I am so happy I found this place and only wish I did sooner. The food is incredible and everyone that works there is so friendly and kind. We went back twice in one week because of how amazing our first time there was. They also have 50% off wine bottles on Wednesday which is perfect for date night or a girls night. Love the sausage gnocchi and the chicken parmigiana. This place is my new favorite restaurant!

Went out to dinner last night with my mother and siblings for the first time. My Mom is vegetarian and had plenty of options on the menu to choose from. She was happy with her meal. I ordered the pesto chicken and pasta which was delicious. The pizzas are a perfect personal size. The food portions and quality are appropriate for the price. The bathrooms were the cleanest I’ve seen at any restaurant. The environment is dim, relaxing; the music was not too loud, (which is very important to me when I go out), and created a perfect ambience for a dinner night out. The service was excellent. My family and I were pleasantly acknowledged as soon as we walked in, and again when we left. Staff are extremely curious and respectful. As a restaurant manager myself, I was impressed and extremely proud to say I could not find one thing to criticize. Awesome job! I can’t wait to come back! :)

Another great meal at Sonia's! The home made linguini with white clam house was delicious, the pasta was perfect and filled with tons of small clams, both in their shell, and additional clam pieces, making it even more delicious. Of course Marvin's Marvelous Mixed drinks made to order are always amazing. Thanks for another great evening!

I only leave reviews when I find a place to be extraordinary and this place was exactly that!! We took my mom for a Mother’s Day dinner and we all loved our food. We all tried each others food and everything was excellent! I had the chicken pesto penne which was delicious and creamy. My mother had the steak and my boyfriend had the mussels over spaghetti. We also shared a charcuterie board at the beginning as an appetizer. Every meal was just fantastic! We also had the deliciously warm chocolate lava cake for dessert 🤤 The waiters were all super nice and even though it was a busy Saturday night, we were very much attended to. I am recommending this place to everyone I know! And we’ll definitely be going back! Thank you for a great culinary experience!

I love the food at Sonia’s Gourmet Kitchen. They bake their own bread and make fresh pasta. Their tiramisu is one of the best I ever had.

Food was very good as usual. Kinda expensive but I guess that is our current economics. Meatball app was very good, pizza was a 7/10, chi parm was a bit soggy with too much sauce. Service was inattentive, slow. Staff is very nice but they need to be working the room rather than standing around chit chatting. Dinner for 2 was over $80 with no drinks or desert. I entree, I app, 1 pizza and a $5 sparkling water.

Came here without a reservation on a Saturday and was seated immediately, even though the place was packed! Had a delicious wine and solid appetizer, but the star of the show was the homemade pasta! We had the gnocchi with sausage which was unbelievably yummy as well as a special cacio e Pepe dish which was delicious!! Will absolutely be back to try more pasta and the pizza!

Ate there tonight with my family. What a gem! Food, atmosphere and service were fantastic. In a competitive business, you should give this place a try.

This place is great. We’ve eaten dozen of times and the food is always outstanding. Marvin and Sonia are so nice to every person that comes in, you just don’t get that these days. Make sure you get the Brussels sprouts salad, the fried artichokes, and the Sonia pizza for the table. Also, a hidden treat, just get an order of meatballs in sauce for the table, it’s excellent.

Was a pleasure meeting the owners Marvin and Sonya... The food was great and Marvin suggest a really good bottle of wine in all... Was a very enjoyable evening!

SO CLEAN!!!!! I work in the industry and I was so happy with how spotless the environment is! Like everything, no dust even, you can see the kitchen and it looks AMAZING. Also the food is perfect, amazingly seasoned !!!! And the staff is amazing, all of them, so polite and kind. I have and will come again ! Will bring every friend I can !!

Everything was consistently delicious. Favorites were/ brussel sprouts, caesar salad, kid’s mac n cheese and angel hair pasta. Even the bread was super yummy!

I eat here frequently and I don’t think it will ever change. The freshness and flavor is uncommon in this area. I love the atmosphere there and it feels almost like a second home. The workers there are always super friendly and I cannot say I have a single bad thing to say about this place. I definitely recommend the pepperoni calzone or one of their specialty Jackie pizzas. My favorite is their Belgian Chocolate Lava Cake. I eat that everytime I stop by!

Very good Italian food. Not a massive portion with no taste place. Proper sized portions prepared very well. The gnocchi and sweet sausage is excellent.

So good! We came in because it was close to a shop we needed to go to, so no expectations. Service was very friendly and just the right pace. Everything was delicious. It is obvious that the people in this restaurant care to provide their customers with a great experience. I got the SGK linguine with pesto, squash, broccoli and grilled chicken. My wife got the chicken Marsala. Both were perfect. Coffee and dessert were great too. The Belgian molten chocolate cake and the Tiramisu could not have been better. We will be back. I highly recommend.

This is probably one of my favorite restaurants in town. Food is always clean and consistent and the owners are just so super friendly. Always a pleasurable experience all around.

My boyfriend and I do deliveries for DoorDash and grubhub we’ve picked up from here plenty of times for other customers and decided to try it out ourselves. First off it’s such welcoming place and the manager or the owner (I didn’t catch his name) was so friendly and helped us with the menu, our server was very friendly and met to our needs we got a bottle of wine and was kept in a ice bucket the charcuterie board was wonderful, we each got a pizza and they way that they presented their food was amazing and delicious; it was our first time ever having a crème brûlée and it is now our new favorite dessert. We were the last ones to leave and even then everyone was still super friendly. Working in past restaurants I’ve never experienced an atmosphere like this, we will definitely be back for seconds😋

Love the food! There fresh pasta dishes are simply stunning! I still stay without words to explain such tasty dishes! You absolutely have to try them! As well as their wine selection is so spot on with the combination of dishes that they have🤌🙌

Was our first time coming here and let me just say wow! The food was amazing and the customer service was excellent. I dined in with a big group but they accommodated for us and they were all so nice checking up on us, and the food was just amazing!! People seem nice but food is just plan bad. Bad food that is overpriced. Ie a can of coke to go is $2.95. Got takeout. Menu indicated home made pasta. I ordered rigatoni bolognese. When I got home I discovered they gave me spaghetti- fresh from the Ronzoni box. The main reason for the 1 star was the sauce, it had a very weird flavor- definitely not Italian, no garlic, no onion- just tomato paste with salt and ground beef. What was weird ia that it was almost dry. Reminded me of heated up leftovers. Very bad taste that lingered, Pasta came with slide of stale bread that’s toasted to make it soft agains. All in all a weird, bad experience. Diners beware,

A true family-behind-the-scenes, and in front! Sonia is a wonderful chef, her mom alongside. Husband Marvin knows his wine and is always looking to add to the list. Interesting dishes, good happy hour, half price bottles on Tues & Weds nights...ya gotta love the Amarone. Yes they're getting well known and crowded. So find a time when you can go and relax. They have a Brussels sprouts salad with truffle oil, over a risotto cake- to die for.

Sonia’s has exceptional food and even better service. After Grubhub mysteriously made my order disappear, Sonia’s went out of their way to hand deliver my food. Their food is delicious, consistent and they truly made my night! They have the best Caesar, penne a la vodka and fresh buttery garlic knots. I will continue to support this business and encourage you to give them a try!

Foods just not good. I gave it another shot after a horrible meal when they first opened. Chicken like rubber, cheese not melted and cold on chicken parm. Chicken marsala tastes like its a frozen meal. Caesar salad was good and fried mozzarella, was just ok. Sauce seamed burnt, just not a good meal.

After 45-60 minutes waiting and seeing other people who came later finish their meals, they screwed up our order by bringing a small pizza for 4 people (we were specific asking for a large), the salad we ordered as appetizer never made it to us, and there was no apology or anything from the manager... So we paid the full tab and took the food they did bring home and it wasn't even that good.

Marvin helped me by catering an event for over 80 people. The event was a huge success and there was plenty of food. The food was delicious VERY fresh and plentiful. The restaurant wrapped all the trays in a way so there was no leak. All the guests went up for seconds and thirds because it was so good and several guests asked where the food was from because it was so good. I highly recommend if you have an event to speak with the restaurant and ask for Marvin. I will definitely be ordering again for my next event.

Great new latin/italian restaurant. Highly recommend the half roasted boneless chicken, Barramundi gnocchi, and kale salad. Delicious! Can't wait to try pizzas. Owners are wonderful too.

First things first, they have the best chocolate lava cake made with belgian chocolate! The service is excellent, the waiter is very friendly, he asked us how we would like the pizza and he made sure that everything is good from their end. Pizza was good may be asking for extra garlic made it bold. As an Indian, I felt I had limited food choices, but overall food was worth the price.

SGK is a HIDDEN GEM! My husband and I are so happy we found this place. It’s a bit off the beaten path in Fairfield, but it’s worth a visit. The servers are attentive and kind and the food is EXCELLENT. It must be tough to open a restaurant during a global pandemic, but SGK is doing everything right. We were so pleased with the service, the decor, and above all, the food. Our dishes were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the ravioli!

The salads are phenomenal!! What attention to detail🤯 We always get takeout and the food is packed so well. No styrofoam (which is outlawed in a lot of places)! I love the dressing on the SGK salad! I have to give a special shout out to Sonia’s Gourmet Kitchen. We tried them for the first time only about 2 months ago and since then have probably ordered once a week, and if I’m being honest sometimes twice. The food is so good. Everything we order has been just so tasty. I love the rigatoni A la vodka and the chicken parm is just ridiculously good. They have really good cauliflower pizza (I don’t understand how it’s cauliflower and still so crispy!) and their fried mozzarella is just the best. But that all aside, the service is second to none. We often order in a big group and we had an item missed this weekend. We finished our meal and had the doorbell ring about 40 mins later with the missing item. I haven’t had any restaurant do that before. THATS HOW YOU GET A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE I look toward to continuing our weekly meal there and thanks for all the great work! Definitely give it a try I think you won’t be disappointed!

This is legitimately the worst meal I have ever had in my life. I don’t understand the good reviews - clearly they are all from staff. The most soggy, watery pasta I have ever had. The noodles were cooked so much they were like baby food. Soggy, bland eggplant parm. Horrible experience.

The Ravioli was delicious. We had the outdoor seating. A little chilly the evening we stopped in. They had outdoor heating to assist. Friendly staff.

First time at @ SGK’s and we were very pleased. The atmosphere is really nice and owners and wait staff were very friendly. Lots of menu options and a comprehensive wine list by glass and bottle. We shared the artichoke app and we each had a “homemade” pasta entree, all three were very good and service was excellent! We will go back again.

We stopped here for a family dinner before heading to our hotel while on a road trip. Food on the road can be hit or miss, but Sonia's delivered the goods! We had a wide range of entrees. Eggplant marsala (dynamite dish), homemade ravioli, & pizza. All of it was excellent and the service was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

A family restaurant! Delicious! Sonja, Marvin and family have created a fabulous, family - friendly restaurant. The pasta dishes are decadent. The wine list pairs well with the menu. It is one of the best kept secrets in Fairfield. We will be visiting again and again.

We, 3, dined in and had a lovely time with very, very good food and wine followed by perfect espressos. I can certainly recommend their pizza which has a perfect dough consistency and taste. The Green Forrest pizza is perfectly balanced between the green broccoli, ricotta cheese and garlic. I don't recall exactly all ingredients - it was very good! I know from my company that they also enjoyed their dishes - Ravioli and Fettuccine - very, very much. If you're in the area or planning a party and need catering, I strongly believe you can't go wrong with SGK!

Finally made our way to SGK. Really cool atmosphere inside. Extremely friendly staff, made my daughter and I feel welcomed as soon as we walked in. A really solid selection of wines is available, as well as cocktails and beer. I had the most delicious gazpacho from the specials menu, so good! My daughter had fish and chips, which were also on the specials menu that day. And I had home made Linguini, with Chicken, Fresh Mozzarella, Asparagus, Roasted Red Peppers Finished with Beurre Blanc Sauce. So good! Can't wait to go back again!

First time dining tonight at Sonia's Gourmet Kitchen! This is the old Mama Mina's space in the Fairfield Shopping Center, Post Road, Fairfield. They completely redecorated the space with smooth gray wood, marble and wood tables and a very relaxed neutral color scheme. There are upholstered banquettes around the interior of the restaurant, soft lighting and an upscale modern decor. Service was immediate and friendly as soon as we walked in the door. We wanted to sit in the back and found a cozy spot. Fresh lemon water came right out at our request, as did warm soft toasted bread served with extra virgin olive oil which was so good, we asked for a second basket! We ordered the Crispy Calamari, coated to perfection with a delicious crispy crust, tender calamari, and bold, rustic marinara with a hint of spice. Absolutely the best calamari in Fairfield! We chose to sample their homemade panini's, he opted for the sauteed steak, mushrooms, onions and cheese, I ordered the roasted vegetable with zucchini, eggplant, yellow squash, roasted red peppers and olive oil. I asked for mozzarella cheese on the panini. We've had dozens of panini's in different restaurants and these were the best we've had. The roasted zucchini was tender, eggplant slices and yellow squash tasty and the roasted red peppers were sweet and savory. The cheese was a great addition, and both panini's had grill marks, the bread was fresh and delightful. The service was excellent. We had Marvin as our server and Sal who helped, both were extremely competent, friendly, checking on us to refill our water glasses, bring extra bread and took good care of us. Their menu is quite extensive with a variety of great appetizers, special salads, panini's, of course, pizza and choice entre selections. On our way out, after that fantastic experience, we noticed a woman with a big smile, "that's Sonia," said Marvin. We greeted her and told her how much we enjoyed the meal, and we could tell there was love in the cooking. Really, this place is great and we plan to be regular patrons! Brava, Sonia and we're sure this restaurant will be very successful.

I recently went to Sonia's gourmet kitchen with my family a couple of weeks after they opened. We ordered a variety of dishes from apps, entrées and pizza to see what we liked most. Their wings were crispy juicy and flavourful. We had the calamari it had a light batter and was quite tasty and was not oily at all. The pizzas were just right the crust was thin and not over cooked. I had the scallops with risotto. Delicious. My son had a eggplant sandwich that he truly enjoyed. All the portions are just right. Marvin was a great host. We will definitely be going back and trying more things.

Amazing and friendly staff with even better food! Such a great atmosphere in the restaurant. The Penne Pesto Chicken dish was amazing and I can't wait to try more of the delicious pastas. Ended the meal with a Gourmet Jackie Pizza, the S'mores one...it was so yummy! Great place, can't wait to come back soon!

This is a new spot! Very good, we ordered salad , pizza and pasta. All very nice, we also had a garlic, mozzarella and prosciutto toast as an appetizer. It came with a drizzle of truffle oil which I didn’t read on the description and I don’t care for, so beware. Some might find it as a pleasant surprise. The thick crust pizza was done well, the table next to us had the traditional which also looked great. The menu selection was very extensive and the wine and bar choices were all there! Enjoy

It is a very nice looking new place, totally remodeled with no reminder of Mama Minas! The food was good, didn’t seem like it was Italian food, more of a Mediterranean flair. Friendly service, and very comfortable. Maybe it will be better for pizza? I felt it was a bit pricey for what you get. The ambiance was really nice and we did enjoy this new restaurant, and excellent service!
