Am amazing lobster dinner overlooking the ocean. With excellent service and competitive prices. What could be better?

Second time here and the food brings you back! So fresh and yummy! Might have to come once more before heading home 😊

This was the perfect spot on MDI after a long day hiking. We came at an off time and got served super quickly & had a seat. Best meal of the trip - we got the lobster roll sampler & bisque and it was all amazing.

Of the 4 lobster pounds we went to, the lobster roll here was by far the best. Clam chowder not so much. Really wished they were opened more when we were there - the last day we were in town was the only day they were open that week and we would've loved to have had more than one meal here.

First of all….OH MY GOSH, second….RUN HERE! As a midwestern girl who never gets lobster, this exceeded my expectations! The crab roll was AMAZING!!! The atmosphere is so cute! Very clean also! I would highly recommend!

This is a beautiful spot absolutely delicious food and great drinks bathroom 6.2/10 semi pricey but normal for seafood 10/10 would recommend again plan on coming back when I am done in Acadia np... free popcorn is also a very nice touch

It was great sitting outside on a sunny day with a lobster roll and a bread bowl of clam chowder. It was all so good.

The clam chowder bread bowl was amazing!! Highly recommend it. The lobster Mac & Cheese wasn’t for me. The lobster was great! But the noodles were a little over done & the cheese just didn’t have much of A flavor. The best lobster Mac & Cheese I had was from Beals.

This restaurant unfortunately is over rated by critics. Best to proceed just a mile further north for other options.

If you’re there for lobster, this is the place! Husband said lobster roll was incredible! The chicken quesadilla, not so much. Chicken tasted as though it was just boiled and cut up for the quesadilla-no flavor and weird texture. Go for the lobster, but wouldn’t recommend non lobster food. Quick service, cute atmosphere. Kids were able to move around while we ate on some side chairs.

Best HOT Lobster Roll ever and the Blueberry Pie and Ice Cream was delicious!

Nice place and food was tasty. Our lobster roll was MASSIVE! the only issue we had is that there were a couple of older tasting pieces of lobster.

Not kidding but I think they have the best lobster rolls on MDI! Get the classic hot (with the all the butter) and you will not be disappointed! In fact you'll have to go back for another!

This place was highly recommended for the price and amount of lobster meat given. However I cannot recommend because they over charged me and got my order wrong. I ordered the classic lobster roll and they gave me a hot roll. When I immediately brought it back to the window and told them it was wrong he offered to give me a side of mayo. Never corrected the amount I paid or gave me what I ordered. Hot roll is loaded butter on a roll. Classic was lobster with mayo on a roll. Also I felt the lobster was very chewy and tough. On a 10 day trip in bar harbor and have had better lobster. Do not recommend!

Very busy and if you can get a seat at the bar, do it and order right away. The lobsters roll was to die for. Best one in the area/Maine. It was decently priced too. The staff were super friendly and the food from the bar came out fairly quick. The lobster mac and cheese bowl was to die for. Outdoor seating only. Free popcorn while you wait was a nice touch. Would 100% recommend this location.

The blueberry pie was fantastic, I just wish there would have been more of it per serving. Only came for dessert to this place. It was packed, so I’m sure the rest of the menu is just as good.

This place was so good we came twice during our 4 day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Their hot lobster roll was to die for!! Also loved the vibe of the place and the girl working the register was super friendly!

This was the best seafood of the 5 places we visited in Maine (Portland, Bar Harbor). The lobster meats were so good, and plenty of it. My lobster salad was the favorite. The lobster Mac-n-cheese was awesome, so much chunks of lobster. The best surprise was the blueberry ice cream, although the pie was excellent. Our party of 6 agreed that this was our best stop for lobsters & seafood. The clams & mussels were cooked perfectly, not over cooked like some places. Prices are very very reasonable compared to others. Add this place to your list. You will be delighted. There’s always a long line, but it moves pretty quick. The cider & IPA were very good.

Went here twice during our long weekend trip to Acadia - it was that good! Recommend the seafood tower to get a good taste of everything.

Crab roll was amazing! So juicy and delicious. Also got the large classic lobster roll which had a ton of meat, cooked well, and yummy bread. Steak clams were also very good. Seating and parking were a bit tight but didn’t have to wait long on either. Food came out fairly quickly, staff were very friendly.

Good quality. Hot one is really nice. Better than cold ones. Expensive. Line is long. But they serve fast.

The lobster rolls here are amazing! They're huge, packed with fresh, tender lobster, and incredibly tasty. The perfect balance of flavors and generous portion size make it well worth the visit. Highly recommend if you're a seafood lover

When traveling to Bagan, Xiaohongshu recommends this restaurant. The blueberry soda is a must, the lobster is very good and the price is reasonable. Listen to the singer singing and taste the delicious food, feel comfortable

Lobster Mac and cheese changed my life.

Was tasty, i enjoyed lunch. Got a hot lobster roll. Was thinking it would be spicy but it was heated, not hot spicy. I contemplated my life choices as I let the roll cool.

Lobster roll was good but the mussels were not that great.

The lobster at this place was pretty good very fresh, however we got 2 tubs of overpriced ice cream to go and there were 2 long black hairs in the ice cream that ruined the experience for us…very disappointed.

Best lobster roll I ever had. We ordered and split the large roll and it was huge even for two. We had a few others in Maine but this was hands down the best.

This place is amazing. Literally came here ever single day of our stay. The food is great and the cost is comparable to the quantity and quality you get, worth every penny. They also have a downtown location on main street at almost to the end of the street.

It’s the best location to eat the lobster in the town. The lobster and clam are very fresh and the price is acceptable. Also this is the only place I can find the can blueberry soda.

This place is worth the hype! It is truly family owned and operated which I respect. Phil and his family work to serve and catch the food. The food is delicious. I would recommend the hot lobster roll if you prefer steak and lobster. If you want a more authentic, experience get the classic roll. The rolls are packed with meat despite being 4oz. I would definitely come here again if in the area. Gluten free options available as well. Be prepared to wait in line!

Really appreciated that they have a mini lobster roll because I can’t afford the regular sized ones! And the mini still had a lot of delicious meat.

One of our fav seafood places on the trip. Fresh lobster platters, amazing oysters and the lobster roll is to die for. Free popcorn. 🍿 at the raw bar. Definitely recommend.

In the span of 4 days we had 5 lobster rolls in the area and nothing beat this one. They have 2 places where lines form to order with the very nice staff and then lots of seating options to choose from and an outdoor bar. The seafood is super fresh and the lobster rolls have the regular options (butter, mayo, etc.) - we also got a grilled cheese, a hot dog , and the chowder, also super good! Yes, there can be a line but most places have that and it’s goes pretty quickly and is worth the wait!

Best lobster that we experienced on MDI.

Lobster panini was wonderful. Lobster bisque with claw was on point as well. Service was polite and efficient. So glad we found this little place. It’s a gem.

The lobster mac was made exceptionally well, but as one of the people I shared a table with pointed out, there’s always one piece of lobster you can’t get through. Unfortunately that piece was the biggest one. The noodles were perfect, the cheese was delicious, but the lobster was more a texture than a beautiful flavor to complement the dish. I’d recommend this establishment to others. P.S. I was told the chicken bacon ranch sandwich was delicious- but in my opinion, it’s a little off theme for a lobster place.

The server at the order counter was really friendly. Helped us through all the options and had some great recommendations. Once we grabbed our own seats, the food came out about 10-15mins later. We're just visiting, but had lobster rolls at 3 other spots. This was THE best of the lot. I had the small roll and that was 1.25 lbs lobster....wow. That was a lot of lobster on a roll and was cheaper than other places. Well worth the drive to get lunch

Great to be back but disappointed they were out of clams and crab today.. Generous portions, good value, and they serve Udder Heaven ice cream! Can't wait to be back!

I couldn’t decide on a place to go for lobster so I came here based on the food reviews. I am so glad I did! The lobster was delicious. They were so busy, but got through orders quickly and efficiently. Caroline took my order and was so kind. She also got me a drink after I had already ordered because I forgot I needed something to drink. This was my first time eating lobster and Addy helped guide me through it. She was so patient and kind in helping me. It made the experience so much more enjoyable. Thank you girls for making my first lobster experience so memorable! You guys are so kind, even when you’re so busy. I appreciate it greatly.

We timed out just right so we barely had a wait in line. Ordered 3 hot lobster rolls and some corn on the cob. One lobster roll was gluten free. Food came out quick and hot. It was delicious. The gluten free roll was a little crumbly but crispy toasted and soft. Staff was very friendly. There is a discount if you pay cash. Lobster was fresh. It was a great topper to the day and one of the reasons we keep coming back.

We stumbled upon this place just less than a mile from where we are staying in our RV! Best kept secret, local ice cold beers on tap and fresh lobster! The free popcorn at the bar while awaiting dinner was a total bonus!!!! The wait staff was super friendly and food was generous and probably the best on any roadside stop. Can’t wait to come back

The best lobster roll I’ve ever had, living on Cape Cod- I’ve had lots of different lobster rolls and this one was the best! My husband and I got one hot and one cold so we could split and get both! I will definitely be back some day!!

Ordered The Downeast Feast for $124.95, which came with 5 lobsters, 5 corn on the cob, steamed mussels and clams. Enjoyed the taste. It took a LONG time waiting in line to place the order. Just a lot of people there. Be prepared. 08/05/2024 update: a month ago over the 4th of July weekend, we drove from DC metro area to taste lobsters. We liked Travelin. When we decided to drive up again this weekend, we wanted to come back to this place. The line was not as long, and the price was a bit lower. But the taste was still great. We enjoyed again very much!

Wow, did we love this little shanty of fun. Great food, the speed of service was excellent, simple options and the staff was super nice. We had 8 for dinner and waited in line for 10min and then about 15 (maybe) for our food. By comparison we went to a Pier Restaurant in SW Harbor last time and waited forever with OK food. So our last night there, my wife and I went back for a little take out and sat at the bar, had a drink and half doz VERY fresh Oysters and good conversation with the staff. You also get to see HOW they run the restaurant. So overall, a great experience. The ONLY place we visited 2x during our week on MDI. We look forward to visiting again. As my kids say....FACTS!

This was exactly the kind of place I was looking for, delicious and not overpriced. The hot lobster roll was FANTASTIC! I had one at another restaurant that was cold and had no flavor. The small one here at The Travelin Lobster was hot, buttery, and stuffed full of delicious, sweet lobster. I also ordered the clam chowder. Again delicious and the price was great (not $22 for a 1/2 cup of soup charged by another restaurant). My husband ordered the lobster dinner for under $25! It was amazing in flavor and a really filling portion. We plan to go back to Acadia National Park tomorrow. I plan to eat here again!

I’ve been wanting to try a lobster roll for years so when I finally made it to Maine I decided to try this place as it’s the highest recommended place in the area that I found. The prices are high but they are on par with the prices of every other place to eat in Acadia National Park area, which is to say it’s a tourist trap and everything is very expensive. The lobster roll itself was disappointing. It’s lobster meat on a hot dog bun. I don’t know what else to say about it other than I was very sad after eating it. Oh and I ordered a “shrimp cocktail” for $2 which was literally one shrimp served in a cup with ice and a side cup of cocktail sauce. All I could do was make SMH. Other members of our group got the lobster Mac n cheese which was tasty and the lobster quesadilla which looked really good too but personally I would not recommend the lobster roll if you are thinking of tasty lobster salad on a delicious roll. Honestly had the roll been some other kind of fresh roll I would’ve been 100x happier. It’s a fancy hot dog bun.

Delicious food! We ordered the hot buttered lobster and New England clam chowder. Out of this world. We can’t wait until we’re back in Maine to stop by. 9 hours will have been worth the drive.

The long line moved quickly. The vibe was great. The Mac and Cheese was delicious. The lobster dinner was good and we ranked it as 2nd place for lobster dinners we’ve had around the area.

Wish I went here at the start of my vacation as I would have not wasted time/money on other places. Awesome food with fair prices. Highlight for me was the 🦞 bisque.

Awesome place to eat in Bar Harbor.

Food and price was comparable to every other lobster restaurant in the area. Bar server was nice, however didn't notice that her receipt charged us double for their watermelon drink. Price was $9 yet charged $18. When pointed it out to her, the response was that it's been that way all night yet nobody else mentioned it. That makes it intentional. Not returning here.

A friend suggested we go here while in Bar Harbor and we are 100% happy we went! 6oz lobster rolls were amazing and huge!!
