One of those rare finds that is no longer available in big cities. It is a great place to browse or sit and read. Definitely grab a coffee and scone from the back of the store barrista and enjoy the incredible view.

The staffer had a real conversation with me, listened closely then made recommendations based on what I had said, who would've thought!! I bought a book that is making me fall in love all over with the PNW, it's on our coffee table front and center.

Love this bookstore on Orcas Island!! The staff are so friendly and helpful, and there are always signed copies of various books on hand. The coffee shop in the back is just right for a morning cup and a browse of the store.

Really liked this quaint bookstore. I had coffee while taking in the views from the shop and looked at a few books. Their kid section has a sitting area with views of the bay.

Vibes. Such a gorgeous little bookshop, well curated. And could you ask for a more picturesque view from the children's section? Post up in the coffee shop couch area or sit looking out through the window, which has a handy pair of binoculars on the counter.

My personal favorite "best coffee on Orcas". I live here and have tried them all. I always drink either an 8oz oat milk latte or sometimes an oat cappuccino.

Not just an independent bookstore in a lovely little village, this is your favorite quirky loving Aunt’s living room, kitchen and library full of wonderful smells, warm hugs, and shelves full of delightful books. The owner made us feel like part of the family, not just in the shop but a part of the community…a community—by the way—full of artists and authors well represented within in this cozy store.

Wonderful book store with very friendly staff. They also have coffee and snacks. They will gift wrap as well. Some interesting history on the store if you ask. Will stop here again when on the island.

Wonderful nook shop with excellent selection.

Book store was nice but we went for rhe coffee shop. The cashier was friendly and helpfull. The little nook they reserved for the coffee shop was cute. They so had a few house special drinks that I tried. I have the Folden owl which tasted like a bit Spicer Chai latte. They also had binoculars to take in the great view.

Such a fantastic store! I can't resist a bookstore and this is a good one, great selection and beautiful set up, plus gifts and some lovely blankets. There's a sweet coffee shop in the back corner, just everything you could hope for. If this were a Hallmark movie, the heroine would work here.

Very nice book store in downtown. Espresso coffee stand inside is also outstanding with great coffee and small selection of snacks. Place to sit down and enjoy your cup.

Such a great local shop. Find current national favorites and an abundance of local, northwest themed books. You’ll give the space to be welcoming, flooded with natural light, and very well maintained. Be sure to make a trip to the popular coffee shop at the back. Enjoy the splendid view out the back window as your fresh drink is hand prepared.

The owner was very friendly and greeted everyone who came in. Great selection of books and gifts. Beautiful view of the sea through the back windows.

Cute, independent bookshop! Happily surprised by the variety of books stocked (especially gardening specific to the PNW) and art/post cards. The shop was welcoming and well organized - staff doubly so!

They had a lot of awesome books on display, along with thoughtful reviews and recommendations. We came the week before the lit fest and a lot of books were being highlighted. There is also a coffee shop in the back with excellent drinks. Probably the best cortado on the island. We went a couple of times just for the coffee.

This is such an awesome and friendly bookstore/coffee place. The coffee was delicious, they have a vsriety of cool items, great books, and the staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. One of them, Kelly, was there everyday we went and she was awesome. Thanks for your hospitality!

Wonderful local bookstore on Orcas Island. Great selection of books, calendars, trinkets, journals, etc, for a small space. There's even a coffee shop tucked in the back. I buy a book every time I visit.

The ladies who run this place are amazingly friendly, and the gift wrapping is free. I bought myself a couple books and had them gift wrapped because it felt good. What lovely gifts I've given me. ☺

Opened for 35+ years, Darvill’s is an independent bookstore that’s a must-hit stop during every island visit. It stocks all the standards, but their fantastic selection of local island and PNW theme books and magazines will inspire you to explore the area deeper. They have a coffee stand in the back. And the coffee was way better than I expected from a cute spot in a tourist zone. My oat milk latte made with Batdorf & Bronson’s signature blend, Dancing Goats, was fantastic!

I walked into this little bookstore and fell in love. Cute displays and the wonderful smell of coffee from the back. Awesome views from the back windows. I had to look at EVERYTHING. It’s magic. ✨ even on vacation with limited suitcase space, I had to support them by buying a book. Loved the bookmarks up front made by local artists. Staff was warm and welcoming. Cant wait to come back some day! ❤️
