Got the eggs benedict and the very berry french toast. Food was incredible and we enjoyed looking at the art on the walls. One of the best breakfasts I have ever had

I Ordered take out for the family . Was fresh, still hot and nothing was soggy. Excellent quality of food- the cheesy potatoes were delicious ! Fruit side was so fresh, omlets and eggs were very tasty ! Best in town - tried them all.

The food was excellent. Our male server did not even introduce himself to us. While pouring us more coffee he poured it all over the cup in the table and did not even bother to wipe it up. I would go back there again, but I would ask for a different server.

Had a pretty good breakfast this morning. Breakfast sandwich was good but croissant did not taste homemade as advertised. Pancakes are quite large and tasty. We both enjoyed the hash brown casserole. Wish they had a better quality sausage patty. Would definitely return if in the area and try some of the other interesting options. Annie

We stayed in Sarasota for the 2024 Youth Rowing Nationals in early June and after several days of hotel breakfast, the rowers wanted something a little more special along with “really good eggs”. Worried about a huge wait on Saturday morning, I stopped in and put my name in for our large party. I was greeted happily and the hostesses had no issues accommodating our party of 11 and went right away to put the tables together while we drove to the hotel to get the rowers. The staff might not have been used to the appetites of 9 teenage athletes but our server was fantastic—patient and friendly. She answered every question, brought every extra bacon order (and there were a lot) and gave plenty of insight to help the kids make their decisions and be pleased with their orders. Clean plates all around, including from me and the other chaperone. The turnaround for our group was very fast, the food delicious and the way our crew was taken care of was delightful. If there is another opportunity for our rowers to return to Nationals, we will absolutely visit this great breakfast spot again while there! I count it as one of the best meals I had while in town. Thanks for a great start to the day!

The service is the top reason for these 5 stars. I can't say enough about the staff. They were welcoming, attentive, super nice! The food was good. As far as taste, it was standard breakfast food to me at a reasonable price. I got an omlette, but I am sure they had other things that people probably rave about. For instance, I didn't get the orange juice, but they freshly squeeze it. My brother in-law got it and I could smell how amazing it was across the table. They have huge pancakes that I believe they said were a staple for their establishment.

We had a wonderful experience. Everyone there was so friendly. The food was delicious, hot, and fresh. Jordan is an awesome waiter.

This was a great experience!! Cute interior, friendly & efficient server & the food, sooooo good!! I had the Belgian waffle with strawberries & whipped cream. Outstanding flavors & fresh strawberries. Not the kind mixed with the glaze or syrup. The french toast my husband had was great too! We would highly recommend this place on Clark Road! The only negative is that they aren't closer to where we live! We will definitely be back!! :)

Although the food was fairly good, it smelled of old grease. The restaurant needs to clean their grease traps out and or change their air filters.

Just came in for breakfast this morning was just in the area and I was craving breakfast food as soon as i seen the pics online. I asked the server what her favorite dishes were, and we decided to get the huevos rancheros which was amazing. They also offer freshly squeezed orange juice and the machine looked super cool. HANNAH B. or waitress was fantastic and very attentive. Coming from two servers this place was a 10/10 food service and atmosphere was great def recommend

Whenever we are out for breakfast it is a “given” that we go straight to Original Egg (OE) because of their quality ingredients, superb service and fair pricing. The boss is always on site so it’s consistently great. Today our server Dani was polite and professional. She checked on us at the right times and seemed happy at her workplace. I like that atmosphere and love breakfast here! Enjoy!

Very unhappy to see they dropped the veggie burger. That's what I went for and it was great. Hope they bring it back someday.

My bacon was cold.they took it back and put it back on the grill.i couldn't even cut it.it was burnt when they,brought it back.+I asked for poached eggs soft they was rock hard.and cold will not be going back.sought it out management

This place says it closes at 2, but they wouldn’t serve us 1:45. Do, they really don’t close at 2!Hate places like this.

Had a great breakfast experience at The Original Egg. The menu is huge, and the food is tasty! My eggs were perfectly cooked, and the pancake was COLOSSAL as promised! My coffee stayed full, and the artwork was good to look at. A great spot for a solid breakfast. I'll definitely be back again to try a strawberry waffle!

Everything was delicious the service..was outstanding the staff were amazing. Largest pancakes I have ever seen. Outside dining was great also pet friendly if you have a pet in tow or service dog accommodating

Wonderful breakfast place-food is always good. Melanie was our server and she was just lovely. The pricing is fair with ample portions. Recommended! PS the owner is often there as well and she is very nice and hard-working. I like that she is there to oversee things.

I LOVE The Original Egg! I haven't been to any of their other "Egg" Restaurant Locations, all similar in name but a little different, but the food is so great... I imagine it is at all of them! Their portion sizes are great ... except for on their Cheesy Potato Cassarole. They're REALLY stingy on that, like super stingy. And it's pretty much the best thing on the menu, so you might want to order an extra side of it.... for about $5! Their large, full plate Pancakes are just that! They're huge, and take up a whole large full size plate! The service is great, for the most part. We've never had a bad experience here! Good food. Great atmosphere. Great service. GREAT RESTAURANT!!!

This is a breakfast that always delivers the taste. My skillet was full of flavor, and my wife's fare was cooked to her liking. Our coffee cups never ran dry either.

Lox Benedict is always the best here. Great service, excellent food. $50 for 2 people for breakfast is crazy tho.

The Original Egg on Clark Road is one of our favorite breakfast restaurants. My particular favorite is two eggs, toast, bacon, and I love the side of tricolored potatoes. My friend always has the big pancake breakfast with a hard boiled egg and bacon. We always look forward to bringing company when anyone’s in town.

It was our first time coming here. The food was good, but not special. Same with the service.

Very disappointed that my December birthday gift wasn’t honored! Why was it sent if they were “changing the computer system in December”????? When we asked for the manager he wasn’t helpful or even offered a free mimosa for my birthday. Then the waitress had a attitude, brought me the wrong side and my partner was missing toast he ordered. I felt it was deliberate. We’ve never had any issues before but this was nonsense. We won’t be back. Too many other very nice breakfast and brunch places in this area. If you have a club birthday gift it won’t be honored in December. I didn’t expect anything for free but what was sent to me by email inviting me to come in and get $8. off my breakfast for my birthday. If you can’t honor the invite then at least as a business make sure you do something to offset your problem. It seems this owner has an excuse for any reviews that aren’t to her liking. I suggest people read all the reviews and make a decision based on the owner’s negative rude responses. There’s a pattern of not taking responsibility for issues.

I am beyond appalled by the responses this restaurant’s owner gives to customers voicing their disappointment with the obvious decline in customer service this once-beloved restaurant now gives. What isn’t shocking is the way their staff shared the exact same unprofessional attitudes when they rudely stated that the coupon THIS RESTAURANT SENT wouldn’t be honored. Where was the holiday season compassion then? No, “We’re so sorry, here’s what we’re doing instead to help you celebrate your special day!” NOT ONE PERSON even said,”HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!” Who does this?? Then throw in the gaslighting in their absurd response…unreal.

The food was fantastic. The service was incredibly fast. The only downside in my opinion is for the price that you're paying. The portion size is a bit small.

Server MacKenzie was fabulous! Very attentive and kind! I had a clear view of kitchen and one of the cooks was eating while preparing food. Not good! But for the cook and very unsanitary practice, I would have given 5 stars.

Not sure what they put in their hashbrowns, but that cheese is disgusting. Tasted like nacho cheese sauce yuck. Otherwise an ok experience

First, let me say that the food and service are always spot on. Atmosphere, however, is another story. The kitchen area is relatively open to the dining room and if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing breakfast experience, you should choose outside seating. The food and service keep me coming back, but staff yelling to one another across the restaurant, loud shenanigans including plenty of shouting/loud conversation and music blasting from the kitchen that competes with the Muzak playing in the dining area can be off-putting.

Ordered classic eggs Benedict that was supposed to have Canadian bacon but instead was served ham cut into an octagon and the kitchen staff decided it was cinco de mayo on Mother’s Day and played Spanish music way too loud that we couldn’t talk and the couple next to us said the same thing

This gem of a place was phenomenal. I came with my 5-year-old on a Sunday morning and was shocked to be seated right away. This is a credit to the ample space with lots of seating and organized, young, fast-moving staff. The kids menu has good options, with a variety of fresh berry fruits as the side (not just melons!) But perhaps best of all is what they have instead of the typical cheap waxy crayons that break in less than a minute…Wikki Stix! Genius. My daughter was captivated the entire time and we are now ordering this toy for ourselves! The owner of this restaurant should get a commission! Our server was prompt, friendly with a nice smile and just the right amount of attentive. She knew the menu and also knew how to talk to a child. The fresh-squeezed orange juice alone was worth the visit. My egg sandwich with ham was cooked perfectly, the side bacon was crispy, and the breakfast potatoes were not your typical heavy starchy side. A trip to the “treasure box” for my daughter completed our weekend visit to The Original Egg. Kudos to this locally owned restaurant with a lovely owner for going that extra mile. We will definitely be back!!

Fabulous. The service was top notch. The food was well prepared. The menu was crazy big and easy to understand. We were there for brunch on a Sunday and it was packed, but the 5 of us only waited 5 minutes tops. Can't wait to try it again👍

Awesome breakfasts & lunches. Ask for Beverley, Mattie, Dawn if they are working. The western omelet is great with an English muffin & fresh fruit. Some times I'm there a little before opening & am never disappointed. It can get busy on the weekends, especially Sunday so do plan ahead. Friday getting my car detailed, a quick bite to eat here and a massage across the street and then the beach. Not a bad Friday in my book...

$5.00 for oj. I'll skip next time. I ordered the steak and eggs steak,' steak was cooked true. I had the eggs poached. They were perfect but there was so much seasoning on the steak. They need to stop whatever they're doing. As much as I could scrape off it's still Had an overpowering almost too spicy effect. Now I know To tell the server no spices on the steak. I'll come again and order the same thing. Just making sure to discuss the stake reasoning and i'm sure everything will be fine.

The service was horrible. We ordered our breakfast and drinks at the same time. Thank goodness because we didn’t see our waitress again until I stopped her to ask for the check. Waited over an hour for the food. Other people sat and got their food and left before we even got our food. When I stopped another lady to ask where our food was, she stated they dropped a pancake and had to remake them. Still doesn’t take over an out to make a pancake, twice. No refills on drinks. Absolutely HORRIBLE experience!!!

The last time we went for breakfast a few weeks ago service was so so but they were very busy and we've been there multiple times and the food and service were always good. This mornings visit food was great per usual but service not so much. When we were sat in a corner by the bathroom next to a large table of older ladies talking loudly not a big deal. When we were finally acknowledged, ordered drinks, and drinks came over and we had to wait again to ask for straws not a big deal. When food was brought over by another waitress and we asked for ketchup and it came much later after our waitress checked on us and we were half done with our meal not a big deal. When we were done with our food and had to look for the waitress to get our bill and had an appointment to get to not a big deal but when she comes back to the table and says (what sounded sarcastically to us)she hopes we make it to our appointment on time... These complaints may sound petty on their own but all together made for a bad experience. We've lived 35 yrs in Sarasota and there are plenty of good restaurants here- next time will think twice about where we go for breakfast.

I’m really sad that I’ve lived here for 5 years now and only today tried this place, probably my favorite breakfast place now! I foolishly didn’t get any pictures before eating (we were really hungry) but my whole family enjoyed our food, which is a rare event. My oldest son said the fresh squeezed orange juice was “bomb” and his Brandon’s Fiesta Skillet rated the same. My husband had the Manasota Omelette and a side of biscuits and gravy and said both were very good. They butter and griddle the biscuits on both sides, delicious! My youngest loved his mini waffles and sausage patty and I thoroughly enjoyed my sampler with a humongous chocolate chip pancake. The potato medley with the different potatoes was also bomb. Mackenzie was attentive even with how packed the restaurant was. We will definitely be back!

The food here was just amazing, coming here on Christmas eve about 20 mins before close they still took us (my family of 4) in and got us seated with huge smiles on their face. When ordering our waitress took her time with us, and our wait time for our food took no time at all (roughly 5-10 mins) When our food came to the table everything looks delicious and it tasted just as good as it looked! Their Belgium waffles with whipped cream and powdered sugar were just perfect, with the side of scrambled eggs having the perfect about of food! The colossal Pancake is just that, it was massive from what I was told it was delicious and the eggs on the side was a tad too much

Given it is Christmas Eve day and the place was packed, everything was good. They had nice options for breakfast and lunch. Prices were average. Portions were good.
