The food and service is always excellent. The establishment is always clean. Sometimes we get a little surprise that is not on the menu and everything is always delicious. So far we never had a bad experience. The price is reasonable as well. As long as this place is here we will always come back. Tom and Naima (sorry if misspelled) are great people.

My wife and I stopped into Sahara on a whim. I ordered a chicken shrawarma and my wife ordered falafel. The food was excellent and the service was great! We have a new favorite Mediterranean restaurant in our town, we will be back.

They will get it together after the expansion. I think they are just overwhelmed now. The only reason I gave service a 2 is because they don't have enough. The servers themselves are wonderful, but there aren't enough of them to handle the crowd. I will be back. It's one of my favorites.

In my opinion best local Mediterranean food and friendliest service from owner in my last dine in experience. The Shawarma was so delicious.

After tasting their food all questions as to how they achieved their five star rating will be well answered. I had stuffed grape leaves there for the first time and loved them. Funnily, they set my standards very high on stuffed grape leaves, and every other restaurant I’ve had them at since have been a disappointment. I’ll have to visit again soon. I couldn’t recommend this place enough.

Whenever we find ourselves in the area, a stop at Sahara is a must for some authentic Mediterranean and Greek food. The owner is very genuine and takes immense pride in the quality of food served, and it certainly shows with every bite. Among our favorites are the Chicken Souvlaki, Chicken Shawarma, Baklava, and Tabouli, though everything on the menu we've tried is amazing. Each visit has been great, with fresh ingredients , and fast service adding to the positive experience. The essence of authentic Greek cuisine is captured perfectly here, making Sahara a standout establishment in the area. We highly recommend it to both locals and visitors alike.

Came in with my mom accidentally, (actually thought it was a place we went previously.) Food was meticulous and delicious. Owner was such a great guy. We chatted for almost a half hour, took incredible pride in his staff, commended them for their efforts to make the place what it is. I can't wait to have their chicken shawarma and falafel again!! They're also soon to expand. Definitely a new local favorite!

Oh. My. Goodness. We cannot say enough good things about this restaurant! From the way we were greeted to the fresh quality food and everything in between, perfection! My husband had the chicken schwarma platter with fries and I had the beef gyro platter with rice. The platters also came with the tastiest hummus and a fresh tomato/cucumber/pepper/red onion salad with vinaigrette lemon and mint. We had enough to take home for a second meal. We will be back soon!

This is the best Mediterranean food in the area hands down. Much better and cheaper than the Mediterranean Grille and Café in Fogelsville. We've been coming here for about a year now and have brought many friends and family who all love it too. It's a very quaint little hole in the wall type of place that keeps us constantly coming back. The owner and his couple of employees are all so friendly and make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. We've tried at least half of the menu and everything we've had thus far has never disappointed. The portions are large and very reasonably priced for how much you get. 10/10 recommend!

Great food and service. Freshly made food and salads. Was not sure what to expect when entering establishment but was pleasantly surprised. Though I think it would give a better atmosphere with some Mediterranean pictures on the walls to brighten up the table area. Will definitely dine in again if I am ever in the area.

Family-owned Mediterranean cuisine with awesome m dishes cooked the authentic way by Greek chef. Family and kids friendly environment, BYOB, and friendly staff. So far tried their shawarma sandwiches, gyro sandwich and platters, appetizer platters, and shawarma fries and they were all great. Definitely will come back and strongly recommend this place.

The food tastes great and is quick to the table. The staff is friendly and is guaranteed to make you feel welcomed and appreciated. This is a new fave of ours.

If you’re looking for the best spot to eat in Allentown so this is the place, great Mediterranean food with the touch of Greek culture food. Staff and owner are so nice and humble. Fresh and delicious food with incredible service do go there.

They got me with the oldest trick in the book. Ordered before close and got all this dried out left over food. Simply a gyro and a gyro platter and what we recieved was disrespectful. I could have went to a fast food medittarean place and got way better food (Crispy Spice). I will never, ever, ever, ever go there again or recommend it in a class of place like Alladin (or Crispy Spice). 50 dollars down the toilet. When people want to try upper scale food. This is not the place. There was even mold on the pita from the gyro. The baklava was so dry it mist have sat for days. This place must not get business because there food must sit for days. See if im wrong you will pay alot to find out. I think this might be the worst food in the Lehigh Valley and as Muslims this cannot be righteous to feed people this caliber of food. They are in it for the money.

I stopped at this little restaurant for some takeout on the advice of a family member and was seriously disappointed. I was given the worst excuse for a chicken shawarma that I've ever had. It was nicely rolled up like a submarine sandwich, but when opened up it was a big mess. Aside from how it looked, it really did not taste good at all, in fact it left a bad aftertaste in my mouth and an upset stomach afterward. I had to find an after dinner mint to get rid of that unpleasantness. To add insult to injury, there was so much excess liquid in it that it suddenly dumped at least a tablespoon of sauce all over my shirt which I had to immediately throw in the wash, but after two washings it still left a big permanent stain and was ruined. I also ordered 3 meat kibbee (kibbeh) which looked good but had no taste, even when dipped in a small container of what I assume was supposed to be taziki sauce. The meat was in there but difficult to find. The service was quick, but the man who I assume is the owner was loud and was apparently not having a good day. His interaction with the two ladies in the kitchen did not seem very respectful. When I asked if he had a to-go menu, he started complaining that whomever he had contracted with to print them was not doing their job, and continued to complain that "everything" was not the way it used to be before the pandemic. A $21.00 lesson learned, and believe me I will NEVER go back there again. As someone else on this platform stated, this restaurant knows nothing about how to prepare Arabic food. Soumaya & Sons in Whitehall and True Blue in Emmaus both have excellent Middle Eastern food.

I enjoyed this lunch, and I could not wait to review it. Seasoned really well, and fresh vegetables definitely typed it off. However, the meat is juicy and well seasoned. I met up with my uncle and quickly had to decide where to go eat. So we tried this spot and definitely was the right pick. Give this place a try if you're in the area. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT.

Went in on a slow day, and when I walked in the owner let me know they would be closing earlier than usual but I’d still have plenty of time to eat. He, along with his other workers did an amazing job of not only preparing amazing food quickly but also were very welcoming and accommodating despite the fact they’d be winding down to close soon. I had never been to a Mediterranean restaurant before so I tried the meat pie appetizer and kefta kabob platter since they were new to me. They brought out some pita bread and hummus while I waited for my food to be made. The meat pie was amazing, and he mentioned that they make the dough right there. Everything I tried had incredible flavor packed in without feeling overly spiced or seasoned. The kabob platter also included rice which paired well with the meat. Honestly, it was extremely refreshing to walk into a place I’ve never been yet have the staff treat me with full attention and with friendly attitudes. Back in NY where I’m from, if you walked into a place nearing closing time they’d either kick you out or only let you get simple options they can whip up quickly.
