We didn't eat there we went for the music and it was great. We had an awesome time.

Food was nothing to brag about. Haven't been in a couple years and was disapointed this time. Stuffed crab was mostly breading. The stuffed shrimp was a fried patty of breading with a few tiny shrimp in it..not like the usual stuffed shrimp you would expext. Crawfish pie was a tiny pocket of crust with some crawfish flavored gravy in it. Basic fried fish and shrimp was the best on the platter.

We celebrated our 28th anniversary, and the food was outstanding. Best seafood in Louisiana!

The absolute best cajun experience and food. They have the best seafood around and they have non seafood dishes as well. The staff is always amazing. The best place to go for find something for everyone. I get the blackened chicken meal and it's always seasoned and cooked to perfection. They have a band on some days and you can experience some of the best cajun music in the area.

This is the setting of some of the greatest memories of my life. Great food, great music and great people. Thank you.

Was a member of a group of 15 on April 13th and we had a bit of a wait for a table but once seated, the waiters were fast, friendly, got every order correct and the food was perfect.

Typical restaurant with a nice atmosphere with the live music band and the waitress was very nice, showing us how to eat crawfish from the shell. The food was tasty According to my palate it was a little too spicy (i am very sensitive to it)

We flew in and got a super warm greeting from the owner. The food was 10/10, my only complaint is I wanted more. The beignets are out of this world. Do yourself a favor and go down some back roads in LA and find this place!

They would not let us go where the band was. When we asked they said it was reserved. Then someone asked to go in where and just let them. Catfish tasted like mud.

Amazing!! Absolutely amazing food and service

That atmosphere was great. Looking for a good cajun time and dancing, this is your place. Especially if you're 50+. The waitress was great and didn't mess up our orders, and there was like 15 of us. Ok, on to the food I can't really comment too much on. I wasn't hungry, so I had a salad, but I did try the cheese sticks, and they were very good. My husband got the crabs and said he did not like the bbq ones, only the grilled ones. The fried bread is really good. Wish it was stuffed like a pistolet ( I don't know if that how to spell it). Bloody Mary's are small, and you get a lot of ice. So it is about 1/3 of a normal bloody Mary, and it's $9.

My boyfriend plays music here and the food is actually amazing The Waitresses are very kind and down to earth and fun and obviously the music in my opinion is also awesome!!

The food was scrumptious. The Blackened Oysters & the Blackened Gator Bites hors d'oeuvres were worth every single bite--a MUST every time! This time, I had the Blackened Redfish with Etouffee. Yum, yum, YUM!!! Another must-have is "The World Famous Bread Pudding!!!" As for customer service, every staff member was extremely friendly & really seemed to want to know every customer. I felt like an old valued customer; even though this was my second time at DI's. In my 65 years of life, I've been to lots & lots of restaurants worldwide. DI's has been the "hands down" absolute BEST with every respect concerning this restaurant. If you haven't been there yet, what are you waiting for? 🤔 Ya gotta geaux! 😊

Good service, decent atmosphere, crabs overrated for nearly 50 bucks a dozen and pretty much empty crabs. I would think with all their experience in dealing with crabs they could determine by weight a crab before they cook it. I won't be buying crabs if I go back.

Do not, I repeat , DO NOT, get the steak. It looks microwaved. It’s absolutely horrible. Service was good. Seafood was good but my oh my those horrid steaks are just ridiculous. It was gray

My friends took me here this past weekend. I loved the food for the most part it was one of the best I've had in Louisiana. I got the Barbeque Crabs, the Stuffed Jalapeno (it was a bit cold and mushy stuffing but overall good). I also got to try the Blackened Gator Bites which were amazing. I didn't realize until I was about to leave that I was the only person of color, and when I noticed that I also noticed a lot of stares coming my way (all were from patrons and non from the friendly welcoming staff), I felt uneasy a bit towards the end because of it. It could all be in my head I just wanted to throw that out there.

Staff is always super friendly and helpful with the menu. Food is great.

Bbq crabs are a must try. Absolutely delicious. The service is great as well.

This is such a fun place to go eat and dance. The food is always great, I got the boiled Dungeness crab, and my husband got the pork chop, and they both were amazing. I also had a lemon drop martini, and it was so delicious I had to have two! I have so many memories as a child, coming here with my grandparents and dancing with my Paw-paw. He taught me how to two step to zydeco on that dance floor, and I'll always cherish this place because of these memories. I'm glad to see it's still popping and serving delicious food! Next time we come down, I'll bring the kids so they can experience the magic, too.

Wonderful quaint restaurant in Basile with excellent service and the food is exemplary. Had the crawfish etoufee and fried catfish. Both were divine.If you are ever in the area make an effort to come by and visit.

We came all the way from KY (again) for the great food!

Food was ok, Gumbo was just water and roux with maybe salt and pepper and tiny salad shrimp. Anyone could make that gumbo which I consider a fail. I could make a gumbo that customers would drive for miles to come eat. Ok, fried shrimp, stuffed potatoe, shrimp Etouffee and blackened Shrimp were all good, Etouffee had a flavor I have never tasted before and Etouffee is my favorite Cajun dish. my wife had what looked like a half of a boiled potatoe cut in a cubed pattern, with butter and seasonings on it and it was like where did that come from. I never seen anything like that in Louisiana and I grew up in Louisiana. Price is are decent but amount of food is small. My saying is that if you can't cook gumbo and you call yourself Cajun then get out of the kitchen. As a Cajun I was disappointed in what I ate, maybe other food is good but gumbo wasn't one of them.

We went on Saturday. It was a busy night. We were a table of 12. We ordered our appetizers and entrees. It was a bit slow coming, but that was expected considering how busy it was. When the food came mine was missing. The waitress walked away immediately. I assumed she was heading to get my plate. Water glasses stood empty and most where done with their meal before we finally saw her to flag her down. We asked for water refills and I told her I didn't get my food. She just shrugged her shoulders and asked if I wanted it. I told her not to bring it for her to remove it from my bill and to bring the check. Everyone was done with there meal. No apologies give by my waitress which ticked me off. Ten minutes later while still waiting for my check the owner passed by and we tell her that a whole meal was absent and she shrugged and said oh well we're slammed tonight. 😳🤯. No apology given. She didn't look surprised or unhappy that this happened. Then another 20 minutes passed before I flagged the waitress down and demanded my check. The food wasn't terrible but wasn't great either. Service was poor, salads not brought, and water glasses left empty. After my experience I'd say that I will definitely never step foot in DIs again.

What an AWEFUL EXPERIENCE we had at this restaurant! The lady at the front who was checking reservations was SOOOOO RUDDDDEEEE! She told me I had to use the restroom outside like a dog! I came from out of town to eat and will never ever go here again! What a horrible mean lady!! I hope the owners of this establishment read this review and take action with this lady! She was so disrespectful.

Live Cajun music and good food. The place was full and staff worked very hard to keep up.

We had a blast but a few things you should know. Our very large party almost lost our tables because we didn't arrive at the same time. Arriving 7 minutes late left me feeling anxious as I received 2 phone calls urging me to hurry or we would lose tables. On the dance floor kids must be dancing with an adult due to a lawsuit. Or at least that's what the floor police said. The food was good but not worth the hour trip but the music was You go for the good time which we definitely had even with the glitches

D.I.'s has a lot of genuine classic Cajun flavor and style. I hadn't visited since I was a kid, and I was especially impressed to see their website and updated menus. The onion blossom is executed perfectly. So is their fried catfish.

Food- Only had barbecued crabs and stuffed jalapeños and, goodness me, both were absolutely delicious! Staff was very pleasant and friendly - hostess, bartender, server, and whoever was answering the phones! Probably the best all around service I've received at a restaurant in the last 2 years. I imagine Mr. DI would be proud. 🙂 Was worth the 55 minute drive.

MY DAD HAS BEEN PLAYING MUSIC HERE FOR YEARS!! SO I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR A LONG TIME AND IT IS MY FAVORITE RESTAURANT!! THE FOOD IS ALWAYS ON POINT AND THERE IS NOTHING ON THE MENU THAT IS NOT GOOD. EVERYTHING IS DELICIOUS AND FRESH. I LOVE THE FACT THAT YOU CAN ORDER THE BUCKETS OF BEER AND THAT THEY HAVE LIVE CAJUN MUSIC. THE WHOLE PLACE SCREAMS LOUISIANA! IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF NO-WHERE AND TAKES A GOOD LIL DRIVE BUT THAT'S WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE AND STAND OUT FROM THE REST. ITS DEFIANTLY WORTH THE DRIVE!!

Some of the best Cajun food around. The ettuffee was very good. I make it a point to eat there when we pass through the area. A little out of the way but well worth the drive to get there.

Delicious boiled crawfish and the place is a cajun institution. There is cajun music on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Ms. Sherry, the owner, is very sweet and runs a tight ship. Her blueberry dessert was unbelievably good.

Excellent Cajun restaurant. The food was really good. The atmosphere was great. There was a live band playing while we were eating. They have a dance floor set up in front of the stage. It's a little off the beaten path but well worth it. We had the fried alligator for an appetizer and it was some of the best I've had, and I don't typically like gator. I had the crawfish platter for my meal and it was really good. Would definitely recommend if you want a more authentic Cajun experience.

Me, and a friend was lucky enough to hear about this place when we were close by they have a very well maintained grass airstrip, and the best food i havs had in a long time great staff.

Never made it inside. Opened at 5 and we got there around 5:20. Place was packed and we had a 6 hour trip home. We'll have to come back. Based on the crowd the food has got to be good

Me and my friends went to D.I.'s to celebrate my birthday. We were more than pleased with the food! The live music was great and added to to our enjoyment. What a fun place it was! We will definitely be back!

The food has been really great.. (The only thing that I have "personally" been disappointed with was the fried Catfish strips, but, remember, that's just my opinion, not all taste buds are the same. You may love em. The service is always friendly & accommodating. And of course,, Al Roger & the Band is always very entertaining.

A nice family style restaurant. We were 6, 2 children and 4 adults. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the visit. The waitress was very friendly and helpful.

The meal was good except for their salad. It had bad leaves . I sent back and received another bowl just as bad
