She is not only knowledgable but fun and keeps the tour moving. She brings you to some great local places to do tasting and some unique little boutiques that give the area so much charm. Truly the best food tour I have ever been on. Not only was it fun and informative, but I was so surprised by how accommodating Jacquie was for allergies. I am gluten free and was able to taste something at every location we visited.

Our daughters gave us the gift of a walking tour of the Italian Market in Philly — what a treat! Chef Jacquie, our guide, knew everyone and everything about her neighborhood, so it was an insider’s view. We’ve loved living in Philly but have never been behind the scenes at the Italian Market. So many interesting stories and delicious food. The picture shows a few of the treats we came home with from our tour of the StrEATS of Philly. But not the cannolis or truffles because we ate those too quickly. Even vegetarians like us can eat well on this tour! Thanks, Chef!

So much fun. I’ve done this tour twice now and I’d do it a third time. Jackie is so funny and weaves in history so naturally into the neighborhood and the food. Great for people who live in Philly and for out of towners.

Seeing the Italian Market through Chef Jacquie’s eyes was a wholly different experience than simply walking the neighborhood. Jacquie grew up here and explained the history of the area. She took us through the neighborhood and showed us some places we would never had seen. Heed the advice of coming hungry! Chef Jacquie was amazing in more ways than one. We loved the tour — everything from the history, to the food and drinks, to Jacquie’s knowledge (so much), to the people along the way, to all else in between. And what is really special about this experience is that in even just a short amount of time, it was so clear that Jacquie is an exceptional person and guide. Sometimes a person can make or break an experience, and wow, Jacquie made our day and our whole trip! This was the perfect afternoon, we learned a ton, and we had delicious bites. We hope we will get to come back and do this again. Would 10/10 recommend.

Italian Mkt tour was a delightful experience. Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by our firnedly tour guide. Jackie has a warm personality and is well connected to the community (recommendable!). The guide and tour was extremely good, interesting and informative.

Chef Jacquie made us feel welcome from the start! Had great selections visits on the itinerary… Small Italian shops, cheeses, olive oils & vinegars, meats, homemade guac and chips, unique of each little Italian mart. Nice history tidbits, worth the trip!

Even though I have lived in Philadelphia for about six years now, I had not had a lot of experience with food in South Philadelphia. Chef Jacquie was an amazing introduction into South Philadelphia cuisine. We got to see and taste so many different facets of food in that community and her storytelling really gave us a comprehensive history of the area. She’s well known and loved throughout the neighborhood and it was fun to see how much she is valued. I am looking forward to taking many more tours with her and enlisting friends and families to enjoy this experience with me.

I had the pleasure of sharing this experience with 4 of my closest friends who surprised me for my birthday! It was absolutely perfect! We truly had the most amazing time with Jacqui, her knowledge and experience of the area and the establishments we visited was unbelievable. I really enjoyed the history of how some of them arrived from Italy! I've lived near Philly most of my life and there were so many things I didn't know, and I've been to the Italian market many times. But most importantly, we had so much fun together! And it was a nice bonus receiving a discount on some of the retail items we chose to purchase! I truly can't wait to do it again and bring my Italian food loving family!

This is an amazing walking tour of the South Philly Italian Market. Chef Jacquie is knowledgeable about the neighborhood, the people, the history, and the food. She is also entertaining! As I embarked on the Italian Food Street Tour in Philadelphia, I was bracing myself for the biting cold of a winter day. However, what unfolded was an experience that left me with a heart as warm as the delicious food we savored. Led by the ever-charming and knowledgeable Jacquie, our small group of strangers quickly turned into a circle of food-loving friends.

We thoroughly enjoyed our Gastro pub tour of East Passyunk with Jacquie! She’s extremely knowledgeable about the area, and she personalized the tour just for us. If you want to walk, explore and fall in love with the historic Italian Market streets with a lovely, impassioned and intelligent tour guide who grew up as a first generation Italian immigrant in this area, then this is the tour for you. Chef Jacquie curates this tour with so much care and respect for the neighborhood of her childhood and also with admiration for how it's grown and welcomed more multicultural influence, including an authentic, inviting and women owned Mexican eatery and a Jewish style deli led by a female former chef. Her knowledge of the Italian eateries and their rich histories is very evident of how she spent formative years growing up among these owners' families. Walking with her allows you to feel a part of the rich cultural neighborhood, as she says hello to friends in the street and across the shops and eateries. Our group of 8, including 4 children, greatly enjoyed her tour and stories. We plan to book another tour when we're back in Philly!

We absolutely love this fois tour of the Italian Market. Our guide Chef Jacquie was informative, entertaining and full of South Philly trivia. There is nothing like a food tour lead by a local. She took us to bakeries, cheese shops, a deli, pizza places and a great little restaurant (Paesanos). We aere able to taste delicious treats at every stop. I was able to do a bit of shopping. This neighborhood was charmingly, eclectic, nostalgic. I highly recommend this food tour in Philadelphia.

This was a perfect event for a corporate outing! I had 20-25 people from my business attend and Jacquie was amazing. She coordinated with all the restaurants our timing change, made sure we had exactly what we needed at each location, was so knowledgeable in the area, and took us to an adorable local shop too. There was a few minute wait in us getting seated at the last stop, to NO fault of her own, and Jacquie could not have been more accommodating and kind about it. My entire group had so much fun and left incredibly full. All they could talk about the next day was how much they loved the dinner tour! I will be doing another tour with Jacquie for sure, both for corporate events but also just with my friends!

Fantastic and fun food tour of the Italian Market. I grew up in Philly and I took the tour twice when friends and family visited. Both times were great, and I learned so much about food and Philly! Jackie knows everybody in the Italian Market and is very knowledgeable and super fun! Highly recommend!

What a great afternoon activity with Jacquie of the Chef led Italian Market tour. She was so knowledgeable about the area, people, businesses, and foods. I felt we had been friends hanging out for years talking about each detail of the area, and I have never been anywhere near any of these streets before. We started at the local cheese and meat shop just up the block, where we had a few tasty treat. Personally, I could have spent the rest of the afternoon tasting the cheese and meats, but off we went to our next stop of balsamic and oil tastings. Off to an expresso spot and then to learn more about the neighborhood shops and stands. We took a short walk over to see some wonderful side streets where we were brought over for dessert and then a local favorite spot for some Grandma's pizza. Each spot we made it to was filled with life, and you can see in Jacquie's smile how she loved sharing the community with others. Next time we make it back to the area, we will look up to see what other tours she offers. Easy short walks and not hard for any age.
