One of the staple establishments in the Keuka area. A model of how to run a successful business with friendly staff and high quality ingredients. Always crowded yet also worth the reasonable wait!

A destination spot. Very busy and a little chaotic, but in a fun way. We went for lunch. We had the shrimp half boat and the piggy plate, their version of a Rochester garbage plate. Good food at a decent price.

A must go place! Great food, even better ice cream! The staff is always super nice and welcoming. We go multiple times the week we are at Keuka!

Best Ice cream in the area. Their food speciality is their fried chicken that is served in the rear of the ice cream store.

We ordered take out. After getting there 10 mins after they said, had to wait 20 more mins to get food. They screwed up the order and said it would “take awhile “ to make it correct. We left to go elsewhere. No apology!!

Delicious homemade ice cream! The place was hopping on a Thursday night! Service was fast! The selection of flavors was expansive! The cookies and cream and butter pecan and salted caramel were delicious!! Outdoor seating is great! A slice out of pure Americana! This is what I think of when looking for a small hometown Summer evening ice cream shop!

This is place for those who love fried food. They are famous for the fried chicken which I had, but it doesn't taste any better to me. But it's a fun place. The surroundings are beautiful with playground areas for kids and outside sitting area as well. The best thing for me is the ice cream place. It's really delicious!!!

Ice cream is the go to here and they have lots of flavors and great shakes. On the food side try the fried chicken, you will not be disappointed! Lots of things to keep kids busy outside , very clean and service comes with a smile!

Many choices on the menu so even folks who don't like fried chicken can find a nice meal. Great area for eating outside.

The crispy fried chicken and the many flavors of ice cream are the stars here. Crowded in season, but worth the wait. Both indoor and shaded outdoor seating are available, but limited.

Small servings that are super expensive but the ice cream is good. A medium sized here is a small everywhere else. A small here is about 5 bites and costs as much as a box at Byrne Dairy.

They claim they’re a local favorite, and that might be true. But apparently the locals have no taste. If Penn Yan had a Popeyes and a Ben and Jerry’s in town, Seneca farms would be out of business. Although I prefer to support local businesses instead of chains, this local spot was horrendous. The chicken was unbelievably dry and flavorless and had been sitting under a heat lamp for god knows how long. After trying one piece our entire party breathed a sigh of relief that we did not buy the family combo. Those poor chickens died for nothing, actually they died to produce the world’s worst fried chicken. The sides were equally abysmal. Mashed potatoes were incredibly bland and the gravy they put on top tasted like it was made of wet paper. The famous corn fritters were both lacking corn and flavor. Trying to salvage them with the syrup was hopeless and none of us could finish them. We could not believe our eyes when we saw how many people were eating here and seemingly enjoying the food. I beg the locals of Penn yan to leave their town and try some food anywhere else in the world. Do not be fooled by the foot traffic and the reviews, this is by far the worst chicken and ice cream I have ever had. Cold fried chicken from a grocery store has more flavor than this. After being severely disappointed in the chicken we figured we’d give the ice cream a shot since it seemed like Seneca Farms’ main attraction. That was a mistake. The ice cream was very obviously not home made and tasted like something you’d get from Sysco or restaurant depot. It was freezer burnt and had a very artificial flavor. Overall we spent about $25 each to find out that Seneca Farms has horrible food and worse ice cream. If you don’t believe me, sort by lowest reviews and you can see people mentioning how dry and flavorless the chicken from reviews as far back as 5 years ago.

Seneca Farms in Penn Yan is a must-visit. Their homemade ice cream is creamy perfection, with countless flavors to choose from. Even though the ice cream is their claim to fame, one should not overlook their crispy fried chicken. It's a local favorite. Friendly service and a casual atmosphere make it a great spot for families.

Small family restaurant with fantastic fried chicken and ice cream. Our family of four had a great time playing yard games while waiting for our food. Saved some room for ice cream, fun flavors and generous portions. Parking lot is large for the size of the actual building. We ate outside because inside can get cramped. It looked like they have a drive through too

Our family arrived in Penn Yan late afternoon with no dinner plans. We were able to get dinner and an ice cream cake for our daughter 's 19th birthday. I guess that's what you might say is a one stop shop!

This place is great, little hidden Gem!💎 We didn't eat, just got Ice Cream (very good btw) lots of variety and flavors. They also make homemade Ice Cream cakes and sandwiches... very nostalgic! Worth the go!

Oh boy was I highly disappointed when I ordered my ice cream last night ! First of all the staff was so rude and not willing to explain the different types of ice creams! When we received our ice cream it was not even what we order when we said something the cashier pretended to not hear me ! When we did sit down to eat our 2 small dishes of ice cream for 17 dollars again disappointed!!! Turns out it was kind of what we ordered ! Just made up to the lowest standard! If you’re reading this it’s worth driving to Max on 14A and getting your ice cream there! I would even go to Byrne Dairy before going back to Seneca Farms!

Long wait! Even if you call an order in you still will have to wait half an hr after the time they say its ready!

The chicken was good but the rest of anything good ended there. The sides tasted worse than KFC. I had the mac and cheese and potato salad and couldn't finish them because they were so bad. The service was super slow and it took 15 minutes for my food with minimal people in front of me. I can only imagine how long the wait would be if there are a lot of people. I would definitely not drive from Rochester to eat here.

I've been going here for almost 30 years. The food and ice cream are always terrific, and the service is great.

Small broken pieces of chicken. 2 out of 4 pieces had broken bones. Either not fresh or very done. Had it before and it was good this time no, not even close to the first time. We got 2 2 pieces and I had to give my husband one of mine as there was little meat on these small 4 pieces. I ordered all white and he got mixed which was both dark. Corn fitters were not dine

Seneca Farms is a Penn Yan treasure. You go for the ambiance and stay for the food and/or ice cream! It's so delicious and fresh! They are dog friendly. Plenty of parking at their main building or across the road. Outdoor seating is available along with a few places on both sides of the building (one side is food and the other is the ice cream). If you've never been, you're missing out!

Fun little spot to stop for ice cream

I really liked the chicken dinners. Hard to tell who was in line. Inside was a little tight but there were adequate tables. Also an outside gazebo/shelter for added summer seating. The chicken flavor and tenderness was excellent. Great place to stop for a bite to eat in Amish country shopping market country.

This place is always a must have when we visit the finger lakes! Incredible fried chicken and the best ice cream in the business. Their new-ish shop across the street is great for little knick knacks to commemorate the trip.

Vary good I give 5 stars I enjoy coming here to eat and get ice cream.

We waited over 30 minutes for (2) 2 piece meals. Inquired after 20 minutes and we were told it would Be ready soon... waited another 10 minutes. Asked again and we were told 2 min because they were working on a take order of 50 pieces. WILL NOT RETURN. This caused us to be late for a college softball game that we drove 2 hours to see No apologies, and it's been over 2 minutes and we are still waiting.

This has been a family favorite for 60 years when visiting Penn Yan. But stick to the ice cream. The fried chicken is so over rated. It is probably the worst I have ever had. The batter is terrible and seems over fried. I tried it on two recent occasions just to be sure I hadn't caught them on a bad night. I love fried chicken but sadly, this is definitely not the place to get it! Be careful entering/exiting the dining room in the back, you have to cross through the drive through traffic. Great place to bring the kids for ice cream, there is a covered/heated tent, lots of picnic tables, and a play area with a kid sized ice cream truck.

The special flavor of Dark Side of the Moon was delicious! My husband had the coffee custard with choice sprinkles and said the coffee flavor was just right.

Have been there many times....there is a little public park on Keuka Lake a few hundred yards behind Seneca Farms....I eat my lunch there...it's beautiful

We vacationed at the Finger Lakes in mid-October & were lucky enough to hit this place a few days before it closed for the season. We had read great reviews for the fried chicken so we made a special trip there. The chicken & corn fritters were really good. After the meal we also indulged in the highly rated ice cream. Delicious! The atmosphere would have been better in warmer weather, because there are beautiful places to eat outside. And of course, who doesn't live a gift shop!

Didn't like coleslaw or corn fritters the fried chicken and fried was only things I like in meal.

Cute icecream shop on our way back to our lake house. The icecream was awesome and the staff if very friendly. If we discovered this sooner, we would have tried their food. There's always next time!

Seneca Farms was a perfect addition to our summer wedding day, with a cherry on top! They were so accommodating with where and when to setup and breakdown. They had everything prepared beforehand, and even allowed us to do special requests. Seneca Farms blew us out of the water with their professionalism and curtesy; they made us feel comfortable and at home. Five stars for everyone involved!

I will stay with just ice cream. Inside service was horrible not friendly and waited too long with others getting served before my family who came in after. Only difference is chicken fingers instead of already cooked chicken.

The fried chicken which they're noted for was dry and the oil it was fried in should have been charged months ago. It gave the chicken a weird taste. The fried were over cooked and the coke slaw tasted has if it had been sitting around for awhile. The only thing worth eating was the ice cream!

The food was OKAY. I remember it being more flavorful a few years ago. The coleslaw SEVERELY lacked flavor. The chicken pieces were small and over done. The corn fritters were dry and lacked flavor. Baked beans tasted okay though.

Seneca farms catered our wedding in Naples, NY and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved their ice cream and homemade waffle cones. How could you not! They catered my brother in laws wedding and was a great hit then as well so I couldn't be happier and more confident to recommend them to anyone looking to have their food/ice cream catered for your event.

Great ice cream. Wasn't crazy about the chicken. I was hoping it would be amazing but found it didn't have much flavor, and the white meat was very, very dry. Although it was the crispiest chicken I've ever had.

Best fried chicken in the area. Everything is fresh made and of high quality. You walk in and get the old nostalgic feeling. Ice cream is some of the best I have ever had, rotational special soft serve flavors are some of the best, pumpkin cinnamon was probably the best ice cream flavor I have found, but only around in the fall. And don't forget the corn fritters!
