Our compulsory stop when we visit Santa Cruz. The best cobbler and strawberries. Great spot to stop before or after beach day

Cold soup for $9... But that's not the worst part, I was just eating one of the berry pies and something sharp got stuck in my throat, luckily I managed to cough it up.. it cut the back of my tnroat...approximately an inch and bit long piece of branch with thorns on it. Never going there again

Absolute scam. Followed signs to the U-Pick lot, which was unmanned, and saw a sign stating to grab a box from the trailer and the box was $16 and pay at the farm stand. Went to pay for said box at farm stand, only to be told it's $75. Apparently they were $8 a lb, but no where was that listed on any sign. I told the worker the sign said a box was $16, to which she replied with eye roll and attitude, that was cost of the box. It was a flimsy piece of cardboard btw. She then tries to guilt me to buy the strawberries, saying she'll have to throw them away. They sell the strawberries in the damn store, so no she wasn't throwing them away. She just got free labor for some upcharged berries.

We don't pass by on Hwy 1 often, but we stop when we do! Great berries! Today's were seriously the best strawberries I've ever eaten.

Went there with the family last week on a weekday. Even though we weren't allowed to pick strawberries, they still let us walk around the farm area. Got a box or strawberries, a shortcake and cheese cake. All were very good. Love the shortcake the best.

Fresh strawberries are AMAZING! The pie though, is pretty bad and really expensive, spend your money on more fresh berries! Great place overall though!

Best find driving down highway 1! The strawberries were perfection. Also had wonderful baked goods and desserts. The coffee was delicious. So good we made sure to stop again.

I love stopping at this place between Santa Cruz and San Francisco. The hot apple cider is my favorite. Fresh chocolate truffles made with strawberries and berries, yum!

Thoroughly enjoyed these strawberries! Ate a pint by myself. So fresh! The shop is really fun shop with a funky vibe. Feels like visiting an old friend place. Lots of goodies to try. My son's favorite is the marionberry cobbler. Hefty servings available for self serve in display coolers. I totally enjoyed eating strawberries by the ocean!

Great strawberry farm! With a store with jam, deserts, and merchandise available and if you follow the dirt track begins the strawberry picking experience. Adorable area with a choice of picking them by a carton or bag and payment is on the basis of how many pounds of strawberries you pick! Loved the experience beautiful farm.

We loved our strawberry picking experience. I’m glad we had windbreakers on since it was a very windy on the day we visited. The lot for picking was about 5 mins walk from the store or you can drive down next to the area. At the store, cobblers, pies, jams, coffee and soup were also available for purchase.

Strawberry short cake is worth it!!!

Their strawberries were the best I’ve ever had. They are an organic farm and I think that had something if not everything to do with why their strawberries were sooooo dang amazing. We stopped by on the week of July 4th while passing through. We’ve had strawberries from many of the large farms that grow the huge and genetically modified strawberries that are so popular in this day and age and none of them come close to having the flavor and deep red coloring of Swantons natural strawberries. Reminds me of when I was a kid and you could often find organic or close to organic small farm raised fruits almost everywhere, I miss those days.

A nice stop for a snack with a nice view. Strawberries, jam, apple strawberry cider, strawberry shortcake and even a vegan soup are some of the items available for purchase.

Beautiful Strawberry Farm. Some Strawberries are sweet and some are not. But nice place to pick the fruit with kids. The farm is organic and we were informed that they spray no chemicals.

We picked some strawberries last evening, and they have an extremely good produce. Very fresh and probably the best strawberries I have ever tasted, perfect balance of sweet and sour.

A nice experience for those who love strawberry

What a fun experience! Came here for strawberry picking which is one of the organic places we could find near Santa Cruz area and it was a great experience for my 2 year old. We had not done a strawberry upick before so was excited to learn more about doing it. We stopped by the reception area, grabbed coffee (they have fresh strawberries here as well) and then headed to the upick area. We host a box to hold our strawberries and the farm was huge! The person giving us the box was very nice and told us what type of strawberries to look for which was a great suggestion for a first timer. There is a difference between red strawberries and the really red ones which I wouldn't have known had he not told me! He also gave us tips on how to store it so it lasts long. After we got our stuff it got weighed and we bought it back home. My son couldn't wait and started enjoying them in the car itself ! Very delicious and planning to come back for next seasons upick

This place has the best berry pie anywhere. And great coffee and cool vibe. Waaay better than the pie shop up the road. And amazing strawberries!

Amazing strawberry foods, they have jams and strawberry shortcake, strawberry truffles, strawberry cider and more! The building is so pretty with historical photos and little games to play.

Swanton Berry Farm, one of the happiest places on Earth.🍓🍓🍓🍓🍓 For years we would make our way down to Davenport to pick strawberries and hang out at Swanton's. The last few trips down have been to bring food, sit outside have a little lunch in sun, grab a few baskets of freshly picked strawberries, DEEELICIOUS strawberry or marionberry shortcake (never a shortage, fridge is always fully stocked), a jar or two of jam, listen to great tunes and play a few games. Hot cider and coffee always waiting, there might be soup with toppings, and THE warmest staff. Pies, cookies, cheesecake, tshirts, tote bags, oh my.🌞🌞🥰🥰🙌🏼 Rain or shine, always a wonderful adventure at Swanton Berry! 🙏🏼

As a regular customer at Swanton Berry Farm, I can confidently say that it is one of the best places to visit with your furry friend. The cozy and welcoming atmosphere, along with the delicious pies, make for a wonderful experience every time. I appreciate that this place is dog-friendly, and I can enjoy a slice of pie while spending quality time with my pet. The sweet and savory pies are always exceptional, with flaky and buttery crusts and flavorful fillings. The use of fresh and locally sourced ingredients is evident in the quality and taste of the pies. The staff is always friendly and accommodating, and they make me and my dog feel like a part of their family.

Great Tasting Strawberry Cheesecake!!

Such a cool place. Loved the strawberry rhubarb jam, as well as the Marion berry pie...the Blackberry Truffle was to die for!! The vegetarian chili was delicious as well. Can't wait to come back.

Wow! This place is beautiful. I got here right before close and because of the recent rain we couldn't pick strawberries but oh boy, the cookies alone are a reason to come or the cheese cake or pretty much whatever else is sold there. My friends and I bought almost one of every sweet left at the end of the day. The staff is super friendly and there's such a family feel. You can tell lots of love and effort has been put into everything. 💯 Worth the drive.

This is my favorite place to stop by along the 1, for a serene moment playing games and eating some of the most delicious fruit based goods I ever tasted.

A must see! This darling strawberry field is located off of Highway 1in Davenport. It is all self service and the honor system. There is someone around if you need help using the POS. Inside it is warm, cozy, and inviting! Games for kids and such interesting decor. There are a few gluten free options- chocolate covered strawberries, strawberry lemonade and strawberry apple cider. Lots of swag like hats and t-shirts as well! Can’t wait to come back here and pick strawberries during the summer! Look for the yellow truck out front! No cash accepted. Cash tips highly recommend! Two port-a-potty’s are onsite and clean.

Such a chill spot to pull over and grab a quick snack. The Strawberry shortcake 🍰 is my kids favorite.

One of my absolute favorite spots in the Bay Area for Michelin star quality pies and baked treats. If I could rate it higher I would!!! When traveling up PCH, this is a must visit location.

Their strawberries are the best strawberries in the area! Better than anything you can get at the store or the market. Plus their strawberry shortcake is incredible.

Strawberries were $7/lb in July of 2022. And you can taste the salt because they're so close to the ocean.

A must stop if you’re passing by. We missed the window for berry picking but visited the honor system store. Picking up some delicious strawberry jam is a must. Enjoyed the information on the walls. Tried the pie and was very impressed. Shocked by the thick crust but it was perfect for those that love crust and you can pickup your slice and eat it with your hands. Yummy!

Absolutely love what this place is about, re: supporting their workers. I'm always happy as hell to spend money here. Been going here for years. I've gone several times alone, and its a great and healthy way to ease your mind. I've taken many friends here, and seen them take their friends. Great bonding experience for all.

It was really nice that this farm have the options of buying strawberries or you can go pick up strawberries out on the field. $8/lb so not that bad when you get the full experience of picking. It’s a great place to bring your family to get some delicious cheesecake or cobbler as well!

U-pick is good , very tasty organic strawberries and felt strawberries price was high $8 /lb . Then restrooms cabinet not clean and not hygienic . No hand soap after using restrooms.

Delicious flavorful strawberries and have been picking here for years with the kids. It has always been a bit on the pricey side, but paying partially for the experience. Strawberries are also planted on a mound and soil is covered by plastic so it makes for a cleaner picking experience. Enjoy!

Sweet, fresh and ripe strawberries!! Great services through the website and phone, kind gentleman in the field to explain where and how to pick the best and sweetest ones. Definitely a great experience for the whole family, especially for the kiddos!

If you want to pick strawberries, you can drive south or east along major highways, or you can take the beautiful 1 down the coast to this place. My resident strawberry connoisseurs assured me they taste better than the supermarket ones they gobble down several times a week and I trust their judgment. Sure, some folks might say they are pricey, but it's worth it for the drive, the swallows flitting about, and that great ocean breeze/wind.

Stopped here to pick berries as part of our youth running club’s Memorial Day Training Weekend. It was definitely a highlight of the trip for the kids!

We have been here for many years to pick organic strawberry and they are sweet. You pick a box at the shed and then pick the strawberries. They weight them and you pay cash or credit. It’s $8 per lbs which is reasonable since it is organic and you can also pick and wash and eat them. Staff are very friendly and love this place. Highly recommended. Bring your families and friends and drive slowly.

We love this place and have been there many times. A must stop on the way home from anywhere south from there on the coast. The jam, the pie, the atmosphere inside, the staff, the view outside and the cheesecake. Lots to love here. Oh we will be back!

We went for my daughter sweet 16 and the lady that was behind the front bar was very rude. She didn't greet us when we went in. When we paid she didn't say a word. We spent easily over $100.00 and we didn't get a hi, bye, or thank you. We were with multiple families and lots of 16 year Olds and all of them had the same customer service. We love this farm and we're very disappointed to be treated this way.

We came at the end is berry season. We really wanted to the pick your own fruit but it requires advance planning and reservations. So instead we got to enjoy their indoor farm stand. There was some strawberries, jams and desserts. It's a self serve honor system as you ring up your own purchases and pay. First of all if they have strawberry shortcake, get it and don't share. It's that good. Then buy some more to take home. We enjoyed ours outside with some hot coffee. There's picnic tables outside.

This place is great, with an open area to sit and eat their organic berry products. We had a berry pie, strawberry short cake, and berry cheese cake. Also you can pick your own strawberries from the farm. It's wonderful.

A friend brought me to Swanton Berry Farm almost a twenty years ago I stop in every trip down to Santa Cruz from Napa. Great pies, cheesecake and jams. I love all the posters on Caesar Chevez I grew up in the 60's when my mother protested and boycotted for Ceasar Chevez.

Very spacious, laidback U-pick place to go to in bay area! What a way to enjoy strawberry foods! I know organic U-pick place is very rare to find! You can get jam, juice, cake, pie, whatever you can imagine with strawberry! The downside is it tastes not that sweet!

Organic strawberry farm. The strawberries are very sweet and perfect for a family strawberry picking activity. Plenty of parking space and friendly staff. You get to pick up the tray box from the farm store. Pick as many pounds you like and pay $6 per Lb. We went there the Memorial weekend.

Windy place which helps you stays cool (a big plus). Strawberries are small and pricy ($6 a pound). They taste ok, similar as store bought ones. The taste doesn’t meet the expectation of self pick strawberries.

Cute place. We came for the strawberry short cake. The cake was more like a biscuit. Strawberries were not super sweet (late April), but tasted good with the whipped cream. The honor payment system was nice. You're free to browse as much as you want and then just go right up and pay.
