Love this place! Especially on a pretty day, outside, and with a book.

Had a lovely time enjoying a Dirty chia with a friend. Sat out back with a fan cooling us. My "go-to" coffee place

I can't speak to the food (yet), but I've been here 3 times to relax, have coffee and read. Great funky atmosphere. Music just right. Everyone including the other patrons are super nice and friendly. Oh, and the coffee is great!

Wonderful place! I just go there to clear my mind and settle down. The lady working there is the kindest women. Make sure to visit her shop and take a look around! Her taste in everything is incredible. The art, the items in the store, the COFFEE and the MUFFINS are outstanding!!

Updating review since it's been far too long since I've been here. Originally I also gave it five stars but I never left any kind of comment. One of the things people love to do at a coffee shop is relax, but many are smaller and have indoor seating only amidst a swarm of blenders and espresso machines. Book and Bean is a much quieter and personal affair where you can sit in a shared area outside. So even when the heat index is in the triple digits. Awesome coffee and food selection and great place to unwind. EDIT 2: I forgot to mention that the French Toast Muffin is amazing . Favorite thing to order with a nice cold brew

The coffee and breakfast here is absolutely stellar. There is a sweet cat there named, Boots. All of the staff are accommodating and even the cat is delightful.

Had a great chai here ! Also has a little shop inside with awesome gifts.

My friends and I each ordered a cup of coffee yesterday, sat at the table by the front door, ate muffins, and watched the pedestrians walk by the side of the road. The sun shined around us, and we felt calm and comfortable.

This place is one of a kind. This is the best of Mandeville. If you want a flavor of the town in experience, relations and in a cup of coffee, this is the place to go. Sit and talk with the staff or the patrons, great people and great food and coffee!

1st visit. I saw the Facebook post about the Potsticker soup, and it looked so good. And it was! She was also making chicken salad while I was there, so I had to try it too. It was great. Don't know what seasoning she uses, but it was perfect. I'll be back soon.

Kind of had higher hopes for this place! Love the vibe inside, as kind of like a lagniappe store for goodies if you’re interested in that, but it also did not smell super great inside sadly. Got an iced chai, and didn’t think it tasted much like anything either… Cute place to stop in an look at some goodies or potential gifts but I don’t think personally I’d go by again

I have been visiting this coffee shop for sometime now and I must admit it is the perfect way to start my morning off on the right foot! The staff has been nothing but helpful and always serve with a bright smile .

I stopped in here, because in my opinion, there is not much better than a book store combined with a coffee shop. Very cute. Evidently this is quite the hangout space. Employees are friendly, everything is neat, clean and well organized. Lots of locally sourced items for sale.

Best coffee in Old Mandeville! Wonderful, friendly service, great place to grab a local kids book or rainy day mystery. Pick up a last minute birthday gift and grab a cookie from Cookie Chic if they have any left, they seek out fast.

Great place, we actually didn't realize that we arrived only a few minutes before closing. Service was great, owner/operator? Took care of us, she got us the drinks that we wanted. My wife wanted a specialty coffee and was accommodated wonderfully. We're visiting my wife's son and his fiance, and the next time we are in the area, we will return. Hopefully well before closing. 😁

Coffee shoppe with books , and small trinkets aka gifts and what nots such as candles, custom reefs, local customized gifts and my favorite purchase a silk like visor for yard work, boating , or sun protection in general. They also probably have some of the best outdoor seating on Girod Street in Mandeville. They offer small pastries as well. The entire concept and visited experience is genius. Would refer them to anyone looking for a charming tucked away gem. #OUTDOORSEATINGFAVORITES

Love this place! It's so welcoming and everyone I encountered was so friendly. Chicory (the resident feline) is so sweet. Try the avocado toast if you get the chance. The espresso was made perfectly as well. Will definitely make this a regular stop when I don't make coffee at home.

I had an amazing online shopping experience with The Book & The Bean. I had a gift certificate and was having problems with the check out. I emailed them, and Karrie helped me get everything resolved quickly! The tea I had wanted was out of stock, and not only did they send me a refund with my books, but also extra tea! I would highly recommend shopping here!

Lovely courtyard garden and delicious coffee!

The atmosphere is great. Shopping in the front is fun and sitting in the open backyard surrounded by antiques was relaxing. The iced coffee with white chocolate and milk I had was delicious. My wife's iced coffee with oat milk and hazelnut was great. Prices are comparable to other shops.
