So my wife visits with her seniors group! We have been here twice ! I like Asian fish dishes! I found two: one a hit was the catfish and the second was either swai a less quality fish both prepared the same with the latter more seasoned! Service is great but hard to get a second glass of water! I like where we have been seated but it's the ugliest table ! lol! This is a great stop before a movie! Dishes are somewhat light of protein but enjoyable!

Best Pho for the price in town! $12 for Pho v.s. $16+ at other places and service has always been awesome. Sam is the best!

This is a solid Thai restaurant. Been here once for takeout and once to dine in. Both times I was satisfied. Pho could be the best in Charlottesville. Service was good and prices are fair. Don’t miss this little hidden spot.

My food tasted amazing & service was fast.

They served my sister the wrong noodle soup, told us they’d bring the right one and then we proceeded to wait over an hour while the rest of us finished our entire meals and she still sat there with no food. A waitress eventually came, pointed at the bowl of uneaten noodles and actually said “Are you good with this?” Finally they brought it out when we were already past the time we’d planned to leave, then absolutely no compensation was given to us. We would have expected at least the dish to be comped, or even just a free soda which would’ve literally been $2. We feel they did not respect our time and did not compensate at all for their mistake. We will not be returning. We recognize it was a busy hour and we don’t blame the waitresses for following what we can only assume is restaurant policy - we blame the management and their policies for the lack of compensation. Also, they initially told us we could keep the incorrect order as a courtesy while they made the right one, but then came back later and took it away. Presumably they just threw it out. *Update: appreciate the restaurant responding quickly to the review and compensating us the day after. Adjusted our rating accordingly and will give it another try.

It is cozy and pleased place ! Food was okk!! Yes some were not tasty at all but overall it was good experience! Has some lovely staff and very polite ones too!!

Very slow, very rude, waited twenty minutes to order food and nobody came, went to ask the server and he went “oh you can just leave if you can’t wait”. Unbelievable. You can have your reasons, but the attitude explains itself. I’ve moved AWAY from the uncleared table after you requested and waited patiently at the door to sit at a new table. If you are going to tell your side of the story, you could at least tell the WHOLE story. Likewise, you could tell me politely that there were not enough servers, but instead you chose to be rude and aggressive. You had a choice, and you CHOSE to be rude. Shameless and unblessed behavior.

Huge menu! Great food and prices! There were only 2 servers and a full house and they still managed to be fast and friendly.

Favourite restaurant in Charlottesville by far!! I’ve tried all their wide noodle dishes and each one is delicious. Also love their mango sticky rice! Always greeted with sweet and friendly servers!

Having visited twice and sampled a wide variety of items, the flavors are spot on and remind one of day s spent in Thailand. The portions are generous and the prices very reasonable. An easy walk from the nearby Hyatt Place. This place is a better choice than those on Bond Street. Worth a visit.

Very yummy, but unfortunately really understaffed. Lots of vegetarian options and they were able to accommodate nut allergies (and remove oyster sauce)

Food was very good. However, we waited for a while to get waited on. When food was delivered, they did not have our appetizers. We were never checked on for the whole dinner. Needed additional water, napkins, etc. Had to go up and ask for the check.

The steamed seafood curry had the texture of school paste. It was so off-putting that we could not eat it, and the satay was overly sweet. Service was fine, as was the atmosphere. There is nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about with decor or service. Update: Since being informed that the gelatinous texture of the sauce is intentional, the the dish certainly met it's goal. I will edit to say if you do not care for gelatinous textures, best avoid that particular dish.

Discovered this place last summer and now it's my go to for great food. Whether it's take out or dine in it's always a good meal and amazing experience. Always Recommended!! :)

Authentic Thai food. This place has most of the Thai dishes we often order. The Tom yum soup was a bit off, but rest of the dishes were quite good. We ordered curry puff, house salad, curry, pineapple fried rice, etc. Mostly good. Service was very courteous.

Delicious food! The green curry and chive cake appetizer were great. Just a warning, the medium spice level (the basic for the curry) is decently spicy. They did a great job of accommodating my partner with celiac.

Absolutely delicious. The papaya salad was Absolutely amazing! The levels of spice were on point and very consistent throughout the dishes - I was happy with mild! Not cheap, but worth every penny, from appetizers to dessert. From presentation to taste. And service was amazing as well!

Was craving Thai and did a quick google search and this gem popped up. Had Thai dumplings, quail eggs, crispy rolls and curry. All were fresh and delicious. We will back anytime we are in Charlottesville and craving Thai.

While the food was good, the service was not. From the moment I walked in, the waitress seemed as if she had an attitude. Didn’t introduce herself so I have no idea what her name was and kept calling me lady throughout the time I was there. She took my order. My app came out fine, but when it was time for my pho, this was not okay. She dropped my food off to a different table with multiple people at it. When she realized she messed up a couple minutes later, she picked up the food from the table and brought it directly to my table. I asked her for a fresh one since it hit the other table but she proceeded to argue with me about how they didn’t touch it. She couldn’t know that for sure and where was the concern for food safety. After a few times back and forth, she finally walked the food back to the kitchen. I watched the entire time as she looked back to see if I was watching and tried to hide behind the pole as she spoke with cooks. I couldn’t see if the cook or waitress dumped the food. I received food a few minutes later. I ate it despite being hesitant. As my first time there after being recommended, I would be hesitant to dine in again.

The pineapple fried rice and lad nah were delicious. Both were so flavorful and the perfect spice level.

The food was good. We would have liked some rice, though! We got three meals and they did give us rice. I don't see how I can call them to report this.

The food is great. I really like the Thai curry stir fry. The tall guy that runs the front counter does a great job!

Food is good but service is lackluster. They don't pick up the phone. I tried multiple times. When I got there, the manager said you need to order ahead which is fine but their website doesnt say to order online and not to call. It should state it if they're not going to pick up. The manager has a massive ego... and they always forget to include any extras you asked for. To address the owners reply: Your website should state to order online or to come in person to order only. What's the point of having a phone number if you're not going to pick up. And I stand by my comment regarding the manager having a massive ego, you can read the condescending smirk in the managers reply.

Was really great. Had pad thai and shrimp tempora. Great spice level. Would go here again next time in town.

Terrible. I would laugh if I could at someone’s review of being so happy to find a place with “authentic” Thai food. First off, that cannot be found except in true Thai communities in the US. I have experienced this first hand. This food I ate is the furthest from that. That shared, I also like the US version of Thai food when it is good. This was terrible. My Pad Thai noodles were a brick too difficult to work through without scraping some off. The shrimp had no flavor at all and there was no egg. Well. I could not see any egg. The lime was too hard to squeeze for moisture. I even tried adding the leftover peanut sauce from my fresh roll. Nope. No help. With any of it. Onto the fresh roll. Worthless. Both ends open and not wound tight at all so everything was falling out. The sweet potato puffs were largely void of potato, not full, greasy and less than underwhelming. So disappointed.

Our event was perfect. The flexibility, menu, detail and communication throughout the planning was phenomenal. Highly recommend for your group party!

It’s pretty standard Americanized fare, but it’s good and it’s reliable. Sometimes you just want some drunken noodles and spring rolls at a moderate price. Check them out if you do.

This is me and my husbands favorite Thai place in town. Their take out pho is always expertly packaged and never disappoints. I personally like their panang curry. The owners are incredibly nice and clearly hard working (one of them is often helping as a server when I go to pick up). They were also cautious and a good place for takeout during Covid too.

Love their Pho, also the yellow curry. This is a place that truly cares about the service and the happiness of their customers. Family and community spirit.

Pad Thai and Thai Basil were very good. Thai Hot was decently hot. Still would've liked it even hotter. Service was initially slow. Took a while to even get a soda. Food eventually came out at a reasonable time. The summer rolls were very good as well.

Cool little spot and walkable for a lot of folks. The location is hidden, so I slept on this place for three months. The food is pretty darn good. I would have liked to wait at the bar so I could have watched the TV rather than the service staff. Very clean place, good portions and quality chopsticks! Next time I’ll go for lunch and try the Thai tea. Thank you for the generosity!

Such good Thai food. Their appetizers were not good; small fried fake foodness. But their actual meals are real tasty! They’re always friendly and on time.

I initially wanted to give 5 stars, but I've docked two after this experience. I ordered the soft shell crab again, Thai spicy, and it's not even medium spicy. The sauce is underseasoned and they've given me broccoli that's spoilt already. The first time was great, this second time not so much. I was hoping for a bit more consistency. Edit: I want to address the response from the owner. I would like to point out that if you truly think spice levels are subjective and do not like them, then don't put the spice levels as an option on the online ordering menu. I specifically requested it in the comment to make it spicier. If your chefs don't have a consistent way of controlling the spice level, then that's a QC issue. Secondly, I have been to multiple other Asian restaurants that provide spice levels and they are generally consistent with the amount of spice they provide at each level. Sure, their levels of spice are different, but theirs was consistently reproducible. Third, I'm going to circle back and highlight the things you avoided in the response - the lack of seasoning in the sauce and the spoilt vegetables in my dish. That's a quality control issue. I'm not going to open each takeout container at the register and taste test it, then ask for more spice or new broccoli. That's not how that works. Please make sure your food is at least edible before it goes out because that's a potential food safety violation.

I’ve tried several Thai restaurants in Charlottesville when I travel here for business and this is by far the best! The spring rolls were large and tasty and the drunken noodles were perfect. Some restaurants add way too many ingredients to them - all they need are noodles, chicken, pepper, onion, and basil. That’s all they had here! Delicious and prices were extremely reasonable.

Found this place based on good Google reviews and the people were not wrong. A nice little restaurant with a mix of Thai and Vietnamese. We got an assortment and I had the basil duck and it was excellent. The Pho was top notch, I stole some of my son's. It's tucked back behind a little shopping center but you can also walk up from the Movie theater if you need SE asian fix.

Drunken Noodles was amazing. However, I did not like the red curry. Maybe this is because of Tofu. I hope this is good for other meat. The creamy gravy in red curry was good in taste.

Couldn’t place a carry out order because they were “too busy”. Not impressed.

ETA: My husband went in tonight to pick up carry out for us. When he went in to place an order, as we have for carry out 2 other times, he was turned away because they were “too busy” to accept carry out even though the restaurant was as mostly empty. A customer was even walking out with carry out when he arrived. We understand times are tough and restaurants are short staffed, but must be nice to be doing well enough to turn away business when you offer carry out to others. And the businesses response here was pretty pathetic too. I guess first impressions aren’t all that! —————-——— We picked up take out the other night and we’re pleasantly surprised with the food! We got the fried rice and drunken noodles which were kicking with spice and flavor. We really enjoyed the food and the service was amazing, even just for carry out. This will be our go to Thai food spot from now on! ETA: We were finally able to dine in here! What a cute family spot. The service was a little slow but given it’s family owned that’s totally understandable.

Arrived at 8:23. Hours on the door stated open until 9:00. Host wouldn’t seat us. It’s Friday evening. Very inconsiderate.

Hands down the best Thai in Charlottesville. Our favorites are the Panang Curry, Pineapple fried rice, and Pad See ew, but I’ve never had a bad meal. The vegetables in all the noodle dishes maintain such crispness rather than getting limp. I don’t normally leave reviews, I’m here to counteract the low reviews I’m seeing that are totally unfair and not even about the food. I can’t imagine trying to balance dine in and takeout especially when short staffed. You’d never walk into a restaurant and complain about not being given a table if all the tables are full because you can see that and you understand. What’s harder to see is how the kitchen is functioning to handle take out and dine in orders. Jeeze. I respect these guys to make calls on what they can or cannot handle, and turn people away rather than make them wait for over an hour for carry out which would actually be bad service. Place an online order early. Call for a reservation. Act like this is an exclusive restaurant, because the quality of the food and the people behind those dishes deserve that. Ask yourself why you’d understand being turned away at a more expensive/“prestigious” restaurant but not here. Challenge your opinions on Asian food. It’s not just fast, cheap takeout churned on demand.. even if that’s what you’re used to or expect. At TCNH the people CARE about the food and deserve better from their customers.

Always remember, when a restaurant is packed with happy guests, it is because they are a great restaurant. Sometimes if a restaurant is understaffed, the staff that is there are working twice as hard. Be kind.

I love this place! Our family goes there every time we are in the Charlottesville area. The staff is super friendly and the food is AMAZING! This is a great family-owned business with people who care what they serve you, so they can showcase their great culture and fantastic eats.

Didn't start well. We arrived 1 hr b4 close. Waitress wasn't sure if it was too late to seat us. Almost left bc I don't go where I am not welcome. Other Waitress seated us. 3 courses and we made it out b4 close. Food was just ok. Calamari was the toughest I've had. I did love the breading on it tho. Waitress asked how it was and said nothing when we told her it was tough. Lots of signs on the menu that say no return and no exchange. We requested mild everything and it was still hot for me bc I can no longer eat wonderful spicy food. I had pad thai..still spicy but I managed. So expect it to be a tad spicier than you think. All in all, it was decent and reasonable prices.

Drunken noodle cold and no sauce. Pho cold. Vegetarian fried rice had fish but manager assured us their expert kitchen didn’t mess up. Their excuse, “it’s busy” don’t seat guests that you can’t serve. Worst experience for a group of 7 people. Thanks for ruining dinner!

能吃，但不好吃。 最好吃的是芒果糯米饭Dessert Mango Sticky Rice，这一道菜我能给五星，巨好吃，简直无敌，是我如果有机会再去这家店还想再来一口的程度。 但是其他真的很一般，冬阴功汤简直爆雷，极其诡异的味道，跟我认知上的冬阴功汤感觉完全不同，又甜又酸，又一股子水味，就喝了一口就完全没碰乐。 Pho就还行，能吃，但是汤底不行，不够浓郁。一个好的汤底应该是你加完青柠以后，鲜中带着一丝酸味，但是这个加完青柠以后就是酸味，说明汤本来的水加多了，没有鲜味，不好吃。 另外就是这个肉片，很老很干，不知道是不是煮过了。好吃的Pho的肉应该是很薄，热汤一过就微熟，带着一点粉色，不会很难嚼的那种，这个肉就感觉很老。

Everything was just ok but not horrible. I'm not sure what others tried to give higher reviews. Pho broth was not what I'm used to having at Vietnamese restaurants. Soft shell crab was not crunch and couldn't taste crab at all since it was smothered in sauce. Just a very small one piece cut in half and so gooey. Pad Thai was ok. The flat noodle was a bit salty. Had high expectations, oh well.

Really good. Best Thai food I’ve had in a long time. Loved the green curry, vegetable tempura, and sticky rice. My picky kids enjoyed the pineapple rice, no egg or spice. They did a nice job preparing the takeout so that it looked & tasted good when we opened it. I suggest ordering a little below the spice level you think you can handle!

OMG, I don't even have words. If you're familiar with making chicken broth/stock, you'll immediately recognize the effort taken to develop their's. DELICIOUS. I get their take out. It goes beyond imagination how wonderfully packaged, their take out bags are. You can't go wrong with them. If I lived in Charlottesville, I would be there everyday!

Great Thai restaurant up the stairs from the Tesla chargers. Thai owned, some Thai speaking staff, and chills growing outside. They had duck grapao!
