Excellent little roadside diner with a big personality. 5 star food & service. They make you feel right at home. Highly recommend stopping in and give them a try. You won't be disappointed.

A hidden gem away from it all! Recommend 100%

We stopped here for a late breakfast. I love a good diner style breakfast, and this was just the thing. We got a comfortable booth. The paintings on the wall were vintage 1970 looked just like the ones in almost every home I spent time in. The server was very friendly and prompt. She was conversational and made sure we had everything we needed. I had the bacon burrito, which was full of veggies and was. not shy on the bacon. It was generously portioned, so I stopped at eating half, because I was planning to round out my brunch with a milkshake. My friend had the Denver omlette with hashbrowns. The food was solid, and piping hot. The coffee was good, not fabulous, but very solid diner coffee. The milk shake was the real deal. Real ice cream, real chocolate sauce topped with real whipped cream. I haven't had a milkshake in a while and it was quite a treat. I usually drive right by this place on my way to the Big Y. I will be back, and if the Y has too long a line I won't hesitate to take a break in Dryden.

This is a gem. Found it by accident last summer been there many times since.

Great diner! It's the only restaurant near Leavenworth that opens at a reasonable breakfast hour, the food was very good, the service was fine, everything was fine. Oh, and gorgeous paintings all over the walls.

Really good home cooked food by a family at a diner that is clean and well kept Good prices and there are kids and senior items on the menu. This was a great find and very refreshing after all the tourist food in Levenworth. Much better! Worth the 10 minute ride from town.

I know it doesn't look like much but the Take a break is Dryden's best kept secret. The food is amazing, the service is fast and friendly. It really is everything you miss about small town diners.

Good, solid diner food. All the classic egg dishes. Portions are on the larger scale, but they do have a seniors portions.

I’ve been here many times, thru many different owners, and have never been disappointed. The Reuben, chicken tenders, chicken fried steak, and all breakfast items are very tasty. This day, I was just feeling a FAT stack of pancakes with an ungodly amount of butter. And that’s what I got! Delicious. I always look for an excuse to come to take a break. Affordable, delicious, and reliable.

I can order up what I want then get in my car and go get it in 10 minutes and sometimes more often than not I go full orders of biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy... yummy

Thank you Victor! It’s been 25-30 years since I stopped here. I know the owners have changed, but SO glad we stopped. The service was great, and the food was delicious. And from another business owner, it is very much appreciated to see someone take pride in what they are doing. We will be back.

This is a great place to eat, we had breakfast and it was delicious.

We love stopping here for lunch after camping at Lake Chelan. Super clean and the people who work here always take really good care of us. Portion size very generous and overall the menu is priced low. Veggie burger was great and BLT was perfect (not too greasy, and bacon was hot). Onion rings were crispy and delicious, fries are a little salty, but my kids ate all of them. They have Italian sodas and breakfast all day - my kids were thrilled! We would have enjoyed the outside patio with our pup, but it was closed. The booths are just big enough for a family of five. *photo taken after a few bites because I always forget to take a pic when we get our food 🤣

Great roadside cafe, exactly what you’d expect with no less and no more which is perfect. Very friendly staff, fast service and great food. Blackberry milkshake, country fried steak and pancakes all great. Fun antique/junk shop next door as well to poke around in.

We got the chef salad, chicken quesadilla, Cesar salad wrap, and the kids cheeseburger. The food was pretty good and the pricing was not super bad. The country music that was playing was a little loud, but it was not excessive.

Delicious food, well kept bathrooms, and the parking lot is easy to get in and out of. Great place to stop!

Very friendly and will customize food needs. I have a spinach/mushroom omellet with sliced avacado on top...its the best! Their fruit salad is hugh...large slices of fruit.

Was packed when we got there. But the waitress was nice, the prices were actually affordable, and the food was delicious. It was a wonderful breakfast before our drive home from vacation. We got the waffle, eggs, and bacon and everything was cooked perfectly.

Heard about this place from friends in Cashmere WA. Bright, clean friendly atmosphere. Staff energetic and informative. Great food at a reasonable price. We will be back.

Excellent food, above average service. When I got there around 8am on Sunday, they only had one waitress, which seemed to stretch her a little thin, but by the time we left the manager was helping out and another waitress had arrived. I got franch toast with a side of bacon and scrambled eggs and it was all delicious. Great little place to eat. Definitely will be going back to check out their lunch and/or dinner soon!

Felt like a breakfast spinach omelette for dinner and it was one of the nicest I’ve had in a while. Simple decor and reasonable prices. Will definitely add Take A Break as a stop off when coming this way again.

If you are headed to to Leavenworth or leaving Leavenworth to Wenatchee on hwy 2 and don't want break your bank account then stop here to eat. The prices are very reasonable versus over priced Leavenworth. Just a small family restaurant in Dryden at the red light on hwy 2. Our food was plentiful, served hot and the staff was pleasant and attentive. The restrooms were clean with new fixtures. The inside dining seat about 20 and the outer patio the same. Four stars only because our coffee cups did not allear to be clean as well as the table was not wiped down. We were told to seat ourselves so maybe we picked the only dirty table in the place. The parking lot is easy in and out for medium size rigs

We were looking for a quick and affordable place to feed our family after our camping trip. This place was excellent. Fresh, tasty food, good kid options, AND they brought out the chocolate milkshake before the meal! You won’t regret making this stop.

Decent diner food. The prices are lower than other diners in the area. Everything was fresh. The veggie omelet was cooked great. The scramble was pretty dry, through. I may visit again to try the lunch menu next time.

Got dinner to go. Ordered when we got there, were served by friendly helpful staff in a timely manner. I had a chicken wrap sandwich with onion rings. It was large and lovely, rings tasty. Also got an order of Fish and chips, that came with fresh homemade slaw and tartar sauce -YUM! Everything was delicious even though we had to wait until getting home to eat it. Their menu had a lot of tasty looking options to choose from. I do wish I would have written this sooner as I don't feel I am doing their food justice with only my words. It really was very good. Looking forward to going again a.s.a.p. to try their breakfast, whichI have heard very good things about as well. *Note...I did try to go there for breakfast prior to this dinner experience at opening time. Unfortunately there was no one there when they were supposed to be open. 😖Maybe a fluke? As we were driving away an employee (I assume) went past us in a hurry to get there to open. There's always next time. - I'll give them 20 min. after opening so the coffee and grill are hot and ready as well as the staff. 😉

Stopped by for breakfast on our way home from Cashmere to Redmond. Had a very nice sausage burrito. It was just the right size, not some football like thing! Priced right as well, with friendly service. Will go again the next time we are in the area.
