We came on a Friday night for a good vibe, drinks, and appetizers. The music and decor were very nice. There was nothing else to brag about though. I ordered a Grapefruit Margarita with a mango popsicle (additional $4) and an order of Brussel Sprouts. I was told that they would be "browned". The drink came out with an ice cream bar (milky) inside of it which was quite off-putting. The server said that it was because the popsicles were Mexican, which is not mentioned on the menu or when ordering. Next, the brussell sprouts were completely burnt all the way through. The burnt taste was on my throat so badly that I was actually able to finish the ice cream bar to get rid of the taste. I told the server and she stated that she was trying to describe it as such. She was kind enough to exchange it for another dish, because on the menu it states that customers must ask questions before ordering as the kitchen would not be taking plates back. I opted for the Awaze wings, which did not have any flavor and were also scorched. I paid $55 for a drink with a popsicle, a shot, a 6 piece wing, and fries. The food was not enjoyable. The drink may have been if I hadn't ordered the milky popsicle. The ambiance was great though. I'd recommend this spot if you are looking for hookah and drinks.

Very laid back atmosphere, good drinks, and great service! I would highly recommend with a small group or even by your self. Parking is limited so make sure you ask where to park before you leave your car anywhere outside of their parking lot.

Edit Oct 2023. Just noticed that they are no longer an Ethiopian restaurant, but a Hookah bar! But they kept all the reviews from the previous place. Bizarre. Jan 2023 I tried a few Ethiopian restaurants in Atlanta a decade ago when I moved here. Meskerem across the street was my favorite: it was authentic and had a sampler plate that had awesome veggies and beef. When they closed, we tried Desda, but that is too Americanized. Then we discovered Feedel and fell in love. The veggies are still fantastic, but we wish they kept the meat options on the menu. We now go to the one next door.

They make the real deal injera bread, from teff, fermented over night. All of their food is amazing! So unique! Super friendly, hands-on owner.

Found this quaint Ethiopian/Eritrean restaurant in Briarcliff for lunch. The food was fresh and tasty. I loved the ambiance. The space was decorated with cultural pieces and ya girl loved all the plants. FYI the menu no longer includes meat, it’s mostly vegan with two fish options. When we visited it was not busy at all, service was quick. Hubby & I enjoyed our intimate lunch. My favorite was the sambusa.

This place was very good! I’ll definitely be back. I had the sambusa appetizer, the vegan sampler plate and a traditional coffee which was delicious. Service was also great, and a very nice atmosphere.

The only reason I can’t give this place a 5 star review is because I found a loooong piece of hair, that I know wasn’t mine bc I have very short 4c hair, on/in my sambusa (which may have been my wait person’s and not the cook idk) :( I should have said something then and there but it was crowded and our wait person was nowhere to be found and I just didn’t know how to communicate discreetly so that I wouldn’t embarrass anyone. I’ll do better and we probably could have gotten them for free but oh well. BUT BUT BUT this will NOT stop me from coming back 😂 bc the food was incredible. My mom is vegan and I’m vegan-ish so this was the perfect spot for us to check out while she was in town. I looked at the reviews beforehand and I tried the sambusa and the vegan sampler and I was not disappointed. I also had a bite of my mom’s tofu fettuccine and I’ll definitely get that the next time bc those noodles were the bomb. Everything was flavored amazingly. The mule was also very good. I loved the interior design and atmosphere and it’s a bonus that it’s close to my home. Just please, please wear hair nets/caps so that this doesn’t happen again to me or anyone else in the future!

I don't know how this place managed to get so many positive reviews. They are overpriced and the food is so-so. We gave them a second chance, and it was worse than the first time. We had to wait over half an hour for them to prepare the mushroom tibs (which was primarily stewed tomato with a decoration of button mushrooms) and vegan sampler (yet there was only one other table occupied). The server only came once to check on us; he didn't give us the attention I would expect for an automatic 18% service fee, which is not actually "included" in the prices listed, but added on as an extra fee. Be forewarned: none of their entrees come with injera! We had to pay extra for each plate of teff injera (3 pieces), and it wasn't even that tasty (it was too crumbly). On the vegan sampler, the lentil dishes were bland or bitter and the Shiro was room temperature. The only side I enjoyed was the cabbage. They don't post their prices online, so here is an example of their inflated prices: The vegan sampler is listed at $15.75. Looks ok initially until you realize that you'll need two orders of injera to sop up all the food (2x$2.50). They add a 18% service fee to every order, which means you pay sales tax on their "gratuity". So in reality, the sampler cost me over $26! It's not worth it. We'll never return.

The food, waitress, and ambiance were great. 4 stars for the unknown "service charge of 18.00%" on the receipt. When I inquired about it, I was told "I don't know it's just a service charge" and then the merchant receipt copy had a blank line for "Additional Tip". Did something change in the restaurant industry where the restaurant decides and mandates tips? I am aware of this in Seattle and the message is very clear on the menu and other signage throughout so that patrons are aware upfront to avoid surprises. This is a turnoff and takes away from what was otherwise a good experience that I was hoping to own finishing off with a tip.

Only negative is the gratuity was included for a party of two even on separate checks if I could rate this only it would be a 1. Waitress was very attentive and friendly. Adding the tip was the only negative because I would have tipped much higher based on the experience.

The restaurant itself is very nicely decorated and lit, it would be a good place for a date night or a chill hang with friends. I ordered the chickpea tibs, tofu spagla spris, and the sambusa. The entrees said they would come with lentils, but I don't think there were any lentils in the tofu dish. The chickpea tibs were very bitter/turmeric heavy, so if I go back I would want to see if the awaze tibs would be better. The sambusa was great, would order again. The injera was just a little too fermented and hardy. I've had injera from Ghion and Embilta that have had better textures and tastes to them, but it could have just been the batch of batter Feedel used on the night I went that wasn't good. Will update with more stars if I go back and the food turns out to be better!

I ordered the vegan platter. My only issue is that 3 of the items were spicy. I unfortunately can't handle any heat which is very limiting. I shared that with the waitress and I still ended up with the red creamy lentils which had some heat. I complained and the owner graciously gave me replacements. Otherwise the food was really good. They charge you $2.00 extra to get injere the bread that normally comes with an Ethiopian meal at least at other restaurants I've visited. I inquired why does it cost extra and the waitress said because its gluten free. They give you rice in place of the injere. I don't feel you should pay extra for injere which really heightens the experience of eating Ethiopian cuisine. I appreciate the large selection of vegan food. The decor is nice and I love the artwork. I saw broken glass in the parking lot so be certain to place valuables in the trunk and lock your doors. Which you should do anyway. I definitely recommend the vegan platter. And for people who like it hot you will like the platter as is with no substitutions.

I really enjoy Ethiopian food and I'm always looking for new spots around the city. I have a few other go-to spots and I'm adding Feedel to that list because they have a few things on their menu that really sets them apart for other Ethiopian restaurants. First, the spread and variety of foods they prepared for the event I attended were amazing and really gave us a chance to try the dishes that set them apart from the rest. Second, everything on the menu was really good and while there were things that just were not "my" preference in general, the way they are prepared here I would absolutely try them again. As I've said, everything was amazing and delicious but my absolute favorites and what I'll be returning to have are: Feedel hummus, fu'ul, tofu fettuccine, and sagla's spris salmon. These are the dishes that really set them apart and dishes I have never seen at other Ethiopian restaurants. The hummus was a nice surprise since I associated it with Middle Eastern cuisine, but the hummus here made me completely forget that. The fu'ul was another surprise for me, as I don't eat fava beans often so I had no expectations but I was blown away by the fu'ul, it might be by favorite of the favorite's. People often try to do bean chili in place of a meat based chili and it rarely works out well, this is the opposite of that. The fu'ul tastes exactly like chili, a very well done vegetarian chili. I've never seen salmon on an Ethiopian menu, so again I wasn't sure what to expect with the Sagla's spirs salmon. Maybe other meat based Ethiopian dishes since the ingredients are the same. It was delicious. And finally the tofu fettuccine which we had at the end of the meal. Another dish I've never had and was pleasantly surprised by. It was light, delicious, and a perfect end to an already amazing meal. I lean more on the pescatarian side, but the dishes are prepared so well here that you don't even realize that most of the dishes were vegan or vegetarian. Over all amazing experience and I can't wait to go back.

My first time at Feedel Bistro and it is a genuine Ethiopian Restaurant! I was surprised to meet the owner Tamar for I saw her about 2 weeks ago on Channel 5 news. My daughter and I tried the Lentil Sambusa which we really like! Also, we tried Falafel Patties as our appetizer. Our entrees were Branzino (Whole Fish), Shrimp & Mushrooms Tib and the Vegan Sampler. My daughter tried their Habasha Kemem Shai Tea and she enjoyed it. Everything we ordered tasted Fantastic! Although, we live in Marietta about 40 minutes away it was worth the drive to Feedel Bistro and we will definitely come again!
