This place is an unexpected pleasure. Don’t expect the food of a place that looks like a snack bar, it is much more upscale fair at a good price. Give it a try!

Don’t let the line/wait deter you, the food is worth it. Saturday night about 45 minutes before closing time, our family pulled up to the parking lot to find a line of 5-6 couples/families waiting to order and another handful waiting around the pickup window… We waiting about 10 minutes to order and an additional 45 minutes to get our food; the aren’t slow, just VERY BUSY; the orders were coming out of the pickup window about every 5 minutes. Just don’t expect this to be a “fast food” place; this food prepared and cooked fresh to order. Food items sampled: Kids Chicken Nuggets - these nuggets were a 10/10; hand cut fresh chicken nuggets that appeared to be freshly hand breaded and made to order. The kid left none behind! Ryans Firebird - a spicy, spicy hand breaded chicken sandwich that is unlike any other chicken sandwich riding under the name Nashville Hot. The chicken is FRESH and made to order, cooked with a crispy coating while still being tender and moist with excellent flavor that isn’t just hot. A definite 10/10. The fire dragon convinced me to give it a sample and I was surprised how good it tasted even with the engulfing heat… Mushroom & Swiss Burger - Great take on this classic burger; cooked and seasoned to complement the Mushroom/Swiss cheese and the garlic mayo with crispy onions. I will order this again and again and again. 8/10; could have had a tiny bit for mayo. Pecan Pie Bread pudding - it’s not like the goopy diner bread pudding that I’ve sampled and chocked down because I couldn’t find a place to spit it out… This bread pudding is more like a pan of monkey bread topped with delicious caramel, pecans and whipped cream. The texture was spot on, nothing soggy about it. 10/10 Outdoor hamburger stand with walk up and online ordering. Restaurant only has 2 picnic tables for outdoor dining so this is mainly a takeout situation.

Forgot to take a food pic, hahaha, but this place DOES NOT MISS! I’ve had shrimp and grits (very sweet and smoky), mahi fish tacos (perfect balance of spice and crunch), and a great surf and turf sandwich! Get here early because specials sell out quickly (check-out their Facebook and Instagram)! But the rest of the menu is 🔥!

Service is as great. However, for $40 I expected better food. Sadly, the highlight of our meals were the side items: cheese curds and sweet potato fries. The portions are reasonable, however, our chicken sandwiches were very under seasoned. Although everything was fresh, we left very disappointed.

This is a hidden gem! The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The portobello burger is so yummy. The best I've ever tried.

Shoal shack does not disappoint! Got there just before the rain.. got a cheese burger, jalapeño chicken sandwich.. maybe some banana pudding.. amazing!

The jalapeno popper chicken is out of this world. The cheese curds were perfect. My husband loved the sweet and spicy burger, too. I'm not a huge fan of bread pudding, but their pecan bread pudding was unbelievably good. I'm thankful that my husband shared! We're thinking of moving to this area later this year after I retire and this meal may have just clinched it!

Planning to give it another try. Nothing I had blew me away. My wife's chicken sandwich was great though.

The burger and fries were excellent! Service was friendly and even though I didn’t call ahead, it didn’t take them long to prepare my order. Next time I will order online though and quickly grab-and-go!

Food was Good. A little pricey for what we got!! I would recommend !!

Had the Ryan Firebird. Great Nashville Hot seasoning, not overly spicy but had a kick. Great flavor. Was a good sandwich and worth a stop.

I've been following this place on Facebook for years hoping to get to the Shoals area to give it a try and today I finally made it. It was worth the wait. My Mahi taco was fresh, juicy, moist and the slaw on top of it was sweet and spicy!

I must admit we’re addicted to the black and blue burger and the jalapeño popper chicken sandwich. I’d love to try other things but I can’t resist these. Maybe someday?

Very expensive but had a good taste

Someone working had on so much perfume or cologne you could taste it. Food was good. Nice people, good service minus the smell.

This place is amazing and I mean everything they make. You can really tell there is a passion for serving great food. Best Nashville hot chicken sandwich I've had. Even better than anything in Nashville.

Guy Fieri would have a fit over this food Nuf' said. I hope the owners are crazy enough to open a full-own restaurant someday. It would be a smashing success.

Oh my yumminess! First time getting anything from here and I most definitely will gladly go out of my way to come back. I got the Ruben which was one of the specials and the pecan pie bread pudding. Absolutely phenomenal, drool worthy and did not disappoint.

In Florence for work and after seeing the Southern Living list, I had to try it and I was not disappointed; the service was friendly, and the food was very good. I ordered the Mahi sandwich and finished with the Pecan Pie bread pudding. Highly recommend both! Take out only(as of now), it’s a walk-up establishment, no seating available.

Food is always amazing! people are always so sweet!

I've only been here twice so far and ordered the weekly specials both times. Both times the food was spectacular. I'll definitely be making my way over from Tuscumbia more often, it's well worth the drive.

Incredible food and exceptional menu

Fantastic food at a very fair price. It's not easy finding variation in meals as a vegetarian but the folks at The Shoals Shack have so many options! There's plenty for the meat lovers too but def try the tofu sandwiches and eggplant fries!

I love the brisket taco, minus the onions and jalapenos. The tortilla is soft and the briskett is tender. I wish they would add picnic tables, since it's a little way to drive and impossible to eat inside. Overall the food and service is great.

Order online and arrive at the time shown. The lamb was divine.

Delicious!!! My daughter ordered the chili peanut shrimp noodle bowl and loved it. My son and I got the S&S burger, its sweet and spicy with ghost pepper cheese. Best burger.

Our experiences here have been consistently exceptional—orders are unfailingly precise, hot, and irresistibly good. Exploring their extensive menu and limited-time items has become a delightful journey of unexpected flavor combinations that, despite initial skepticism, never fail to amaze and awaken taste buds in the best way possible. The owners and operators of the Shoals Shack are not just in the food business; they exude a genuine passion for their craft. Their infectious positive attitude and wonderful personalities are a testament to the love and pride they infuse into every dish. As someone notoriously picky and critical about food, I can confidently say that each visit feels like a reward, a paradise of flavors carefully curated. I have been wanting to try this place since I saw it was open but I had forgot about it until someone else asked if we had tried it yet . We decided to make the short 6 mile trip even though we weren’t hungry and see if it was worth pursuing on a day we were hungry. I ordered the chipotle spicy shredded chicken taco (not spicy to me), the braised beef-queso fresco, the pork carnitas ,and the mamas-choice ground beef Taco to sample a variety along with the shoals shack burger , my wife had the fried shrimp poboy and sweet potato fries . I first want to say the staff were friendly and made you feel like you just cane to eat at close family’s home to eat with their great friendly personality’s and happy to be there loving what they do attitudes. Let’s get down to the tacos first . They were all unique and most likely my new favorite place to get tacos in lauderdale , Franklin and Colbert county area , except and it is probably just me , the ground beef taco which was great beef but for the powdered taco seasoning mix flavor . The burger , keep in mind at this point I am pretty stuffed having arrived not hungry to begin with but I bought it and intended on trying it when the craving for a burger arose I’d know where to get one without driving to Anderson Al . It was a normal no frills burger just the normal good ole American style burger and let me tell you , real beef , fresh buns and veggies ( they use the good stuff) . I had to make myself stop eating it after 3/4 of the way or end my Friday night asleep before 830 pm . To the shrimp poboy and sweet potato fries my wife Had , she said the fried shrimp poboy was the best she has had since since we had been to the gulf coast of not better and she never eats a whole poboy at one sitting , the sweet potato fries were as good as any we have had anywhere as well .this is a take out place but we tailgating in the parking lot which was good as we already felt welcome due to the welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff at the Shoals shack .i will provide pics of our food but they do not do justice to the taste or experience we had there . Welcome to the area Shoals shack and we wish you much success for many years to come .

Amazing food. I really want them open a full-service restaurant so I can enjoy it fresh and not in the car.

In all my years of eating burgers I was very pleasantly surprised at just how great the food was here. It gives off a down home good food truck vibe. I had a Sugar & Spice burger. It was completely off the chain and running free. Got the taste buds riled up and the fries were crisp, golden, and just that right amount of crunch. I give this joint 11 out of 10 stars 🌟 because if I could give it more I would. Friendly pleasant, helpful staff and freshly made fixings. Delight yourself, your friends, and your family by dropping by and enjoying some really great grub at my new favorite burger spot in the tri-cities.

This is genuinely some of the best food I've ever eaten. It's made to order so it'll always be fresh. There are times where you wait a while for your order, even calling in ahead, but with how friendly everyone is and the quality of the food patience comes easy. Different and new things to try every week and multilayered menu staples will ensure you never have a shortage of variety and taste.

You can always tell when a restaurant and chef love to eat. The Shoals Shack menu offerings are flavor balanced, bold and very different than others in the area. Other than the culinary daring that they take with flavors, this food is just old-school "Good". Better put, it is EXCELLENT!! From the Brisket Tacos, the Mahi fish tacos, to blackened chicken sandwiches to big, beefy burgers and cheese steak sandwiches, it is all good! Eggplant fries... Grilled veggies on the side if you want them. We've been twice and I'm just getting started with that menu. My wife had the Chicken Jalepeno Popper sandwich and that was unbelievable. 😳 What more can be said. Great job folks! Thank you!

Fantastic food quality- tastes like a high quality restaurant at fast food prices. The cheese curds and so tasty but next time I would see if there were any dipping sauces other then the red sauce. Sweet tea has the great southern homemade taste and chicken sandwich was full of flavor. Great local business.

Probably the best burger I've had in a long time seriously! They ground their beef fresh every day that's a big reason, no hard patties just beautiful beefy goodness. Also, the Buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with home made cilantro lime or red pepper ranch was amazing! Tacos were great too but the burger and fries were 💰. If your around Florence, AL and can get here before 6pm definitely come by, their specials look amazing as well. Also, there's only an order and pickup window, no seating, so u grab your food and go. New in town and decided to give this place a shot. Boy am I glad that I did, because I think I found a new favorite. Had the blackened Mahi-Mahi BLT and I can’t wait to try everything else!

Delicious. I ordered an ahi tuna poke bowl. I hope this becomes a permanent part of the menu, the closest I have been able to poke is Nashville or Huntsville.

My husband loves this place. I finally tried the shrimp tacos and they were divine! It's surprisingly gourmet food out of a little shack. Definitely recommended. I'll be coming back. Everything on the menu looks delicious.

The food here is excellent and consistently delicious. It's more like a food truck than a restaurant as there's nowhere to sit and eat. You pick up your food and go. I highly recommend trying the Shoal Shack -- it's one of my favorite places to get food in the area.

I literally came from Nashville to visit a friend and our only concrete plan was we had to eat here! So delicious! Everything was perfect..but those GREENS!

In town visiting family and friends, looking for a good burger spot since my usual places aren't quite what they used to be, and this place hit the spot! The food was good, the atmosphere was good (no indoor seating, but I'm ok with that), and the employees were friendly and did a great job! I look forward to coming back and trying more of their menu!

I love Shoals Shack! They are great folks and the food is awesome. My 2 favorites are the Bella Burgers and the Steak and cheese po boy! Their cooked onions are so good, I could eat just a bowl of those! Try them! You won't be sorry!!

Kinda strange place. It's like an artsy food truck but also it's got the kind of food soul that food from a place with shack in it's name would have. Everyone working inside was on point focused. I had spicy whatever burger it was alright in about every metric. I had eggplant fries and that's a nice option and they were good. I would have liked just like three more for the price of the meal. Menu is unique. Only had the one meal one day I don't live nearby could potentially be better they're set up for it. I'd go back and try stuff if I could.

Up until today the best dish of pasta i've had was in Lake Como Italy. The shrimp linguine from the Shack beats it! The flavor, texture and mixture of shrimp, nuts and vegies were perfect.
