Was there from the UK last November should be back again September time - not to be missed a great night out. I might even play a couple of tunes if they will let me!

We spent time here during the hurricane Debby & service was fantastic! Great environment & love the live music. Excited to go back when it's nicer!

Came here night of my 21st birthday with a group of 5. The group was My mom,her friend, my grandmother and my friend. When I walked in here i watched a bartender stare me down and whisper to an employee clearly about me as she didnt break eye contact with me while doing so. It’s my birthday in a few minutes so I ignore it and try to stay in a good mood . My mom and my grandma go get a drink from the bar and come sit back down with us. Minutes later it hits 12am so me and my mom go up to the bar to buy l my first drink. My mom excitedly says “It’s her 21st birthday im her mom I wanna buy her first drink” When I tell you this bartender completely disregards my mom , gave me the nastiest look and says in the meanest tone “ Well I’m gonna need to see the other girl at your tables ID” (talking about my friend) This wasn’t an issue 10 minutes ago when they served 2 people in my group drinks but now it’s a issue for me? Hmmm weird. Once again witha dirty look and terrible tone she then says since my friend is 20 she has to leave or I can’t have a drink ! Keep in mind she literally JUST gave 2 other people in my group drinks. So my mom and grandma have a whole drink go to waste. we all leave bcuz we aren’t having one person sit back at our place alone on our vacation. N just an fyi This wasn’t a problem at any other bars we went to on our whole vacation! Nobody asked for my friends id when I order a drink. Just mine. If she couldn’t be there that’s fine I truly understand!! It’s the way we were spoken to,looked at, and treated as a whole. It seriously was shocking and sad. Especially as the girl knew it was my birthday and that I legally I CAN have a drink. She could have spared me the dirty looks, whispering, and trashy tone, and just NICELY tell us we have to go. But nope just a very mean girl and I’m so glad she didnt get our money! She Had no people skills what so ever . Learn how to speak to people. She looked and acted so miserable !

We tried to go here twice on our stay (once at 11:45pm on a Tuesday & once at 12:15am on a Friday). Both times they told us they were closing and wouldn’t allow us in. I can’t vouch for anything but the fact that they’re house aren’t accurate & their service is subpar

My husband and I went on a vacation just the 2 of us and stayed down the street at the Cambria hotel. We ended almost every night here watching a band. Every night is something different . Great little bar and a must if you're in the area. We didn't eat there so not sure about the food but staff was pretty nice.

Came here from Michigsn as recommended to be disappointed, rudest waitresses ever so we left!

The wings were smoked and excellent without any sauce. The bartender, Denise was so nice and people friendly! How could you not love her! She made our day!!!!

The front of the house needs to get it together. My husband picked up 3 salads and a soup...observed a well to do elderly man get treated like garbage!! The food runner for our order was an angel....this wasn't the first time we've had this experience. Fortunately/unfortunately they have some menu items we love and look forward to, however we have to be right with God before we come in.....seriously from experience, I've been at the hostess station in my youth, I get it, not glamorous, but teach them to do better.....

Best venue on the beach for live music - when there's a good band. That said, the talent lineup is sometimes questionable. But the backyard is amazing! They're shutting the current venue down and moving across the street, which I hope doesn't change the atmosphere - though I fear it will.

Local bar with a HUGE personality. Live bands each night in/outside. Bar staff are great. Had the chance to meet the shop/barowner-very cool businesswoman who knows A LOT about the area. Plenty of parking in the area and bar prices are great. There's NO WAY you can't enjoy Saltwater Hippie!

If you are looking for high end, turn around and run. Looking for fun, local, down and dirty? WELCOME to Saltwater Hippie. Live music either/or inside or outside. Basic pub grub. Pleeeeenty of beer and other drinks. Always good always fun. A place to actually meet people. And they also have an appearance shop- which seems to be busier the later it gets. Soon the bar will have to give way and move across the street. So enjoy the outdoor section as long as you can- since the new location. Will not have an outdoor area.

Saltwater hippie is a cool little beach bar. Lots of Locals gather there. It’s got such a laid-back atmosphere and it’s just a cool place. You can order food from the menu of the Italian restaurant next-door. The food is pretty good. Madeira Beach is literally a block away. It’s sister Bar, the brass captain is across the street and is also fun.

Why are beer bottles $5? I will continue to watch performers while drinking water and eating nothing. How much are a pack of saltine crackers? I ate the spinach wrap w blackened chix and cole slaw. Wasn't blackened and the Cole slaw had hints of the smell of bleach. Subpar at the very least. Almost sent it back. Eh

Please FIXXXX your bathrooms. Smells like it needs a THOROUGHHHHHH cleaning. Shouldn't serve food like this. PLEASE!!!

This place is awesome. Great atmosphere. Bartender's and wait staff are fun and punctual. I'd give it five stars if the bathrooms were better.

Overcharged me and not worth it. Got 3 beers and was overcharged for 35 dollars.

1000% RACIST ESTABLISHMENT Really wish I could give it negative stars. I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent visit to this establishment. Our out-of-country friend, who presented a valid passport in English and Spanish, was inexplicably denied service, seemingly due to her darker complexion, which was a distressing display of flat-out racism. (I wonder if the bartender would have treated white-skinned Canadians with passports the same way). Three members of our group are U.S. military VETERANS, making the discriminatory treatment even more disheartening. When we tried to discuss the matter with the bar manager (or owner), we were met with dismissiveness, as the manager stated, "I have to side with my bartender." To add to the frustration, we had already paid for our drinks before being forced to leave, but we did not receive a refund and were not allowed to finish our drinks. Our drinks were aggressively removed from our hands. Certainly, the RUDEST bartender I've ever encountered (small, skinny blonde. Didn't catch her name). This lack of accountability and poor customer service tarnished our overall experience. As patrons, we expected fairness and respect, qualities sorely lacking here. I will be sure to leave this review on multiple online platforms. And will further bring this up at VFW and American Legion (both of which we are members). Such as shame, since we would make this place a frequent go-to spot. No more.

Had so much fun at this place. My daughter's bf was playing and it was an amazing show.. love the outdoor part.. prices are not bad at all for a cute lil beach bar .. Great music inside and out .. Ty

This is a fun place to listen to live music and feel like you’re on a vacation at a beach. Plenty of Outside seating makes it comfortable for those that want to be near the fun but not part of the crowd inside. The inside is a laughing chatty atmosphere. It feels like you went to a friend of a friends backyard party! A good place to Stop in and enjoy after a day at the shore.

Or to even just go during the day for lunch. The staff was very accommodating and polite. Wasn't a long wait to get seated as well. They had a great live band as well

Nice large outdoor seating area in back, but the band was inside for some reason and everyone was crammed in with only a few tables for sitting and a tiny dance area 🤨 there are also picnic tables in front by the road. Drinks are cheap. No parking lot. Paid parking around the area

Very very VERY cool place. Staff and employees are so nice, funny, and welcoming to everyone. The drinks are really good and at a decent price. The location has a beautiful sunset and parking is surprisingly spacious which is a rare these days lol. Such a cool place with all the decor they have. Would recommend to anyone in the area!

So, I’m a regular at Saltwater Hippie and Brass Captains. I love them both! Both are bars in Madeira for sure! 100%. I mainly go on the weekends. But a couple Fridays ago I went to day drink for an occasion, and omg! I’m so glad I did! The blonde god behind the bar omg!!!!! Steve with the blonde locks and beard and tan…… let’s just say, he is was sexy specimen! He honestly is damn near perfect. His smile and personality just makes it all even better. And those eyes… Jesus…. That man is sexy. I have loved Hippie and Brass for years but now I will be a day drinker for sure to see him. I’m still sad they will be gone soon! Star open as long as possible please! #HippieForLife

This may look like a regular old Bloody Mary, but it’s NOT! It’s a fantastic spicy bloody. Not everyone can make ‘em right, but this bartender, Terry, makes a VERY tasty and spicy bloody! Yum! Not even my Fog Cutter at the Helm compares to this! And the little shop next door has awesome surf apparel! - mostly men’s! But our favorite brand

Absolutely Loved the fact the live music included David Allen Coe My Chicago Italian sub was Phenomenal the wife had a chicken parm sub the bread was fantastic but it was just regular chicken tenders with sauce and cheese but good, our friend had the blackened chicken wrap that was decent, All in all it was a cool place to have dinner and live music

Such a cute spot across the street from the beach. Very reasonable prices. Drinks were 4 bucks - can’t beat that! Live music every single day starting at 7. Bartenders are super friendly and they also have food you can order that the Italian restaurant makes next door.
