This is a must do! We love going to the back porch restaurant! The food is so yummy and comes out in a little basket. The tea is always delicious! The atmosphere is so relaxing and comfortable.

This is a cute restaurant. I have been 2 times. It's been great both times.

My grandson and I went on an "adventure" and went here. We LOVE this place! I am taking my husband here for 1 of our stops for our anniversary!❤

The decor was good, the food and pricing was great. Me & my husband were a little skeptical about the diversity in the environment. But to our Surprise the customer service was great! We had an employee come up to us and explain about the property and the history of it. We loved the place.

The Barn and Back Porch is a great gathering place! Always neat things to see before or after you shop. Make sure you go when the original antique shop is open. The food is good and I always get the same thing: pulled pork sandwich with potato salad and creamy veg soup. For dessert, I get the ice cream sandwich cookie. You get to pick a sandwich, soup, salad and dessert.

This place is sweetly adorable and you can't help but feel positively joyful while enjoying your delightful picnic lunch on the porch. I'm an iced tea lover, and they have some lovely teas. It's the perfect place for a shower, birthday or just lunch with loved ones. We will definitely be back.

So glad we found this gem! Fun picnic basket lunch! Food was delicious! Helpful staff. We sat out on the deck, near the water. But the inside is beautiful also. The owner gave my kids food to feed the fish. We saw a small alligator too. We got there about an hour before they closed, so only a few other people there. I'm sure it can get very busy at peak times. On site garden shop and antique shop, but we didn't have time to check those out. Would love to go back some day to spend more time.

I did not eat at the back porch, but we went shopping there! I bought some flags for my garden, they have a great assortment, reasonably priced..I love the environment and they have a wonderful variety of antiques..aust see shopping experience

Such an enjoyable experience. Food was good & reasonably priced, though it took a little bit to figure out the menu & ordering process on this first visit. The back seating area "porch" is on a lake with lots of trees. We enjoyed nature while we enjoyed our meal. The owner stopped by our table to chat & make sure we were enjoying ourselves. I would return without hesitataton.

Quaint eclectic restaurant with good food good service and cute gift shops. There’s an outdoor gift, chef, displaying flags, engraved landscape stones, cute tchotchke, yard decorations.

Back Porch was the perfect light lunch. Food and drinks were all creative and delicious, service was fast and friendly, and the view of the gators in the lake was the cherry on top of our first Florida meal for the weekend.

This review reflects the food. The atomosphere is charming sitting outside on the patio watching alligators in the pond. Great variety of interesting flavors of hot tea, you have to ask for hot water. The fresh iced tea was good. The Greek salad was plain and small. The potato salad was good. The tiny cherry dessert bar was not so good, it was mostly crust with a crust like topping. The store and greenhouse next door are great.

We love going to the Back Porch for lunch. The owners and staff are very helpful and friendly. They have lunch specials every day. Of course, many come there to shop for gifts and antiques. The Back Porch is our favorite place for lunch.

lunch on Saturday, February 24th. The Back Porch had been highly recommended and it did not disappoint. Sure, it was busy on this beautiful day; but service was quick and efficient. Very good prices and options. The gluten free brownie was a winner; and we liked the soups and our respective sandwiches. Easy to self serve drink refills. Employees are awesome, including the owner who we met. We highly recommend The Back Porch, and we will be back . . . on the back porch. . . .at The Back Porch!

Very unique place to have lunch and do some shopping in the little shop. Antique side is not open all the time. I think only Thursday through Sunday Might want to ck the hours to make sure

Absolutely fantastic meal and a perfect relaxed setting. Very reasonable prices and portion size. If we were local, this would definitely be a regular place for us.

It's a do it yourself subset. You fill out your order, take it to cash and wait for your order. In a few minutes everything arrives inside a basket-like container. All food is presented on disposable plates. The soup that day was a delicious Tomato combo. Nice place to visit, eat and relax.

This is one of the most lovely picnic venues I've been to. Yes, I said picnic venue because all the food is served in picnic baskets, which is a fun feature. You come in and get a paper menu, writing down your name and table in the top corner. The price was around $10 and you get to select a soup, Salad, main item, and dessert. They run specials here as well. Put your order in, pay, and food arrives promptly in a basket. They serve nice brunch drinks too like mimosas and really good iced coffee. For a salted caramel iced coffee afterward and it had so much cream and caramel it was the perfect dessert pick me up. Everyone here was super friendly and nice too! Very nice service! Food is quite good, if simple fare, but their specials can be fun. That day, we had a brie and bacon wrap. Mine was melted and gooey, but my partner's seemed to have not gotten the melted part as well. It was all good though and very tasty. After eating, there are tons of gift shops and one of the most beautiful garden centers I've been to with it actually being held up by the canopy of large trees. They have an antique store available on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The porch is right on the water there with a lovely view. The weather was just perfect that day too and it was a lovely Valentine's Day meal my partner and I had together. We'll be back to this lovely location for sure.

More geared for older generations. Looks like grandmothers house with a bar. Food was decent but nothing to write home about. Service was polite. Partially self serve.

It is a wonderful place to visit. The restaurant is relaxing and the food is good and reasonable. The gift shops are quaint and I definitely always find something to take home with me. Always a box of raspberry tea and some truffles too. I have to visit it when we come to this area.

No wait, great service, quick service and around $10 for a sandwich and 2 sides.

We had high hopes for this place, based on the reviews. Unfortunately our experience wasn’t great. They have an interesting concept of filling out the menu and then paying at the register. They bring your food in a picnic basket. Drinks are self-serve. The service was fine, though nobody came back to our table to inquire if we needed anything. The portions are very small. I had the croissant ham sandwich and there were only two pieces of paper-thin ham provided along with a slice of cheese and lettuce. It was mostly bread and not much flavor. Their pea soup was very tasty, but you only get a half-filled small paper cup of it. The pasta salad was very bland, having almost no sauce in it. Their flagship dessert is a strawberry cake that had no sign whatsoever of strawberries visible. I took a bite and no strawberry flavor. My last bite had a piece of strawberry that I spat out and saw was very brown. At this point I just hope we don’t get sick. My husband’s meal was a bit better. He had a chicken wrap that he gave me some bites of and it actually had meat in it. His pasta salad was different from mine but needed quite a bit of salt to release any flavor. His experience with the soup and dessert was identical to mine. I tried to get a Coke but there was no fizz. I’m hoping that perhaps our experience was just an unfortunate fluke, but not sure if I want to risk trying it again, especially since the chairs were quite uncomfortable. Lots of good reviews here, so perhaps your experience will be better than ours was.

This is a pretty cool place. The prices are reasonable and the food is good. Sitting outside by the water is awesome and then you can explore the shops. A good destination to spend an hour or two.

We were out for a day of antique shopping and found this nice gem for a quick lunch. Love this simplicity of a "picnic" lunch with a soup, side salad, sandwich and dessert. No James Beard awards or Michelin stars, but the food was very good and hit the spot. They do have adult beverages available as well. Be prepared, this seems to be a popular spot. I can't take points away from the "atmosphere" because there was a very loud, almost obnoxious" bridal shower going on inside and it was loud...very loud. Even made sitting outside a little unbearable. But that the inconsiderate patrons, not the staff. Good food, good service, good prices. Can't beat that.

A friend and I spent time browsing the amazing antiques at the Barn Antiques as well as the other shops on site. We stopped in at the Back Porch Restaurant for lunch. There was plenty of seating with a nice outdoors area and wine bar as well. They have a nice selection of locally brewed beers for sale as well. The menu was great with salads, soups, sandwich and dessert for 10.99 or you can customize your own salad. They also have daily specials. I chose the soup of the day split pea which was the best I have ever had. Pasta salad and a chicken salad croissant. The dessert was small but plenty to top off the.meal. the food was delivered to the table in an adorable picnic basket.

The food was tasty but extremely small portions. We were charged .1.75 for each cup of water from the soda machine. The place is great to take pictures.

This restaurant is very special kind of like out in the country very quiet and clean every person that I came in contact with that works there were very professional and showed me much Hospitality I felt very comfortable I am a man that was there by myself so I was a little uncomfortable they made me feel comfortable. I had the garden Burger and coleslaw and I had to try the strawberry soup it was so good and then I could not leave without taking a piece of their apple toffee cake home it was so good I will be back.

The food is pretty simple, but it's enjoyed in a garden themed atmosphere. The teas are delicious.

Loved this place... quaint and quiet! Nestled on a back Floridian road in the Lake Alfred area. We toured the property and shops and had a totally surprising picnic lunch in the by the water delivered to our table in a "pic-a-nic basket" the food was delicious and flavorful and included soup, salad, entree and even dessert! 😋 The shops were lovely as well as the nursery and the employee we're nice as well! 😉 You actually take a paper menu and check off your choices and hand it in ( reminiscent of school days 😏 ) be sure to remember The Back Porch closes at 3pm 🥺

This place is so freaking adorable. I love the atmosphere. They have an antique shop connected and a little garden shop too. Such a unique place that I'm so happy I came across. The food was decent, the service was amazing. Such friendly staff. Can definitely tell it's family owned and run.

My wife and I was driving on I-4 and decided to take the lake Alfred exit to get some breakfast and I am glad we did. Great place to eat. The owner came by the table to speak to us and just very friendly. We are eating right now so let us get back to our food. 😀

Out of the way place in Lake Alfred, tons of collectibles and antiques. Excellent restaurant with small but excellent menu with unique ordering system. They have a new pulled pork BBQ sandwich, great place to spend the afternoon.

We have loved going to the Back Porch restaurant for years! The atmosphere is wonderful with options for eating inside, or on the porch! The food is great and the portion sizes are large. I am always full after eating lunch at this amazing restaurant.

The gluten free bread isn't fit to use as bird food. It's so dry and tasteless it's inedible even with loads of mayo. With all the wonderful gluten free breads on the market I don't understand why they can't choose one that tastes good, is moist, and enjoyable to eat. Most are kept in the freezer section so the excuse, that I've heard from other places, that it goes bad too fast isn't going to fly. I cannot eat dairy so wrote on my menu order to please put two packs of mayo on the side instead of the horseradish sauce that comes with the roast beef sandwich and my request was completely ignored. I had to go find someone to get a couple of packs of mayo and it wasn't easy because they seemed to have all disappeared. The wait staff seem surly and don't seem to like working there so it makes it seem like you're really bothering them when you need something after they drop off your box of lunch. My next hurdle was finding something decaf to drink. Last time I ate there they had herbal tea inside, and actually told me they always have a decaf herbal tea option available ... well not anymore I guess. I kept getting offered decaf coffee, but just wanted some herbal iced tea. I ended up with water. By the time I got my mayo on my sandwich and an ice water the two other people eating with me had finished their meal and I had to eat alone. The amount of roast beef on the sandwich was very meager. I try to support local businesses, but this place charges quite a bit for not much. I'd much rather eat at home, or somewhere else, which I'm sure they would appreciate since they seem to be annoyed by having to deal with customers.

Nice place to grab a bite to eat while others shop for seasonal decorations. I remember coming here as a kid and getting their "Teddy Bear Picnic". Now several decades later Im partial to their BBQ or turkey sandwiches. Mostly groups of women that eat here, but never once felt out of place here, even if I'm one of the only guys here. Really kid friendly, also. Little ones in the family like when I take them to the little dock to look for turtles or alligators.

WHAT A DELIGHT . . . to finally be able to visit this quaint & charming place. First a walk in their decorated for Halloween garden/yard art area. Next to the dock to feed the soft shelled turtles and fish - so many, so (seemingly) hungry! The weather was great so we ate outside. Food tasty but nothing extra special, unfortunately. And the children's portions were extremely light in substance. But we made do and I would return again but more prepared with extra food for the kiddos. *** Visited here for lunch after a fabulous excursion at the AWESOME playground in downtown Auburndale.

The Back Porch is very novel. You get a lunch made up of a variety of sandwiches, a salad, soup and dessert for $10 plus a drink. Then after lunch, you walk through a variety of gift shops and antique furniture.

Sick a neat place! They have salads, sandwiches, and deserts. They add their own to them which makes them delicious. They have inside our outside(shade) seating. Lots of shopping as well.

The food used to be great. Not so anymore. The potato salad was soupy and tasted awful like vinegar.

This place is so quaint and friendly. Food is always good ans served in a small picnic basket. Menu varies daily, but the staples are always available. Outdoor seating is an option on the Backporch. Year-round wine slushies and frozen lemonade are always an option!
