Food was really tasty and good portioned. A nice fun date spot!

Best martini ever. Oh, and the seafood is perfect. It's fresh and tasty. You get good portions. And the topping is that staff is really good to you and treat you like they are happy you came to visit.

Phenomenal tapas restaurant. Thematic decor, art, and music. Huge tapas selection. Montaditos of sweet caramelized onion atop succulent steak, cheese, and toasted warm bread. Octopus on watercress salad was perfectly tender with nice char. Shrimp ceviche vinegar punch nicely balanced by avocado creaminess. Bread pudding with nuts and fruits à la mode was to die for. Friendly staff, patient and helpful explaining menu. Hugely recommended.

For the price not enough food, the meat was raw I could not eat it. Sad to say the waitress do not check on you and rude.

I liked this place. The food was very good except for the chicken empanadas which I didn’t really care for. The food came out fast, the service was great, and so were the prices. I’ll definitely be back.

Ate here memorial Day weekend. Service and food (tapas) was outstanding. Will go again when are back next weekend.

We also really liked the plantain fritters and the empanadas. The sangria was lovely and a generous serving. My husband had a Non-A mojito which was very tasty. The restaurant would be perfect with an outdoor dining area—it’s in a strip mall, so not an option—but the ambiance indoors as quite pleasant.

They charge red 20% tips on the bill for a party of two and 6% for using credit card.I’d love to to tip good service if they had but it’s not acceptable that they put it on my bill directly. Fantastic Spanish style tapas, delicious Paella, and as the name suggests, some of the best Sangria I've had in the area. The fun yet relaxed vibe of Sangria is enough to invite you in, but the decadent flavors of the food is what keeps you coming back. The style is exactly what you'd expect from Spanish tapas, but you really have to taste it to realize how much care is put into designing each dish. My favorite way to experience Sangria is with a large group, getting a large sampling of the many tapas they offer. Every bite is a journey through flavors, and it's hard to choose just a few of my favorites, but I can tell you every time we go we make sure to order the Croquets, the montaditos, and what has easily become my wife's favorite dish of anywhere we've gone, the Gorditos. Additionally, while there is a variety of different Sangrias to try, you can never go wrong with their traditional Red. On our most recent visit, we were treated to a newcomer to their menu that was an out of this world mixing of flavors, the Enrollados de Carne. All in all, for large gatherings or an intimate date night there are few things as enjoyable, fun and comfortable as dining at Sangria.

First time there, and we love Spanish food. The food was mediocre. The shrimp and garlic appetizer didn’t have much flavor in the garlic bread was very hard.The croquetas were delicious! The calamari was delicious! The churrasco was good but the sides- potatoes and rice didn’t have much flavor at all. The chicken dish was just bland chicken and bland rice

Decent food and good atmosphere but the 20% mandatory tip for a party of 2 and the additional $7 random fee applied on top of our bill is just ridiculous, especially given that none of these were mentioned either in the menu or by our waitress. This was my 3rd time here but probably won't be going back again.

Food is outrageous. Service is a TEN out of TEN. I travel for work and this is my go-to spot in Northern NJ. I would encourage you to try the Gordoto. Unreal.

Absolutely amazing! Amanda and Ivan treated my freind and I like VIP's and made sure our orders were pleasant and were very attentive. Food most importantly was amazing, Paella Mixta and the Churrasquito were beyond delicious. I had to order another order of Churrasquito.

Haven’t been here in a few months heard the owners had stopped being involved and it really felt like the inmates were running the asylum here staff just yelling at each other and added a gratuity to my check

My family and I visited for the first time earlier this week and we visited again yesterday around 5pm . The service was exception specially by the young Puerto Rican waitress we had about three days ago. The gentleman who helps out with bringing the food was cordial as well. And our very tall and a bit more mature waitress from yesterday at first was a bit distracted and talking to the bartender. However, when I went to get her right after she was prompt and provided excellent service . We were famished and the food was amazing. I think this is the best restaurant in the area. I tried a few different ones and this one both on price and quality is thus far the best one. We had the Tablón, Hot dog Paella , Chicken and Shrimp paella (vegetarian option plus add ons) , mariscada paella , tostones and chorizo tapas , the churros with hot chocolate , ice cream , and red sangria .

Love the croquetas de bacalao, avocado ceviche and the grilled octopus! La creme de la creme is the bread pudding, OMG!

The food wasn’t bad, but when it came time to pay, they charged me 1 price and then proceeded to charge an additional $30 on top of the tip I gave them. Would recommend only paying with cash.

Really disappointing experience from drinks to dood to check settlement. 1. Blend margaritas that lack flavor. Jalapeño margarita was sweet in flavor and lacked any spike and kick. Switches to sangria and the fruits and wine were stale and bitter. Felt like they were sitting for a week turning into vinegar 2. Patatos bravas were deep fried potatoes thrown into mayo and paprika- not good. 3. Empanadas with beef lacked any flavor whatsoever 3. Shrimp in garlic sauce were a huge disappointment. A simple dish requiring olive oil and garlic was butchered and turned into boiled shrimp served on lemon syrupy soup. Awful. 4. Mussels were served in the same soupy garlic substance as shrimp. 5. Dates wrapped with bacon were stuffed with some sweet goat cheese that ruined the typical good flavor of this tapas. 6. Octopus was OK but came in a tiny portion and was the best dish of the night. 7. Gave up on food and order cheese and meet platter to finish the meal. 8. The disappointment did not end there- the manager added $8 for credit card fees and a 20% service charge - explaining that All restaurants do this now. The 20% charge was removed and I left a 16% tip - after all it the waitress wasn’t at fault for food quality. Overall I am shocked that anyone comes back to this place. I have to admit that it was busy on Fri night. I would not recommend anyone go there. Just poor food quality and you can do so much better with all the options in north jersey.

Have eaten here several times. Really great tapas place in Mahwah! Everything we ordered was super delicious except for patatas bravas. Servers are nice and friendly.

Really enjoyed this place. It's located in a "strip mall" but much nicer than what you're probably thinking. For food I gave it 4 stars. My wife and I ordered 3 appetizers. I only gave the food 4 stars because the skirt steak was a little bit more cooked than what we like. The scallop/avocado/cucumber appetizer was absolutely delicious (my favorite). The shrimp appetizer was also delicious. They use plenty of garlic in their food. Lots of delicious seasoning. We did have the tres leches cake for dessert which was delicious. All of their desserts are made in house with the exception of the molten lava cake. For atmosphere I gave it 4 stars. It is nicely decorated and very clean. The acoustics are very loud, but to be fair, that does play into the joyful surroundings they clearly look to create. When they do a birthday celebration they play a fun tune over the high quality sound system while walking to the table with all the patrons in the restaurant clapping along. When we were there it was pretty chilly with the air vents blowing toward our table. So much so that we asked to move a few tables over which they did with no problem at all. Finally, I gave the service 5 stars. Our waitress was attentive, very friendly, interactive, professional and visited the table frequently. Not only was our waitress great, each and every person on the wait staff from servers to food runners would remove any finished dishes on our table and ask if we needed anything. And when we arrived this place was packed, which makes sense since it was Cinco de Mayo. Great place. Will definitely be back to try more items on their menu.

Literally the best potatoes in the world

Great night out with my wife. Last minute decision to try this restaurant for an early dinner. She had been there for lunch, this was my first time there. We did not have reservations, but it was before 6 pm, so we rolled the dice and headed over. They were able to sit us at a high top in the bar, which was perfectly fine with us. We had Enrollados de Carne, Patatas Bravas, Croquettes de Jamón, we split a Paella de Mariscos and washed it down with a carafe of red sangria. Everything was delicious and I would go back just for the Patatas Bravas. Finished out with Crema Catalan and Flan. Look forward to going back and exploring more of the menu.

Overpriced for what it offers. The waiters should smile more. We did not feel very welcome there. For a spanish pub, which should be about hearty meals and good atmosphere, that was a weird experience. Felt more like a yappie bar somewhere in Hoboken. At least put a Paco de Lucia record next time 😀

I travel the US for work and I like to hit family “hidden gems”. This is my go-to spot in Northern NJ. Food & service is always spectacular. Ivan pours a beautiful Pinot and the mussels are world class.

This place is pretty good food. The atmosphere is really worth coming for! It’s right down the street from my house so I have always loved coming here and I’m happy it’s one of the longest staying restaurants in the area.

The food here is excellent! It made for a wonderful date night. Everything we ordered was great. We will be going back. A tad on the pricey side but no other drawbacks. Get there early or make reservations!

I love the way the place is decorated and the atmosphere. The service was great and the food came out really fast. The blood orange sangria was delicious. The beef empanadas were flavorful and came with a nice sweet chili sauce. We got the salomillo con queso which is not actually a queso but was delicious. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly. The lamb meatballs were delicious but a bit too bready. Similarly, the cod croquetas were so good and crispy but too doughy. The bacon wrapped scallops were a tad overcooked. We got the gambas a ajillo but because we added chorizo it didn't come with broth, which was disappointing. Overall a nice tapas place and I would come back to try some of the other dishes.

May be a nice place but services are horrible… this is not the first time I go to this place WITH a reservation only to find out I have to wait an hour to be seated… I thought the purpose of a reservation is to be seated somewhat close to your reservation… then as your standing there they are taking walk-in’s right in front of you I always try to give restaurants the benefit of a doubt especially In this day and age but after the 3rd time happening sad to say I will not be going back there … and by the way 7 parties walked out before me as we were told sorry The owner over booked us today ( seems to be a constant error on her part might I add)… yes making money to stay in business is important but you first have to make your customers happy in order to stay in business ( at least I thought ) and this is not how you do it!

The food was absolutely delicious. The peach sangria was so damn good! But we had to interrupt our server's Wheel of Fortune viewing party to get dessert, we had to ask the busses to find her for our check and they started putting chairs on tables around us even though they were open for another 45 minutes. We had wanted more tapas and sangria but we never got the chance to order it. Such disappointing service, our other times here had been infinitely better than this.

Originally seated inside only to be moved out into the cramped and cold outdoor seating. We were with friends who regularly dine there and were looking forward to the experience. After ordering a Paella for two and our friends several tapas dishes (and blankets for 4)we waited for almost 25 minutes before the first tapas selections arrived after 30 minutes we questioned where the paella was to be told "it takes 15-20 minutes to cook" over 40 minutes from the initial order it finally turned up, food was great and can't fault it but the service was appalling and ruined the experience. Both couples felt awkward eating while the others waited, surely a bit of coordination when serving the food isn't too much to expect. Very disappointed in the manner we were treat and would insist on indoor seating for any future visit

This is overdue as i been coming here for almost 2 years and what a GEM! I am all about Customer Service and they exceed. This place is always packed but i mean packed and like the rest of the world is short staff and you see them HUSSLE, you see every single person including the host running around helping. The food has always been amazing, i have tried every single tapa on the menu No lie i am not a big fan of lamb but that's because i don't like it, but my boyfriend loves it. What makes this place amazing besides the food is the people they are beyond incredible. I feel at home and like i have known them forever. Thank youuuu!!!!!

Share various tapas, have a few drinks with friends (the sangria is really good...of course! - it's the restaurant's name), and sing birthday wishes along with the music to the patrons who are celebrating. Always a good time here at Sangria! Highly recommended from this repeat customer.

Nice outing with friends. Had the steak and potatoes tapas and it was excellent. Drinks were reasonably priced. 2 drinks and food came to $40. If I find myself in the neighborhood I would certainly go back.

Located in a strip mall on MacArthur Blvd in Ramsey, Sangria is a rustic Spanish bistro with rough hewn wood/wrought iron decor to serve fresh food and captures an authentic Spanish 🇪🇸 culinary experience which we came tonight for dinner. Reservation was easy made via Yelp. Upon arrival to a pack establishment, my partner, our friends and I were welcomed by the host and 1/2 of husband/wife duo, Carol who shown us to our table. Our server was Ivan who’s knowledgeable about the food and helped us make our selections. Their tapas menu is not huge but the selection is great. We started out with Gorditos (Dates, smoked bacon, wine goat cheese), Patatas Bravas (Potatoes, smoked paprika, tomato-aioli) and Tabla de Quesos (Cheese Board) consisting of Manchego, Mahón, Wine Goat, apricot pistachio mustarda, Marcona almonds, quince paste. The potatoes came out hot, crispy and tasty. The Gorditos and Cheese Board were envisioned differently from what were presented but still tasted good. As for our main meal, we ordered Mariscada (Shrimp, calamari, scallops, mussels, clams, green sauce, saffron rice, vegetables), Pescado del Dia (Fish of the day) Pan seared red snapper filet, mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts and Churrasco (Skirt steak, brussels sprouts, carrots, roasted oregano potatoes, butter garlic sauce). With our selections made, the food was paced out so we were not overwhelmed, and nothing got cold. The meats were perfectly cooked to our specifications. Unfortunately we had no room for dessert. If you’re looking for a good time, with decent food, and a fun atmosphere one would head on over as it was voted Best of Bergen 2022 for best tapas which we could recommend.

5 star service, 3.5 star food. Cute place, nice atmosphere. Okay food. Some dishes outshone others. My friends and i came here after a long hike at Ramapo VC Reservation so we were famished. We were seated as a party of 5 with myself included immediately when they opened. Wonderful staff and hospitality. I found it a bit strange that they poured out our carafe of sangria for us but quickly understood why when they brought out a second bottle for us to share. It was teeny! Delicious nonetheless. As for the food, we thoroughly enjoyed the cod fritters and the boys said the Gorditos and empanadas were great. We ordered seconds. I ordered the scallop and avocado and was less than impressed when they came out. It was just a strange presentation and i wasn’t wowed by the taste either. The octopus and lamb meatballs were pretty good and garlic shrimp too. I got a cappuccino at the end and it was perfect. Overall, it was a pleasant experience but it wasn’t the best Spanish food I’ve ever eaten.

Great unusual food. Traditional Spanish style food items, including Tapas, Paella, chicken and seafood options. Go with a group and share Tapas, so you get to taste the variety of flavors. You can even share dinners, if there's too much food.

Wanted to update as I thoroughly enjoyed my most recent visit. You can fill up on just the tapas. ……..A bit of a different take on Spanish cuisine, but excellent nonetheless. Hard to go wrong with any of the choices and just like its namesake, the sangria is delicious. I recommend the chorizo and skirt steak.

I visited this spot twice so far. It's near my parents house and it's a good place for a bigger groups. Lots of options for both food and drink. Decent vegetarian options, not great for vegans, however, if that's a need.

The two tables who were seated after us, had their food before we even had drinks. As far as service in Sangria, they get two thumbs down! The manager never came over to apologize for the lack of staff’s attention. The food was great, but very expensive. We mostly got the tapas, which was enjoyable for $187 with drinks.

I always wanted to try this restaurant. I plan to visit Spain soon, and I felt that it would be wise to first try a restaurant here which served food from Spain. The paella with chicken and vegetables was totally delicious! I also enjoyed the appetizer of empanadas. In my opinion, it was a big plus that the foods were not overly salty. I thought that the prices were high, but I also believed that the portions were large. There was a free parking lot right outside of the restaurant. The food did take some time to come out, and I felt that our server was much more attentive to other guests than he was to us. I believed that the restaurant was somewhat busy and a bit loud on a Saturday night, but it was not packed to the point of the need to wait for a table. I would dine here again.

This place exceeded all expectations !!! We ordered 5 tapas and shared the seafood paella. Everything was so good !! Every time they brought out a dish to us, we oohed and aahed. The one server said, I have to be your server next time !!! We ordered a flight of sangria, to pick out our favorite and then order a carafe. Even the flan was really good ! Cannot wait to come back and try some more tapas !!

We love this place and the food. We just wondering… why do you treat us like 2nd class citizens? We tip well, but you don’t show your love to us as we watch other patrons get better service! We are somewhat regulars…. What’s the problem with us???

Delicious sangria and amazing tapas, try the gorditos, fantastic!

This place is in a strip mall and the decor is outdated. The food was subpar at best. Had 3 tapas dishes and salad. It was served with dry almost stale bread (no butter or oil). The service was rushed. Once we asked for the check, the waiters and servers stopped by several times to say "have a good day". In other words, when are you leaving. Highly NOT recommended.

We visited on a week day for dinner around 5:30 pm. We made a reservation, but it wasn’t that busy when we arrived. It got busy later after 6pm. We shared the Tablón, one paella vegetariana & one caldo gallego. Food was very good and plenty for a party of four. If you like Spanish food, I recommend it to you! Great place in Northern NJ.

First time here, went for a hike in Ringwood, NJ. Looked this place up on Yelp and it had a good rating! The food was actually really good, I had the filet mignon tips with the peppers and onions and I think it was saffron rice, very tasty! My friend had the seafood paella, can't remember the name but that was very good also. A little on the pricey side $99 for two, just what you see in the picture, sangria and the two dishes but it was good!

Sangria is a fantastic place to enjoy tapas. The location is unassuming from the outside, but inside you are transported to southern Spain for a delicious meal. To be completely honest, this is the best Spanish Tapas experience I have had outside of Spain. The tapas are interesting, traditional, and fantastic. The sangria is strong and refreshing. Choose this restaurant over the new age, modern tapas places in Bergen County.

Food was very tasty. Red sangria was very good. Service was nice. They have the wrong hours on the door which was confusing and we almost walked off because we thought they were closed. Seats are uncomfortable and cheap. Other than that, nice place and atmosphere.

Sangría Tapas Restaurant 4 of us went to Sangria Tapas Restaurant late this Sunday afternoon, for Tapas and drinks. I like and agree with what it says on the menus below their name “Modern Spaniard Cuisine”! They have decorated very nicely with an open airy feel and wall art reminiscent of the old Spain. An appealing bar is to the right as you walk in and the dining areas to the left. The ceilings slant upwards with a large ceiling fan and skylight in the center. It is really a nicely designed dining atmosphere. The “signature” & “special” cocktails we had were full of tropical flavors and generous on the alcohol. (M appreciated compared with most restaurants/ bars. We shared 6 different Tapas and agreed that each was better than the other … that is, they were all delicious. Our server, Jackie / Jacqui (spelling?), was very courteous, attentive and pleasant! We will definitely ask for her the next time that we go.

Really good food, but the price is high for the amount of food you get. Understanding that this is a tapas restaurant, even the paella was small compared to other local restaurants. We spent nearly $200 for 4 people. No one left entirely full. Definitely get the charcuterie board, steak, and lamb meat balls. The sangria is good, but not great.

I can not recommend Sangria's. This place underwhelmed across the board. First was the decor. The strip mall location and neon sign in the window don't bode well. We went on a Saturday night at 7PM and it was very crowded and noisy inside. The tables were quite close to one another so when a woman got up to talk with her friend, her butt was practically in the face of my friend! Every time someone came in or out the cold air from outside rushed inside which was uncomfortable. Second was the service. Very poor and uncaring waitstaff. It took a long time to get our order placed and our waiter offered no information about what the house specialties were or what they would recommend. The wait between contact was very long. The owner/hostess came to our table - not to apologize for the hour long wait for our meals but to ask us why we were still sitting there. so she could turn over the table faster The food was ok, but certainly no bargain at the price point. My wife and I shared two tapas plates and the churrasco steak platter. The tapas were the chicken empanadas and the shrimp with avocado. The empanadas were quite good. Nice and warm and flaky outside, and tasty chicken inside. The dipping sauce was a little bland. The shrimp was served cold and was flavorless. The churrasco dish was a disappointment. It came out luke warm/cold, the meat was not charred properly on the outside and was cooked rare instead of medium as requested. The meal was served with fried potatoes and brussel sprouts. Both were flavorless and bland. We did not stay for dessert or coffee and do not plan to return. Segovia's in Oakland or Grenada in Hawthorne are far better places for Spanish cuisine. So rude service, noisy un-inviting atmosphere, relatively high prices for the quality of the food, and a poorly managed restaurant add up to a DO NOT GO!!!!

I visited their sister restaurant Sangría Hoboken and had opportunity to come north and dine at the Mahwah location. Both places are excellent. Food was very similar with a few things different. Atmosphere in both outstanding and was the service. Do yourself a favor and visit one of their locations.

Cute place, plenty seating. Food was just alright, what I didn’t like was the empanadas being crisp on the outside & being totally raw & doughy on the inside. The sangria was okay, we barely have places that serve good Sangria in this area so I guess there is barely any competition. The servers were very polite and deserved a good tip! We had a pleasant time at the place.
