A hidden gem! Welcoming atmosphere; excellent service, top grade meals at reasonable $$'s. As the motto says, it makes Churchville feel like home!

The grouper I got was the last one. A special of the night. It was mangled, mismatched pieces of grouper on the plate. It was also cold. Rice had no flavor. Also not warm. Salad, boring, iceberg with onion and garbanzo beans. The restaurant was very busy so I don't understand what the locals see in it. My dining companions were equally underwhelmed. Maybe the reasonable prices were the attraction, but I would rather pay more to get something I enjoy. With all the good reviews for Stone's , I was disappointed to say the least.

Terrific restaurant with wonderful owners and staff! It always feels like coming home when I stop here for just 1 drink or a whole evening with a great meal. Spending time here, you'll gain another family. ❤️

We order take out usually. Our favorite things on menu are Fish Fry, chicken parm, prime rib. The new fries are delicious.

I had one of the nightly specials Monterey Chicken with mashed potatoes on the side and it was fantastic.

This is the best family restaurant around. Food is always great, owners are clearly community members who love what they do. Place is always packed but I've never waited more than 15 minutes. Great parking. Friendly bartenders and staff.

Stone’s Counteyside has the best fish fry in Monroe County. The service is fantastic and the Stone family is very welcoming. A great place for lunch or dinner!

Everything was great, including the plate. Got a second meal too... double burgers and scum sauce on the site. Alfredo had chicken and broccoli, but that's what was left.

Nothing says Friday like an excellent fish fry! The place was packed out. Routine occurrence on Fridays so if you are going on Friday reservations are recommended. I can endorse whole heartedly the breaded fish fry. It was well prepared and the kitchen was turning tables quickly. I would definitely come here again.

In my opinion this is the epitomie of a great countryside bar in rural New York State. I've experienced friendly service, excellect food, cocktails and craft beers. Plus it's family owned and operated. No better way to support small business in NY.

Food is OK. Definitely not bad and the portions are good but kind of bland. Definitely edible but nothing to write home about. Service is excellent.

Oh my goodness, this place is just incredible. The owner Dan is one of the nicest guys I have ever met. Food is incredible, and the atmosphere incredible you just feel like you're home, even if you've never even been in this place. Clean, cozy, comfortable, I loved it. I'm going back as soon as I can.

Not crowded mid afternoon about 3:30. Was getting busier when we left though. Very nice staff. Good food. The fries & coleslaw were excellent! Wish I'd had room for dessert. They all sounded so good!

My go to restaurant in the area. This is the place I recommend to anyone looking for a good meal. Family owned and operated for decades, bounced back after a devastating fire and doing great. Always specials that change daily (check their FB page for that) and home made desserts. Plenty of parking and a welcoming feeling. This could be a "Cheers" in the area. Go a few times and the other regulars and staff will get to know you if you want. They are also on the snowmobile trail for those that ride. I can't say enough good things about this establishment. Prices are reasonable.

Stones is a neat little restaurant in Churchville. They make the best macaroni salad anywhere. Atmosphere is loud, there always been busy when I was there. The food, besides the Mac salad, is mediocre. Fish Fry seems as though it's a lower grade of fish. Burger (ordered medium) was a hockey puck. But the Mac salad...!!

Great place for a quick lunch, beers with your friends or a Friday fish fry.

What a truly nice place! The owner waited on us. He was awesome. We had chicken and biscuits, which were very good. Reasonably priced. I will go back for sure!

Best tavern in Rochester. Everyone is extremely friendly and hard working. Katie behind the bar is the absolute BEST. This is my husband's and I favorite place to "date night". The food is spectacular in a whole other level!! If you're looking for a great fish fry, you must try Stones fish fry! Come to Stones country side, pay Katie and the staff a visit. And enjoy!

I ordered fish fries to go.The fish was room temperature.The Cole slaw and tartar sauce was hotter than the fish from being left in the to go container with the food that was supposed to be hot.I ordered mashed potatoes and got a baked potato that looked like it was smashed with a fork skin and all.I called to inquire what happened and was told that this is a normal practice and then was hung up on.

My husband and I were there this past Friday evening and it was beyond perfect. The food was delicious. I had not been to Stone's Countryside Tavern in years and it was just as amazing as it was years ago. The staff is so warm,inviting and friendly we definitely will be back!

First time we were there since the rebuild happened. We really liked everything, definitely will be back soon.

Best fish fry anywhere. Crunchy, never soggy, always consistent. Service is excellent, friendly and fast. Family owned and all work there, all very friendly. Fish fry is Thurs thru Sunday, they sell out sometimes before Sunday.

The restaurant was so busy, which made me think the food would be good. Also the reviews are great, but the food is not, at least the fish fry and fries. Our macaroni salad and cole slaw were good though. The fish was just bad, I threw mine away.

I had Broiled lemon pepper fish with Broccoli and a salad with Balsamic dressing. Everything was done to perfection, this was my first time visiting Stones Countryside Tavern. The bar area and seating areas were perfectly clean. The Wait Staff and Bar tenders were friendly and happy. I couldn't ask for anything else. Love it, and I plan to come back soon.

Extremely busy. Hubby and I had the broiled fish which was delicious. The broccoli was a little overcooked. Hubby got coffee - which was good but never got a refill...never got approached to see if he needed a refill. Portion sizes were good, price was reasonable, and the staff was friendly.

Got a fish fry tonight that sadly wasn’t great. I don’t like to be especially mean to restaurants because I know they try their best but this fish fry was fishy, bland and just not good. All 3 of my family members felt sick to their stomachs after eating within 20.. praying we don’t get food poisoning. The breading was bland and dry, the fish was cooked well but seemed unusually fishy and just not a good fish fry taste. The fries were soggy or either burnt to the crisp. Only reason why I gave 2 stars is because the coleslaw and bread side were tolerable.

Curbside pick up due to Covid. Less than 2 minute wait time. The fish was HUGE and very fishy. So so good!!!! Coleslaw was excellent too and the fries were crispy. Highly recommend. Edited Feb 2023, first time going since re opening after the fire. Looks beautiful inside and their food was amazing

Love this restaurant! Family run business with a great atmosphere. Food is delicious. Staff are very friendly and upbeat. Portions are large and service is very quick. My wife and I stopped in on our way to our granddaughter's 7th grade basketball game at Churchville Chili. Now we are making this a normal stop. We arrived at about 5:30pm and didn't have trouble getting a table. But after that it fills up fast!

I’ve been here on multiple occasions and each time, Stone’s has been great! Their staff is very friendly and their food is always so good. I usually get their Pittsburgh salad, and I highly recommend it! Probably one of the best items on their menu, it’s really a must to try at least once.

Heard a lot of great things about this place, but unfortunately it wasn't the experience I received. Good service, soup was very bland (Tomato basil)and the Ruben was a basic Ruben, nothing special. Be advised they charge for a 2nd refill on fountain drinks, Which they have every right to do, I just wish they would let you know, especially charging on soda water. For being a rural pub, not terrible, have been to many worse. 6/10

Been to Stones twice now and was pleased both times! Great service, never have had to wait on a Fri night. Fish fry is excellent and you get great amount of food for a great price. I’d much rather come here for a Friday night dinner than a fancy classy place. Great menu options, this will be a place we will continue to go.

Great food. Great service. You can't relax and talk too long after you eat because it's very busy on Friday nights. They clean tables and sit down the people waiting to eat.

I've been there twice now and it's been very good. Lots of yummy items on the menu. Both times I've gotten the steak sammy with cheese and mushrooms. Very clean atmosphere and courtesy staff. Beyond the dining area there is a small bar. It was worth the stop.

Stopped in for lunch with a friend on thursday at 1:00. The place looks great after it's remodel after a fire in 2020. It was quiet at 1:00 and the folks working were very pleasant and attentive. The lunch specials were great and the beer was ice cold. I've had my share of mediocre lunch experiences but Stone's is on my list of great spots to got to!

Was not expecting this place to so great! I am not a fish fry guy, but I'm good for one a year. We just happened to be out for dinner on a Friday night during lent so I gave it a try. Such a perfectly cooked piece of fish, not greasy or soggy, didn't taste like old oil (if you know you know.) It was great. Above that, the server was such a wonderful man, although busy he made time to joke with my kids, and was very attentive. Glad we stopped here, and will definitely be going back.

Hate to criticize my local area because I always support. But I just ate here Friday. The fish fry was "fishy tasting" and dry. Probably the worst !!! fish fry I have ever had !!! This place used to be great before they closed d/t fire. The service and the sides were good but however if the main dish is horrible not sure I will return.

Very nice, great staff and good food

I was skeptical of this joint when I was invited here to dine with some friends. I was very pleasantly surprised by the excellent service we received. They have a cocktail menu at the bar and we sampled several cocktails that were expertly made and delicious. The food was spectacular, I had the prime rib and it was definitely choice grade meat that melted in my mouth. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals. Again the service was superb. Highly recommend.

Went there for a lunch with an old friend. Met up, had a great meal, and the restaurant was quiet enough to be able to converse. Very nice. Country style motif.
