Excellent family owned Italian restaurant

The best Italian Food in the area.

Always SO good! The owner is the nicest guy, always ensures he says hi to all customers. Waitress was amazing. Cannot recommend enough!! They have catered my work dinner before too and it was all fresh!

First time there and it was wonderful! I really appreciated the owner walking around and shaking hands and speaking with each guest. My husband had the chicken modiga and it was so good I’ll order that next time. I had their special which was a filet mignon topped with cheese and shrimp and crab. Oh my it melted in my mouth. My son had the cannoli with chicken which he just bragged on how great it was. I would highly recommend it! We will be back again.

The food is stellar - I always say I am going to try something new because they all sound delicious but I always play it safe with the lasagna. Small fily owned and staffed restaurant - don't over pay, fight the traffic, GET SHOT, worry about parking and one way streets, to have decent Italian food. Go to Trattoria Giuseppe tastier food, better prices, closer, and you don't have to worry about getting mugged or shot!

Best Italian food I have ever had in a restraunt! If you truly love authentic Italian food, you will not be disappointed.

They changed their shrimp cocktail sauce not as good as before.

I thought I liked Italian food! When I went to Trattoria Giuseppe, I finally found Real Italian food! Best I’ve ever had!!!!!! Excellent!

Had the peppercorn filet. The food was amazing. I'm assuming it was the owner that came out and personally greeted everyone at every table. If I'm ever back in the St.Louis area again this will definitely be on my list of places to eat.

1st time visiting Trattoria Giuseppe, the food was amazing,(to die for) Lori was a fantastic server (no one better) , the atmosphere was phenomenal (transported into Italy). The dinner could not have been better. And it was a pleasure to meet Giuseppe!!!

We will most assuredly be going back! This place has some of the best Italian food in the region. It is a small mom n pop shop in an older building that is a little out dated aesthetically. But the food makes up for everything. The food on all the tables looked amazing. We were in kind of a rush so we didn’t partake of any wines or sample anything else on the menu but what we had was simply fantastic. I highly recommend checking out this little out of the gem! I wish I had brought my phone so I could have taken pictures but that will have to wait til next time!

Service was top notch! Nick was so sweet and kind. Food was phenomenal! The girls and I will be back!

It's a place we didn't find by accident. It's the very definition of 'hidden gem'. Quick and excellent service, the owner went around thanking people for being there. Honestly I'm thankful to him for opening this diamond mine of a restaurant up. Excellent food. It's going to be a frequent place for my family to go from now on.

The biggest hidden gem in Jeffco. Amazing food, amazing people, prices are perfect…I’d argue this is the best place outside of the Hill and would even rival even some of the top restaurants there.

The food is absolutely Amazing! Large portions, didn’t seem like we waited at all. Waitress was a doll! The owner visited our table twice to check on us, everything was fabulous! Im we will definitely go back! I see why you have to make a reservation! Plus great prices!! Couldn’t ask for a better place! We had 6 people with alcohol ( a few drinks total ) only cost $106.00 before tip!

Real Italian cuisine, very delicious

Always our favorite place for authentic Italian food when we go visit our kids in that area. Joe and his wife always treat everyone like they are family when dining there. My husband loves their lasagna and I love their chicken muddiga. We have never had a bad meal or experience.

Quite possibly the most unassuming, underhyped, and yet most amazing authentic Italian restaurant in the area. The food taste and quality are amazing. The portions are huge and the prices are great. Finally, the service is spectacular. Giuseppe made his rounds and visited with every patron, and was an absolutely excellent host. I'm not sure how I went so long without knowing this place existed, but now that I do, I will certainly be back. At my table, we had the Pasta Con Broccoli, the Cajun Seafood Pasta, The Tutto Mare, Caneloni, Calamari appetizer, and Tira Misu for desert.

Fine if you go in. Don’t try ordering carry/out. If you get through on the phone? They act as if it’s a bother. They will put you on hold and never come back and they don’t apologize. They say they were busy even though you can hear their whole personal conversation going on in the background. When you go in to eat, the food is good and the owner is super nice.

Last night was the first and last time. Service was good food not so much. I ordered fried shrimp way overcooked was like chewing on rubber. My fiance ordered the pork chops didn't even finish one. The pasta side was cold.

Best food and folks anywhere around

A few weeks ago we went to Trattoria Giuseppe for dinner on a Saturday evening with a couple of friends. When we got to the restaurant we were told by the staff that they were only serving large parties. They didn't ask us if we wanted to wait , we were just turned away. We could see that there were empty tables. They won't have to worry about me disturbing their large party service again, because we won't be going back.

Great food, but being insulted by waitress left bad taste in our mouth

A great Italian restaurant that really feels like a welcoming place. Customers were greeted with a smile and handshake as they entered and left. Our first visit there, the owner even sat at the table to talk recipes with us. The attention to service and food was beyond what we expected when walking in. We plan to make this a regular spot.

I will never walk back in here again. You people need better service. I drive 2 1/2 hours to eat. You all act like that.

Excellent food and great people.

We all decided on pasta. Holy cow the portions are massive. I was pretty hangry and still took home over half. Complimentary bread was very good-appreciated the butter wasn't hard and easy to spread. Owner came by our table to check on us. Server and staff were all great. Server went over all the specials and gave us space as we took forever to decide. All of the dishes were amazing. Spag carbona was so delicious. I recommend adding the shrimp if you like shrimp-it soaked up the sauce nicely. Do not let the parking lot fool you. May be a bit dated inside but very clean and professional atmosphere . Prices seem comparable although portions more than make up for if you feel they are high. We felt prices were appropriate. Highly recommend reservations-we walked in and were able to be seated but we were there at 330. Highly recommend-we will return

This restaurant is a secret gem! My husband and I had the potato soup. This by far was the best potato soup we ever had, seriously! The pasta is amazing. They have an extensive wine menu. The waitress was attentive and her recommendations was spot on. The owner is friendly and gracious. Highly recommend the restaurant. I also highly recommend making reservations.

Ordered the chicken modiga. Not only was it cold, but it wasn't prepared correctly or by the description on the menu. Neither our server or the owner did anything about it. Chicken was not breaded and fried. The owner said that they do that because people have allergies. Then don't say it's breaded and fried on the menu!

The food was magnificent! Our server was very nice. It took about 20 minutes to get our drink order in, but it was busy so I can't knock it too much.

The food was excellent, great Italian cuisine. Service was fast and servers were friendly and attentive. Desserts are not to be missed, save some room for sure. It is a small family friendly place, makes you feel at home.

A new favorite restaurant for our family! The pasta was absolutely delicious and the prices were amazing. There's no kids menu, but they can do a half order of any pasta or a smaller size pizza! This is a very family friendly restaurant, we have 2 young kids and we felt very welcome. The staff was very polite and friendly. We will definitely be returning!

My husband and I went for the first time a few nights ago and it was great! They were very busy with reservations and were a worker short, but they set us at the bar and the service and food was the best we’ve had in a long time. The prices are reasonable too, which is fantastic considering this economy. We’ll definitely be back!

Always great food and atmosphere at TG. I haven't had a dish that wasn't delicious. The owner comes around often to greet customers. Make a reservation because they are popular!

Since I married the best cook ever, we don't eat out much. When she wants to go out, there is only ONE place this side of the Mediterranean we can count on (for well over a decade) to spoil our tastebuds . Wine selection is well thought out. The beef and sausage is well sourced and well prepared. Thank you Joe and Grace.

Best pork chops in all of the midwest Edit: After frequenting the establishment again, my dad and I had 2 below average experiences. He had the tuta maré, I had some type of lemon sauce breaded chicken. Mine tasted similar to a banquet frozen dinner. My dad said his dish was extremely bland, then relayed this to the waitress. When he told her how bland it was he jokingly said “taste it”. To both of our surprise, she stuck her finger in the sauce and tasted it. Agreed it was bland, took it back to the kitchen. Then when it was brought back, the spice was clearly on top. Apart from this the service was always good. The atmosphere of all the trailer park people getting all dressed up for the big day out is insane and comical.

Had reservation with family and after 1/2 hour the busboy was told to start cleaning the table and asked if we needed boxes while we were still in middle of eating . Definitely felt rushed and pushed out. Disappointed in experience! Food was amazing; waitress was great!

Always great! We've been several times now. My son picked Giuseppe's for his birthday dinner yesterday. The food was delicious and the service/staff was fantastic. The owner even checked on us a few times. Never disappoints.

We had my mom's 80th birthday there with 15 people. We had reservations. Food was delicious as usual. Grace was kind enough to store our store bought cake in their refrigerator. That was the only mistake because the cake wasn't very good. (Not Trattoria Guissepe fault just a dry cake) Should of just got dessert there . Highly recommend!

Best Italian restaurant in the state!! Fantastic food made from scratch. Mouth watering steaks, (chef cut by hand, in house) big and juicy enough to satisfy even the hungriest (or pickiest😉) meat connoisseur! And there are even tasty vegan and gluten free dishes as well😊. The atmosphere is utterly charming, and the staff (and especially the owners❤️) go out of their way to make sure everyone's dining experience is a unique and unforgettably enjoyable memory. Psssst.... Yes, it's even worth however long the wait time may be, if you decide to take your chances as a walk-in customer vs. making reservations in advance, which is highly recommended 🥰.

I had the filet mignon special last night. It was SO good. Great family type atmosphere. Just go you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is by far the best restaurant ever, the owners always great you, the staff is always on top of there game, if you've never been there before, you should give them a call for a reservation, you won't be disappointed.

Long story here, but we visited this place over a decade ago and had a horrible experience. Long story short, they did a lot of little stuff that was annoying (brought dessert first, etc.) But the big issue was that they never brought my meal but insisted we pay for it. So we didn't go back for like 15 years. We finally gave them another shot and had not quite as bad of an experience as last time, but it was enough to cross it off our list for good. Other people seem to really like it so take this with a grain of salt. My lasagna was meh, between my wife and I we got like 50% of the drinks we ordered, and we never got the desserts we ordered. I think that's enough. The owner was a lovely man and seemed concerned, but I think that's enough chances. I hope you have a better time.

Best Italian food outside of Italy!!

An absolute hidden 🇮🇹 Italian treasure. Real homemade food. It will give the HILL in St. Louis a run for their money . Second time here, we brought the family. They were blown away by the food. The service is excellent, the owners are always there. Greeting everyone like a friend. We definitely will be back more often.

One of the best places to get Italian food! The owner is very attentive and friendly. He will walk around the tables during dinner service and converse with his guest. Service is 10/10 never have had a bad experience here. The house and ceaser salads both get a 9 from me outta 10. The shrimp fettucine is hands down 10 of 10, as well as the spaghetti. Overall, if you want Italian, no disrespect to the restaurants on the hill but if you want to save money and eat some of the best pasta you've ever had, come to Trattoria Giuseppe.

Trattoria Giuseppe's restaurant is a hidden gem! The portions are incredibly generous, leaving you satisfied and happy. The wine selection is outstanding, with fruity and fresh flavors that perfectly complement the authentic Italian dishes. The personal touch from the owner, who came out and shook my hand, added a delightful warmth to the dining experience. The cozy and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. I highly recommend Giuseppe's to anyone seeking authentic Italian cuisine at an affordable price. It was a true treat, and I can't wait to return!

Tonight was our first time here. Went for my husband's birthday, a party of 8 with 3 kids. Super friendly, and the best pasta we've had in a long time! Definitely get reservations, as it's tiny and fills up fast. We will definitely be back!

Haven’t been here for a couple of years and for the life of me I don’t know why! Super friendly, great service and the food is exceptional. We must remember to come here more often.

The last few times I have tried to dine in they are only taking reservations. This time, we tried to dine in, the older woman with glasses; brown hair with graying roots and a corpse like complexion asks if we have a reservation, we kindly say no, she rolls her eyes at us and turns away from us. We walked right back out the door. I really loved the food here and the owner is very nice but I will no longer sing the praises of this restaurant and from reading recent reviews it looked like we lucked out.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food, at least with our carry out order, was less than desirable. Side salads (3 total) consisted of brown and wilted lettuce, and they were not fresh at all. Our pasta dishes were edible, however; the chicken entree was the absolute worst. No doubt the chicken breast was boiled, and the sauce was foul smelling and tasting. Again, this was a carry out order, and the few times we dined in the restaurant, the quality of the food was was better, but still average.

What a disappointing dinner with 3 other couples. Of the 8 of us three of the pasta side dishes were room temperature to almost cold. I sent my side dish back and my friends wife sent hers back twice. When they came back they both were not hot like they should be and the marinara sauce on mine separated and was watery. I ordered the chicken moddiga, one of my favorites, a breaded chicken breast topped with prosciutto ham and melted cheese and covered in a white wine lemon butter sauce. Normally the sauce is thickened and hot enough to melt the cheese when poured over it. When my order was placed in front of me, I looked down to see slices of unmelted cheese and a watery sauce and what looked like regular pieces of ham not prosciutto. When I cut into the chicken and looked at the cut piece, it looked like it was still pink in the middle or not cooked properly and the chicken was room temperature like the side dishes. It seemed like the kitchen staff were not concerned about proper food temperatures and sending out food that will not disappoint the customer. Out server was great though and took our plates back to get them warmed up and waiting on our needs during the rest of our stay. The owner came around to shake our hands and then sat at another table talking to the patrons there. The 8 of us all agreed he should have been in the kitchen watching the food coming out and making sure it was hot. Our table was situated in front of an AC vent that was blowing cold air on my wife's back the whole time we were there making it very uncomfortable. Had I known before we left, I would have said something.

This is a nice quiet place, reservation recommended because it is very small. Service was great, food was bountiful and prices reasonable. Nice place for a date.

We absolutely love this restaurant. The service is always great..the food is ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!! The owners are always so appreciative for their customers and makes a point to come out and thank us for coming in! The prices are on point. Probably cheaper than those in St Louis BUT the QUALITY is the BEST!!

Pizza was over cooked almost burnt. Shrimp dinner was over fried. My pork chops were over cooked.

Very well done food with both Northern and Southern selections in a variety of proteins.

The shrimp scampi dish was amazing. The shrimp were tender and perfectly seasoned. The service was good. We sat outside with our dog. The pasta dishes we had were superb.
