Service was great at the lunch counter and picking out some cheeses to take home. We got come great recommendations. Our sandwiches were tasty and they had a really fun beverage selection. Looking forward toto going back.

I'm sure the food is good because of the amount of people in line, but for a cheese shop? Pass! We drove from Ascension Parish to go there since we're in a food drought where we live. We were hoping to find some new cheeses and charcuterie, but we felt like we were in the way the entire time from the servers bringing out food, to the people in line to order lunch. The charcuterie is literally in front of the register. They have a great selection, but their set up is terrible unless you're ordering food. Truly disappointed! We ended up not tasting or buying anything because it was so frustrating. I did hear that the uptown location is more spread out. We will try.

My friend has a medical alert service dog and it is clearly marked on the vest and leash that it is a service dog. As soon as we walked in the door someone came up to us and told us we had to leave and that dogs were not allowed. When we told them it was a service dog she said “I don’t care that doesn’t matter, chef will come out in a minute to tell you to leave if you aren’t gone.” We were offered to still place an order but not be in the resturaunt but how could you eat somewhere where the first thing they do is tell you you’re not welcome here? Horrible experience.

Regular spot I hit when in New Orleans. If by myself get the Smokey Blue, packed with roast beef and blue cheese. The charcuterie plates are excellent as well. Great for groups.

I'm a cheese LOVER but there are zero cheese shops where we live... the staff was FABULOUS helping pick a variety of magnificent flavors, as well as cheeses that will last in my frig. Told us about shopping online and their wonderful shipping staff. What a wonderful find 🧀

Outstanding! Stumbled upon this one and couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised. We had the muffaletta, gruyerre grilled cheese and turkey/Swiss, each of which were excellent. Service was quick and friendly, nice ambiance clean, would definitely return.

The BEST lunch spot in New Orleans hands down. The sandwiches were filled with fresh ingredients and SO delicious. The vibe was trendy, clean and not too crowded. Not to mention the delicious cheese options available for tasting and purchase. Will be back every time we’re in town!!

We stopped by for lunch on a very busy Tuesday afternoon, and it was so lovely to eat a delicious fresh mozzarella sandwich inside on such a hot day. My sandwich was delicious!

Where do I even start? Rude, unhelpful, unknowledgeable, condescending woman behind the counter in Tchoup location. Have always had an excellent experience in the Prytania location. I will never stepfoot in the downtown location again. Will even think twice about patronizing uptown. Such a shame.

Great local cheese shop and gourmet store. Excellent cheese selections and they even have books, jams, jellies and crackers. The menu is wonderful and has a rustic grilled cheese, which is very good. The staff is excellent and offers samples of cheeses. Highly recommended in the Warehouse District, and is close to Canal Street.

Such a lovely place. The tables were a bit dirty though as I’ve visited soon after peak lunchtime. Mac and cheese was very tasty.

The blueberry hill salad is very satisfying. Mac and cheese is excellent also!

Best Cheese and Meat Selection in New Orleans

I absolutely love this place. The service is phenomenal and their selection is fantastic. The cheese “master” knows her cheeses and is super helpful. The patio is fun to sit and enjoy the weather. I also go whenever I’m in the area!

My daughter treated me to a fabulous lunch on my birthday. I can not express how much I enjoyed the food, atmosphere, and, of course, the company of my daughter. The cheeses were extraordinary!

St. James Cheese Company, an incredible cheesemonger, is situated across the street from my hotel in New Orleans. I grabbed a sandwich for lunch yesterday and snacked on a fantastic cheese plate this afternoon. I love cheese 🧀. Funky, stinky, hard, soft, aged, and new. The variety offered at St. James is not one I have frequently come across. The staff has a passion and depth of knowledge about the cheese that is tangible. The cheese plate I had today was excellent with wonder accoutrements. As for the sandwich that I devoured yesterday, I ordered the Il Mostro- coppa, mortadella, rosemary ham, and provolone with pickled red onions, tomato, and pepperoncini mayo; sublime.

LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this place! The entire atmosphere is fabulous! The food? Beyond good. Outstanding variety. The cheeseboard was to die for. So generous for the price!! A MUST eat at!!! GO!

I've had high expectations about the Mac'n'Cheese and they were fulfilled!

Grilled ham and cheese was excellent and had some aged cheeses, blueberry jam and crackers.

We ordered two sandwiches – one with salami and various sausages, the other with mozzarella and assorted cheeses. Both were incredibly tasty. The staff, especially the guy at the counter, was friendly. A must-visit in New Orleans. Highly recommend trying their imported European cheeses, especially the smoked brie. Solid 5 stars!

Great local place in the Warehouse district. This was roughly a mile walk for us from the French Quarter. Definitely worth the walk to a local restaurant. Very relaxed placed. Place your order and the food is brought to your table. Beers, wines, mixed drinks available. We had a salad and the mixed cheese/meat board. You can choose your own or let them choose.

The food was great and different cheese offerings were really well done. Inside dinning was a bit tight but the outdoors was a great choice.

This is a divine spot I am reluctant to share because I want all its culinary treasures for myself. I've had the pate platter twice; so delicately put together that it brings to life the adage "food is art," and we "eat first with our eyes." The condiments that come with (from a spicy mustard to a lovely fig jam) the specialty meats and crunchy slices of authentic French baguette - oh la la. Their brie and ham, also on a crusty baguette - decorated with a generous spread of French butter made me feel I was back on the banks of the Seine. If I win lotto I'm moving in across the street, somehow....

Lunch during the week. Wife got an amazing Gruyere sandwich that tasted like French onion soup in a sandwich. Amazing. I got the 5 piece charcuterie and they ask a few questions and then make the board. Sooo goooood, the things they picked. Had to get more to take back to the hotel. Not too busy on a weekday lunch, but would be worth a wait.

Unbelievable, 7 of us went on a trip down here. Not New Orleans specific food but the Mac, the ham and brie, the grilled turkey cheese and tomato bisque, everything was amazing. Not cheap, not crazy.

Very nice place. We ordered a cheese table and it was amazing and affordable. They also have good quality products not only from the US but from other places. As an example, we bought white tuna in olive oil from Galicia, Spain, but there are a million of other options.

The restaurant at Saint James Cheese Company is very good with good service. Inside and out door seating is available. We also like it as a market as well. They carry a very wide variety of cheeses, some we can’t find elsewhere. Even better they offer samples and will slice any amount you like. Very nice people with great service. This is definitely our go to spot for cheese.

This place was beyond delicious. Amazing cheese, bread, and drinks. I got the Brie and Ham sandwich with a side salad and the tomato basil soup. I wish I could pick what was my favorite part of the meal, but it was all fantastic. Each bite was so perfect in its own way. My lunch date gor their hot mufaletta and it was so tasty. Salty and savory and perfectly toasted. Definitely come give this a try, I know I’ll be making a stop here whenever I’m in NOLA again.

This is a must try if you’re in the warehouse district of New Orleans. I came for a solo lunch on a Friday and the place was packed, and for a good reason. The salad was delicious. Serving sizes were great. Wish I could have visited again to try more of the menu!

We wondered in here on our way to the convention center, and I’m so glad we did. The sweet person behind the counter made us a charcuterie board tailored to our personal cheese preferences. It was delicious and an enjoyable snack (which ended up being lunch). They have lots of fun gifts/unique foods. We sat on the couch and enjoyed our cheese, crackers and other snack items while sipping the coffee from next door. I’d come back to try the sandwiches or salads!

I’m writing this review from the restaurant right now with empty plates and the fullest belly. I’ve eaten lunch here for three days in a row now. Their chèvre cheesecake, il monstro and mufaletta sandwiches are incredible. The staff and ambience are all so welcoming and inviting. Truly some of the best sandwiches I’ve had in my life. Very unassuming location, restaurant and market that transports you to an open air Italian market on a summer day. They craft charcuterie boards to order, serve beer and wine and you’re also able to purchase products your dishes are made with. Unreal. Thank you!

It's a shop and restaurant has chips, jelly and of course cheese. Wide variety of jelly and cheese. Menu was small (not a bad thing). Food was amazing and the Bloody Mary was great.

Came here because we saw it on Google maps. They did not disappoint. We did the pick 5 and a small Mac and cheese to share. We had just flown in so we decided to take it back to hotel. They packed everything so well with a separate bag with bread and utensils tucked inside. It was so much food we ended up skipping dinner! The selections were delicious and portions were generous considering the quality of the cheeses and meats. This is not a place to pass over. Thanks for sharing your passion and skill!

Excellent salads and sandwiches.

We were trying to find a cheese themed cafe to eat at before we had an appointment for the WWII Museum. This wonderful restaurant was a few blocks away and there was street parking about a half block away. The staff was wonderful, and the food was fantastic. One thing I can say about New Orleans is that everyone we came into contact with was simply amazing. This restaurant and its staff were every better than amazing. Nothing like being treated like valued customers and getting a wonderful lunch. Everything our party ordered was fantastic and reasonable in cost. Great, great experience and if I every go back to New Orleans, I will go here again.

It is comfortable, the service quality, the food exceptional, and it's far enough away from the wackiness of a few blocks down it's like coming up for air and realizing there are still some good things if you look a little further.

We were in search of a good mufelatta and thought a cheese shop would probably have the best meats cheese and olives…. Boy were we right!! The food here is spectacular… great local beer on tap, uhmazing Mac n cheese… the cheesecake was divine with little kiwi berries and toasted walnuts on top. Attention to appearance smell and taste are top notch! Will come here every time I visit for sure!

I treated myself to a decadent evening out on my own at Cheese, Chocolate, and Champagne with the St. James Cheese Company downtown. I enjoyed savoring various cheeses curated by St. James Cheese Company as I learned about their origins, while nibbling on locally-made and limited-edition chocolates by Piety and Desire Chocolate, while sipping a selection of bubbly from Artisan Fine Wines. The event was sold out weeks ago and I wrote to Molly, the lead Cheese Monger to ask her to put me on a waiting list in case anyone canceled. And luckily for me, she rang my number and we made it happen. The restaurant at Tchoupitoulas is sunny and has a wonderful array of cheeses and other items to accompany them. The staff is very helpful and friendly. You cannot go wrong with any of the cheese selections here. Thrilled to have such a resource and such knowledgeable Cheese Mongers here in New Orleans!

Such a cute cheese shop in New Orleans. We were helped so much by the staff. They suggested various cheeses and accompaniments and even sampled some!

We stopped in for a lunch and were pleased with the food. We got salads, cheese plates, sandwiches and Mac & Cheese. All were great. We liked the outdoor seating as well as the drink options - beer and wine. Really a great lunch spot.
