This is a favorite spot. The chicken sandwich here should be named “monstah chicken sandwich “ it was HUGE. Besides the great value, it was the best chicken sandwich I have ever had. The deserts are almost always made in house and are so scrumptious. Lastly the pickles here are incredible. You must get a side of pickles here. 10/10

Quaint little Irish pub with delicious food and excellent service. Fish and chips were phenomenal, with homemade tartar sauce. Irish reuben with potato salad was amazing. Our first time there, definitely not our last! Thank you, Fin!

Nice small local Irish pub with a friendly but sassy barmaid I'm not sure if she's still there but let's just make the assumption that if she's not whoever they hired to replace her is not coming up short in the sass department. A man can't get a beer anywhere but he will drive to another town if the sass is strong. A real sass queen will keep the patrons coming back week after week. Men don't need beer they need a sassy woman to keep them on their toes. A man who lacks sass is a man who lacks love and a man who lacks love is lost now go down to the Harp and get some.

Wonderful food, service, and character at this family-owned spot. On Thursdays a group of musicians plays acoustic Irish music. Usually closed in August.

This is probably our favorite restaurant in the area. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the food is always next level. If you can catch the hanger steak when they have it as a special you’re in for a treat.

My wife and I went in for dinner. I got a Burger and fries which was pretty good actually. My wife got Shepards pie which came out as a pile of mashed potatoes with covered with chopped up boiled potatoes and gravy . That is not shepards pie! The beer was good. When asked if we needed anything else!, I asked for water. The waitress brought one glass. There was two of us. Then asked again if we needed any thing else, we replied no, just the check. We waited almost twenty minutes. I finally went up to the bar to pay. The place was not busy, the waitress was spending too much time chatting with friends at the bar. It's going to be a while before we go back. If ever.

The best burger I've had in a long time.

We've been going here for many years, one of our favorite places locally, but last nights visit will unfortunately be the last. My husband got the fish and chips, and clam chowder, and has been sick since a couple hours after we got home! His fish wasn't even slightly brown or crispy, but he said it was hot, so thought it was safe to eat. The chowder was lukewarm, as was my Irish Stew, but I asked for it to be heated up. The stew tasted good though. I had to ask for the bread, which is supposed to be included, and sadly it looks like they don't make their own bread anymore. It was actually cold, and clearly store bought, was not the same as its been in the past. We never our got utensils, had to ask for them , and although the waitresses were very nice, the service wasn't great. I went there several months ago too, took a friend who'd never been, and I'd raved about it, but that night the food was also very mediocre, and it was a bit embarrassing as I'd talked it up so much. I really hope they can turn things around, used to be a great place to eat.

We finally went back after a lengthy pandemic .... Loved it, felt at home and food was delicious as always... We plan to visit on a regular basis... I encourage everyone to support this wonderful establishment...! Live long and eat well....

Menu is small but everything on it is a must have. Even the desserts are home made and delicious

Everything you’d want in a local Irish pub.

It is So amazing how this restaurant operates. This is the 2nd time I have come here when online and on their door says they are OPEN ...We get here Wed eve 630pm.. doors locked, no sign ..nothing. smh ..oh well should have stuck to restaurants in Putnam..much better .total shame

Local Chef owned and operated restaurant. Food is outstanding—everything on the menu is prepared carefully and skillfully. Best fried chicken sandwich I’ve ever had—anywhere. Best pickles I’ve ever had, and they are just a side garnish (I have started ordering a whole extra side plate of them). Been back 4 times this month just for the chicken sandwich and pickles, simply nothing else in the region that compares. Good mix of local beers on tap. It’s got that small, family owned vibe which I dig, but the quality of the food sets it apart from everything else. Foodie level quality at local bar prices. Hidden gem in downtown Willimantic—just fantastic quality top to bottom.

Our son attends ECSU and we’re always looking for a good place to take him out. We finally had the opportunity to try Harp on Church and it is our new go to place in Willimantic. Great vibe, great staff, and excellent food. Good choice of beers on tap. Exactly what you’re looking for when you want local and comfortable.

This place is to die for. They've opened limited hours and they have be shortened the menu but the food is out of this world delicious. There is something here for everyone including vegetarians I'm not sure about vegans but most of shortly the carnivore can do well. It is and Irish pub with a snug and it is comfortable and the staff is beyond accommodating and wonderful

It has been a while since we've been able to go to the harp, before the pandemic. It's October and they are open the limited schedule and it's limited although very extensive menu with something to please everyone. As always they are very accommodating and if you want to make something vegetarian it has meat in it unless it's the main, they are willing to go the mile. As a dedicated carnivore I ordered the hanger steak which was undeniably delicious complimented with green beans and garlic potatoes to make you remember the garlic. My wife ordered the gnocchi with squash and asiago cheese. The chef took out the bacon on the menu so that she could have a vegetarian dish. The food is beautifully served the staff is accommodating and helpful. I highly recommend this for a quiet couples or family dinner. The five stars are for the food for the service and for the decorations which are very much a part of this small town thank you Harp on Church!

This place is perfect! Small pub with high quality food and fair prices. This is the only place I'll readily order a burger from! They are welcoming, nice, and never pushy. The place itself is quite small, but you don't feel cramped or pressured to make room. They do take a little longer to make food, but it's always fresh and worth the wait. Besides, that's what the beer is for. There is seating for couples and groups of 6 (like my visit). By far the best US pub I've been to and I highly recommend.

Wait staff is good, food is good but some large portions....bring an appetite!

I had not visited in a very long time. We went hungry and we were not disappointed. The service is fast pleasant efficient and knowledgeable. The food was generous and well spiced not overly salted. I had a hangar steak. Juicy tasty with garlic roasted potatoes and pea pods. My partner had felafel burger ...wow she says. The dinner was topped off with strawberry topped cheesecake and fresh brewed coffee. Don't miss this hidden gem

Omg the food and service here was so good...I had the ruben and it was so flavorful and packed with meat...love the garlic fries too. Finally the pumpkin cheese cake 😍😍😍.Thanks to the chef and all the employees at the harp for a great experience.

This was our third attempt to try this restaurant, twice we went and it was closed, this time they were open. The sign said seat yourself, we did. We were within site of the bar. There was one other table with two diners and a few people sitting at the bar. Nobody came over to our table, nobody came with menus, no offer of drinks, nothing! I finally made eye contact with the bar tender, she turned her head and went back to her conversation with a guy sitting at the bar. We didn't see anyone else working there. This was at 5:30pm. Don't know how the food was, we left after being ignored, it was NOT busy. We tried a different local restaurant, it was great.

Small menu, but all the food is delicious! Place is cozy inside. Servers are very personal. Makes you feel like you are in a Pub across the sea. Wish they had a full bar, but they do have nice selections of wine and beer. We have been here many times. Have tried almost everything on the menu.

Tucked off the main street was a surprise. With limited seating we were fortunate to get a table for four and were well entertained just looking at the collection on the walls. Always wonder how they found such a collection. Service was pleasant and engaged. Love it when staff comes with a smile and enthusiasm. I ordered the Shepard Pie, which I don't find on menus often. It was a well seasoned and hardy meal. My wife had traditional fish and chips and was pleased. We did order blue cheese coated french fries which were a hit and some of the best I have had. Overall nice meal and solid service.

Onion Soup Gratinee was awesome and the men loved the Irish Stew. Another Yelp win! Surprised my local 90 year old uncle with this gem in his town!! We'll be back whenever we visit, and he'll be back a lot before then!!

The food was amazing at the Harp definitely go check it out. My wife's burger was well made. The steak I had was cooked perfectly. And I cannot forget the delicious heirloom tomato and mozzarella Caprese salad. I wish my phone had died I would have some great pictures of the food and the restaurant but you will just have to take my word for it go try

Quiet, friendly, nice selection, good music, nice people

So we spent 10 days in New England visiting family and amazing locales...including Ogunquit, Maine and North Conway New Hampshire. We had our 9 and 14 year old daughters with us. This is the only place they cleaned their plates (They had the cheeseburger and fries...go figure). Great local atmosphere, food, and beer.

Real nice people. Really enjoyed fish and chips. Tasty and crunchy.. The shepards pie is also a winner. Plenty of choices for cold beer and a great meeting place.

I'm not much given to writing reviews of restaurants, but was so impressed by Harp on Church, I felt they earned this review. Its like taking a trip to Ireland and entering a cozy and intimate pub. The clam chowder was to die for, my burger was truly substantial and hand formed...truly high quality beef. My husband's fish and chips was enough to feed 2 people ( which it pretty much did , as I snitched bites from him while he was busy talking with our super waitress, Meghan). He ordered the Irish Fries which were loaded with fresh garlic and chunks of a very mild blue cheese, super yummy. Fabulous find, we'll be back

Local Irish pub feels strangley cosmopolitan for Willimantic. Good fish n' chips, all menu items made with quality ingredients, cozy pub atmosphere, lively musical acts on the weekends. Bigger than it looks at first, seating available around the corner, too.

Hidden Gem in the Willimantic area.....gotta get here before 6 pm or you'll be waiting to sit...great atmosphere...we had their special of french fries cooked in duck fat..AWESOME...also the steaks were cooked to perfection...not a romantic atmosphere and its really cramped with ppl who are enjoying themselves or waiting for you to leave! LOL!

Generous portions. Very well cooked and beautifully displayed. For a place that looks deceptively like just another little bar they've really rocked the upped end foodie vibe.

This place was an outstanding find when my family came to visit. I was looking for authentic food and beer and I found it here. The atmosphere echos Irish pub for sure. It's a nice bar tucked into the center of Willimantic. I loved the Shepherd's pie and the Irish Reuben. Both were unique and great tasting. I've heard the 18 ounce hanger steak is great too. If you're looking for good Irish food and beer please stop here. 🍻

Great service, good Irish stew as well as the Asian chicken popcorn. The best is the duck oil French fries, you have to try it if available.

This is a neat little gem of Willimantic. The Irish Pub atmosphere is accented by a regularly updated beer selection. The menu has everything from simple sandwiches, hearty stews, and pub favorites. If you like fish and chips make sure you're hungry, the portions are extra ample. Also check out the Asian popcorn chicken appetizer, there's nothing like it anywhere else and it's delicious. The place is small and doesn't take reservations so sometimes there there is wait to get a table. If you're not in a hurry, the wait is worth it.
