Update August 2024: More improvements. Friendly staff and at an adequate staffing level. More flavors. I had the nanna’s banana pudding - so good. 2022: Much improved with new ownership. Friendlier, cleaned up inside, nicely done order window and then place where they put your order for pick up, nice selection of flavors - and an added bonus - no more creepy Matt at the store

I discovered Tonya and Matt during the pandemic. I wanted so much to feel normal with everything closed down. I appreciate the outside seating, but most of all, the customer service and the product itself. This was our go to outing almost daily. The ice cream Orders were taken from a window, and the young ladies brought them out to the customer through the door. my favorite combinations were Lucuma, Ube, and Ginger. Ube is still my favorite ice cream next to ginger I not pair it with coconut as well as vanilla cherry. I have yet to find another location of these flavors.

We had a blast! The ice cream was great, as was the service. We’ll definitely come back the next time we’re nearby.

We tried to get simple cones at the Northdale location today. Unfortunately your team members couldn’t be bothered to take our order. In stead they stood gabbing with one another. What gives Matt???

I keep coming back for the vegan cookies & cream! It’s my favorite in Tampa Bay! 🫶🏾 there caramel is really good too. Everything taste homemade. It’s creamy but not too creamy, has that iciness I like.

I am a loyal customer of this ice cream shop, but today it is going through a bad time. I went with my daughter and my pet, I stayed outside waiting with my dog ​​and my 9-year-old daughter went in to buy her ice cream, but she spent 10 minutes in line without anyone helping her. The girls were chatting among themselves, not caring that there was a person waiting. When I entered I told one of the girls that my daughter had been waiting for a long time to be seen and the worst thing was that there was no line. They should be more attentive and should respect all customers.

Smooth and creamy, so Delicious. Different fresher, cleaner taste than mist places. Tastes exactly like the flavor says. Really nice and helpful people behind the counter. They always share a smile and that is not always easy to find. Wonderful selection too.

Great milkshakes. A bit pricey, but good. They have great flavors like Smurfs, Superman, and Cinnimon (among others). Great spot for the family in Carrollwood.

We went here yesterday. I ordered the Uber and coconut ice cream on waffle bowl. I enjoyed it sooo much. I hope in the future they will have jackfruit and maiz con yelo flavor to make it Filipino halo halo ice cream.

EDITED: The one thing my daughter (3.5) asked for coming to Florida was bubblegum ice cream. I called all over in Siesta Key, Ruskin, and Tampa. Calling here, I was told yes they have it. Day of, I went online to verify, as it had been a couple days. Bubblegum icecream is listed in the online menu. I then went to order ahead, and was able to select bubblegum icecream, so thinking I was safe, drove an extra 30 minutes away. Got here, and no bubblegum icecream. Major disappointment. NEW INFO: Not only did the owners promptly respond to my review with an apology, they provided an email address for further communication. I was able to correspond directly with the owner to have my frustrations resolved. As I am out of state, they offered many solutions to go above and beyond providing exceptional customer service. Side note, the bubblegum icecream is truly amazing. It's the nostalgic pink icecream with little gum pieces throughout, not the blue and pink bubblegum flavored icecream you might be able to find elsewhere. I will definitely be going back on my next visit to Florida!

Delicious homemade ice cream at a North Tampa staple that's been around for over 30 years! Our kids love Cookie Monster, Cotton Candy, and Strawberry, and playing the claw machine whenever we go! Perfect for a family night out or just when I'm in the area running errands

Would recommend anyone who is in the area or coming in from out of town to try Tanya and Matts. You will not regret it! The staff is great and better yet, the ice cream is homemade!!! This is a must stop if you’re near the shop or have a craving for delicious ice cream

The place was a great representation of a well equipped ice cream shop. Dozens of flavors to choose from, many unique to the location. My favorite was junk in the trunk this time. My ice cream cohort chose almond joy, which has real coconut! Both flavors were exciting and new, along with the 38 or so other flavor. They seem to be made with real ingredients and have such a natural and creamy flavor. It's my new favorite ice cream place!

This is a perfect local ice cream shop. Our kids love coming here to meet friends after big school events and for other special occasions. There are typically a couple dozen flavors, some of which are pretty unique. Staff are always really nice and patient with aforementioned kids. It is a little awkward to see every flavor when there is a long line, but all flavors are listed on the wall to help in this regard. Would highly recommend supporting this family-owned local business!

Delicious and fresh, homemade tasting ice cream. Very creamy, as the name claims. High quality and not real expensive, I had a double scoop waffle cone for $8 which is a little over $3 for one scoop. I had a banana flavor, and it was bursting with natural flavors. I could see the pulp of banana in the ice cream! You can get anything you want here, sundaes, uncommon flavors like green tea. Inside there are comfortable booths, not stiff chairs. I love that they have a raised step by the front window so kids can step up to see the flavors.

Finally found this place after tasting at the tampa Chef Showdown back in April. Ube flavor is super smooth and leaves a nice after-taste. Mississippi mudslide was delicious. Look forward to trying more flavors.

The staff are friendly and the ice cream is so good and creamy. Definitely our list to go to for ice cream. Our favorite flavors are ube/ taro, Mississippi mudslide, Cookie Monster, Smurf, Oreo red velvet and still counting ;)

Loved this place! We came for the first time this weekend. They had sooo many flavors including the classics as well as unique ones. I also loved that they have different options for toppings like Nutella. Prices were reasonable and they offer kiddie cones. We will definitely be back!

Great flavors. Had the coconut almond joy, Kahlua, pistachio and praline and cream. All were exceptional.

This place has gotten a lot better. I remember coming long time and the customer service nor the flavors were memorable but recently my family has went back time and time again. The customer service is much better and the flavors are top notch. I recommend the Mississippi Mud Pie in the nuts & chocolate cone.

There is not enough stars for Tanya & Matt's. This is the # 1 place to go for ice-cream. My husband and I go to Tanya &Matt's I would have to say 4 out of 7 day week. The customer service is absolutely great and I should know I've been in customer service for over 20 years. The only thing there missing is the peach flavor.

Truly the very BEST homemade ice cream I have ever had!!! I always recommend them to anyone and everyone that mention desserts. The price list may be a little older but just showing you what they have for flavors and toppings!!! Definitely worth the trip from anywhere. They are located in Carrollwood next to Winn Dixie and Bealls Dept store almost across from Sams club on Dale Malbry

What a find. Home made ice cream! 40 flavors! Some I've never seen before. Oh yes, challenge accepted. I will continue to go back and keep trying all these eye opening flavors. Ginger? Really? Oh yes! So different but the sample i had wasn't bad. So many others , I can't begin to list. Go check it out for yourself. And in this time of businesses being understaffed, not here. Plenty of happy "scoopers" ready to assist you. If it matters to you, they were all wearing masks. Prices very reasonable too. I had grasshopper - mint with oreo, and other scoop was chocolate covered cherry 🍒. Large slices of cherries covered in chocolate. Mmmmmm i highly recommended this ice cream parlor.

I'm long overdue for shouting to the world how DELICIOUS this ice cream is! Dense, creamy and packed full of flavor ( and every flavor from cinnamon to peanut butter is fabulous) it's among the very best I've ever had anywhere. Friendly staff and tons of flavors. So glad you are close by!
