Best Gluten free restaurant in the area!

Pretty pricey and they charge a undisclosed $20 service fee..for party's of two🤨..food was a solid 7.8 outta ten.but the Brazilian lemonade is fire...not worth the money..my bill was 125.41 but my food only came out to $93..so the rest ($32)was basically just to be there and pay with my debit card...but I would suggest to try atleast once in life as a gift to yourself..but not repeated outings..hope this was helpful.

10 STARS! I have Celiac Spru disease. This is THE ONLY 100% gluten free restaurant in NJ. Food is always outstanding. I am working (eating) my way thru the menu. I live almost 20 miles away but still will make that 19 mile round trip to go there. Many restaurants will say they can accommodate gf but in reality they are not careful. Samba not only has the food but the service and atmosphere as well. It is a beautiful restaurant. So lucky my daughter found this place for me.

Celebrated our 15 year wedding anniversary at Samba. The food was delicious and the service was great. It is also a BYOB.

Overall Samba’s atmosphere is beautiful and the service is great.. however, the food .. not so much. Everything we ordered either lacked flavor or was dry. This is definitely not an authentic Brazilian restaurant .

Place is awesome! Coming here we had no clue it was gluten free, but my wife was excited because she can’t eat gluten. Staff was fantastic, food was great and the place is really cute. Was a great way to spend our 17th anniversary. Great place!

Some of the most outstanding food I’ve ever had!! From appetizer to dessert, every single item was out of this world!!

Cute design & good service but food was VERY expensive and underwhelming. Just to give you an idea—a small order of French fries is $13! They also add automatic gratuity to ALL checks which is pretty unusual. With all the other great spots in Montclair, I wouldn’t recommend Samba.

Ok brunch food, the variety is little lacking. Nothing really stands out that would make me return but good place overall to try for the first time! They make ur smoothies tasty and pretty tho!

This restaurant is amazing. Fantastic for celiacs because the entire menu is gluten free (dedicated GF establishment), including all of the desserts! The food was delicious and flavorful. You have to try the cheese bread for an appetizer. It was the best GF bread I’ve ever had in my life… Nothing will ever top it. The ambiance and atmosphere was relaxing and earthy. Awesome dining experience!!

We celebrated my sister's birthday here. The food was scrumptious. The staff were friendly and accommodating due to my sister being a picky vegan. She loved her salad. They even provided her a complimentary vegan dessert for her birthday. We will definitely return. This restaurant was recommended by a staff member at Alchemy. This was a great recommendation!

The food and desserts were delicious and the service was very good. I highly recommend this place.

Junior was our waiter and he was so warm, welcoming and kind from the moment we walked up. We tried a variety of food from the menu and everything was flavorful and delicious. Highlights were the appetizers, we had shrimp and garlic, king crab croquettes, the sausage and yuca, and the fried chicken. Wow, each dish was amazing. Standout entree was the mani mahi, shrimp and mashed yuca. The steaks were all great as well albeit a bit over cooked. For dessert, we tried the chocolate mousse and the churros and they also brought out flan on the house. Each item was great and presented so beautifully. A wonderful nightcap to a girls day in Montclair. Would definitely recommend.

This is my favorite Montclair restaurant and our go to for date nights and celebrations. The food is always impeccable and the service is fantastic. We love the welcoming and beautiful atmosphere. The decoration is so well done and we love admiring the wall art. My favorite lunch meal is always the grilled chicken panini!

We had such an amazing dinner. Service was great, the food incredible and the fresh squeezed juices were delicious. We are definitely coming back and if you are looking for a place with great food and ambience, Samba Montclair is your place! Thanks the whole crew for making our birthday dinner special!

Not worth the money. Plus, please remember that tipping is an optional thing; this is not a mandate or a state/federal law. Requiring your patrons to pay 20% for gratuity regardless of the size of the party is a bit of a stretch. Your business seems to be doing well; pay your employees a fair salary; this does not have to come out of my pocket; my contribution ends when I step into your restaurant to eat because, as you know, options are endless in your area. Do better!

I must say, I recommend this restaurant for Brazilian. Overall, a wee bit pricey but you get what you pay for - once in a while type of restaurant to go to - food quality was excellent, and service was pretty great and responsive. Ample, private, free parking available. Ambiance, I thought was quite homey.

Wonderful food and phenomenal service (Junior was awesome, helping us navigate the menu and making delicious recommendations). My wife and I have been there for special occasions like Valentine’s Day and date nights. We’ve never left disappointed.

Our FAVORITE place to eat when we come to NJ. I have celiac and I’m sensitive to corn, too. Finding a dedicated gluten free corn free restaurant is a dream come true! I wish this restaurant would come to Maryland. We have been here four times (twice on this trip) and each time is amazing. Great service, warm and genuine servers, and the best atmosphere! Everything was so good but the Brazilian truffles were ridiculous tonight. SO good!!!

Great restaurant with an incredibly friendly staff. I've been coming here for years and the atmosphere is always warm and welcoming. As a celiac, it's so wonderful to have gf options so close to home. Anyone that's gluten free needs to try this place!

I've removed 2 stars from my original review, after our last visit (which was our 3rd), during which we spent over $200.00. The prices - which were recently raised - equal those of any fine-dining establishment however, the SERVICE needs significant improvement: empty bottles left on our table, our table wasn't cleaned between courses, and a take-home bag was almost forgotten by our server. SERVICE should come first at any restaurant but with Samba's high prices, we were disappointed and frustrated. A 20% gratuity is compulsory, so there is no motivation for the servers to function better, beyond their obviously inadequate training. The ambiance is visually lovely at first glance, but the giant sisal placemats are clumsy and unhygenic, the hard wooden chairs make sitting unbearable (maybe that's the point), and it's crowded. A couple who arrived doused in cologne overpowered our senses and we left with our meals unfinished. Lastly, the photo below is of a CHICKEN BONE that we found in one of the Salgadinhos Sortidos! My wife discovered it in her mouth, while we were eating our leftovers at home. We promptly threw the rest into the trash. I used to enjoy the food here very much, because it is gluten free, but the aforementioned details - plus the food was very greasy this last time and the beans weren't cooked correctly - are reason never to return.

In my opinion, all the restaurant has going is the ambiance. I get setting a dining limit of 2 hrs, but adding a 20% gratuity automatically is ridiculous. Don’t get me wrong, our waiter was friendly, but let me decide what my tip percentage is. The food was just ok, and the portion was small for what they charged. A couple that sat next to us commented about the food portion. Overall, it was just ok.

Food was delicious as always!! Its a favorite of our family. The cheese bread, salads, chicken and sauces are superb. Absolutely love their fresh strawberry mint juice and the coconut sorbet for desert!!! Its a neighborhood gem! The service is incredible and easy on eyes :) I also love the atmosphere with a the plants and decor. Its a very spot.

I would highly recommend this place to everybody. The food and atmosphere are everything 💯especially the servers. They’re so amazing! They really gave us the best service ever. We celebrated our anniversary here and they gave us free dessert after to take home as a gift so sweet♥️perfect place for any occasion small or big. 5/5

Really nice place. Great ambiance, decor, and food. You are able to have a conversation without screaming over the music. Food selection is good. It's BYOB which is a nice plus.

Skirt steak and parm truffle fries are the favorite. The chocolate mousse and the churro thing are divine. All gluten free, fresh squeezed juices and charming waiters with Brazilian accents :)

My daughter and I went last night. We enjoyed the decor, even of the bathrooms. The vibe was just right and I appreciated the attentive but unintrusive service. The food was fantastic! We started with the Cestinha de pão de queijo (little basket of farm cheese bread). Made with tapioca flour instead of wheat flour, it was the farthest thing from a mediocre bread replacement, far surpassing the taste and texture of most good breads. I ordered the Prato Vegano (vegetarian plate: sautéed okra, sautéed collard greens, fried sweet plantains, fried yuca, sautéed seasonal vegetables), which was overall terrific. The yuca didn’t have a lot of flavor, and would have made for a dry dish on its own, but the moisture and flavor of all the other components largely made up for that, especially the collard greens, which were probably the best I’ve ever eaten. My daughter had the Salmão ao molho de maracuhã (Atlantic grilled salmon with passion fruit reduction, sautéed seasonal vegetables), which she really liked. Although a bit on the expensive side, the meal was well worth it.

Food was delicious and healthy. Beautiful atmosphere with good music too. 100% recommend if you’re planning to stop by for a quick brunch break or for dinner.

We had a great time here, the staff is friendly, the garlic shrimp and shrimp curry were amazing and the steaks were cooked well with great mashed potatoes! Also everything is gluten free! Great addition to Montclair and different than the usual Brazilian rodizio.

The food was very average. I ordered a medium cooked salmon and it was way overcooked. I give them plus for the ambiance, great design. However, with the little tables there’s very little space for dining and it’s uncomfortable. It was my second time there and second time I was dissatisfied with the food. I won’t be coming again.
