I had the Endive, Radicchio and Apple salad which was delicious, the dressing was very tasteful, highly recommend. Sadly they missed the mark with their fried Calamari. I could tell by taste the fryer grease was old and dirty which left an unpleasant aftertaste. Adding to this it was also over cooked too. I’d go back but wound not order anything that is fried.

advice from a foodie: get rid of the horrible veggie mooshie burger... taste like mush no flavor get rid of the the pepper dippers, worthless no flavor ceasar salad is not supposed to be iceburg lettuce!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all in my opinion, along with if your cooks are teens that's probably your problem the $20.00 burger isnt that great. NOTE: TO MANY TEENS RUNNING AROUND AS STAFF FLIRTING WITH EACHOTHER AND TRYING TO IMPRESS EACHOTHER INSTEAD OF IMPRESS CUSTOMERS W GOOD FOOD, the teens are very emotional and extremely dependent upon your responses all in my opinion.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant. It’s my birthday weekend. My daughter and I were going to see a movie at celebration Pointe however the movie we were about to see didn’t have seats available at that particular time we arrived. The next wait time was in an hour. So we decided to get food from this restaurant. It was about 230pm and the brunch special was about to be over. We finally got seated. The waitress we had was not very friendly and didn’t seem to care. I asked her for plastic utensils and a straw. She never came back and I had to ask several other waitresses before I actually got the items. I noticed every table had a glass bottle of water. She never asked if we wanted a glass bottle of water. Also, I did see her being attentive to other customers that wasn’t like me. It was a nice gentleman gave us the straws and ask us would be like a bottle of water. I don’t drink sugary drinks. I felt very uncomfortable. No, I’m not caucasian and the majority of this restaurant customers are. Then the waitress took my card and had it about 15 minutes. I felt uncomfortable because this never happened to me. Usually, the restaurant I’ve attended are quick about getting customers back their cards. I have money and shouldn’t take long to bring my card back to me so I can leave. I had to go to the front desk to ask to speak with someone because the waiter had my card for 15mins. By the time I was about to ask, she was back at the table. My daughter told me the waiter had to get her manager about my card. Trust, my card doesn’t have any issues. Not sure if the logo was a problem because it’s my bank. She walked off by the time I came back to ask her was there a problem. I should have spoken with the manager about my experiences. Will I come dine there again? No. I felt a little unwelcome by some of the staff members and I definitely feel that a 20% gratuity over board for the customer I received from some of the staff members. And thanks to the other staff members who were polite and attentive

Ordered takeout! Honestly, I’m impressed with this hamburger! I ordered medium and lol it was medium and those fries were hittin😎 although it’s a few extra bucks, it was totally worth it! Even got some free cookies lol and I love some cookies😏

Absolutely a great staff. They work as a great team from the entrance until your departure. The food was great, big portions and flavors to come back to.

The food is great! Shrimp and grits is probably my favorite dish; very filling. The prices are a bit high so I wouldn’t personally make this a regular weekly outing. While not inexpensive the food is worth a special price. It is someplace that I would visit for an anniversary or birthday. Hoping to try brunch soon!

So this place is pretty great. But we did not have a good time. I’m gonna give it a solid 5 tho. The ambiance was phenomenal. The sides were delicious and we enjoyed the drinks. The wait time was a bit much but that’s to be expected at a busy space. My gripe was the steaks were mad overcooked. I was not super happy about it. But the staff was kind about it and comped everything else so I have absolutely no beef with them. Litawally. I will certainly be coming back and trying it again. I understand the place was packed and it’s very likely the chef was overwhelmed. It is what it is. Go gators.

This is our favorite restaurant in Gainesville. The food and service are always outstanding Darius was our server tonight. He was awesome. Very knowledgeable, attentive, and respectful. Thanks for another great experience.

I have given this place many chances. Good burger....Good deserts....not impressed with anything else...The entrees that I have tried including the steak was less than desirable. The location and atmosphere is wonderful. "The Old Ball Coach" was good at football but lacking in the restaurant biz!

Name and nostalgia is all this place has going for it. Really good liquor ( bourbon and tequila) selection and friendly staff. Food was mediocre. Ribeye for $50 was over cooked and had zero seasoning. Chalk it up to being in after 8pm, but no excuse to skip on quality. Server asked to remake but didn’t want to be that person late at night. I want great food and was hoping it would deliver. Only delivered memories from watching games and didn’t leave any lasting impressions on my palate.

Update , new review. Horrible mistake/ worse day ever On 08/18/2024 I planned my wife birthday on this restaurant . They made that day stigma in our life and worse day ever . 1- they put up on corner 2- table was not presented for birthday 3 - they throw the birthday cake on the table even no body say happy birthday or even put an effort to put single candle 4- nothing they do to make us it’s birthday dinner . 5- worst restaurant in all word I could find . All I have to say it’s it was a bad day made by the restaurant.

We had brunch to celebrate our 29th anniversary. It’s only the second time we’ve eaten at Spurrier’s… tragic I know. However, it won’t be the last. The brunch is the best brunch I’ve had in Gainesville. The experience is a well oiled machine from the reservations to the seating and explanation of how their brunch works. It’s very organized. My husband enjoyed his blood orange mimosa. I thought the coffee was excellent. Super full bodied. The variety of food on the buffet will absolutely satisfy every guest in my opinion. The Belgian waffles were the best I’ve ever had. They didn’t have the strange pre mix flavor that so many waffles have. The fried chicken was crispy and seasoned perfectly. Shrimp and grits were amazing. I could go on about the food but, the one thing that stood out was the service. There was an unfortunate incident at the table next to us that almost made the meal ruined for me personally at no fault of the other guest. Their toddler became ill and what happened as a result affected my appetite I almost had to leave. The staff at Spurrier’s handled the situation with the calmest quickest action and treated the other guest with the toddler with such dignity. Not only did they go into fast cleanup mode in such a quiet way that didn’t disturb other guests…. They could see our table had been affected and moved us to another table and restarted our brunch experience. It was just what I needed to reset and continue to enjoy our anniversary brunch. They went a step further and took care of the food portion of our bill. We did not expect this nor did we request it. When we expressed our wish to pay for our food they turned us down. If every restaurant was managed this way what a wonderful world this would be. 😁 We will absolutely be back to Spurrier’s and it’s the only brunch in town for us!!

Great food. Amazing service. Go Gators!

This was the second time we tried this restaurant. We recently moved here and went in first time a few months ago. We sat at the bar outside when first arrived and were seated bartender came over took our drink order and came back a little while later and took our food order and never returned. We sat there for about 30 min and not one bartender checked on us. Well we decided to give it another try thinking it was maybe a bad night. No same thing, the bartender can over quickly when we first got there took our drink order and we ordered an appetizer. Once the appetizer arrived no one came back to to check if we needed anything, except the bartender who was at the well station making drinks for the dining room. She was very nice and talked to us and asked if we needed help. We were planning on ordering dinner but after the horrible service for a second time we got the bill and went somewhere else to eat. Needless to say there want be be a third time. I don't recommend this restaurant.

We tried out the brunch and it was DELICIOUS! Food was fresh and tasty. Nice variety. This has become a beloved yearly tradition for us and our Gator. (see pics with dates)

Food, drinks, and service are spot on every time and with this, I hosted my post PhD graduation dinner there (~13 guests) in one of their private dining rooms. Planning this dinner with Marianne was so easy and the menu options were great and the price per guest was extremely reasonable given the number of courses and food quality. The service during my party was immaculate, the food and drinks were perfect, and it felt appropriate to celebrate my UF graduation surrounded by UF football memorabilia. Highly suggest stopping there just to enjoy a dinner or brunch but also consider them for your celebration needs!

We hold Spurriers Grid Iron Grille near and dear to our hearts. Every year since they opened we go and enjoy a lovely meal after we get our Gator moved in. We have pics and would love to share but not sure who to send to or how.

It was one of my husband bucket list things to do was to eat a Spurrier's Grille. It was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere and the waitress was breathtaking. When we received our meal it was to perfection. Shrimp scampi and ribeye was cooked just right. Thank you

This place makes me feel like I’m rich. Every time I go there I feel like I just stepped off my private jet coming from a multi million dollar deal meeting up with local billionaires for lunch or breakfast. The place drips with classiness and the food is immaculate. Every. Single. Time. I have never had a bad experience at Spurriers, And I must say that I never will. The staff are quick, courteous and ever so welcoming, and the alcohol is scrumptious. Hands-down my favorite place to go when I am imagining what it is like to be wealthy.

Our food and service was exceptional- we ordered the Tomahawk Pork Chop and it was cooked to perfection. Our bartender, Alex, served us expertly made drinks. My chocolate martini was delicious even though he improvised to use non traditional ingredients. Would highly recommend to all of my friends and clients that come from out of town! Come see Alex! Best server in the place!

The place is well worth a visit. It’s basically a mini sports museum and a restaurant. One of the best toasted head of cauliflowers I’ve tasted!! And you also may run into the ole ball coach himself while there! As well his wife makes some chocolate chip cookies that are on the desert menu…don’t hesitate to try them either!! 💥

Very good service for a full house on Saturday night. Great quality food and when a mistake was made, they fixed it immediately.

We just been there and was a little bad experience with the food, we order a Cesar salsa 5/5 and a fried calamari and that was so dry, small and bad 0/5 The margarita was medium to much juice and not flavor

Wow! Favor is fair! Lol. What a wonderful 31st Wedding Anniversary surprise! We made our reservation at Spurrier's and they sat us in a private room all by ourselves. I promise y'all that we did not ask, they said it was our surprise. Check out the videos and pics below. My husband was nervous and immediately asked me "How much did it cost to get this private room"? Lol. The hospitality was A+ from the time we walked into the door. Our Server/Waiter "Will" was awesome and received a TIP well above 20%. The food and dessert were awesome, absolutely delicious! We enjoyed the Atmosphere, and the Customer Service /Hospitality was superb. We took half of our food home. The Ribeye, Asparagus, and Broccolini are not listed as options to choose below to recommend. However, we highly recommmend all of the food you see in the pics below. Thanks you guys for truly being the icing on the cake for us together. Thank you also for the two glasses of complimentary champagne for our toast. Here's to us! July 24, 1993. You guys Rock!

Prices are just way too high. I get the atmosphere is great, but for what you get, the cost cannot be justified.

Spurrier's Gridiron Grille has one of the best steaks I have ever tasted. All of the memorabilia in the restaurant makes for a great atmosphere.

Perfect end to a wonderful day! Showing our daughter around campus and thought Spurriers would fit the theme perfectly. Never expected what they delivered! The food was nothing short of amazing and delicious, the service was great, and the décor was perfect. We had the cheese rolls, and spinach dip with a St. Augustine flight to start. For entree’s our daughter had the Mac & cheese with fries, the fries were soo good (we stole many 🤫 ), we ordered the Shrimp and Grits, and the Short Rib Risotto. OMGsh, both were absolutely fantastic! As I’m eating my leftovers I just had to leave this review. The only negative is we didn’t get dessert because there is a Killswins across. We are from Orlando, but agreed this needs to be incorporated in every trip. Looking forward to a return visit. Ps- It’s great to be a Florida Gator!🐊 (Steve is the GOAT!)

I absolutely loved the food and atmosphere here! Our server was Rebecca and she was very helpful and attentive. The Manager, David is also the best! I am a vegetarian and found a few good options to choose from. My boyfriend and I will definitely be dinning here again!

This is not our first time here. However, this time was the best we've had. My husband and I celebrated our anniversary here and a huge thank you to everyone who made it even more special. Our server Crispin was absolutely wonderful and very attentive. The cocktail and food were so good!!! We started off with the cheesy rolls and shrimp scampi appetizers amazing. My husband ordered the Ribeye with Mac&Cheese. The steak was cooked perfectly and could cut it with a fork. I ordered the macadamia crusted Mahi and the best I've ever had. Ended our meal with cheesecake, and that topped it off.

Great atmosphere, the staff was awesome and the food was excellent! Wonderful Anniversary Dinner.

The food was amazing! The all you can eat was amazing too!! Very clean and sanitized. The workers are amazing as they are so kind to people! I recommend you to eat the brunch there, it is insanely good.

We went here to eat after my Aunt's viewing with about 24 people. We were well accommodated with 3 servers and they allowed me to have an outside drink of blueberry juice. The atmosphere was great. But I don't think this would be a place I would eat at very often due to it being $$$.

Friday September 15, 2023 Mr. Steve Spurrier is an amazing person and Forever a Legend! We had early reservations and we were astounded to see Mr. Spurrier and hear him speak. A very special experience indeed! Our Team member Will B. was wonderful. Will took our “StarStruck” attention in stride. Will was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. Especially in regards to the name of the dish I ordered off of the Game Day Menu. Drinks: I had the Lychee Martini which was delightful, but wish it was a little lager;) We both really enjoyed The Head Beer Coach 1966 American Lager! Starters: Truffle Short Rib Crostinis (for two) was endorsed by our server Will and we would also highly recommend them, so Yummy! Entrees: My husband got the Tomahawk Porkchop “Work’Em Silly” and I got the “Emory & Henry”, Seafood Pasta. We were both extremely pleased with our meals. Everything was absolutely delicious! Mr. Spurrier’s Team at Spurrier’s Gridiron Grille were fantastic. The culinary team, the quality of the food, and the service were excellent! We have reservations to try Brunch next time we are in town and can’t wait for another outstanding experience! Update: Sunday November 5,2023 BRUNCH! Don’t miss out! Make a reservation and try it! Spurrier’s is the best restaurant in Gainesville, Florida! Everything was excellent. Favorites: The beef, mac n cheese, grits, and cornbread. Even the strawberry rhubarb butter for the waffles. It’s all in the details which are top notch! Outstanding!

A wonderful shrine to the legendary HBC! The place is filled with tons of memorabilia. Food was great. Burger was cooked perfectly and had #11 pressed in the bun. Absolutely loved the atmosphere and the service was great. Definitely have to make a trip back here during football season. Go Gators!

Went to Spurriers last night for the first time. Excellent wait staff. Nice bustling large restaurant atmosphere. But my blackened redfish was dry, and only edible because of the ball of herbed butter served along with it (though no bread served to our table. I put it on the fish.) Broccolini was tough and hard to chew, pretty much inedible. I won't be back.

I can write a book on how great Dalton was to me, my friends and family. From the time we walked in until the end of our event. He was extremely supportive, helpful and very kind to all of us. He even played one of our games with us. His customer service is 10 stars. I highly recommend him and this restaurant. Can’t think him enough.

The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable! Jim, our host/server, made our 33rd anniversary exceptional. I'm very happy and highly recommend making a reservation. I was just disappointed that some guests weren't dressed appropriately for a venue that cost what it did. However, with that said, we still had a wonderful time, and the topping of the evening was to see Spurrier himself.

Had a Caesar salad 🥗, yum 😋, the crab 🦀 and lobster 🦞 cakes were delicious too. The table ordered friend calamari. oh my! So good. My lemon chicken soup 🍲 was cold, but they took care of it fairly quickly. Pleasant service. I don't know if I was having a hot flash the entire time I was there or maybe the AC could have been a bit cooler. 🤔 Sadly we also had some gnats and flies flying around (nuisance) but they promised to take care of that so I trust they will.

Don’t be FOOLED by anyone—this is a great stop with delicious food. Allyssa was hilarious! I have celiac as well and have fantastic options here and haven’t been sickened either.

Celebrated a graduation in a private room. Service was top notch. Servers catered to all of the normal requests and then some not so normal (6 children 4 under 4 created some additional demands. Very accommodating and completed with a gracious attitude. Former football coaches memorabilia throughout the entire facility.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Spurriers, and I must say, the highlight of my experience was the exceptional service provided by our server, Torrie. From the moment we were seated, Torrie made us feel welcomed and well taken care of. Her warm smile and friendly demeanor was great. The service overall was a very pleasent experience.

Burger was pretty good. Kids got grilled cheese that was solid. The dessert pudding with the bourbon and espresso beans though... Good God is it good.

Drove from Jacksonville to Spurriers. Disappointed was seated on the second floor Visors Rooftop had no air condition. Not a touchdown! The very limited menu on second floor is 100% different from the ground floor. Ordered Tenderloin Kabobs. Was not a Kabob no skewer like I expected. Was served with yellow rice, some grilled vegetables and three slice of tenderloin. To much rice more vegetables please. The plate Presentation was not a touchdown needed a coach. Our server was very nice and plan to return but not on the Visors rooftop.

I’ve been to Spurriers several times, but this time was a standout. Our server, Ava, was fabulous. I was celebrating a graduation with my family, and Ava made the experience even more special. On top of great services, the food came out quickly and it was DELICIOUS. The drinks were only very slightly backed up, but Ava came and checked in with us consistently to let us know the status of our drinks. The Spurriers team even gave me a graduation card that they all signed with a little treat. It was the sweetest parting gift after a fantastic experience! I highly suggest this place for anyone in Gainesville looking for somewhere to celebrate with their family or friends. Thanks Ava for being the absolute best!

Spurrier's is what one would expect at its price point, and there are many food photos and comments by others, so I won't add a lot to that. I will say, it is my goto place for a well crafted Caesar salad. To me, it's one of the best if not the best Caesar salads in town. For me, the chicken wings are sublime. Amongst the best I’ve ever had. They are not the typical sports bar wings in either size or price, because Spurrier’s isn’t sports bar. It’s a sport themed, higher-end restaurant. In my opinion, the wings are totally worth it. The eight wings served at Spurrier's are a hefty size, perhaps equating in meat volume to many other places 10 or 12 wing servings. The sauce selection is limited to three, but even if they had dozens, for me, the Spurrier's house made Louisiana sauce is the perfect mix of heat and tang. I get it every time. I've been to Spurrier's several times, and my favorite way to experience it is when Celebration Pointe has a free concert. Celebration has free concerts regularly, and Spurrier's will often open their outdoor bar window, allowing procurement of adult beverages to be enjoyed during the show, since purchased open containers are allowed outside at Celebration Pointe. After the show, I'll often go inside and sit at the bar for a Caesar salad, wings, or both, along with a nightcap to finish the evening. The photos posted are of a recent Jazz on the Green concert featuring the band Mindwalk, and a shot of the outdoor bar window that is to the left of the main entrance, which is just off "the green." You can’t miss it.

This place is like walking into the 90s Gator football. There is memorabilia everywhere. For anyone that was there during that time, Spurrier's is a definite must-visit. Side from the decor, the food was just ok. The best thing we had was the side of mac and cheese, which, at those prices, made that our first and last food-ordering visit.

What an absolute treat! It was our first visit and Rebecca made us feel like family. The nostalgic memorabilia took us back to the 90s. We are a family of Gator Graduates and seeing visors, footballs, and helmets really took us back. The food was amazing! The shrimp and grits are so flavorful and the short rib with risotto was tender and cooked perfectly. If you are a Gator fan, this is a must do. Wonderful service and a great family atmosphere. Very cool interior, lots of fun memorabilia for sports fans. Big bar area and outdoor seating. Food was very good, especially the spare rib and mushroom risotto. On the expensive side, but a good option if you are ok with that.

Amazing ambience, great food, really the neatest place to eat in town. Louise was an amazing waitress and made it even better. Speech from Spurrier closed it out. Go Gators!

Where to start? We arrived slightly prior to opening hour, at 4:00 pm doors were opened promptly and we were greeted with a smile. Upon being seated we were met with a server assistant (unfortunately I can’t remember his name but he was very attentive) who filled our water glasses and asked us if we had any questions before our server arrived. Our server, Yasmin K., arrived and what a delight she was!! In a day when customer service is not the standard in most places, she blew us away with her knowledge of the menu and with her kindness and sweet spirit. We asked so many questions because we usually don’t eat from Billboard sign suggestions, that’s how we found Spurriers. She was gracious to answer. My husband and I wanted to share an entree because we are traveling and didn’t want to have food leftover. She gave us her professional suggestion based on the size of entrees. For a starter we ordered the Eggplant Fritters - that’s a must, 4 slices with delicious basil, cheese and marinara sauce. The tomahawk pork chop was a home run (if you’re a Braves fan 😉) ! Don’t forget the chimichurri to go with the pork chop, (it’s an extra charge but you’ll thank me) When asked about the Mac n Cheese, Yasmin was an absolute YES! Don’t forget to take a look at all the football memorabilia. The only bad thing we could say is that it’s 300 miles from our home. Well done Mr. Spurrier, and when you’re at your restaurant, ask for Yasmin!!

5 star experience all around! Nick G. provided excellent service! The food, the service, and the amazing experience of seeing Coach Spurrier and his sweet wife Jerri made for a wonderful time! Spurrier’s is a great night for everyone!

Madeline is usually who I run into when ordering take out - not only does she make sure that everyone is taken care of, but she goes beyond the definition of customer service :)

Really, I hadn't been here and thought it was sort of a gimmick to show off the old ball coaches stuff. I was wrong, the food was great, the drinks were great, and the atmosphere was perfect. It's not cheap, but it's entirely reasonable for what it is. I'll be back, and clearly a lot of others will too because this place is pretty busy on a weeknight! Reservations recommended for a large group.

Our waitress was Tori. What a lovely person, let me tell you. I had a rough day at work, and so did my boyfriend and upon arriving to sprayers, she was so kind and accommodating. She made sure to check on us throughout the meal, and was very pleasant and joyful during our time there. I’m very grateful for people like her! Give that girl a raise.

Fantastic variety of plates served. The food is delicious and high quality. The atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. The service is outstanding. Very attentive and courteous. Staff is helpful and friendly as soon as you enter. Well worth a visit for a great dinning experience.

Went to Gainesville to celebrate a birthday. Was recommended this place off of tik tok. Obsessed does not begin to describe the devotion to this man, Spurrier. I get it thats your theme, who am i to judge. What i will judge is the blatant price gouging. For an 8 ounce fillet and a scoop of potatoes they charge $50. I picked a pasta in a bolognese sauce that was a mild $22 and received a sauce that tasted like a can of Chefs. I get that your main target is out of city parents and family of college students looking to visit, and who will only pay once, but the quality of food is so beyond the price and atmosphere that repeats will only be those sad few who want to relive the coaches glory.
