Some authentically delicious ramen, and the small plates aren't bad either. Really enjoyed the shrimp dish. There was a long wait but it was worth it. Only regret, not getting the wavy noodles instead.

WOW. This place is small but mighty! I had the Tan tan which was lightly spicy and full of excellent flavor. My mouth waters as I write about it. The rest of my party got the terakawa ramen which was savory, creamy and full of umami. We got the gyoza and seaweed salad both delicious. Everything came out quickly and HOT. We will be back.

I know I’m not the first nor will I be the last person to leave a review stating how extremely disappointed I am with the service please come to work with a positive attitude some people just want some good quality ramen without the negativity that the workers put in the atmosphere! I’m not to sure if I was being racially profiled because the same lady was extremely nice to a white man just a table away from me completely baffled me.., but do better Terakawa Ramen (Manager) out of all the staff you had the worst customer service and absolute garbage management and I would know considering how many times I managed restaurants.

Although the store is small, the staff were all very friendly and the ramen tasted really good. If you, like me, don't like meat in ramen, it would be nice to try Vegetable Ramen Miso flavor. I think if you cook the ramen just a little bit more, it will taste just like it does in Japan.

One of those restaurants that you could take anyone to and always guarantee that they'll be satisfied by a filling meal that wont decimate the bank. The portions 100% justify the price, you'll leave completely satisfied. As a regular, the restaurant is really consistent. The service is always great. The only con I could say about the service is it sometimes feels like they will try and rush to get your food boxed and get you out the door. this restaurant gets packed QUICK and they're just trying to get other guests in. Expect a queue at night, especially on weekends. I highly recommend the Katsudon as a comforting rice dice. It's savory but also sweet and the chicken is incredibly tender. The Gyudon very much reminds me of me of a warm cheesesteak on rice, minus the cheese, with the strong beef and onion flavors. Incredibly comforting but heavy. The bao buns are serviceable, i've definitely had better but they're still good. The pork in the Bao bun seems a little thin and lacks a punchy porky flavor. This is a great restaurant for those cold winter nights, the food is heavy, warm, and sends you home happy. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is seeking authentic Japanese comfort food.

I came in to pick up a take-out order, the person I called was pleasant, as well as the server who came to help me right when I walked into the store. Because of the kind and attentive service, I decided to leave a $5 tip. The order was $15.66. I woke up this morning to find that I was charged another $5.00 on my credit card. I am not sure if this was a simple mistake, or something as awful as trying to squeeze out more money from customers. I don’t know for sure but, the last thing I want is being charged extra unknowingly. I know it’s just another $5.00, but I’m sure no-one would like it if there were surprise charges days after the order was put in, eaten, and forgotten about….I could have easily just walked out after paying for something as simple as a take-out order. I will not remove my review until this is fixed.

Came in as a party of one on a Thursday afternoon a little after lunchtime, the place was still busy, but I was able to be seated at the bar immediately. On my way in I opened the door for a couple on their way out and I asked them how the food was. Their response: “Excellent, as always”. As I was only in the city for one day, I just tried the Signature Terakawa Ramen. The food arrived in under 10 minutes and It was excellent! The egg and meat were delicious and cooked to perfection. The broth was rich and flavorful. The noodles were at the right level of done-ness. There are nice condiments for you to customize your ramen to your liking: sesame seeds and oil, chili powder, chili oil, and dried garlic granules. I highly recommend it.

The ramen is good. Best in town. Not many tables and the wait can be a while however. Parking is very limited and you cannot call in advance to reserve a spot. They gave me a wildly inaccurate wait time so I ended up going but ended up having to wait over an hour, not 15 minutes like what was said on the phone. All the food is cooked right in front of you too. I wouldn’t recommend anything outside of the ramen though.

By far the best ramen joint in philly. Charsu is delicious, succulent and falls apart in your mouth. Great varieties of ramen accessible to everyone, including shoyu, miso, tonkotsu and even spicy style broths. Soft boiled eggs are perfect and flavorful. Great selection of appetizers / sides such as steam buns and takoyaki done really well. Service is pretty fast and extremely friendly. Everyone there makes sure you're taken care, and you can tell they really care about the quality of the food. The usual wait time is at least 30-45 mins during the peak hours with a group of more than 2 people. The Ramen broth here is flavorful and offers a wide range of toppings. Me and friends had a hankering for ramen and we went here after hearing so many people rave about this place. It was bustling and we had to wait maybe 8 minutes and honestly I did not mind. This is not the place to have reservations, in and out is the type of service I’m expecting in places like these and I agree! We ordered some apps and a bowl of ramen for each of us. I had the shoyu with extra salt. Ramen tends to have a more mild flavor for me, so the salt realllllly added a lot to the dish. I loved the ramen truly. It hit the spot. The broth was exceptionally tasty. The pork was tender, the soy egg was properly made, could be a little runnier, but I get it. hiro ramen has a little more tenderness to its pork but it was still good tender made pork. I will say skip the apps. We had the takoyaki and fried pork buns. Nothing special really and it adds an unnecessary precursor to the highlight of the meal especially since their portion sizes are perfect if you just want to get in and out. Service was also friendly and efficient. Would come back again!

The place is small and cramped but reflective of a ramen shop you would typically find in Japan. The wait was long (about an hour), but there are a lot of things in the area within walking distance if you need to pass the time. I ordered the pork buns and the signature Terakawa ramen. The pork buns came with two, but they also sell orders of three. The crispy Japanese-style bun was interesting; I hadn't seen it before, even in Japan. It tasted okay. The Terakawa ramen came with natural heritage berkshire pork bone soup topped with roast pork (char siu), bamboo shoots, kikurage mushrooms, red ginger, chopped scallions, and a seasoned boiled egg. I liked it. The broth was on the saltier side but flavorful. The roast pork was soft. The egg could have been runnier. Not sure if this place was worth the wait, but I was satisfied with the meal.

First time here. Came during lunch and it wasn't crazy packed. Was promptly welcomed and seated by the hostess/waitress. Menus are available through scanning the QR code on your phone. I decided to go with the takoyaki appetizer and gyu don. I made the mistake of eating the takoyaki right away and easily burned my mouth. 😅 It was delicious though. Nice and warm and the octopus was not tough. The sauces on top and the bonito flakes brought all of the appetizer together perfectly. The gyu don was very filling and tasty as well. The shaved meat was tender and flavorful and the caramelized onions added a touch of sweetness. The slightly runny egg was a nice addition too. If I'm ever in Philly again, I'm coming here for more. Definitely a must try in Philadelphia's Chinatown. Decently priced food in a bustling location with polite, kind, and welcoming staff. Go check them out.

Be prepared for a long wait for subpar Ramen. Decided to go here with a small group of friends and didn't realize how busy the place would be. The restaurant is fairly small with a super limited number of tables. When we arrived, each table was taken, so we had to place our names down on a waitlist. We were number 2 in line and the wait was showing around 5 to 12 minutes when we first arrived, but this was highly inaccurate. We wound up waiting about double the amount of time, so more than a 20 minute wait, which would not have been a problem if the waitlist was accurate. When we were finally seated, it did take some time for our orders to be taken and for the food to come out. I wasn't too impressed with the menu. It's mainly what you'd expect from a Ramen shop, a few different apps, several Ramen options, a singular type of dessert. We decided on a miso Ramen, spicy Ramen, and a bibim noodles for our main meals. We also ordered pork buns and takoyaki for our apps. The portion sizes are fairly large but it does make sense for the price. It would make more sense to serve smaller portions and charge customers less so there isn't so much food waste. My friends really enjoyed the miso Ramen and the bibim noodles, but the spicy Ramen lacked flavor. Aside from the spice, there was nothing truly special about it. I was left a bit disappointed. Would rate the the spicy Ramen a 4 out of 10. Regarding the apps, the pork bun was okay. Lacked flavor as well and not enough meat. 5 out of 10. As for the takoyaki, I just may not be a fan of that appetizer. I didn't like how mushy it was on the inside, but I do believe that is just part of how it is meant to be cooked. Regardless, I would rate about a 4 out of 10 but, again, the rating is lower due to my personnel preference for texture in food. I think this would be a great place for true Ramen lovers, but unfortunately, I am just not the biggest fan of Ramen so my experience wasn't as enjoyable.

Service is really, really quick, friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were served very quickly. Ordered the Mayu Ramen which were very tasty and rich, the meat inside was amazing. Ordered the Gyoza too, which were fine too. Would totally recommend this place to visit, especially because their service was honestly very attentive and kind.

Very nice ramen spot!! The food came out extremely fast and all the staff were super nice! Takoyaki was the best I had! Tried onigiri for the first time here as well and liked it a lot. Definitely gonna come back here and I recommend it to anyone in the area!

The best in Philly. Period. Their pork bone broth is the best I’ve ever had. It is incredibly savory and rich. Would highly recommend any ramen with that as the base soup and the mini curry rice bowl to accompany it for just $4. The shrimp tempura udon is also very good- the texture of the noodles is great. Can get busy but their service is very fast and attentive. Worth the wait time if there is one.
