Eating my tacos felt like Thanksgiving! Each taco is like a little meal of its own. Super great real food. Full menu even late at night. I was THRILLED to be able to get real, delicious food at 1 am on Sunday. Widely varied menu. I had the birria and chicken tacos.

I really wanted to love this place, but it was just OK for me. It is a hole in the wall, but the creative touch of the dollar bills and the small aesthetic wall are a nice touch. The taste of the burrito was just a little bland the rice was not good at all with little cheese and I have tasted better. Customer service was attentive and prices are pretty average to compare to everywhere else.

My girlfriend and I stopped here on a Friday for lunch because she found it on the Offline subscription. We ordered the sampler to get a good taste of their food because it had four tacos, a chicken, barbecue, pork, birria, shrimp, a side of queso Blanco, side of guacamole, side of pico, tortilla chips, and two elite corn. They had a sign that said the margarita of the month was orange Creamsicle so we ordered one of those to taste it. It had a nice ring of salt and sugar around the rim and had a nice little hint of orange Creamsicle flavor that wasn’t overpowering. We were very pleasantly surprised that the four different tacos were excellent! The birria dip was super flavorful as was the taco itself. The shell was perfectly crispy and there was still a lot of meat juice dripping out the sides when you picked it up. The shrimp, pork, and chicken tacos were all equally delicious! The tortilla chips were very plentiful and nicely crispy. The sides of guacamole, and pico were plentiful and had a very good taste and were fresh. The queso was also flavorful and just had enough heat in it that my girlfriend was still able to eat it because she doesn’t like spicy food but she liked this. The elote was flavorful and there was enough cream and other flavors at the bottom of the serving container that we both had enough to dip after every bite. We would definitely come back!

Super friendly, it’s a bar that’s a restaurant. I highly recommend it, there is a superb atmosphere and the manager and the service are perfect.

As we were told when we ordered, they serve the best tacos I have ever had. The place has a friendly atmosphere with dollar bills hanging everywhere. The man who served us was very nice. It’s a good time spent here!

Great music, great atmosphere. Our waiter was great, very helpful, friendly and attentive. We had a party of 8 and everyone loved all the food we tried. Wings, tacos and burritos were all amazing, fresh and hot!

I really enjoyed this place! It was one-half mile from my hotel and it was open until 2:00 or 3:00 a.m. I flew into Orlando Executive airport late. It's not a Mexican place per se, but they have great Mexican style foods. I ate elotè, chips and queso, and three birria tacos. They were all very good! Some of the best birria tacos I've eaten! The service was fantastic. I like the atmosphere of the place. I will definitely go back if I ever stay in that area again!

Came in after the Def Leppard concert. While our server was nice, he got our order wrong, so after waiting 20-25 min we got tacos instead of quesadillas, so he had to remake the entire order and then once we got the chicken quesadillas, the chicken was so dry! that it made chewing it nearly impossible that we had to throw it all out . Two uber trips plus that, made this a bad first experience for us.

Brandon the bartender was awesome. I told him I was torn between a margarita and a mojito and asked what he thought. He said they were both great but he really liked the mojito. I got one and it was amazing!!! Then I got another one! I also got a Tex-Mex bowl and I loved it!!! I am visiting Orlando and will recommend the Tavern and especially Brandon to all my friends. He is great and made me feel like one of the regulars. I’ll be back!!

Stumbled in this restaurant after a concert on Saturday night with my girls. The waiter I didn't catch his name all I know he Said he was cuban but barely spoke Spanish lol but he was so friendly and welcoming. The food was really good I had an elote bowl I didnt think I'd finish it but it was good. My sister has birria tacos and she said those were good. So check out the place its a whole in the wall but cool spot

The food was delicious. We had the Birria melt with potato salad and the elote chicken bowl with queso as an appetizer. The barria melt wasn’t greasy and had great flavor just like the potato salad that was garlicky and fresh. The queso had a little kick of pepper which we enjoyed and the bowl was good and mild but still had flavor which was nice after the appetizer. The server was taking care of the entire room and he was attentive.

My husband and I came down to Orlando for a festival. This place was in walking distance from our hotel. We saw so many 5 star reviews and we were not disappointed!! We got the chips and queso 10/10. We both got the burritos, also 10/10. It's true what they say, it's a whole vibe ❤️ the atmosphere was great. Our bartender has excellent customer service! sad we didn't catch his name. Would highly recommend this place 💯 If ever in the area again we will definitely be stopping by. Didn't get a picture of the burritos but I assure you, top notch. The burritos were definitely filling!

Such a down home type of vibe here. Hella god tacos. Some of the best birria I've had. Plus they have big buck hunter to play.

Awesome little dive on the northern side of downtown. Don't let the outside keep you from coming in. Places like this are few and far in the changing downtown scene. Plus they have parking in case you are not on foot. Excellent, inexpensive Tex-Mex food with a well stocked bar and friendly employees. Don't miss out.

Seemed like it might be nice, but my chicken burrito was 90% rice. Very weird to bite into that. Hardly any cheese, chicken or other items. Also ordered queso, but it was a small plastic container of cheese with some chips. Not worth the price they charged. Place was decorated with dollar bills and in general, might be an ok bar, but not a place for Mexican food.

Stopped in for lunch. Kid friendly. Chips & guac, margarita (so so), Birria tacos with vegan cheese, BBQ pork taco and Birria burrito were all good.

Chase the bartender was amazing. The food was incredible. Not what I was expecting and exceeded expectations. I had 3 tacos and the birria and chicken were fire. I travel for work often and will make sure every time I am in Orlando, the Tavern will be my go to!

Dive bar vibes with great food! Portions were a great size for everything besides the burrito, which felt like mostly rice and cheese, but was picturesque. The quesadilla had great flavor and was packed. The sampler was vast, the elote being the weak link, but the amount of food was more than enough for our party of 3 to share. The spicy chicken nachos had so much cheese and so much flavor! Overall, it was a good experience.

The food was amazing, John was very knowledgeable of the menu and makes the best old fashioned in Orlando. I’ll be here as much as I can!!

I was looking for a place for trivia night and came about this great dive (vibe) bar. They had great appetizers and the drinks were perfectly priced. Overall solid experience! I got the wings and they got it going. My boy Mark was running it and he didn’t miss a beat. Highly suggest here.

Here for a orlando magic playoff game owner clearly not magic fan instead of puting on the home town broadcast he puts on the espn broadcast also has used old dim projectors that are atleast 10 plus years old if I was going to open a sports bar I would have new big bright tvs orprojectors that are bright clearly not in touch with the home town fans btw Abby was really nice if going to watch sports wait til they replay the old tvs and projectors unless picture quality doesn’t matter to u

Really good restaurant/bar tucked away. I had the chicken burrito, and my husband had chicken quesadillas. Both were really delicious. It's a cute hangout for dinner and drinks afterward. I recommend checking it out. Note, limited parking in the back of the restaurant. We will definitely return next time we are in town.

My friends and I stumbled upon this place because there was a Disney themed trivia, and it definitely did not disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious! I got the chicken nachos, my friend got the portobello sandwich, and it was speedy and definitely priced correctly since it did not break the bank. Love the atmosphere, and since it's a very central location, easy to find. 10/10 recommend 👏🏻 Oh yeah, we won Trivia and were gifted a $10 voucher 💸

Wow, what a place, and what a taco. I’ve been to many places, experienced many different tacos & i must say this one ranks high among my list of tacos. Now i’m admittedly not the aloha and omega of taco related opinions, but if you value the opinion of the everyman who eats out a bit more than they’d like to, trust me, it’s a good taco.

Went to dinner with some friends to catch up and it was an awesome time! The food was delicious, service by Mark was fantastic, and they were having a bingo night that we didn’t know about so that ended up being really fun. I would definitely recommend this place

My boyfriend and I frequent this bar a good bit. We love this bar! We live right by it, so coming here is easy, but Mark (the Bartender) makes the experience all that much better. Quick and helpful service. Always on point with the recommendations and is overall so kind with his service. If you’re ever hungry the food is always good, and I recommend the nachos for a snack! One of the best, lowkey bars down town.

The Tavern is a very nice place to stop by for a few drinks, eat some good Tex-Mex and also to watch sports! The service is always timely, efficient, and the staff are always extremely friendly and welcoming! As a downtown resident, The Tavern is most certainly a favorite of mine!

Dined here yesterday afternoon (April 14th, 2024) with my partner who is Puerto Rican. I did not catch the servers name (as he did not give us his name nor did he wear a name tag), but he made a racist/discriminatory comment that we did not appreciate. While I was in the bathroom, as he handed my partner the bill, he asked him, “who is that?” To which my partner responded that I am his girl. The server then asked “Oh, that’s your pick?” I guess to basically ask him if black women are his preference, as if there is a something wrong with him being with a black woman. I did not appreciate this at all. This is very racist and should never have came out of his mouth. Not to mention, you would think me having my arm and leg wrapped around my partner would be a give away that we are together? This further makes me believe he was looking for an opportunity to be racist or discriminatory. You can clearly see we are together. Either way, it was not his business or his place to ask something like that. We will not be back and I don’t recommend this place to people of color.

I stopped in for a beverage and a little bite while waiting to meet up with a friend. The bartender was really cool and the place has a nice vibe, I came before happy hour and had a really nice time. I had a chicken taco and a shrimp taco, preferred the chicken, very flavorful and tasty. Was happy to find a reasonably priced place with great drinks and service while traveling. Definitely recommend. 🤟🏾🍻

As soon as I walked in I loved it!, it was chill, I picked my burrito to go, they made it in like 8-10 min, the bathrooms were clean and the vibe was chill and cool to hangout with friends. it was a little pricey however the food was really good, so it was worth it!🙌 I will definitely go back.

The menu featured a tempting array of tacos, each bursting with flavor and creativity. From classic options like carne asada to more adventurous choices like Korean BBQ, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Chase a dilla is the best food item in town.

If you are looking for great service, laid back atmosphere, great food and drinks, and good vibes, The Tavern Bar & Tacos is the place to be. While here I was served by the owners John and Chase who deliver excellent conversation and energy. The Tavern Sampler is amazing to try a little bit of everything. The elote is sweet and creamy. The pork has a slight sweetness from the BBQ and the birria is well balanced and earthy. The drinks are well prepared too! Whether you are in the mood for a margarita or an espresso martini, they truly hit the mark in their preparation. I highly recommend this spot, and although I’m not local to the area, they do plenty of events to keep you entertained. Be sure to hit up this spot if you are in the area!

I came to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the vibe of this place was absolutely fun! The music was one of my favorite parts here. All the staff that works at this place are very kind and friendly. I recommend this place if you want to have a fun time with your friends.

So the first time I walked in - I almost turned around as it was a dark lil dive with no one there but the reviews intrigued me so I grabbed a table and prayed. Amazingly the food was really good and service even better. This is now our go to when we go to concerts at the Kia Center as we stay pretty close. Birria anything is pretty good. Don’t be alarmed by the dark environment when you walk in or the super loud music as the food can’t be missed!

The Tavern was recommended to me by the front desk at my hotel. As a woman traveling alone, walking into a dark, loud neighborhood dive bar after 8pm was not what I would normally do, but props to the bartenders for making me feel welcome and safe. Only 4 beers on draft, but I made it work. The BBQ nachos were good, and I suspect the tacos should have been my go-to. Prices were reasonable too! The locals know about this place for good reason. Worth it!

Asked for extra extra shrimp and paid for more. Asked for less rice and more beans and said I’d pay more. No beans at all sub par amount of shrimp🤦🏻 I paid for more! The bartender was great and very friendly! The service was amazing! 2/21/2024. I feel bad for the servers trying to do what is right but the fact they didn’t give the quality I expected. Maybe they mixed it up and the extra money I spent went to someone else or they just didn’t care about my request and extra money spent! I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back…..

All I have to say is this: birria melt That sandwich was one of the best I've had in a good while! The bartender recommended it and at first bite, my taste buds were as happy as I was! The Tavern is a pretty cool place to grab a drink with a friend or stop in for a quick bite and a beer. Just don't mention you never noticed this place before because apparently that is an annoyance for the bartenders; they hear it all the time 😂😂 If you like a bar setting, you need to stop in and try their food. I highly recommend!

It was in walking distance food was good and we meet 2 of the owners Chase and John and Perry the bartender OMG it was the best experience ever food was great.
