The food is always made with love and care. The service is the friendliest I’ve ever experienced. It’s been one of my go-to spots for years. Highly recommend.

Great ace to grab great food. We've eaten there many times and never had a bad meal. Proprietors are friendly serving up a great atmosphere for dining. We have become big fans of Middle Eastern/Lebanese food because of this establishment.

This restaurant is an absolute Jem. The food has yet to disappoint and the prices are fair for the portions. The owner is very nice and seems to really care for his business. This has quickly become one of my favorite places to find authentic middle eastern food. P.S. Don't forget the Grocery part too. I'm like a fat kid in a candy store when I'm in there.

Our waiter was very attentive and nice! The cinnamon tea was delicious and both specials they had (traditional Palestinian dishes) were incredible! We browsed the sweets in their grocery section before we left, they have a great selection. Highly recommend supporting this place!!

We are from the NY / CT area and vacationing in New Orleans. Tonight we decided to try Stella Maris as it was close to where we are staying. What an amazing treat! We were greeted by an incredibly gracious waitstaff. We followed her menu recommendations and we could not have been more pleased. The Stella Maris Special appetizer (baba ganuj, hummus, falafel, roasted eggplant, stuffed grape leaves, tabouleh), the lebanese spinach cheese roll, and the baklava were among the best that we have eaten … and we have tried middle eastern cuisine in many cities and states over many years. During our stay in New Orleans, we ate at several highly rated places in foodie articles … and Stella Maris ranks among the best meal that we had. Our only regret is our scarce opportunity to return to this place again. If you have an opportunity to dine here, do not let it pass by!

In 2024, it's difficult to find eateries (or any business, for that matter) which check most to all of the standard boxes. Ask yourself when you last went out to eat somewhere with good food, prepared and presented thoughtfully, served promptly, in a pleasant atmosphere, by caring and attentive waitstaff, for an amount of money that didn't sting when the check arrived. Stella Maris meets and exceeds each and every one of these criteria, which has been cause for me and mine to return there on a biweekly basis for the past several months, as we will continue to do for the foreseeable future. Jamal and the rest of the Stella Maris crew have gone to noteworthy lengths to make each dining *and shopping* experience one which, lamentably, resembles fewer and fewer businesses in the US, and feels more like the hospitality one could expect abroad, in a far less atomized, sanitized, corporatized, price-gouging country than this one. When after dinner one night, one of us accidentally knocked over our hookah, shattering the glass base, Jamal was emphatic that we not worry one bit about it, and didn't charge us a cent for the damage. When I later bought my own (beautiful and affordable) hookah from him as a surprise birthday present, and discovered in it a small design flaw, Jamal automatically and graciously offered an entire replacement hookah at no additional cost, along with a handful of other proposed remedies to ensure I was taken care of. Upon leaving the store that day, I had accidentally left a small piece of our hookah behind, and failed to see him flagging me down in the rear view mirror as I drove away. The next time I stopped in, at first sight of me entering the door, he immediately went to the back and retrieved the piece, perfectly and wordlessly anticipating the very reason for my visit. These people are just plain kind, and that kindness shows up in every facet of their work and their business. You can taste it, hear it, see it, feel it. I feel as nourished by that kindness in my trips to Stella Maris as I do anything on its menu. Rare is the restaurant or store where you feel like helping the place out for free on your day off. This is one such place.

Excellent food and service. Both people behind the counter were very nice! Been here a few times and have not been disappointed. I recently tried their cheese cake and omg they are to die for that I went back a day later to get another two slices. Pictured is their baklava cheesecake: yummy. Tried the lotus cheesecake too and it was my favorite thus far.

The food quality and friendly service are really impressive. The mint lemonade is incredible. Wow. I highly recommend as a fair priced Middle Eastern option! The baba ganouj haunts me. lol

The food lacked a bit of favor in my opinion, the hummus had no flavor the pita was not homemade, maybe because we came so late, not sure.

Just ate with my nephew Jas. Mint lemonade a must! Refreshing not too sweet. Chicken kabob excellent!

The food was so delicious! I had the grape leave and chicken Tikka plate. The cucumber and tomato salad was so good, the chicken fell off the bone and the flavor was amazing. The rice was perfect! I loved all of it!

Just had an incredible and cozy dine in experience. I usually get take out or delivery but had time today to sit inside. The service was extraordinary and so is the stew on special today. Its called fassoulya beyda (white beans) and it was had the most tender flavorful pieces of beef in a luxurious broth with creamy beans. I actually started to cry at the table over how comforting and delicious it was on a chilly work day. I hope they make it a regular menu item because I feel like I had a religious experience at lunch today. My partner got the beef shawarma which was very flavorful as usual and their rice, hummus and baba gamouj are to die for. Highly recommend. The prices in the attached grocery are also great.

It's a nice little resturant with a neighborhood market. The Mediterranean food was amazing. If you like Mediterranean food try this place, you will not be disappointed.

a classic convenience store + kitchen-in-the-back combo. very reminiscent of the indian stores back in my hometown, so i loved the nostalgia !! food was excellent and well priced, and the service was so good! she even gave us some free chocolate as we explored the shelves while we waited for our food. the staff were so friendly and chatted with us. we tried chicken, beef, and lamb - recommend them all!!

I don't leave reviews often, it takes a place to be amazing or awful for me to take my time to leave reviews. I honestly wish I could give more than 5 stars for this place. First the service - The service here is second to none! I have only ever seen one gentleman serving and at the register, I believe he is the owner. He is quick to explain the menu and any specials going on that day. He has pictures on his phone of all the menu items and he is great at explaining each dish. This is awesome for people like me that is not familiar with this type of food. He is very nice and polite. You can see him running around the store to ensure you get served quick! Always has a sense of urgency. Atmosphere - it is a restaurant/grocery store. On the right side they have a few booths and a few tables. The booths are comfortable and and clean! I love that they have a grocery attached! After you order, go and explore the grocery side. They have so many things that I've never seen before! Candies and foods from the other side of the world! Ingredients that you can't find anywhere else. It's honestly really cool to look at all of these different items available. Food - I have only eaten at a few different Mediterranean restaurants, it's not something I typically go for when choosing a place to eat. From what I can tell this stuff is the real deal! I watch a lot of different YouTube channels that explore other cuisine and culture and this place looks spot on and the flavors are great. Please ask about the special of the day! It is always interesting, different, and delicious! Just ask the nice gentleman what it is and he will explain and show pictures right away. Don't shy away because you're unfamiliar, I can guarantee you'll love it. I always get a side of gyro meat no matter what, the small is enough for 2 people. The hummus is delicious and comes with warm bread for dipping. The menu is very diverse and I can't wait to try everything. My fiancé loves the chicken shawarma plate with humus. The portions are enough for 3 meals. You MUST try the fresh mint lemonade. It's made in-house, fresh squeezed juice and blended mint... it's so refreshing and delicious! Ok so that's the savory food part... now the desserts that are offered look great as well. I have tried the pistachio honey cheese cake... words can't describe how good this item is. I had to eat it over 3 days, it doesn't look like a huge slice but it packs a punch. I had to get another one this time around and I also opted to try the biscoff cheesecake. It looks great and I can't wait to dig in later today. Just do yourself a favor and give it a try! The menu is awesome and healthy to boot!

Y’all! Best place in the parish! I recently had the absolute pleasure of grabbing some take out at Stella Maris restaurant, and I must say, it’s nothing short of a culinary paradise. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by the warmest and most hospitable staff you could ever hope to meet. It’s clear that the workers and owners take immense pride in their establishment, and it truly shines through in every aspect of the dining experience. Now, let’s talk about the food. Oh, where do I even begin? The gyro sandwiches were a revelation, bursting with flavor and cooked to absolute perfection. The blend of tender, savory meat and fresh, crisp veggies was a taste sensation like no other. But what truly stole the show were the desserts. I swear, their desserts are sent straight from heaven. This is the spot!!! 100 stars!

My lady friend, new to the neighborhood, discovered this little grocery and café, and it has become a regular lunch spot for us. The staff are engaging. The food is consistently of the highest quality and preparation. We are working our way through the menu with delight. Prices are reasonable as well. The Turkish salad with eggplant has become a go-to favorite

We really enjoy eating here. My husband loves the gyro plate with lamb and I love the Greek salad and lentil bean soup. Always good. Plus, get the baklava!!!

The food is excellent and I don't believe you can go wrong in anything that you order. If you're not sure about what to order, they are more than happy to explain their cuisine. Great people! Very friendly staff. Had a takeout Shwarma and it was very good. While waiting I browsed through the large store full of foreign goodies. From Arabic Coffee's to Greek Black Olives, which I purchased. I will be back!

Truly a "best kept secret" as I've driven by it countless times without realizing it was a full service restaurant. They had a lamb shank special which over exceeded expectations and their falafel and eggplant salad was so good too. Very kind staff too, checking on us regularly. Can't wait to go back.

Amazing food and best kept secret on Judge Perez. Looks like a store, but also has a sweet, comfortable dining area when you look a little closer. The drinks are also REALLY good (like the mint lemonade). The food hits every taste bud and is unforgettable.

I really enjoy the food here. I always end up getting the gyro plate, which is priced very reasonably for the amount of food you recieve. Flavors are great. My companion recently tried the lamb chops and they were really tasty. I always get the Lebanese tea when order as well. They use to have an extensive fresh greek? bakery display inside. Never disappointed with this place.

One of my favorite Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants and overall favorites in St. Bernard! My boyfriend had never tried Lebanese before and now he is hooked. We tried Olive in the CBD and this is still his favorite. The service is really good too.

We’ve been searching for really good falafel and gyro place and tonight we found it! We ordered falafel appetizer, gyro plate with rice and hummus, a large side of gyro, 2 sides of gyro bread, and 2 different pieces of baklava. Definitely enough for 2 for 2 meals! Everything tasted great. My boyfriend loved the gyro and their falafel is now my favorite! The store had some really interesting items and the staff was very friendly!

Hands down the best Mediterranean (Jordanian specifically) in the city. Blows Mona's and Lebanon's out of the water. Cleo's is good but this place is better. The quality of the food is reliable. Homemade labneh. Free delivery. Shatila baklava. They are fast, kind, consistent. Stella Maris special is on point. Sandwiches are full and extremely affordable. You'll love it.
