Best burger and sweet potato fries we've ever had. 10/10 reccomend, if you drive by definately worth a stop!!!!

The burgers are next level. Handmade and served on a ciabatta buns. The service is awesome and they make the best Arnold Palmers as well.

Biking across America, coming from Del Rio, I popped my tire. While trying to figure out what I was going to do, I decided to stop by this place and eat. Got the Devil's Burger. Gotta say this was one of the best burgers I've had in quite some time. Maybe ever. I highly recommend stopping here.

Food was fantastic! They have the best burgers! My husband and I both got the Devil's burgers. We will be back! Worth the 40 minute drive!

What a great find!! Drove by here many times on my way to El Paso and Del Rio but never stopped. Seemed too remote to have good food. Boy was I wrong! They are rated by Texas monthly and Netflix as having some of the best burgers and onion rings in Texas. The only thing better than their food is the service. Tawni is friendly and professional. Talks to you like she's been your friend for life. You wouldn't know it, but it can get crowded too. Tonight they having a live band and dance. Too bad we already had plans or we'd go. Do yourself a favour and stop by. Don't be put off by the rustic appearance outside. You'll thank me later!

Burger was pretty good and the fives were pretty good. If you are hungry and have a while more to drive, pull here and get a cold beer and burger and tots.

Best West Texas food you are going to find while traveling Highway 90. Great service and excellent food. Burgers are amazing, and everything is fresh made and homemade.

I’ve heard a lot about this place since I’ve been here, so I went to give it a try. The place looks like an old gas station, which gives the place a certain charm. The downside, the inside smells like cigarette smoke. The staff were GREAT. Super attentive and friendly. The food was good, the burgers come wrapped in paper for a good reason, they are so juicy the grease flows freely out of the bottom. The fries were good as well, I just wish they were more crisp. Overall, a good place for lunch.

1000% more than you might expect from a tumbleweed border town! Homemade everything full of flavor and enough to fill you up until you get home. Flour chips and Home make japa lenos mayo sauce. super. steak burger. fantastic. onion ring. amazing. I hope I can make it back here one day!

We stopped in while visiting Seminole Canyon State Park, with 2 kids. Staff were extremely friendly, food was amazing, and atmosphere was friendly. Nothing specific for kids to do, but friendly enough atmosphere and welcoming of kids. There are a few kid options for food, but the menu is huge and tons of variety. Drinks were reasonably priced and plenty of beer options. I had the chicken fried steak and would strongly recommend splitting, but it tasted great.

You may not have many choices to eat at in Comstock but that's OK because they have J and P. We timed it right passing through at lunch on our way to Big Bend. Devils, Panther and mushroom Swiss burgers were all awesome. Great fries and onion rings too. Wife's steak fingers were also really good and tender. Definitely worth the stop any chance you get. Staff was also very friendly.

Turkey bacon swiss sandwich and fries.....amazing. Not stingy with guacamole on the nachos. Excellent service. Good sweet tea 😉

Friendly home town bar and grill. Burger had spectacular flavor...bun, meat extras. Beef was too lean for a burger, needs a binder...kept crumbling. Sweet potato fries were the best Ive ever had. Altogether, a great place to stop.

BELIEVE the reviews!! Excellent burgers and super great service!! We started with COLD beer and delicious hand breaded onion rings. My hubby had the devils burger with fries. I had the devils burger salad. Fresh everything. Hand pattied and home made seasoned burgers. Please don’t drive by this mom & pops grill. You will LOVE it.

Staff was friendly and engaging. You can certainly tell the burgers are handmade and the flavors were really good. I liked the fries as well. I had the jalapeno burger which was tasty but not hot. I recommend the short drive to Comstock to check out J&P's.

Absolutely delicious Devil's burger with sweet potato waffle fries. Cibatta bread instead of a bun so good. Service was outstanding, we dined out back with our dog.

Always delicious! Their burgers and okra are sooo good! We ordered ahead because it was dinner time on a Friday and that was a good choice. It was hot and ready when we arrived. Great service and definitely worth a stop if you are traveling along Hwy 90!

Great spot for burgers. Fries were great. Onion rings are #2 on places to get them imo..... they were just missing a little seasoning or something to make them #1. Devil's burger was awesome. Chicken fried steak was ok.. get the burger instead in my opinion. Fried pickles were a little greasier than i would prefer but still good. Wife had chalupas 1 nite and loved them. Chips and hot sauce was great, could've been Spicer but great flavor.

While doing some documentary photos on the pecos river today. We asked a local fisherman the best place to eat in del Rio. His response, "the best place in del Rio is in Comstock, j and p's, get the devil's burger and don't take off the paper or you'll be wearing it" so based on his advise we tried it. I'm glad we did. It was a VERY good burger, fresh made (not frozen), good jalapeno bread and crispy fries. All in all, VERY good. The local guy was right about the paper too... If not for the paper around the burger, it would have been all down the front of my shirt... Very "hole in the wall, out in the sticks" atmosphere, just like i like it. 2 burgers, 2 fries and two drinks..$32.00. Highly recommended!!

This place is the real deal. Don’t be fooled by the exterior. Just go in and meet the nicest folks ever. And please get the burger!! The meat is made by them every morning and the bread is perfect. I have had a lot of burgers. But this was absolutely perfect. A must if you ever pass by Comstock.

I highly recommend stopping by and eating at J&P Bar and Grill! The burger and fries were phenomenal and the fried pickles were absolutely amazing. The girls working there were extremely friendly as well.

Quite possibly the best hamburger steak I've ever had. The neat was seasoned perfectly, the white gravy appeared to be homemade and was excellent. The green beans and mashed potatoes were on point, and the grilled jalapeños were the perfect amount of heat. I almost asked for another piece of toast but ran out of gravy to dip it in. First time here, but will definitely be back.

We camped at Seminole Canyon State Park for 3 nights just before the new year and had forgotten to thaw out some meat for dinner. A lady at the state park visitor center told us about J and P. My husband and 2 dogs waited for me so I got a to go order. They were a little busy didn't have much staff. Making sure to let me know it would be a little bit of a wait, they took my drink order and gave me those. Even offered me a refill once I got my order. It didn't really take too long. The man and woman working there were super nice and working hard to take care of all the customers. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. We both got avocado burgers with fries. They were amazing. The ingredients and cibatta bun were so fresh! We will definitely return when in this area!

If you go there you better be hungry, burgers are a handful 😋😋

Best burger in southwest Texas!

I've been going there for years. If you like old school burgers and this is the place for you. The other stuff is excellent as well. Nachos, hamburger steak is out of this world, chicken fried steak is good, beer is cold, and the atmosphere is just right for having a good time. Highly recommend.

A little hard to spot sign but right on highway. Had burger and beer great. Nice friendly people easy to talk to. Asked about a place to stay in my camper that night and they just pull around to side and stay there. But there was scenic free spot close I wanted to see. But good spot if you want eat and have a few beers and not drive

To close out my time in Comstock, Texas, I need to tell you I had the best burger in my life here! And I'm not alone...voted last year as the 3rd best burger in TEXAS! Do you have any idea how d@#n big this friggin' state is?!? I tried the jalapeño and cilantro mayo cheeseburger with a giant slathering of roasted jalapeños...that they roast themselves! I forgive them for not having vodka cuz I'm STILL thinking about that d@#n cheeseburger 😋❤

If you want milk gravy that reminds you of Grandma's cooking, this is your place. The chicken strip were to die for.

We were told by the State Park that J and Ps was in Comstock, wow, is it worth the stop. They said the burgers were awesome, they were right. But the fresh cut cooked perfect french fries would bring me back by themselves. All veggies were fresh and tasty. If you order the jalapeno burger, it has some heat to it. We will make it a habit stop going forward, the food was that great😁

It is a must stop place if you are on that route/road. Didn't except to find such awesome quality food in place where you have only 1 eatery. As a tourist, it was a really pleasant find. Though it may look like a small size establishment from outside, service and food quality would give run to any well established restaurants in big city. Note: Do not go by look of bread they use. You will be pleasantly surprised how wonderful it taste.

We are over the road truck drivers and we were looking for someplace to have dinner, we came up on J and P Bar and Grill and my husband and I were utterly amazed at their hospitality, It's Thanksgiving Day and they were having their Thanksgiving Dinner, we were welcomed in and treated like friends and family from everyone inside the grill..We can honestly say yes, there are caring and thoughtful Americans still left out in this cruel world..we ate Amazing food with some Amazing people, Thank you so much Jason and his family for the food, amazing hospitality and the warm feeling we felt as we walked out the door..We were truly blessed

Service says it all. 3 stars due to the wait staff losing our order AND having us wait over 1 1/2 hours for our order. There were only 4 in our party and only 2 other tables with patrons. Nothing crazy ordered, just burgers off the menu. Food it self was exceptional, especially the onion rings. after waiting and hour we asked wait staff where our food was. This is when we found out that our order had been "misplaced". Come on you're not that busy!! Perhaps they were too distracted by the conversation they were involved in, who knows. Good food, average service.

My whole family enjoys this place!! We are from Odessa and after a long drive heading to the lake this place is where we look forward to enjoying dinner on Friday nights. The staff is friendly and the food is fantastic..

Do not pass up this Texas bucket list wortht and unassuming metal building off Hwy 90 in the quaint town of Comstock. We tried both the Devil Burger and Patty Melt and both hit 5 star marks! Presentation, Flavor and Quality ingredients will make this stop an memorable addition to your bucket-list.

This little restaurant served one of the best mushroom Swiss burgers I ever ate!! The meat was outstanding, the ciabatta bun was soft and perfectly heated, the French fries are fresh-cut and the onion rings were crispy with a perfect batter! I wish it wasn't so far away!!
