We spent a week in the Poconos and the last dinner we had was here at A Taste of Susan’s Grill House. The restaurant is not fancy or pretentious. It has a warm, homey feeling, as if you were going to your favorite aunt’s for dinner. The food was fabulous. We ordered a variety of meals and each one was better than next. The pierogis were the best all of us said we ever had and the Queen Esther cake was a delicious dessert. If you want a place for excellent, home cooked food, this is it!!

This is THE place to come for a little taste of Eastern European/central Asian food. Everything is made from scratch and it shows. The wonderfully flavorful dishes are prepared by hand and taste so fresh and delicious. The pierogis are absolutely amazing, as were the kebobs, schnitzel and desserts. I would highly recommend this nice, quaint restaurant.

The owner is a lovely lady, very kind and accommodating to us. We came with our little daughter and enjoyed the mash potatoes. If you are looking for great quality eastern European food. Homemade deserts and Turkish coffee. All very good and prepared to perfection!

Beautiful cozy place to chill in the hot summer or warm up in winter. Food completely hand made from scratch right there on premises from the distinct ‘Armenian grandmother’ recipes.

Ordered takeout. Food was great. Excellent flavors. Cooked well. Quality ingredients. Beautiful presentation even with take out. Very friendly staff. We had Chicken Kiev, Uzbeck pilaf, cheese blintz, hachapuri, and potato pierogies. Everything was good. Food was reasonably priced and portions matched the pricing.

My fiancé and I were looking for a new spot to try and Susan’s grille house did not disappoint!!! So many enticing items on menu. We tried the pickled platter, fish soup, pilaf, stuffed peppers, pirogies, and potato pancakes. Everything was homemade and full of amazing flavor. Not to mention the owners sweet young son being so friendly. We can’t wait to go back and try their other dishes!!! Highly recommend.

This is a genuine Soviet experience. The food is excellent, the service is terrible, and the interior has the charm of a greyhound bus station.

Amazing food, the kebabs are fresh and taste 5 star good. Strongly recommend the soups and the samsa. Staff is friendly and give great recommendations for first timers. Definitely will be coming back

This restaurant is a gem! Food is really great. They did not have sweet pierogi's, but I highly recommend fish soup. Honey cake was great and not too sweet (what a surprise!), but the potion is very large. $27 for a full dinner with a drink and a shared dessert.

Amazing food! We had the hachapuri, assorted pickles, lamb kebab, pierogis and they were all amazing. Susan is the sweetest server I’ve ever had. We were just visiting the area for the weekend but we were so lucky to find this place. If we ever come back to the area we will definitely come back here!

The best potato pancakes I've ever had and I've been eating them for 60 years in many restaurants and homes.

Absolutely delicious. The lamb kebab was great, the service was awesome, and the yogurt/madzoon afterwards was such a great touch. Loved it.

Delicious, clean food. I almost hate to leave a review in fear of ruining this hidden, small-town diamond. We ordered lamb and stuffed peppers. My husband said it was nice and light. I would go back.

100% recommend. Food was phenomenal easy 10/10. Service was excellent. (Ask for Elba if you can) She made the experience even better. 1000/10. Only bad thing I can say is the owner would not share her soup recipe. 😉 We live too far to make this a regular stop, but if we're ever in the Poconos... we will be there. We are going back before we leave.

Hands down the absolute best Eastern European food I have ever tasted. We wanted to go back again and again. A must stop if you're in the area, I recommend the pelmeni!

Excellent food and friendly service!

We ordered 3 different types of kabobs, Uzbek pilaf, mushroom soup, and pierogies. The whole family devoured everything. Everyone there was also incredibly nice. Even the kids finished their kids meals and we had to order seconds.

We ate here because we wanna try new foods besides eating inside the waterpark resort. This place is definitely worth a try.

Anytime we are in this area we always go here. The food is authentic and delicious! Everyone makes you feel welcome like you are family.

It's a place with very authentic Central Asian and East European food! I ordered Manti and Lagman, and they have so many options for kebabs! Don't forget to try their desserts too! Highly recommended! Plus I had a pleasure of meeting and talking to Susan!

Had the pleasure of meeting Susan and enjoying her delicious and flavorful homemade cuisine last night. I tried quite a bit and ordered some to take home and try as well! Susan offers a nice atmosphere, warm welcome and great conversation. I’ll definitely be back!

Oh, don't get put off by the strip mall. This 💎 gem is an Eastern European delight. Sparkling clean, wonderfully friendly service. The Odessa salad is Devine! The potato and cheese pierogis are heavenly! (Try the potato salad, its so yummy and light.) We will be back!

An amazing little restaurant with a very good selection of eastern European food. My buddy and I stopped in for dinner and are going back for dinner before we head back to Jersey with our family. Five stars for taste, freshness, quick service, variety. Definitely try the Pierogi and stuffed cabbage.

Really good and hearty foods, would recommend

Food is outstanding, it’s so incredibly delicious and flavorful, made from local ingredients, and makes you feel like you’re eating at your moms house where you’re welcome, comforted and taken care of. The menu is extensive and there is a variety of prepared food you can take to go - we enjoyed our meal so much we took home some extra for the week. Odessa salad, stuffed cabbage, lamb kebob and hand cut potatoes with garlic and dill were fantastic. Cant wait to go back, thanks for a delicious experience!

Unsuspecting “hole in the wall” restaurant that delivered absolutely high quality meal. We ordered quite a variety and absolutely loved every dish! The lamb is even locally sourced, it was incredible. It’s a must try if you’re in the area!

A small place with really good eastern European food. Reminds me of my childhood, next time I am in the area, this place is a must. The pelmani were great, the same goes for the pickled hearing w/ potato.

Food was delicious and friendly staff. Went with my kids and they loved the kebab, schnitzel, chicken soup, juice, stuffed cabbage, and everything else they tried.

Was looking forward to trying this place on my Moms Birthday and they did not disappoint. Everything is made fresh and good portions. Very friendly owner and staff/family. Definitely recommend and going again!

Haven't had any Armenian food In some time and this place did not disappoint! From the moment you walk in, to the moment you walk out, it's nothing but a blast! Some of the dishes I've personally enjoyed were the shish kebab, the khash, and the Kompot (fruit punch.) The waitresses Rachel & Adelinawere attentive and the food was delicious! GOD BLEAS Susan,Eric and family I highly recommend trying the food here, cause it's something different (and in a good way!).

Decided to try this place after hearing rave reviews and the food was fantastic. Siberian pelmeni and samsi were devoured immediately. The group loved the Lulia and chicken kebabs. We were surprised by the schnitzel and enjoyed it. Can't wait to go back!

Honestly some of the worst food we've ever had. We ordered gyros and the meat tasted like sausage. They said it was kebab meat but it was just like sausage and it did not taste good. The tzatziki was like water and not flavorful at all. And the gyro came on a wrap, not pita bread! Service was slow even though they were not busy. Baklava was okay. I do not recommend this place.

We came to one of the waterpark resorts for the weekend but weren’t too excited about their restaurants so we decided to give Susan’s a try. We were a large group (5 adults and 5 kids) so we called ahead and they had no problem accommodating us. Everything tasted great - very fresh and homemade, and we got to try some new dishes. Desserts were also excellent and we were able to get a few more to go. Highly recommended, and we’ll be sure to come back next time we’re in the area.

The food was DELICIOUS. We got soups, small-plates and platters that were all so good. The atmosphere feels just like eating at your babushkas (including the service). The compot is even better than my babushkas but please don’t tell her. Will come again.

Taste of Susan's proves once again that the best ethnic food is usually found in old strip malls! Found this place looking for a parking spot for the antiques mall. We went antiquing then went to Taste of Susan's for lunch. I had a hard time placing the nationality because there were sodas from Georgia, Armenia, and Russia in the cooler and the menu is a bit of a hodgepodge of those countries. I asked our server who said that the staff is from all over the ex-Soviet Union and their menu reflects that. We had a mixed pickle platter, Odessa salad (eggplant and tomatoes in sauce), peirogies, and bread. All were excellent, fairly priced, and the service was great as well. Try it out; you won't be disappointed!

My wife and I took our 1 year old to Great Wolf. Since we didn't want to eat at the hotel, we looked for other local spots. One of the places we found was Susan’s. We started with the pirogies, then got a beef stew, chicken schnitzel and a lamb Samsi. All were great The staff was kind, and Susan herself is very sweet and accommodating. She even brought over some free cucumbers for our baby which was really cool. If we are ever in the area again, we will surely stop at Susan's for an amazing meal. Update - we dined here again before we left town. Even better experience. Susan gave our baby chicken soup and homemade fruit juice which he loved. We had thru Gyros. They were excellent. Can’t wait to dine here again!

My Russian wife felt like it was visiting home or a friend's family restaurant.

The food was very delicious and the antecedents were excellent.

We almost turned around when we saw this small restaurant was located in an un-inviting strip mall. We are glad we didn't. Everything we had was amazing. The chicken schnitzel, perogies, hand cut fries, mashed potatoes, suffed cabbage, apple strudel, and baklava were well executed. The owner Susan ans her husband Eric were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back the next time we are in the area.

This place was phenomenal. Every thing was great, hidden gem for sure . Very pleasant atmosphere. Very clean and sweet ladies working. Will definitely return. Try everything we had perogie, soup, and some Eastern Europe food as well. All at a fair price as well.note there is a wait for your food —-all home made—all handmade. So it takes some time.

Was overcharged by $30, we had asked many times for water and only got it after we got our food. Overall, very bad service, but pretty decent food.

My mom makes the best chicken soup ever but even my mom agrees on how deliciously flavorful their soup is!

Stopped in for my second time passing through the area. The staff and food is absolutely incredible! If you are thinking about reading the few negative reviews, I’ll save you the time. Anyone rating below 5 stars ordered hot dogs or other meals from the children’s menu. Pay them no mind.

This was one of the best restaurants I’ve been to! All of the many dishes we tried were excellent. My very picky 5 year old daughter said “that was the best chef in the world!”

This place was amazing! Highly recommend for anyone who wants to try delicious Ukrainian or Georgian food. We were a party of 7, including 2 young kids, and everyone enjoyed their meals. (One person was vegan and there were plenty of vegan dishes.) We loved the beet salad, salad Odessa, chicken skewer (great for kids), chabureki, and khatchapuri. We were too full for dessert but they had lots of options that sounded good. If we come back to the Poconos, I definitely want to come back to this restaurant. Also, there is a playground across from the restaurant - perfect for the kids.

Nice find on the way to the poconos. They had beef stew special that night so we gave it a try, it was tasty. The skewers were great, wish they had more variety since I only eat meat. Wife liked the salad, kids liked the pilaf and the fruit compote drink. It was a nice cozy meal. The owners were very warm and welcoming.

You’ve heard the saying “a hidden gem”, this place is exactly that! Our second trip and and the good does not disappoint! Everything is freshly made and delicious! Had the chicken soup today and it was outstanding! The pickled platter is a great appetizer! If you’re in the area and you want something a little different in a a quaint resturant A Taste Of Suzanne is perfect!!
