Excellent atmosphere and elevated food but sad that they didn’t have a single vegetarian entree ! Considering they’re catering to the NYC crowd, feels like they’re missing a trick. Hope they add one soon and I’ll be back

I was told that you can not order any to go food from there establishment like my money isn't green I guess because I'm black, African American or whatever else they might of thought but I will never return there I was about to order takeout because I seen a few items I wanted to get I always spent 100- 160 I didn't want to cause any problems so I just left!!!

Food was delicious but definitely a limited menu. The service was only okay. The staff could use more professional training especially with attitudes. A customer should not feel inconvenient or unwelcome for asking questions. The atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The building is adorable but the music was way, way too loud and not fitting. It took away from the whole experience especially because you could not have a conversation at a small table (even with a not full restaurant) without yelling. Lastly, they charge extra for credit cards which was not presented on the website, only on the bill when it arrived.

This place absolutely never misses. So food focused. No frills. Absolutely phenomenal. Anyone who doesn’t like this place is picky and likes to mod or does not know good food. The chefs are amazing, the staff is amazing. We love the male bartender with the tattoos, he makes the BEST cosmo, I think his name is Justin. I eat food I would never typically eat because I trust these chefs and they make it amazing every time !! 10000/10.

We were served a different fish that was on the menu that we ordered without their acknowledgment of not having the fish that we ordered.

Fantastic food, but very limited menu, no ordering flexibility and music was too loud (for me). The hangar steak and chicken dish were so good that we will visit again!

Elevated pub food and inventive cocktails. Bit noisy inside. Got oysters, whipped cheese, steak tartare, agnolotti, and strawberry shortcake. Family also got scallops, which were seared perfectly.

Food is fantastic. Drinks are amazing (get the Dove 4). Service is the best. Place is a gem at the shore.

My first time, and it hit the high marks across the board. My guest had the Spaghetti carb dish, I went for the grilled hanger steak and an order of the roasted oysters. Very nice Pinot Bianco. Strawberry Cake was our closing the night. Very nice place, beautiful people, highly recommended.

This place was unbelievable. The best meal I’ve had in this area in a REALLLLY long time.

Simple menu w seasonal ingrediants. Local customers. Never had a bad meal here. Burger is a “BOOM.” The onions and guyere cheese make it taste like French onion soup. Really good. I asked for medium rare, and guess what? It came out medium rare!

I’ve been coming to The Grand ever since they opened. I’ve NEVER been disappointed. This place is absolutely my favorite restaurant. Period. Always consistent. Always amazing. Great service, drinks, atmosphere. The current menu is one of my favorites, and you must come to The Grand. Thank you for making a perfect experience every time.

Since moving to Neptune City, this has become our go-to hometown date night spot - and it never disappoints. Ever. They are taking great care to bring you a rotating menu of interesting flavors made from the highest quality ingredients. The cocktail menu always has something for everyone. The staff and ambiance is always 100% on point. Honestly, I would eat a burger here every night for the rest of time if I could afford it. Love this place.

This place is salty, complete gag. Ambience was good, pictures were good which is what got us here. That said, sky high prices on the menu, food was meh, no healthy items, and yo - frying everything doesn’t cut it. Their special bourbon drink had no bourbon. All crumbs fam, ya feel? So hey, I’ll miss seeing ya again but all my love for ya fam ✌️

Cozy little local place with excellent food(the burger is amazing!), interesting cocktails and energetic music. Eating is easy, chatting not so much but with food this good who cares. Go!

What to say about The Grand Tavern? Right from out front the place tells you all you need to know - it’s unfussy but bold. This continues throughout your experience. It is so hard to get the line right between amazing food, fantastic service and unfussy, unpretentious dining. But Grand Tavern manage it every time. The signature cocktail for the night - the Dove 4.0 is tequila, agave, crème de Violeta and some lime. It’s bold, uncomplicated and delicious. Getting it yet? The rigatoni with clams and shrimps is a meal in itself. The ricotta drenched in sweet dressing and served on toast is like a pre-desert. The scallops are so soft it’s like they’re made of butter. The burger, medium rare is rich, punchy with the sauce and pickles, and balanced by the smothered cheese and the skin-on fries. And desert is a deconstructed key lime pie. I’ll let you guess how good it was. Service is exceptional, the prices are just the right side of pricey, but still expensive - entrees are between $25-$45, but you’re paying for the best food, drinks and atmosphere in the area. An absolute five star experience. Things to know: the menu is online only, so no paper is wasted - its on their website. Kids are welcome, but bring your own high chair and food- they can’t heat it for you.

Amazing cocktails, great vibe, really cool bartender and kitchen staff working right in front of you. The food is out of this world delicious. Best kept secret in the area no doubt.

Great place to have a great meal. Have been in a few times for dinner and the service, food, and drink have been top notch. The food is elevated without being stuffy. Paired with a great cocktail menu, it makes for a great experience. Space is cozy, but you're not on top of other guests. The team is very attentive and super nice. Look forward to coming back again soon.

The Grand Tavern might be my new favorite. Everything from the ambiance, the exotic drink menu, the food quality and the service was just beyond words. We had the Dove cocktail which was super refreshing and the eggplant and goat cheese appetizer which was off the charts. My husband and I just kept saying OMG... as we ate it. We both had the scallops for dinner which was phenomenal. Lastly, I had a delicious espresso martini and even better key lime pie for dessert . Normally we chit chat away as we share a business together and 2 kids so we have a lot to talk about but all we did was remark about the incredible food and admire the staff who worked in synchronicity to give the entire restaurant the best vibe. I will be going back very soon!

Been coming here for few years, inflation has really changed this place

This is a solid place to eat a good meal. They have small bites and regular portions. The menu changes frequently, look online at the menu to make sure they have a dish you like before going. Also get a reservation.

Steak was phenomenal, salad phenomenal, burrata phenomenal, oysters slightly over seasoned. Service was fantastic, everyone super friendly and accommodating. Decor is a bit sparse and shabby chic but likely commensurate with what they are going for. 100% going back

Everything about this is amazing! The open kitchen is beautiful and the staff is so personable and friendly! Makes the experience even that much better! And the food!!! Amazing 🤩 no other words. Definitely will be back again and again!

Great burgers, drinks, awesome bartenders and staff, great outdoor space. A true hidden gem off the beaten path!

Food was well done, and thoughtfully put together. The sautéed shrimp appetizer was spicy and savory and the drinks were very good. Service made it a bad experience, unfortunately. For the reputation and prices, you shouldn’t receive better service at dive bars. Our group was the last one of the night, and while we certainly lingered, it was poorly handled by the waitstaff that was clearly begging to get home and very much wanted us to feel sorry for them for their time as we prepared to tip the staff and head home. There’s just a certain way to host people, and Grand Tavern didn’t grasp that tonight. Would not go back due to the price gouging : guilty looks ratio.

Omg! Amazing food, superb meals! We just moved to 6th Ave in Neptune and this place is down the road. You may think the prices are high, but jeez! You get what you pay for and this some Outstanding cuisine!!!! Located up on 6th Ave, Neptune, close to the NJT railroad tracks.

Food was fantastic and atmosphere perfect! Missed on the Luxardo cherries for my Old Fashioned but many establishments do. Orange peels were added.

Great unassuming cozy little spot. Wonderfully prepared unique offerings, and bartenders who know how to make proper cocktails. Dress, I'd say is clean casual. The food and drink are delicious but with that said be ready to pay for what you get. Servers & bartenders are competent but can be aloof more often than not. As it's a small place even for the bar, reservations are recommended if not required.

KITCHEN CLOSES AT 9:00pm!!! Google maps said it closed at 10 pm. We got there 9:30, the waitress walked past us with three hot entrees and said the kitchen closed half hour before. We were turned away. Smelled good though!

Nice outdoor garden seating and well prepared and plated food was overshadowed by the surely "take it or leave it" attitudes, very limited menu and serious overpricing, with no lesser options. A ruined opportunity to cultivate new customers and their extensive network of friends and families

Very nice people, food was very expensive and was a london Broil ,for 100 dollars , sliced up and served, naked and tough, and over cooked ,but they were very nice, About the bland food ,and bad experience, Clueless. I WAS not happy !

The food is delicious & service was good! Prices are high, we were a party of 5 no drinks 3 burgers 2 meals bill was $240. Just be mindful that the music they have playing is a little loud. We had to raise our voices a loud and lean towards each other to have a conversation amongst family and friends. So if you’re trying to spend some quality time with family around the table, it may not be the restaurant for you.

You want high quality food, attentive service and top notch mixologist concoctions? Then The Grand Tavern is the place for you. Menu is perfect, Gem salad is the way to go for starters. Can’t go wrong with any of the entrees, burgers are super. Fries are hands down the best around, hand cut, perfectly fried and seasoned. Don’t be afraid to try one of their specialty cocktails or if you’re a a creature of habit like me, their Bourbon Old Fashioned or Manhattan is crafted perfectly.

I am pretty sure this place is one of my favorite restaurants on earth. I’ve traveled the world and have eaten many types of cuisine. The menu is constantly changing and the food is TOP NOTCH! Also the service is excellent! Tonight we had the sun chokes, veal and steak! All 3 dishes were mind blowing! Our desert was toffee pudding and I have no words! I’m obsessed.
