The shrimp tempura was very disappointing. The shrimp meat was loose and lacked the firm, fresh texture you would expect. It had a mushy consistency with a slightly powdery taste, which made it clear that the shrimp was not fresh. This really affected the overall quality of the dish. They even didn’t refund the dish, instead, they charged HALF of the price when the dish is nearly untouched.

The shrimp tempura is NOT fresh!!! The response from chef and the service was INSULTING!

Some of the best Japanese food I’ve ever had. I have yet to be disappointed by this location, and their staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend the Katsudon and their Sushi! Also the miso soup is delicious too!

This is a great, authentic Japanese restaurant with very friendly wait staff and a great selection of options at an affordable price. Highly recommend! Get there right around when they open or be expected to wait 15-30 minutes though, as there's only a few tables inside.

Was visiting with my girlfriend from St Pete and wanted some last minute sushi, but nothing too expensive. To note, were kind of sushi snobs and have eaten at many world renowned, Michelin starred sushi restaurants. We shared the boat for two and the conch sunimono. The conch was super fresh and sweet. The boat came with some nice sashimi such as branzino, fatty tuna, salmon roe, etc. While the fatty tuna was just ok, the tuna was amazing. The conch, shrimp, branzino, and salmon were very fresh. We also ordered the Australian uni was very fresh, cold, and sweet. It was also very loaded up with uni, which is never the case. Tried to get the Hokkaido uni and the gentleman before me cleaned them out already. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. There was no charge for hot green tea and it was legit with matcha. The salad and miso soup were also on point. Overall a great dinner and I'd def be back for more.

Great food great staff. I’m never disappointed by the food here. The sushi is always fresh and the cooked dishes are flavorful. The lunch specials are reasonably priced. They do get busy during lunch and diner times so try to go early around those times.

This Japanese diner had a line in front of the door before dinner hours, and that gave me a good impression and high expectations going in. Service is fast and polite. Quality of food is excellent. Atmosphere is very homey. I got the katsudon, some nigiri, a simple sushi roll, and hot sake. While the prices may seem a bit high, it was well worth it. I walked away feeling very satisfied.

Sushi Tomi is the best Japanese restaurant I know in the US, they import their rice from Japan, doesn’t matter what you pick form the menu everything is delicious, their service is excellent and the attention to detail is above and beyond my favorite place to eat when Im in Orlando

Updating review, came back recently during our Disney trip. Overall great food, this place is more kids friendly compare to other "authentic" Japanese places in the area. We end up getting many of their nigir selection this time. smoke salmon, sweet shrimp, crab, yellow tail, Japanese scallops were very tasty. However, their Conch and Octopus pieces are little on the firm/hard side, and salmon roe little too salty. Overall great experience would come back again next time in the area.

Best nigiri and Sashimi Sushi in Orlando. Just to preface.I recently moved to Orlando from Charlotte NC about a year ago. Until I've dine in Sushi Tomi, I genuinely believed that Orlando's affordable sushi scene was underwhelming and mainly focused on overpriced Sushi rolls with too much rice and not enough ingredients. Also I thought that quality Sushi was only reserved for people who are willing to pay top dollar. But after I dined at Sushi tomi yesterday I'm glad I was proven wrong. I had the Sushi boat for two, chicken katsu, katsudon, and some freshwater eel and uni. Every bite was amazing and made me remember what great nigiri and sashimi was supposed to taste like. All of it is fresh and traditionally made. I will be coming back anytime I have a japanese food craving and look forward to trying everything on the menu.

This is a gem. REAL Japanese food made by Japanese. I lived in Japan most my life, and this place tasted like home to me. They do have those california rolls and American items, but it is far outweighed by authentic Japanese cuisine. This is the kind of stuff you find in a mom n pops shop in the countryside of Japan. This is the food mom used to make. Try it out. The sushi was great. I especially liked the salmon, tuna, and white fish. The katsudon was pretty good too. It is comparable to the sushi in the Kanazawa fish market. The seabass tasted a bit weird, and I love sea bass sashimi, but other than that, it was fantastic. Unbeatable prices. What Japanese food should cost tbh. Don't get ripped off at one of those chain Japanese places that are serving everything but Japanese food. They charge $40+ per person and the food is sus. You can walk in and out for under $15 here. This place deserves way more popularity. Super underrated.

Started with the grilled squid and veggie tempura. My wife was surprised the squid was so good. Daughter loved the cucumber rolls while my son ate a mountain of masago and tobiko "sashimi" served on cucumber boats. I got to try American uni and Hokkaido uni side by side. The Japanese urchin was rich and decadent. All the fish was great including local fresh catches. Our waitress was so happy and positive. Thank you for a great birthday meal!

My husband and I have visited this place like 7 times now. We love the service and how the staff will go beyond to make sure that everything is great. They are so humble and friendly. They always make our evening better and they make us feel like family. The food is great too, we have tried different sushi rolls, ramen, rice, chicken and even the ice cream! Everything was perfect and the prices are very affordable.

We ordered food to go and we chose this place based on the reviews. The food was terrible for the price. The pork in the ramens we ordered were thin and only came with two. The broth wasn't flavorful. We ordered extra eggs and it's basically just half an egg. The sushi was also average. I would recommend you save your money and order elsewhere.

This is a hole in the wall sushi and Japanese food restaurant that appears to be family owned by a Japanese family and mostly Japanese clientele. The food is quite authentic to my trips to Japan and the staff were great. This is a great place if you are looking for truly authentic and high quality Japanese cuisine.

I came to Orlando for Disney World. The ingredients were fresh and the seasoning was not too strong, giving it a Japanese taste. Especially the squid was delicious! The store was clean, the staff was polite and friendly, and I felt very comfortable. It was a good idea to make a reservation because it seemed to be crowded with a lot of locals.

Very authentic Japanese dishes prepared by Japanese! It was a pleasant surprise to find this restaurant where we could taste the fresh and selected cuts of sashimi (omakase), sushi with tasty nori (no cream cheese) and high quality Nanatsuboshi rice (from Hokkaido). We came back a second time and savored a Sab shoyaki (Mackerel) and a Chicken katsu curry. Just perfect! And for dessert, raisin mochi with kinako. A must have.

The tuna tataki was amazing to start and my favorite was the samurai roll. The service was warm and friendly, is definitely on my top for a delicious family meal!

A really great, tucked away sushi place! Service was very attentive and kind. It's a smaller, quaint environment, but with dividers between tables so it still feels private. We had the Choya plum wine, which is beautifully thick and rich (kind of like a Vermouth), and the Tuna Tataki which was a great appetizer. We also had 3 rolls - the JR Roll, Samurai Roll, and Ulti-Spicy Tuna Roll. All were awesome. A bit on the pricier side, but well worth it given the quality of ingredients.

The food was great, however the service was not good... FOOD: They have many different varieties of Japanese food other than the typical "sushi or teriyaki" at other Japanese restaurants. The only complaint I have with the food - and it's a pretty picky complaint - is that there are not as many sushi options compared to other Japanese restaurants, but the sushi I had was delicious. SERVICE: While the employees were nice, the service itself was not the best: At first, our server got us our drinks quickly and answered all of our questions, but then just disappeared. We waited ~20 minutes for our server to come back and ended up asking another server to put in our order. Then, a family of four came in and wanted to sit at the sushi bar - the same place we were sitting at. For context, the sushi bar has two sides for people to sit at, and the other side from where we were sitting was entirely empty. However, our new server was persisting we move over for the family even though the other side of the sushi bar was entirely empty. And the icing on the cake was the family ended up leaving without ordering anything.

We are looking for some good Japanese food in Orlando and found this little restaurant based on google reviews. The location is close to Universal Studios as compared to other attractions. We are from Hawaii so very spoiled on the price and quality of good Japanese food there. The good here is above average based on Orlando standards though. The tonkasut probably has a bit more sauce than it should. The sushi rice has a lack of rice vinegar and the rice quality could be improved. The fish is of standard quality, not having fresh food available in Orlando is common issue here. Tempera is great. Service is very fast, food came out of kitchen quickly which we really appreciate and workers are efficient. We would come back again.

Always good to come to sushi tomi very yom yom in my tom tom. I usually get the oyakodon and it hits everytime. Prices are quite decent for most dishes but sushi can be pricey. Great atmosphere and I always feel welcome here.

Amazing sushi from a Japanese family owned small restaurant. None of that chain restos, this is the real deal. Had tempura udon noodle soup and ordered the $75 boat. Took me back to my time in Japan. They had the chu-toro/o-toro which was some of the best sashimi I’ve ever had. Highly recommend if you’re around this area, at Rosen Creek resort or just looking for authentic Japanese sushi/sashimi place.

Quick & efficient service. I got the spicy tuna don, which was delicious but ended up being too spicy for me. My friend got a curry dish and said it was one of the better curries he has had in his life. Their chicken karaage was also pretty good. Older Japanese adults patronize this place, so perhaps the food is legit.

This is of my favorite restaurants in town. My husband and I love coming at opening time on Friday nights to start off the weekend. The staff are so friendly and the food is absolutely exceptional. Would definitely get it again. My friend got Chicken katsu curry, it's as it sounds but the Curry is super smooth, not spicy but lots of flavor and depth to it. The katsu is prepared very well and the breading does not fall off like I've seen in the past. When combined it is something so good. I finished the tempura banana and matcha ice cream.
