The worst service I’ve had in a while. The place was dead. Maybe 5 tables, with 4 people working up front. One of our guest had to wait 10 minutes with an empty cup before getting up and asking for a refill. When he told them thanks they smarted off. Portions are lack luster. I’ve heard good things about this place. For my first experience I won’t be back.

Hate to say this because I was really excited about it, but my recent experience was not good at all. The entire drive thru experience took anywhere between 10-15 minutes, but I was the only one in the drive thru and there were very few cars in the parking lot -- so it wasn't that busy. I ordered a pulled chicken sandwich (on a bun) with fries, baked beans and a sweet potato. The sweet potato and beans were fine, but the fries were just awful -- and the biggest issue out of everything was the pulled chicken sandwich. The sandwich that I got was on two stale, greasy pieces of garlic toast (again, ordered it on a bun), and the chicken on it was so unappetizing looking. It looked like someone quickly slid a chicken thigh off the bone and slapped it on a sandwich. The meat looked gross, the bread was awful, and overall I just didn't eat it because it sketched me out. This is the first time I've eaten at Sohnny's in probably two years, and I've got to say it will probably be the last time for quite awhile. Sad :(

I do miss the old sonny's set up with salad bar. Also they used to slice brisket like cold cuts. So you got a pile of meat instead of bacon style sliced brisket.

Overall we had a excellent service the waiter Hamilton did amazing

The baby back ribs were good, but the ribs in the sampler were dry. Excellent service. We had a large order, and an employee helped bring everything to our vehicle.

Prompt service during a busy holiday. Got my food and was back home in no time. Great service from a great staff.

Ate here around 1:00pm on Friday June 28th. Place was not busy and sat immediately. The brisket was boring. Cooked nice but boring. The beans were a little weird sweet. The French fries were great. And the toast was an end piece and not good at all. If it hadn’t been for their sauce this meal would have been sub-par. I have always loved their sauce and food but was very disappointed this time. (I live in TX and only make it to FL every couple years) my plate and drink were around $15.

Super easy online order, great curbside service, only place that got everything right the first time without me having to have something corrected.

Great ribs, chicken and sides. Ran out of corn bread. Substituted garlic bread. Very average bread. All in all very good 👍.

Food was good. Service could of been a little better and fast but made it was just an off day. Well be back to try again.

Sony’s offered a nice rib & pork deal today, so I gave it a try. It was delicious !!

Good food and moderate level servers. Most seem to be cordial but overworked, so delays in service.

Okra was excellent and Hannah provided 5 star service. Great brisket sandwich if all you want is fat. Found 3 big bones in the salad.

I have been going to this location for years and was shocked when I was told that I could not order the family feast through the drive-thru and that I would be required to come inside to place the order. I was very disappointed in the lack of service because I was always able to order the family feast before. Because of this new policy, I decided to leave and go to another restaurant that day.

Unfortunately, when I got all the way home, the potato salad and macaroni and cheese were not in my bag. However, the food was fabulous and generous servings, the side salad was fresh and large.

Hannah was my server. Awesome young lady tried so hard but the quality of the food really sucked. Have not been there in over 5 years. Simple fact was not impressed the last time I was there. I got the pit sampler. The meat was dry. The baked beans absolutely sucked, mac and cheese was off the chain. Which you probably get that from Sysco cuz they have good mac and cheese. Please understand this is very expensive dog food. Probably want be back for another 5 years.

This Sonny’s is always on point

Food was ready, and hot earlier than scheduled.

Recently had a take out order and the food was excellent. The sandwiches had a substantial amount of meat on them. In the past it seemed they were skimping. I hope it stays this way because I always appreciated their consistency.

Always try to stop here on my way back from Jacksonville. The food here is always very good, but don’t pay any attention to the time the website gives you to pick up your food. Every time I’ve been here on time I’ve had to wait about 15 minutes. Not a very big deal but at least offer me a drink while I’m sitting there. It won’t stop me from coming here to get food

Didn't get me wrong, I love Sonny's, love it! But this location, was bad. I mean, sent our hamburger back 4 times. Most of the good was cold. Sad experience...

Was yelled at from the kitchen to go away. At 9 pm on Tuesday. Sign says open til 10 pm. Lost 8 customers. Bad business. Hostess speechless and embarrassed.

I stopped in the drive through today for a pregnancy craving- wanted fries with sweet bbq and a lemonade to go with my jimmy johns Turkey Tom. When I arrived at the window after ordering, they informed me there was no lemonade. I swapped to something else. There was a long wait but I received my fries and the correct sauce and left. When I opened the bag later, the fries were a deep brown as if having been in the fryer multiple times and very much overstaying their welcome. They were not even warm. It was a depressing blow, but I’ll survive.

I grew up on Sonny's BBQ. The original location was literally opened around the corner from my house when I was a baby. It's still there the last time I was in town. A lot of things have changed over the years they're still putting out good quality BBQ.

They catered our companies 420 celebration at trulieve. This staff was awesome b the food was nice n hot .

Got the pulled chicken, though it was more like chunk chicken. Plus the chicken had no flavor. The only thing that was good was the sweet tea .

So my wife picked up dinner there 4/04 around 7:00. She ordered pulled chicken, but got a half roasted chicken. And it was RAW! They didn’t provide butter or sour cream for the baked potato. I contacted their corporate office, but no response. Sonny’s please do better.

As I walk in there is no one at the counter so I can make a to go order. There is also no on in the store. I wait a couple minutes for someone to take my order. When he does I tell him my first item, he then rings it up immediately, not asking if I need anything else. When I tell him I need more he gets aggravated, like I did something wrong. This guy had a gray sweatshirt on. Definitely not work attire. Then another employee walks around the corner with another sweatshirt on. Looked very unprofessional.

I cannot believe the lack of care and standards. I ordered the baby back ribs today at lunchtime and received a half slab which was burnt/no sauce and a half slab with sauce that looked like they came from two totally different slabs. Look at the photo. Why would you put that on the same plate and serve it to someone?! Sorry. I can't figure out how to upload the photo. Ugh...I REALLY wish I could.

I never a problem the food but last night when I got dinner in drive thru when I got home the baby back ribs was so tough to eat so I had to cook them myself.

We used to enjoy going to eat here, but then they remodeled and the new style just feels cold - kind of stark and metallic when it used to be a lot of warm wood and leather. However, we still like the food so we started doing take out. Unfortunately, they make little mistakes in the orders more often than not, and this last time they made a big mistake. They only gave me three of the five entrees I ordered, messed up the toppings on one of the ones they did give me, and I didn't realize the mistake until I got home because they gave me a big bag of napkins, sauce, and straws even though I didn't order any drinks. When I went back I had to explain the mistake and wait another 15 minutes for them to (re)cook my food. Not much in the way of apologies either.

This BBQ restaurant was amazing! Even though they happened to be out of pulled pork, our whole table still was able to receive dishes that were to their satisfaction. I love the atmosphere of the restaurant, it is very friendly.

The food ok nothing special server was terrible. Saw a dead roach at the reception desk.

Server was AMAZING! I had an appt next door so I went to Sonnys afterwards. Unfortunately when I got home(after long bus ride) and opened the bag,I was totally disappointed. Half my food was missing!! Both sides that i chose w my sampler were missing. Then only chicken n sliced pork were in it but supposed to be more meats. The chicken was really dry and hard,maybe leftover from the day before?? Also no bread. I ordered the appetizers fried okra and corn nuggets and the corn nuggets literally has 5 FIVE in it!! And ZERO fried okra. I asked for 1 sweet and 1 smokey sauce after my server handed me the bag cuz I had forgotten earlier . He said he already put some in but grabbed more to make sure I had the kinds that I asked for and I swear I have bbq sauce for a year,he put more sauce than food in the bag. I bet the food costs are thru the roof if that's how many sauces are given,especially when I hadn't even asked for any when he handed me the bag. There was no way I was taking the bus all the way back across town to get the rest of my food, I just let it go.

Had catering from here in February 2024. They delivered a group lunch order to the hotel where we were having a business meeting. The food came in a reasonable time, and was still warm, even the tater tots! The order was accurate, even if there was an extra sandwich. Will order from here again when at the next meeting.

When we got there the hostess said our wait would be 30 mins. After awhile of waiting in the lobby I went into the bathroom.while going towards the bathroom I saw empty tables they weren't even using. After an hour and 15 mins we got seated at or tables. Our server did a good job considering the circumstances. We waited for our food and the server apologized for the wait on the food and that it was due to the kitchen was short staffed that day. Sunday at lunch time. After a while he came out with some of our food and told us that they were out of fries, and a few other things and asked if we wanted to change our order. For there to be a staffing problem and food shortage problem then there must be a manager problem.

Pretty decent for a fast food BBQ place. Had the pulled pork sandwich and tator tots. The tots were very crispy and the sandwich was good.

Sonny’s is always so good! This location is very convenient and Sherree is always very friendly!!

It was a nice time to spend with the family. Sharifa was a friendly waiter and made sure that our daughter’s food was brought in a timely manner and made sure the food was served fresh. We appreciated the service that was brought to us.

The owner should call his own restaurant for a pick-up order and wait on hold for 20 minutes . I called, and they put me on hold, I drove 20 miles and walked up to the takeout counter and asked what the problem was and the manager would not give me the owners phone number.

I absolutely love going to get lunch here! I go at least once a week and always go thru drive-thru. Ms. Twila is always so nice and friendly and makes my day better!

Gabi was our waitress. She did a great job serving our food, checking on us, and was constantly friendly and attentive. Give her a raise!

The smoked turkey was delicious, and Gabi was a fantastic server.

We had an excellent service from Gabi. She was nice about my 10 YO needing her brisket chopped more thoroughly so she could bite into her sandwich. This particular Sonny’s does a brisk Drive Through business so even if the dining room is quiet the food is hot and fresh.

Had the Whole Hog Sandwich and a sweet potato. WOW! It was delicious! Very filling. It had sliced pork, pulled pork, and a wonderful sausage on it. Had slaw too. Yum!

Gabi took good care of us at lunch today! If you need a good, quick meal, Sonny’s is one of the best places!

Service was excellent! Gabi did a great job waiting on us for dinner. My husband’s chicken was slightly overcooked and she was very accommodating to go out of her way to bring fresh chicken. She is very sweet and does her job well!

Twila keeps the drive thru moving…she’s always pleasant and smiling!!!

Usually love Sonny’s but at this location we stood at the door waiting to be seated for 10+ minutes before we just left. Multiple workers walked by us without saying a word and the takeout staff stood 20 foot from us goofing off.

Ordered a smoked turkey breast for Thanksgiving and was told it would be 9 to 10 lbs which sounded great to feed a multigenerational family. I weighed it when I got home and it was 4 lbs and it was just a half breast.. When I called, I was told that's the way it comes. So we will be short of turkey for Thanksgiving with no leftovers. It's hard to indicate how little they cared about their their lies and misrepresentations. So be very careful when ordering from Sonny's. They lie and don't care about their customers. Won't be going back any time soon - maybe when pigs fly or hell freezes over.

Service was very good. BBQ (sliced beef on garlic bread) was okay, but they are definitely cutting back on proportions. Each visit became slightly more disappointing and less satisfying than the previous, so I stopped going to Sonny's and I now go to another BBQ restaurant. Also, all of the TV screens in the restaurant make it hard to have a family night out; it's difficult to have a conversation with your kids since you can't compete for their attention.

Delicious food but spectacular service

This is the worst Sonny's I've ever been to and the manger and General manger didn't care about customer service.The owners needs new mangers at this location and clean house with new staff.

The hostess appeared to be in a rush to seat us, my spouse is disabled and can only walk very slowly, so basically she walked off far ahead of us. The table was dirty with greasy hand prints on the bench. It took quite a while for the waitress to serve us, she was apologizing for overlooking us. The sampler platter was absolutely horrible, the meat was nearly all fat and I couldn't get the meat off of the ribs. I can promise I will not be back, I haven't been that disappointed in a long time. To top off the meal, the sweet tea had way too much sugar. For the money we paid I feel we got ripped off.

Ok. Twice within a week Sonny's has not even been a disappointment, but a complete failure. Earlier in the week my wife and I stopped in after traveling all around and finally settled on Sonny's. We stood at the counter to be seated for several minutes. With only a handful of people there. And after a young employee walked in with us. We stood there and nothing. Finally walking out. Tonight, I called the same Sonny's to order take out. 40 minutes before closing. No answer. Call back, ring, ring ,ring. No personal hello, only a voice message. Over and over and over again. Still no answer. I will not give Sonny's my business in Tallahassee ever again. Period.

Food was delicious. Order was taken and we were able to pickup in fifteen minutes.

Very Dirty… everywhere we looked was filthy from the bar to the dining room to the restrooms. The women’s restroom was so disgusting I doubt the staff using it are even washing their hands. Staff members were friendly, but this place needs an overhaul. I refused to eat here as I didn’t want to get sick.

I understand that everyone is short staffed, but the staff kept disappearing.. had to basically get up and chase them down. Ordered the turkey plate and it was so dry and didn't look right. Couldn't eat it. Got it replaced with new turkey and it was still extremely dry, didnt eat it but still had to pay for it. I manage a local bbq restaurant in my town and couldn't imagine handling customers or food this way. Extremely disappointed.

The sauce were absolutely stunning! We are getting ready for a wedding, so we tried a large variety of the food. It was spectacular!

Delicious food and great service! We were seated right away and our server checked in with us regularly and accommodated our requests.
