My kids have been coming here for years for the tamales! We'd love to come in on occasion for a burger and fries as well The wait time is a good 20 to 30 minutes as everything is cooked fresh but well worth the wait!

Old-time roadhouse north of Mora. Famous for handmade Tamales of finest quality in corn shucks. I have the green-chile cheeseburger, a classic. The burritos are from your grandmother and from Teresa, excellent.

Me and two of my friends drove from albuquerque to eat Theresa's tamales on 5-25-24, claims to be best in NM, their website said they would be open until 3pm. We got there at 1:53 pm and there was a closed sign on the door. I could see people inside so i went in, a man immediately said they were closed, he said they closed at 2pm today. I said it was not yet 2pm and again he said wer'e closed, i explained we came from albuquerque and again he said we are closed, if i could rate lower than 1 star i would. Worst service i have ever received anywhere.

Amazing food good spice kick without being too spicy. Great service and food was an excellent price to portion size. Only downside was it was a little small most of Mora is but will recommend and will be back. This is the tamale plate.

It is a old place, but very clean. I had the tamale 🍽 plate and it was the best tamales I have had in a long time. Great ladies that work there!!!

Good luck getting any Tamales here. They are always out of food and portions are tiny.

These charming little roadside diner is a must stop for tasty tamales and other Mexican dishes. Under nee ownership, we found that the dishes were not nearly as spicy as in the past. We missed the kick, but understood how other customers might want more mild flavors. The green Chili salsa is legit(contains pork). Everything is really satisfying and delicious!

Randomly stopped here on my way to Las Vegas, New Mexico. Delicious tamales, large portions, good value, friendly helpful staff, casual environment . On our way out we asked another customer which way to Las Vegas. Assumed he was a local. Fellow customer had no idea about directions. He was from Albuquerque, and regularly drives the 2 hours to enjoy the food at Theresa’s Tamale. He was also taking an extra dinner home to enjoy at a later time.

The papitas were perfectly fried and tasted fresh and clean. The tamales were the true handmade artisan class food that we were all brought up with. The milder spice level means even the kids can enjoy tamales without fear. Need to bump up the heat? Cover them with a hotter chili.

Enjoying a long weekend getaway in New Mexico with my husband and we stopped at this restaurant and enjoyed a rather delicious Tamale, Chili Relleno and Smothered Burrito for lunch! We both Highly recommend this place for its yummy food along with great customer service! Amanda is a talented cook & baker and it absolutely showed with the continual traffic we witnessed during our lunch! It is a must on your bucket list when in the area!

Very expensive and ran out of food. Don't know if it's because of new owners and still don't have the feel for customers.

I will confess, I'm a tamale hound - so I had to pull over as I went by. Unfortunately, they were out of tamales BUT I had a killer burrito and my wife had tacos. The burrito was AWESOME, delicious and filled me to the gills. Oh yeah, great price for a great meal. Don't miss this place!!

Drove all the way from Abq to check this place out after seeing it on the news and it was closed when we arrived. Google showed it as open and it was not. Business owners don't care anymore. Then they complain business declines.... but it's ok they don't show up😕

My husband and I would drive 100 miles to eat at Teresa’s Tamales. Best tamales in the west! Also, their green chili cheeseburgers are five star. If you want tamales, go early…. they are worth it.

Everything you eat at Theresa's is great, the food is delicious. I think on the hamburgers and some of the meat stuff they need to put more spices but other than that everything else there is great I'd make that trip once a week or twice a week to go eat there sometimes I can't cuz I live in Las Vegas and that is in Mora New Mexico but if you ever travel up to see papu or anywhere in that area you have to try today's it is worth the drive just to keep their food

Loved it. Staff was welcoming, personable, and helpful. Food was great. Fresh, and flavorful. Had the burrito, also got tamales to try and had to take them for later because the burrito was so filling. Inexpensive. You can also buy tamales by the dozen, fresh or frozen, take out.
