awful customer service. absolutely horrible. employees seem absolutely incompetent

I was so disappointed to have a bad experience here after reading all the other good reviews. Not sure if it had to do with us changing our reservation last minute (36 was completely closed due to an emergency and we had no idea until we left our home), but we were sat in the second room right next to the kitchen which was loud with bright lights and overall just not that pleasant. Service was super slow. We didn't even get our drinks until after the appetizers came out. The appetizers were awesome so I was hoping things would get better from there. However when the entrees came out that were $40+ each they weren't even warm. One of the worst dining experiences I have had unfortunately.

Expensive but worth saving up for this special dining experience. Great wine list, menu and services. Highly recommend for special occasions.

This place came highly recommended to us by multiple people but it did not live up to the hype. The good: fresh, seasonal produce. The bad: our main. We ordered the tri-tip au poivre, which was so tough it was hard to cut let alone chew. The prices for the starters seemed a bit high at $15 for a small plates of fruit and salad, but we figured they could charge higher prices because it was pretty good, it was fresh, and the place came highly recommended. But the math changed with the main course. I felt silly to know that I willing went to this restaurant and paid for a main course that could hardly be eaten. The waitress apologized for the meal but seemed a bit skittish and embarrassed afterwards. She brought us house-made limoncello as a peace offering but I don’t drink. The dessert was comped as well. The atmosphere of the place was strange. It was half-empty but still a bit loud, hard to hear across our table. The front of house staff were short of words, not cold but not particularly pleasant either. The strangest part of the experience was the man who seemed to be in charge, the general manager perhaps. Throughout the meal he was pacing through the restaurant. He looked stern and moved quickly but didn’t seem to interact with anyone. His pacing or his presence may have been why the place felt a bit tense. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place.

My fiancé took me here for my birthday. We were completely amazed with the freshness of the food. I had no idea before that it was a farm to table restaurant until they made sure to explain when we sat down. Very worth the experience or even a wonderful place for cocktails and appetizers.

The food was outstanding and all of the waitstaff was amazing. It was quite busy after 7ish and was a bit loud. There is also a nice patio if you want to avoid the noise.

I had such a great dinner celebrating my recent engagement and masters completion with my fiancee and his mother. We spent about 2 hours there, spent over 400 dollars, just to be told to leave because there was another reservation waiting. This waiter did not come to our table once so I had no idea who he was. He did not ask how the dinner was, did not ask how the service was, nor even tell us in a nice way that another party was waiting. We were actually just about to get up to leave but I was shocked by how inconsiderate he was to customers that just spent a lot of money to dine there. No one told us there was a time limit (some restaurants do which I understand why!)... but I think a "fancy", expensive restaurant usually takes 2 hours anyways! The drinks and food do not come out fast because they are finely curated. Really stinks when the food/drinks left a great taste, but the waiter with zero table manors left a bad taste in my mouth for the Plimoth. Although the food and drinks were incredible, I cannot fathom spending that much money again on a place that has workers like that.

After reading very positive reviews, we decided to give the Plimoth a try. We were blown away. More than any other place we've been in 10 years here in Denver, it reminded us of the great neighborhood restaurants we enjoyed when we lived in San Francisco. Great atmosphere. Very interesting wine list. Attentive and fun service. And outstanding food. Great execution for a very reasonable price (i.e., superior value). Can't wait to come back again. They say that every night at a restaurant is like live theater - you have to get it right the first time. By that standard, the Plimoth deserves a Tony.

Hands down the best introduction to this areas dining. The flavors were perfect. Fresh ingredients, impeccable service from all staff...I will be back time and time again.

Love the location- a little north of City Park Golf Course, nestled in a neighborhood area between York street and Colorado Blvd. The restaurant was definitely loud, but the building is an open floor plan. Very good local, seasonal food.

I rate this more a 3.5. The service was amazing up til then end when I was ready to checkout. It took a while for someone to come back around. Their food was decent. Fish was a little dry and potato salad was a little flat. The concept of locally sourced food is amazing with new menu options often. Presentation was beautiful. For the price, I expected flavor. I can’t say I’d ever go back again.

Lovely and knowledgeable staff. It's a cute space with a beautiful patio. It is tucked into a cool neighborhood. The food is good and expensive for the whole experience and quality. They are in competition with many other "new American" farm-to-table type spots in Denver.

One of the best dining experiences I have had in Denver. The bartender Melody made phenomenal drinks. Food was delicious. The potato gnocchi might have been the best thing I’ve ever eaten. After a 4 months break we were finally back at The Plimoth. Food and drinks were excellent as always and Matt provided awesome service.

Just had a great date night dinner enjoying, crab cakes, bison NY striploin steak and scallops. This is a great neighborhood restaurant with fine dining food in a great old building atmosphere. The menu changes every couple of months, so you have to keep going back to see what Chef Josh is bringing you next. Not many tables so get your reservations on Open Table.

We had a fantastic belated Valentine’s Day dinner here. We got the lobster bisque which the chef split and plated separately for both of us and the beef tartare for appetizers. We got the scallops and duck for dinner and it was great with surprisingly large portions. The wine and cocktails were delicious too. Our waitress was really kind and went above and beyond. This is right in our neighborhood and we decided to come after seeing the chefs were from Massachusetts like we are. We can’t wait to go back!

First time here. We had a great dinner date and had scallops and the amazing Bison NY Striploin Steak. Small neighborhood restaurant surrounded by homes in North Denver. We will want to go back again in the future. Can't wait to see what the next bison item will be on the menu. Chef Josh - well done.

Read other reviews on this place and they were all SPOT ON!! What a great vibe and the staff and service was excellent. The food was incredible. We appreciated that the server suggested two starters and sharing an entree after talking with us as she suggested the perfect combo. We loved everything we ate and left VERY satisfied both with the food and value. Well done Pilmoth, can't wait to come back in the summer to enjoy the outdoor space.

Read about this place in a few Denver magazines and read the reviews and everyone's review was spot on. The food was exceptional, the service was personal and intentional. I would say it's a little loud given the small footprint of the restaurant, however, it did not take away from our experience at all.

This restaurant is a true gem. The seasonal menu is always perfection. The Plimoth is our current favorite restaurant in the Denver-Metro!!

Our 4th visit was as memorable as the prior dining experiences. Excellent wine bottle selection and farm-to-table dining selections. We picked one dessert to share and enjoyed our window view.

Every time we eat at Plimoth, we are impressed. The atmosphere is cozy and the cocktail menu is first-rate. Great, unusual selections with a wide variety of base liquors. We had small plates which were outstanding, and the service was excellent. We will definitely go back.

The food here is amazing. Every dish has impeccable flavors. You have to try the Okonomiyaki. The service is also exceptional. Everyone is so knowledgeable and attentive. Can't recommend this place enough.

What an awesome night in Denver. We drove down from Estes Park at a friends recommendation. The food was fresh and impeccably prepared. The scallops were mind blowing, the martinis delicious and the staff was unbelievably attentive, especially Megan the best server ever. Looking forward to our next journey down the mountain to try more delicious food from the ever changing menu.

Outstanding food and service - highly recommended!

I've now been her twice and have had two fabulous meals. The ever changing menu is creative and does not disappoint. The service can take a long time but everyone is very nice. Would recommend this for everything from a date night to a friendship hangout.

Attentive but not intrusive service, and two delicious appetizers, instead of a main (the soup and the turnip in mornay sauce.). I also had baked Alaska for dessert--which was the best I have ever had. Wonderful. I used to go here often, but then the pandemic. I am determined to back into rotation. My friend thought it was better than two other bigger name restaurants she had been to in the last week.

I’ll start by saying, the food and ambiance were incredible. Had reservations for 4, they worked wonderfully with us when we added another during the day. That being said, the service experience was absolutely dreadful. We sat down at 6:30PM. Ordered entrees just after 7PM and the food arrived, including the soup, at 8:24PM. We received zero acknowledgement from our server and when we prompted the manager with the question of order status, he disappeared and never returned. I understand busy holiday season and kitchen and/or service challenges, but all can be satisfied through simple communication and basic hospitality and neither of these were had tonight by the staff at Plimoth. Sad to say, despite the wonderful meals, I would not return here.

One of the best restaurants in the city! Menu is always delicious and inventive. Outstanding service, wine list, craft cocktails and ambience. Definitely our go to - and recommendation for anyone visiting - all year round.

The food is exceptional. I had the chicken. French style Breast. Very juicy, and crispy on the outside. Large portion. My dining partners had “lasagna boat” and rib eye Each prepared so well. The beverage selections for wine and cocktails is vast. Really enjoyed this place

The menu on December 1st was unique to our experience and the dishes we sampled were delicious. While the counter service was lovely, it is important to note that those seats are located close to the front door and can be somewhat chilly depending on the weather. The staff was wonderful and they were more than accommodating for our date night / birthday dinner. We have already shared the experience with many of our friends and family and look forward to an updated menu and our next visit in early 2024.

We were pleasantly surprised to find that the Plimoth was open on Thanksgiving Day since we had no family plans for the first time. As always, the food, service and ambiance were top notch. Really enjoyed the short rib & monkfish entrees. Thr pork rillette was excellent as always as an appetizer and the new squash appetizer we tried was a nice variation on anything we've had before. We sat at the bar and tried several different cocktails. Service at the bar was spot on even though the bar & restaurant overall were quite busy with other diners who had ideas similar to us. It's always a pleasure to come to the Plimoth and this time was no exception. Looking forward to our next visit.

Overall the experience was uneven. Service was excellent. The crab cakes were rich and deftly seasoned. Napa cabbage salad was a tasty large portion. The vegetarian entree was bland. The monkfish entree could also have benefitted from more zip. It came with a tablespoon of “pesto” that should have been larger to improve flavor. One Chardonnay is available by the glass and was fair. Brunello by the glass was medium bodied and flavorful at $21. Two dinner rolls were $9 (nine) 🤨. The ambiance is underwhelming for a $265 meal. Small unadorned wooden tables and stemware. Can be loud at times. Back room looks over parts of a brightly lit high ceiling work area. We have greatly enjoyed summer dining on the Plimoth patio. This experience was different.

We went for thanksgiving dinner a party of 4. We arrived 20mins early and they were able to accommodate us which was very helpful. Ordered items from all sections of the menu and everything was excellent. Small venue limited tables so not good for large groups during a busy holiday season. Tables were nicely spaced so everyone had room instead of piling everyone on top of each other.

This experience was delightful from start to finish! Both the host and our server (Megan) went SO above and beyond to accommodate my dietary restrictions. Truly some of the best service I have had in my 8 years in this city. We will absolutely be back.

What a wonderful evening! Hadn’t been in a bit and what a treat. We were celebrating our 38th Anniversary and our server (Lindsey) toasted us with 2 comped glasses of champagne! Good start. We had cocktails that were well crafted and very creative. We followed the lead of our server in ordering with pumpkin toast to start. It was AMAZING! Any description cannot so the combination of goat cheese, toasted pumpkin bread, shaved brussel sprouts and balsamic. We also had the beet caprese with blue cheese. Equally delicious! We both tried the cracklin chicken and we’re not disappointed. I NEVER order chicken from a restaurant and I would order this one again. To finish the night we had the walnut cake with white chocolate, white pepper and poached apple…wow, along with a good amaro and it was the perfect evening! Cheers, and thank you!

We were so glad to have finally tried The Plimoth! Our server was awesome and walked us through the menu like a pro because I am gluten free. She pointed out what modifications could be made and that made it so easy for use to choose. Every dish we ordered was perfect and our favorite was the big ol' beef short rib! It was cooked to perfection and the flavors were amazing. Can't wait to come back.

Such a cute, intimate venue, it was perfect for a nice date night. The food was stunning, our waitress Megan was amazing with recommendations and service, and the whole staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of. Highly recommend the espresso martinis, was by far the best we’ve ever had. The monkfish was spectacular, the beef short rib fell off the bone and just melted in the mouth. Definitely pricy, but absolutely worth it. Love that the menu rotates based on what’s available, we can’t wait to go back and see what we get next time!

Ah, the atmosphere and the service! Phenomenal! Everyone that we interacted with was friendly, smiling, easy going, very enjoyable! The recommendations for the drinks was right on the money! I enjoyed the champagne as we sat down! The place tends to fill up quickly so reservations are highly recommended! Street parking along - just watch out for the signs. The menu changes often so I am sure next time I would find something else I love! We tried a few appetizers and I loved the tagliatelle pasta. The bread with butter and apple butter was delicious! The entree was good - we got the fish specialty dish (catfish?) But what I was blown away by was the dessert! There is a creme, a chocolate creme with white topping and some crunchies on top that is just beyond amazing! I can fly into Denver just to go have that dessert again! Definitely on my list to visit often! From the people who work there, the ambiance to the food - I am super happy and delighted!

Absolutely fantastic! We sat at the bar and had the pleasure of being served by Melody. She was very friendly and professional. We ate pretty much everything she recommended and loved all of our dishes. My favorite was the vegetable pot pie. So delicious. The cocktails were fantastic, as well. We highly recommend the Forbidden Fruit! Melody even took the time to write down the recipe. So nice!

This is an outstanding establishment. Their excitement for their food, which changes on the menu frequently, was refreshing. The combinations of flavors in each dish were mind blowing, leaving us to wonder how they came up with it. We've been searching for "the restaurant" in Colorado for years, and we finally found it.

The Plimoth is a happening neighborhood place. Much of the food is excellent--truly excellent. Some is just okay. Example: Fabulous roasted squash small plate, so delicious with a green harissa and a turmeric yogurt and mustard seeds, but braised short ribs and polenta, with very little meat--like a tablespoon--with lots of fat and little flavor. Veal scallopine tough with a hazelnut sauce supposedly Frangelico flavored but just bland versus cracklin chicken juicy and flavorful. It is possible that the more vegetarian-type dishes are the most tasty, perhaps because vegetables like roasted squash and carrots are delicious on their own whereas meat may need more help. I wish there had been a little more balance (acid?) in the dishes that are missing something. Excellent wine list. Everything is pricey--over $45 dollars for most of the mains--but, as I am implying, uneven for the price. Service is very good. Noisy. We were with friends and enjoyed ourselves. When we go back, which we probably will, we will stick to the small plates and focus on vegetable dishes.

Great food and service as always! My husband and I have been celebrating special occasions here since they opened 10 years ago. We have never been disappointed. This time we shared 3 starters, pork rillette, roasted carrots and tatsoi salad, and 1 main, cracklin chicken. Each was delicious! We hope to continue celebrating here over the next 10 years!
