This is one of my favorite lunch places! Their tomato soup and lemonade are amazing! Staff is always super nice .

Love the new spot. Much more outside seating and the food had really improved. Before they moved I noticed a decline in the quality of their food but at the new spot it's back to delicious.

Best chicken salad I have ever eaten!

Got their strawberry and death by chocolate cakes, to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. Both were Lacking flavor and the flavor they had wasn't great. The cakes looked amazing but I've had better taste and flavor from Lil Debbie's. As a cake connoisseur I'd recommend you. Ot spend the money here.

I don’t understand how I am charged $11 for a 4-5” sandwich. I got the French beef but it came with no tomatoes or onions. There are literally a couple slices of beef on this as well. I pretty much paid $11 for bread with melted cheese on it and a hint of beef. Now, the sandwich is actually good but the fact I paid >$10 for barely a sandwich is the problem.

No more olives on the Greek salad! What's that about? One tablespoon of garbanzos? Chunks of gyro meat instead of sliced? Black wilted lettuce pieces. Need some quality control. Lemon bar was yummy.

I had been wanting try Saladelia, and I finally got the chance. I got the chicken salad sandwich melt. It was so delicious! I also got the basil pasta which I also enjoyed. The serving size is great for the price. I’ll definitely be dining there again 🙂

Very disappointed in the Greek chicken wrap the amount of chicken hardly anything however there was more than enough feta For the price definitely expected a better wrap Like the other location better

Saladelia used to be my go to place for breakfast and lunch. They had by far the best breakfast sandwiches in all of Durham. For years, I'd go there for breakfast and lunch several times per week. Then they got rid of breakfast entirely. It was heartbreaking. They also reduced their lunch sandwich options, eliminating all of my favorite sandwiches. They still have some sandwiches and their atmosphere is decent, but the restaurant isn't the same. There is only 1, yes 1 table to eat inside. So you are stuck with eating outside or take out. They switched to catering focused business, less focus on their true patrons, the local community. Sadly, I've only been there twice in the past two years. The food was fine, but nothing special. There are much better lunch restaurant options just a minute down the road, with fresh, farm-to-table food.

Loving this new location! Have been a customer for many many (over 20) years. Food did not disappoint. The gyro was excellent. The outside seating is far enough off the main road to be cozy and inviting — stay a while. And don’t forget to get a piece (or two) of the baklava.

Great food, mediocre service. Be prepared for a half-hour wait for pre-prepared, to-go orders. Hire more employees, please!

Ham and gruyere croissant was fresh and delicious, best I have had in ages. Vietnamese coffee also very satisfying. Crumb cake not so much. Not fresh, seemed a few days old. Staff are friendly and prices reasonable. Wish the outdoor tables did not face highway.

Such a gem right off 15-501 with a nice indoor (limited seating) and fantastic outdoor sheltered with AC area! Highly recommend as their food is fantastic and they are a Durham local fave for many many years!!

Great atmosphere but unfortunately I wasn’t sure what type of food i was eating. The chicken wrap was dry and some fries were soggy and others burnt. The shawarma was also very wet and tasted like it was boiled pulled meat not shaved and crispy. The seasoning has a pickled taste. The shawarma leaked seasoning and grease since it was so wet. Just not what we were expecting.

Customer service was excellent and the Greek chicken wrap was decent. Unfortunately they gave me burnt chips which greatly diminished the enjoyment of my food. No one likes burnt chips. Will probably not re-visit. Disappointed as this was my first visit and a friend recommended.

Soooooo yummy! Everything I've had is the best! Highly recommend the gyro, chickpea salad, and lemon bar, but I'm sure everything else is also excellent!

The food made me excited, the owner made me want to listen his life story.

Had to feed a crowd of teenagers in a school play for dress rehearsal. I was able to use the catering menu to order individual boxed sandwiches, sides and dessert for a reasonable price. Saladelia printed individual names, menu option and food allergies (if any) on each box. There was some confusion around delivery or pick up of the order, but they sorted it all out with a smile and wonderful service. Will definitely use the catering again. Thank you.

Not your every day lunch. Very refreshing to have lots of choices in salads and baked goods. Great customer service as well.

Our office had food catered for work & it was Delicious! The chicken shawarma pita is sooo good! I'll Definitely get this again!

I miss the old location's coffee house huge space to hang out. BUT the new location is easy to find and has plenty of parking. I love the baked Salmon and usually get the meal with 2 sides. Salads are yummy, beet salad is wonderfully flavored. Lots to choose from. And cookies and cakes too!

I love this restaurant and I make sure to go every time I'm in town. If you like Lebanese type food, they have some of the best recipes in the world. I def recommend this place to travelers and locals. The spanicoputa is not as good as it was a decade ago, but the salads are fresh, and it is a scratch kitchen. I recommend salmon, grape leaves, fatosh, taboule, the pita and the humus. They have an incredible bakery, and the baklava is also great. I love the lemon bar and the blonde the most but the salted caramel brownie is also delicious. The lemonade is made fresh but not overly sweetened.

Love the gluten free bread they get from a local bakery. I wish they had a seperate fryer for freshly fried potatoe chips but baby steps! If you get the chicken sharwma sandwich ask for a sude of tzatziki sauce. Great outdoor seating. We love to go there around dusk and enjoy the breeze.

I think the food here is great. However, I think it's best to think of this place as a take out place. They no longer have indoor seating and on a really hot and humid day, it's not pleasurable to eat outside even in the shade of the tent. I have the food a 5 but atmosphere a 3.

Absolutely the perfect place for a lunch. In an unexpected location just off of 15/501 it is still convenient to shopping but somehow feels secluded. The patio is a really nice touch and is always clean and cozy. I almost always get the Turkey pesto wrap but the chicken souvlaki is also great and the selection of small items is amazing. It's a Durham staple for me! Update for new location! I actually love the convenience of the new location and the patio size is really nice! The food is still just as delicious and the staff is friendly and fast as always!

I would not recommend this restaurant they have turned into a catering business that has a limited over priced menu for the public. The food was not even that good. Years ago I ate at Saladeli all the time.

The food was pretty awesome and reasonably priced. My only complaint was the Felafel was a touch but dry. Outside dining is great. Service was fast and convenient. They don't take cash though. Cards only.

Tried ordering ahead but App I was using said it would be 41minutes before I picked up. Drove there in 5 and out the door in 5 more.

Outdoor seating, delicious chicken salad melt

The food is great - I had the Chicken Shawarma. The evening staff (white and black girl) can be a bit rude. The white girl was handling a customer's phone at the register because his gift card wasn't working, and it was on his phone. When she was done with him, she went to reach for my food. I asked her to let the other girl get the food since she had just finished at the register and was handling a customer's phone. She became offended, and I explained to her that she had just finished handling a customer's mobile phone, and I'm uncomfortable with her handling my food without first washing her hands. She became offended again, and I said, "I think it's a reasonable and standard practice at a restaurant to wash your hands between handling cash or other objects, and then handling food. Mobile phones harbor a lot of germs." She then went to wash her hands and put on gloves while the black girl scooped my hummus. Then, the white and black girl arrived at the station where the food was at the same time and the white girl threw her hands up in the air with her palms spread as if to gesture, "I'm not touching it." I just shook my head at her passive agressiveness. The black girl steps in any other time when someone is having an issue, but she remained silent this time and gave me the vibe that she was annoyed by my request as well. Restaurant people can be so nasty and are likely the reason that many of us end up with a cold and have no idea how we caught it. They need to remember that they aren't at home making their own food. They're making other people's food and should take cautionary measures to not spread germs. This has been my expectation both before the pandemic and today. Whether it's "C", the flu, or the common cold, it's all the same to me in that it throws off your life and makes you feel miserable for three weeks.

Saladalia provides consistently good meals. A fairly diverse menu. Good dessert and coffee. Enjoy.

Absolutely delicious, fresh, and reasonably priced food. Saladel!a is my go-to spot when I’m looking for something light & refreshing, and they’ve got plenty of options for heartier entrees too. It’s my favorite spot for Mediterranean food in Durham! They’ve also got a full coffee bar, smoothies, salads, and baked goods. And they do it all so well! So thrilled that we found this place! It’s a regular for us now. (Also, their outdoor seating is wonderful if you want to bring your dog with you out to eat!)

The previous Saladelia location was a friendly place where you meet a friend for coffee/food or order online with curbside delivery. The new location is the opposite. It seems like the focus is on catering and not customers or casual dining. The location is difficult to get to and the only seating is outside. There are not a lot of parking spaces with none marked for online order pickup. I ordered online yesterday and checked the box for curbside pickup but ended up going inside to get my order. The food was okay but not great. There are other Mediterranean restaurants in the area that have indoor seating and curbside pickup so pretty sure that Saladelia won’t be getting any repeat business from me.

All in all good experience. Walking in the atmosphere is very clean and tidy. The cashier was very friendly and helped find what I was looking for on the menu. I appreciate the fact that she acknowledged I was kind of in a rush and got my food out pretty quickly. I ordered the Greek salad no chickpeas add olives and add grilled chicken Togo. I was a little frustrated that the pita points were very well done but I’m assuming they’re supposed to replicate croutons. The salad came in the circular bowl pictured I didn’t love that I had to disassemble and cut everything then reassemble but it was well worth it. The salad is very tasty, fresh, and flavorful. The vinaigrette that came with the salad is delicious. I am a very satisfied customer and will be back to try a sandwich soon. My total was about 16$. This was a dinner salad so very reasonably priced.

Two take out orders in a row that they didn’t get right - just plain wrong orders. Straighten out your cook.

My wife and I have always enjoyed dining at Saladelia, so it was with surprise and deep disappointment that we encountered an issue with our most recent order: two chicken kabob platters. Upon tucking into our meal, we discovered that the chicken was raw on the inside, a sight that would unsettle anyone, but was particularly concerning as my wife is currently pregnant. We called the restaurant and they offered for us to bring it back to “cook it more”, but we opted to just getting our many back instead. Saladelia has always been one of our go-to spots, but this incident has led us to question their food safety standards. We truly hope that they address this seriously and reassess their food preparation practices to ensure this never happens again. For now, we’re heartbroken that we may need to find a new favorite Mediterranean restaurant.

Food was good especially the Salmon and falafel. The restaurant is small with only a small area for inside dining. It appeared that most people eat outside or takeout.

The food is ample reason to frequent Saladelia. But now that their new location is so beautifully landscaped there is even more reason to frequent Saladelia. Not only is the outside dining area bordered by planters with a variety of lovely, interesting plants but the area adjacent to the parking lot is also attractively landscaped. They ran out of falafel and that was the entree that was vegetarian, but I had some hummus and pita instead and it was okay…

Great little lunch place, a tad expensive, but good quality food - great pastries are worth it

She give me a dinner with out brade when I get home there is no bread to roll the food. the charge about $26.00 I give tip cash $5.00 I didn't do anything wrong my home is 30min away.

It's a cute little place and the food is always delicious. By far the best coffee I've had and I love the healthy and fresh options.

Partner suggested we try (he's had in years past) and it was delicious! I had the chicken melt and it was divine. Partner had the kabobs with beet salad and tabbouleh. Limited dine in space but larger nice covered outdoor space.

On a recent visit I ordered a gyro sandwich with a side of tabbouleh. Both charges were significantly higher than published on the internet with the side being $11.99, almost 2x the published price. When I asked the manager about this she asked me where I was seeing prices because" I was not the first person to say this". I showed her the Google entry for the menu and she acknowledged the problem but did not indicate that anything was going to be done. When I asked where the pricing in the store was for the tabbouleh I was told the pricing was not on their menu nor listed anywhere else is the store. I will not be back, which is a shame , because their gyros are the best in Durham.

Saladalia has Mediterranean fare with exemplary desserts. There is outdoor seating or as most choose to do - takeout. A delicious spot for lunch or dinner. I recommend Saladalia!

The beef baguette sandwich is to DIE for. Everything about it it seems to me was crafted to perfection. I always just order that with their homemade chips and it's mwah, chefs kiss.

Best Broccoli and Cheddar Quiche I have ever had, chicken salad delicious but I would have liked to see it just a tad creamier. This sounds a little odd but the pita chips are Awhmazing! Don't take my word for it cuz they have a sampler set out with their pita chips and pimento cheese(oh yeah, which I also bought). This is one of my new fave places, cannot wait to get back. Waitstaff was very friendly.

My girlfriend recommended this place and I’m quite impressed. Very affordable and filling, we each got a platter-style entree. The lemon bar is a must-have - probably one of my favorite sweets that I’ve had in recent memory.

Delicious fresh Mediterranean style raw and cooked dishes. The hummus is just wow as is the baklava. I’m making my way around all the salads so still forming an opinion. The salads so far have interesting ingredients ( as in the couscous) but you may want to season yours as mine was a bit bland. I am surprised I didn’t see more people there. It is delicious overall for vegan vegetarian and meat eaters alike m. Enjoy!

I love Saladelia! I get lunch every Saturday there and even had them cater my bridal party while I got ready for my wedding! Cannot say enough about how much I love this restaurant.

New location, same great food. My go to is the garden salad with chicken salad on top of it. Perfect everytime! I love the homemade dressing with the crispy pitas. This is the second time I have tried the order ahead feature on the website and my food was ready and correct when I arrived. I will definitely go again in the near future.

Coffee, ambiance, food... everything is delicious and relaxing atmosphere!

It's the flavor and quality of food that is typically delivered by a catering company that also operates as a restaurant. Lacks flavor and seasoning across the board. I had their falafel mezze and for a place that seemed to pride themselves on Mediterranean inspired food, they did the falafel no service. It was cold and was maybe fried when it was originally made, but that seemed like it was a while ago. It had the texture of cornbread, probably because they are using chickpea flour instead of grounding up chickpeas. It seems like they have a following, but this is not the place for me, and I wouldnt go back.

The Gyro and chicken shawarma were dry dry dry! The pita was thick, dry and not toasted. The flavor of the shawarma wasn’t tasty. I wouldn’t buy again. I would try a drink and dessert perhaps. It’s clean and seating outside looks nice.

I like that you can really see into the kitchen at the new location. Everything here is really good and I love their new spot but they need to update their menu. If it’s on the menu they should be prepared to make that item. Example, if I can’t get through by calling and I ask kids what they want to eat… and I drive over. Well, they should make what the kids chose on the online menu. That is truly annoying but my only complaint… food is awesome

This will work in nice weather but give a peek into the huge kitchen and you quickly realize this place now wants to do catering a d limited winter table service. No longer a reliable place to hang outand get good food. 39 this morning and inside at the single table was a student whoordered a small coffee and two people gluded to their laptops. Those seats won't turn anytime soon and if 4 other people show up wanting to eat lunch inside there isno roomfor them. I get the more limited menu. But the decision to have 10 seats inside is a bad one.Enjoythe big kitchen, but unless we come early there's zerooption to eat inside.

I used to love Saladelia in their old location, now in a new sleek setting. Just got hosed, having to pay $20 for the large container - 28 oz. of kale salad. What extortion! Not only that, they are now "cashless" accepting only credit cards. Not going back.

Good food. Great staff. UPDATE: big change in business. In the new facility (11/22) there is very little seating. About 10 tables outside Now, only ONE table inside. this is mostly a catering site. A sad change for me

This has been our go to place for work lunches for many years. Unfortunately, since Saladelia moved, the menu changed and is very limited and there is virtually no inside seating. Today is a cold December day and we had to eat outside. Several of our favorites were no longer available. Will not visit here again!

This place is perfect for my family and I. The food, drinks, and deserts are all good. We love to go here very often. The staff is great and friendly. The energy and vibe of this place is great. We will be following them to their new location.

Really nice place! The Shawarma was really good, the dessert was not great but it was ok...also got a Cappuccino that was good! Prices were not that bad...so definitely a place to go back.

When places say "fresh baked" I'm sceptical, but the food here is legit fresh. The chocolate chip scone tastes like it just came out of the oven. Menu also has lots of vegan friendly options which is hard to find around here and everything is clearly labeled if it is vegan. Will definitely be back!!!

Went there for breakfast based on menu on their webpage. When there I was took "WE DO NOT SERVE BREAKFAST." Needless to say I was disappointed and did not make a purchase. Their website and online menu need to be updated.

Stay away! As long as I remember this last experience, I won’t be back. Ordered family dinner plus one gyro for curbside pickup. Wife arrives after picking up daughter from daycare and has to wait 20 mins (hung up on a few times) for food to be brought out. Got home only to realize some items are missing (e.g. gyro, tzatziki, etc.). I tried calling but no one answers the phone.

The quality of the food, customer service and ambience have deteriorated here. Portion size is skimpy and it's just not as good as it used to be. I spent 16$ on a platter and ice tea and could have gotten a way better lunch elsewhere for that amount.

Chicken shawarma was bland and packed with too much chicken. It isn't even a legit shawarma, they just put some giant cuts of prepackaged chicken breast in a pita with some veggies. This might fool townies in Durham but it doesn't fool me.

My favorite for this style of food.
