My mother and i tried the food here on yesterday & it was so so good.we had the rib plate and chicken and sausage. the food was well seasoned and the meat was falling off the bone. i will be returning.

The smoked turkey wings and the St. Louis ribs were AMAZING! I had a 4 minute wait and I ordered when I got to the counter! I’m going back for the baby backs and the ribeye soon!!!

About this fantastic eatery…my husband and I wanted bbq so instead of going to a place we frequented, we branched out and stopped at Smokey Watson BBQ on Greenwell Springs rd. Let me tell you that when we got on the car, you could smell the flavor and walking up to the window to place our order was a treat that we didn’t know was coming to us. We were greeted with a smile and one of the warmest welcomes we’ve ever experienced 🫶🏾. My husband asked a few questions about the type of wood they use and it was a match made in heaven from thereon. We both got combination plates: mine with wings, ribs and brisket; his with oxtails (double serving) and chicken. We both asked about the Mac and cheese and the owner (wife) spoke with confidence and great joy on how it was smoked Mac and cheese. Nothing else needed to be said 😀 We also had a nice helping of mustard greens (reminded me of my grandmother’s 🙌🏾). This place is a hidden gem! We’ll be back for sure, with family and friends! Thank you so much for providing us with food cooked with love and passion. It’s absolutely finger licking great and tastefully delicious to the palate 😋

Pit-master “Smokey” Keith Watson can cook! This is a must stop for great service and great BBQ. We stopped on our way home to Texas from Florida. We had the brisket and ribs.

Passing through Baton Rouge on my way from Houston,TX to Mobile, AL, I decided to make a food-stop @ Smokey Watson BBQ. Unfortunately, I was told by the owner that he was already closed as he was sold out appr. 30 prior to my arrival (good for him <> bad for me). But instead of leaving me hungry on the road, he offered to me the very last bits of the day: 2 Hamburgers and Sausage. Not only, that I enjoyed his BBQ, I felt gratitude for this act of the owner. That was very kind and nice! I hope to be able to come back some day much earlier than on that day in order to try the full variety of the menu.

OK, this is the real deal BBQ! I recently saw a review for Smokey Watson's that was over the top with enthusiasm and had to check it out for ourselves , and boy am I glad we did! We got the brisket plate with greens and potato salad as our sides and when I tell you that we were literally fighting over each bite LOL. The brisket was no joke the best I've ever had , the greens were seasoned perfectly with bits of meat as an added bonus and that potato salad was spiced perfectly... Friendly, fast , fantastic is just a few words I can think of, I will be back and suggest anyone who loves BBQ in BR do yourselves a favor and run over to try this hidden gem out!! A++++

Ribs and brisket were the best I've ever had. The greens are the bomb.

Visited on yesterday. Beef rib plate with greens and Mac. Beef ribs were absolute perfection and the greens my favorite side. My wife enjoyed her tender oxtails also. Always a delight to visit. Thank you Keith & Libby for sharing your gift. We'll be back!!

Well worth the detour from the Expressway. The plate was great, but the service was even better. I will most definitely go back.

Best bbq i’ve ever had, their smoked wings and greens sent me to heaven

Food is on point! The staff was very friendly. I was supposed to come get some oxtail last week and they ran out but they made up for it. Came back today and got those oxtail. When I tell you falling of the bone tender omg even my kids loved them. They will definitely be seeing me again.

My girlfriend and I had the ribs, brisket, greens, and mac n cheese. It was all really great and they were really friendly. We will go back.

This is BBQ as it should be. Made by a passionate guy who loves and knows BBQ. We travel a lot and tasted hundreds (not kidding) of BBQ joint and this on is up there with the best. Delicious, very moist and perfectly cooked brisket. Fall of the bone (just enough!!!!) back ribs. Great spice rub. First time having turkey wings. Will definitely try that at home. Also he make beef rib strips..... If there is something between brisket and beef jerky, this would be it. Keith is a passionate pit master who makes awesome BBQ. You definitely have to try it.

Absolutely fantastic place to eat, well worth the 30-40 min drive I have to make. Food is so delicious and the staff will treat you with care and respect. One time eating there, a guy came out of the kitchen to give us MORE brisket because he only gave us slim cuts and wanted us to have fats too, and mind you we had already paid and almost finished eating. My only wish is that for them to serve drinks! I would kill for a sweet tea with all that perfect food. Overall though, can’t recommend this place enough.

I visited this place for the first time last week. I am the type of person that wants to try everything on a menu! I ordered three plates just off of the scent of the food when I approached the stand and I will be honest, this has got to be the best bbq I ever had! Seasoned, smokey flavor and the sides tasted as if they were made in an old School kitchen with love. I am disappointed that they are are closed on certain days. I will not eat bbq from any restaurant now that I have tried this place! Job well done!!!

Hands down the best BBQ in Baton Rouge. Very friendly people. The beef ribs are the best I've had outside of Texas. I don't know what they do to the baked beans but I absolutely love them and the greens are always on point!!!!

Just had the best salmon I ever tasted!

One of the only joints in the city that actually smokes near old school style. Wood burning, charcoal and low/slow! Best brisket in the entire city and if you get to catch the smoked oxtails just say yes!!

WOW some of the best brisket I have ever had. Tender, juicy, well smoked & seasoned. And his beef ribs every Saturday is mouth watering good. Always get them when they’re available. Best bbq in town hands down.

The ribs were advertised as baby backs and they were def st Louis. I don’t eat those types of ribs so here is where the good part kicks in. The best St. Louis ribs I’ve had. I’d eat them again. The food was hot tender ribs great experience! I’ll be back for sure. Should have taken pics.

I went here for the first time today. This is probably my new favorite BBQ place in Baton Rouge. The brisket was amazing. The macaroni and cheese had a smokey bbq taste to it that was incredible. The rolls were just how I like them. Everything single thing was great. And the people working there were great too. I highly recommend this place.

Best BBQ in town no questions asked. I've never had brisket since tender I needed to eat it with a spoon, and the smoked mac and cheese is to die for. Portion sizes are perfect too, a perfect place to order from for a hearty lunch!

I ate there as well great place awesome flavor the people are very welcoming, curtious and the man on the BBQ pit is very prideful in his work and clean also had a whole conversation the entire time I sat and ate. I think everyone in the he whole world should atleast stop just to see there truth in my review .

We looked up BBQ places in Baton Rouge La. Smokey Watson got the best reviews and this is why. The food is amazing. We had ribs , brisket and smoked chicken wings. They are by far the best ribs and wings I have ever had. The brisket was extremely moist and smoked to perfection. I didn’t get much of that because my husband ate it all. Keith the owner and Pit Master set down on the bench and had lunch with us and then took pictures with us. He and his wife Libby are the nicest people we met while on vacation and treated us like family. If your looking for a great place to eat there, go out of your way a little bit and give them a try. You won’t regret it

Ordered a BBQ Burger and a side of Mac and cheese. The burger was pretty good, reminds me of backyard bbq. The Mac and cheese was just right. Creamy and delicious while not being overly cheesy or salty. I need to try there brisket and pulled pork next.

Ribs: 10/10. Most restaurants cook ribs until the meat falls off the bone. That is overcooked. You should be able to bite the meat, pull, and then the meat should come off the bone cleanly. That is how my ribs were. I don’t usually eat BBQ sauce since I’m very picky about it. I would eat this BBQ sauce for sure. I would definitely order the ribs again. Sausage: 10/10. The flavor of the sausage was amazing. Spicy enough to add a little magic, yet not overwhelmingly spicy to where it completely drowns out the flavor of the sausage. Would definitely order again. Overall: 9.6/10. I would absolutely order from here multiple times, and would not have a single complaint. Staff were extremely friendly. Only thing is that the parking was limited, but that is not in their control.

We are on a Roadtrip and while being in Louisiana we wanted to try some real Louisiana BBQ. We googled to see what we could find, and this charming place showed up. We drove by, but they were closed for the day. Sent them a message on Facebook and got a reply within a minute. We ordered food for the next day. We ate the brisket plate, and the kids ate the turkey wings plate. It did NOT disappoint! The meat was so tender and juicy, and the sausage was on point! So much flavor and love in this food! Highly recommended! ❤️
