My wife and I stopped here on 9/7/24 to have the brisket platter which comes with 2 sides and a drink. First of all we stood at the serving counter for several minutes while the meat sever was having a casual conversation with another sever and acted like he never saw us. Now the food. We both got the 6 oz. brisket. I had mac and cheese and baked beans which were both good but luke warm. Now the brisket. It was so fatty that maybe I might have gotten 2 oz. of meat out of 6 oz. and the rest was fat. My wife said same about her brisket. For her sides she had cold cold corn bread and luke warm mac and cheese. We have been to 2 other locations and never experienced this. Beware.

The service was great, they kept the line moving. The food was good and hot. The cornbread was way too sweet for me, it was more like cake than cornbread. All around good experience, will be back👍

Driest brisket I’ve had in a while. Probably ever.

After trying many other BBQ places around the metro, Sugarfire as a franchise is... okay! This was the first BBQ place I went to before moving to Missouri back in 2019. Fast forward to 2024 and I will say now that it's *good*, but definitely I've had better! The ribs were a little dry and salty and definitely needed the BBQ sauce on the table to save the moisture. I most certainly enjoyed the T-Ravs and the Fried Green Tomatoes. Very refreshing and crunchy especially paired with the lemon aioli and marinara sauce. Coleslaw, great. Potato Salad, heavy on the mustardy side, sorta like Dierbergs Potato Salad. If you do like it like that, definitely recommend! Overall, it was okay.

We ordered pick uo online and we couldn't even order what we wanted. When we sat down to eat everything tasted really good but it was super dry. No where near as good as they used to be. Makes me sad 😭

We picked up, but the brisket is fantastic. Coffee BBQ sauce and horseradish sauce are my favorite

Very helpful and friendly staff! The brisket, pulled pork, wings, hashbrown casserole, and cornbread was delicious! The sides were off a bit. Coleslaw had barely anything except cabbage in it. Mac and cheese was overcooked. But we went for the barbecue and that amazing!

Bad food all around. The Pulled pork was 3/4's fat. I had to show and ask for a replacement, but even then it was all burnt and everything was cold. The hashbrown casserole was all yellow cheese, mushy & cold. The same with the Mac & cheese. Service was mediocre. Only good thing was the sweet tea.

Food continues to be mediocre at this location. Hush puppies over fried. Turkey cut too thick and dry. The side portion reduction is annoyingly noticed and the price is the same, why? The broccoli salad needs more substance, broccoli needs to be shaved, more flavorful dressing with cherry tomatoes and less purple onion.

0/10 the Ribs are so cold and you have to try to even pull the bones out. The Mac & Cheese is a greenish orange and is also sub zero temperatures and due to it being so cold the cheese was never even melted. The Potato salad is straight mustard and its also -50 degrees. The Brisket I was served a patty of straight fat no meat just fat. The turkey is good. The Sausage link is also decent but they give you nothing and it looks more like a hot dog then a sausage. Its also impossible to use a fork on it without stabbing yourself. If you go here only get the sweet tea the Lemonade is sugar water no lemon at all. The Rootbeer tastes like Pepsi for some reason and not a pleasant Pepsi I'm talking about the kind that's been sitting in your car for 3 months kind of Pepsi. 0/10 Never trying again.

Do not go here unless you want to see 6 khan monkeys trying to fight ferryman its not a good sight to see im telling you they got on their Kyrswinter builds and started using their ice mantras all over the mac & cheese if you are a Felinor femboy DO NOT GO HERE THEY WILL WHIP YOU WITH EQUALIZER AND MAKE YOU PICK THE WHEAT I REPEAT IF YOU ARE A FELINOR DO NOT GO HERE. I got ganked by them at crypt of unbroken when they all on assassination builds.

Excellent BBQ! Got brisket and burnt ends. Mixed Veggies for sides on the Sunday Menu and baked beans and delicious Mac N Cheese! Highly recommend.

The Mac n cheese was tangy and I would not recommend. The homemade fries were even worse in taste. The fries were just greasy and flavorless. I also had to go and ask them about the fries they were supposed to bring out to me but never did. The ribs were good but nothing special.

Busy spot but wonderful barbecue!

First time going they didn't offer NO sauce. Got to the house after picking up just turkey and brisket in the bag. No complimentary sides, no seasoning on the meat. They place looks great.

I had tried their ribs before and they were really good. I tried the smoked wings and macaroni and cheese this time and they were horrible! The wings were very dry and had no flavor. You could hardly chew them. The macaroni had a bitter taste to it. I would only get the ribs if I ever ate there again. I heard that the potato salad isn’t good either from people that had ordered that as a side. Very disappointed!

A twenty dollar sandwich with more fat than meat

I am not from around here. I was raised in the greater Nashville TN area. I absolutely get so discouraged when a restaurant has “fried green tomatoes” and when I ask- Are they Real? No one understands. REAL FGT has cornmeal batter. NOT flour!! Sugar Fire has nailed it!! Delicious, cooked perfect and done correctly!!! Oh and the Carolina Sauce? To.Die.For. Delicious ❤️❤️🤗🤗 yes yes the Brisket was on par and amazing, but OMG the FGT and Carolina Sauce had my attention!!

the entire place is Meh, dude was cool though. Food is mid at best. Edit: Turning off mobile orders on a holiday results in needing $100 just to eat here since they have 0 warning that they turned off online ordering. The lady at the location dismissively said because its a holiday with 0 people in line. While I had to wait 10 minutes for my order which could have simply been picked up. Last time I go here. Shame because its literally the closest thing to me.

Ordered 1/2 slab of ribs with 2 sides along with 4 oz of smoked Turkey. The Broccoli salad was very good. The Cajun Turkey Pasta salad was a little plain. The Ribs were very meaty and tender, but a little dry. The Turkey was very moist and delicious. They have 6 different sauces. St.Louis Sweet, Honey Badger, Texas Hot, Carolina Mustard, White Bbq, and Coffee Bbq. All were good.

I've had catering from here multiple times, but never visited the location. I was a bit confused at first, but after figuring out the menu the food was great. My only complaint was I couldn't get it faster, but hey, what can you do when they get busy.

Brisket was over half fat! Cost was very high. Coleslaw had no flavor and green beans were under cooked and cold! Wont be going back to this lovation!

Cheesy Party Potatoes and Brisket Cheesesteak were a great quick dinner. My daughter almost polished off a pound of brisket.

I loved this place! My husband and I were only in town for a day and decided to try them out. The Brisket fried rice was the best fried rice I've ever had. My husband tried salmon, brisket and pulled pork and loved all 3. The sizes were very filling so we had plenty of leftovers. The lemonade came out of the drink machine but tasted like it was freshly made. The sugarfire pie was Amazing!!! I would recommend it once a year because it's so good you would want to have more than one. I was good though I only had one. Will visit again...Great spot!❤️❤️ OH and they have fried green tomatoes they were delicious 😋

Best dang, Ribs I have ever tasted, and I know BBQ! Kansas BBQ, Carolina BBQ, Memphis BBQ, and my personal favorite Texas BBQ... AND THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. Manager was stingy with the recipe LOL 😆

This location lacks customer service skills and politeness. Very RUDE lady working in this location. Been to the other two locations in the area as well and they are very welcoming.

I ordered the pulled pork nachos but I didn't want pork. I told them I'm from Texas & we put beef brisket in everything. I asked if they could make me brisket nachos?? They made my brisket nachos for an additional $2.00 and they were worth it. Be sure to share it's a huge portion.

My first time visiting this restaurant and I can say yes the food is good however it is very difficult to eat the food at a place where the person whom you have to place the order with lacks customer service skills such as the ability to communicate properly with a customer from a different race. She definitely made sure I knew minorities are not really unwelcome. Sugarfire you never have to worry about me ever coming back as a customer to visit.

The first time I went here the brisket was great. The second time, the older gentleman told me they would have my brisket ready in a moment and for me to go pay. At the olive location I normally wait and see them cut my meat. I now know why he didn’t want me to see what they gave me. The slices were not consistent and one third of my meat is pure fat. 4/5/24 My husband went today. My brisket is 80% fat of the 1/2 lb I bought. I will go to heavy smoke for now on.

Really disappointed that the beans aren’t gluten free. The side turkey blt salad was awesome. The sauces aren’t nearly as good in the plastic packets- the white sauce has a too- strong horseradish taste

Food is fine. However prices are way too high. We had macaroni and cheese and also hash brown casserole with turkey and brisket. 75.99 ??? A bit steep for the amount of food.

Always incredible food. Service diminished recently. Ran out of ribs at 5:45pm last Saturday. Took away the self serve sauce bar and instead overstock to-go orders with pre-sealed bags...of which most we gove back and/or have been tossing into trash. Young staff tries hard but somewhat slow and robotic. Don't seem well trained. We will still be back, but it used to be a lot better. P.S. Prices have gone too high also, so we buy less.

This is our go-to BBQ joint near home. Wife likes the pulled pork, I am partial to the smoked turkey. The Honey Badger sauce is their secret weapon! We get their turkey every holiday season instead of dealing with our own bird. Highly recommend!

My family visits this location often, and they never disappoint. But this year we decided to order Thanksgiving smoked turkey and brisket to cut down on the cooking for the holiday. It was the best turkey we have ever had. We are so grateful for the staff for opening their doors to feed us on a holiday. We love Sugarfire. Oh and the pies sealed the deal for desert. Best BBQ in the STL!

Fantastic everytime. We have ordered thanksgiving meal from sugarfire the past 2 years.

It was nothing special. Had the 2 meat combo of brisket and ribs. The 2 paper thin cuts of brisket were mostly fat and the ribs were dry and tough. Texas hot sauce was really good as was the the white BBQ sauce

I funks with them. Love the ladies here, 5 star customer service. The men don't say much it do a great job. Love the menu and the grub. They deliver under the right circumstances but go in, daily specials change

Yeah I dunno if it was worth it, what there was in waiting just for an order of fries and a sandwich for the lack-there-of in consumers, in comparison to the amount of staff that was there(it was a little too much for too long). My food was meh, okay ish and the fries were extremely greasy. I say this I didn't order the fires I just took it upon myself to snag a few while someone else couldn't figure out which wrong exit to take ...twice to leave the plaza thingy. They may just look over staffed too- very well could be just by appearance I had to add this because you never see the work you don't see that is needed to be done that gets done, to serve impatient people.

I'd stop by this place every time I'm in St Louis. Love it! The only thing that I don't like is that they ask for a tip upfront at the place where you have to stand in line, pick up your food YOURSELF, find YOURSELF a table and when you done eating, you YOURSELF take your food tray to the trash in and dispose utensils and what's left. Tip for what then?🙄

Not gonna lie, I don’t get excited for BBQ. Yup, it was awesome. Got the chicken in biscuit with Mac and cheese. Buffalo sauce was spicy sweet delicious, Mac and cheese was good, and nothing but sauce was left in my tray. Will be back.

I placed an order to go. Two chef salads - one to be as it is listed on the menu and one without turkey or onions. I received one chef salad and one Caesar salad! They were bagged so didn't notice until arrived at home.

Worked here for a couple years and In my own opinion you should strongly consider avoiding this place i wont go into detail as they would come after me for defamation i am sure but in my own opinion you'd be SAFER and much much happier going to dukes or even pappys or buying your own smoker, seriously.

The food was delicious, I had the brisket and it was very good with the sauce. The hush puppies were tasty. Staff was super friendly too. There aren't a lot of tables inside and they are all 6 person tables so, being by myself, I just took my food to go.

I visited MO for a work trip, and of all the eateries my colleague recommended, this was certainly my favorite. The Carolina Pulled Pork Sandwich was delicious, I highly recommend it! Their fries were very good as well. The staff members were very friendly, and it took no time at all to get our food. They have a huge selection of sauces. They get bonus points from me, being from NC, for having the only sweet tea I found during my trip! Edit; spelling fixes

Excellent BBQ! Large portions and served to us on neat metal trays. Plenty of delicious sauces to choose from. This place has both outdoor and indoor seating. Also, we were very surprised and excited to see they served Ski! We would definitely recommend.

Came here for a nice brisket. I ordered a brisket sandwich, fries and a strawberry shake. The meat was very tasty. But it came out of a small container and they reheated right before. I did not expect that, but I don't know if this common. Still, it was delicious.

With barbecue, you get what you pay for, you have to accept the price with the quality you receive. Sugarfire is the easy go to for barbecue in the area.

At least once a year we visit Sugarfire for meat for a family BBQ fest (in addition to individual lunches, dinners, etc). This year everyone was craving ribs so we ordered a couple of slabs along with smoked turkey. I was a little worried as a few recent reviews indicated the ribs were not as good as they used to be. We were delighted to find the ribs were even better than we remembered! Tender and flavorful, they practically melted off the bone, and had very little fat. So tasty, no sauce was even required! The turkey was also delicious, tender and juicy, but I’m afraid the ribs totally stole the show! Everyone raved about them. We also found the staff at the checkout to be very friendly, patient and helpful, and our order was ready to go as requested. Thanks to Sugarfire for providing the foundation to a fabulous family lunch! We can’t wait to come back!

We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon while driving thru on the interstate returning to Alabama from KC, somewhat easy access - little back tracking but not too hard to get to. We wanted to have one last spurge on some BBQ before going home. Will say, the service was fair - employees seemed a bit distracted and in to their own world. Asked a couple of questions and got the shoulder shrug - but that’s ok cuz the food was good and the drinks cool. We ordered the Chef Salad with brisket, turkey and hard boiled egg, tomato, cucumber - which was spot on and tasty. Fresh ingredients and the salad dressing was exceptional. On the other hand, the Brisket Sandwich with dipping sauce with House Fries and Baked Beans was a bit tough. Lots of flavor, but the meat was a bit on the chewy side. Drowned the brisket in the hot and spicy BBQ sauce rather than the Au Jus sauce and it turned out much better - so all ended well and I cleaned the plate. Overall, we’d recommend Sugarfire Smoke House. We’ve visited the other STL location and always had a great experience. My assumption is the folks were getting ready for a busy Saturday evening and in the ‘prep’ mode.

BEST SLICED BRISKET we've ever had!! Been here numerous times & it's ALWAYS perfect/consistent!! Fries r fresh cut & hot. Several delicious sides to choose from. Hubby loves the salmon & turkey too!!

Worst brisket I’ve ever had. Half of the sandwich was pure fat. This was a $16 meal at the food truck and extremely disappointed.. it will be a while before I eat here again.

We live near Kansas City and have been wanting to try Sugarfire. It did not disappoint. I had the Big Muddy, broccoli salad, and Hush puppies. My wife had the turkey sandwich. All of it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the casual atmosphere was great.

First and last time I will eat here. The meat was cold and so was the staff. This place is a disgrace to actual BBQ restaurants!!

I want to preface this review by saying I know for a fact this is a one off experience because I come here at least once a month for our in home movie date night. This is our dinner for the evening. The food is ALWAYS good……except today. I got a half lb of brisket and a half rack of ribs. The brisket was exceptional like always but the ribs…..the particular rack I got was 70% fat and not edible. My doggy loved it though lol. Not sure if you purchased ribs from a different vendor or not but they weren’t close to ribs I’ve had before. That’s not to say I won’t be back I know how it is it was just disappointing this time around. As always though the staff is SUPER nice so there is no complaints for anything other than the ribs. I’ll still be back just letting y’all know

Arrived at 8PM, an hour before closing. The staff was already starting to close. Service was slow and confused. Food was mediocre. I imagine it's a lot better at an earlier time. Might want to close at 8 if you're not going to really try.

I didn't like any of their designer BBQ's, which ruined my meat. The French fries were awful. The hash brown casserole was mush. Terrible!! Never again!

Food is outstanding but the hours of operation are not as advertised. I have been to this location 6 times in the past couple of months only to be turned away an hour or more early because they sold out of food. Seems to be a trend lately, so I’d suggest calling before showing up.
