Great local Italian place in Freeport area. Delicious food and friendly service.

Dont order the almon pasta dinner. It was void of any flavor or seasoning.

Food is always delicious but this is the $16 steak tips I got for my takeout salad.

This place must be owned and operated by someone who doesn’t need to make money. They have 10-20 empty tables at a time, yet they make others wait 30-45 minutes to get a seat. There is plenty of staff, albeit moving in slow motion, and half the restaurant is open, yet everyone has to wait half an hour. What a riot. I thought I was on candid camera.

We arrived about 6:45 for our 7:00 reservation and were seated immediately. It took about 10 minutes to put in our drink order and was almost 30 minutes before our drinks came. It was quite some time before the waitress came back to take our food order. We waited about 45 minutes for our food of which was barely room temperature, which was too bad as it did taste good. Although they may have had a kitchen issue, the waitress didn't not set our expectations for time nor did she offer us any bread to offset the hungries. She clearly did not keep tabs on our order otherwise it certainly would have come out hot. The pizza was undercooked and placed on a ceramic plate so did not stay crispy. So much for the brick oven crispiness. I will say the manager did come over to address the issue and did comp our entrees. The waitress was also careful to write everything down including dietary issues, such as dairy free, however cheese was placed in the salad anyways. Many of us are in various service industries and are totally understanding of staffing issues or just bad nights. However, there was no reason for not setting customer expectations. There was no team concept and if the waitress was having a bad night then some other people on the team should have stepped up. There should have been an manager in the kitchen expediting the food. Clearly there were training and management issues.

Had an absolutely superb meal and wonderful service! My mushroom pizza was delectable and the whole atmosphere of the place was lively and warm. Service was attentive and friendly. Will absolutely be coming back.

I’ve eaten here several times and the sister restaurant in South Portland many times and have generally been pleased. Tonight was a disappointment. My burrata caprese salad consisted of about one sliced tomato and the chicken I paid extra for was no more than 2.5 ounces but that’s being generous. This is a dish I order often and serving sizes have always been much more substantial. This was not close to being worth the $30.50 for the salad with the chicken.

A wonderful place to eat in Freeport

About 6 months ago I wrote a scathing review about my once favorite place to eat. Luckily I stopped by yesterday and was hoping for the old experience I use to have here, I have been coming to Tuscon every single time I've ever drove by it (I'm in Bangor and travel often some times just for this place) I stopped in yesterday and you guys knocked it out of the park all over again and I was so happy! However, the bread and oil is surely missed...

One of my favorite restaurants!! I’ve been three times now while visiting the area and every time the experience and food have been great. Their haddock sandwich is a 10/10. I appreciate the homemade French fries. Their blackberry mocktail is the best mocktail I’ve had yet! Came for dinner once and ate inside and you really can’t beat the ambiance here. Open another restaurant near the Merrimack Valley or Southern NH, please!

Just ordered take out, waited 20 minutes as the person over the phone told me it was gonna be 25. My girlfriend walked in to the main hostess stand to pick up our one item order and she was informed there is no order or names present very rudely to her. I just tried calling back twice and both times no one answered: thanks but no thanks.

My wife is not a pizza fan, but she said the Verdura pizza she got here was the best pizza she has ever had. My chicken Parmesan sandwich was good, but fries were not warm as our food sat on the counter for a good 5 minutes before it was brought to our table.

We visited on a whim and really enjoyed the food! The pizza was great and the kids really enjoyed the pasta. It's a "nicer" restaurant but is still kid friendly. We would go back!

I ordered the Spicy Tuscan Shrimp pasta dish and the Raspberry Tarragon Martini. Both were made to absolute perfection. I thought I would have some leftovers to bring home, but the dish was so tasty I devoured the entire plate. I highly recommend the Spicy Tuscan Shrimp!

The Bee Sting pizza is hands down the best pizza I have ever had! We just went last night and I already want it again lol. The server John was great and the dining room was beautiful!

We love your restaurant- great meal, but the waiter sort of blew us off when we had to ask for coffee and a desert suggestion, the next time we saw him he came with the check? Maybe he needed the table for your waiting folks?

We visited Tuscan Bistro for the one night we were in Freeport. We were not very impressed with the food. I wanted the beef carpaccio but the server stated the beef did not look very good so the chef decided not to serve it. I ordered a different dish Gnocchi with braised beef which I did not like. The beef was overcooked and dry. The server was gracious and removed it from the bill. My husband ordered the lobster risotto which had a good flavor but the rice was not Arborio rice. The calamari was not crispy and the fried polenta was just overpriced corn bread. My daughter enjoyed her burrata salad with heirloom tomatoes and pesto sauce. We would not go again if we visited Freeport in the future.

The sausage and stracciatella pizza was one of the best pizzas we’ve ever had- and we’re from Jersey! The chicken caesar salad was also amazing and the restaurant and staff are friendly and inviting. Definitely recommend!

The food is okay but we waited for about an hour for all the food to arrive. The chicken masala is too creamy and we didn’t taste the mushroom flavor at all. The chicken in the pasta is bland, too. The pizza crust is overcooked, even a little bit burned.

Hands down the best restaurant in Freeport Maine!! I’m visiting here on vacation and the food was absolutely incredible, the inside was beautiful, and the service was amazing! I had really bad low blood sugar and the host was kind enough to get me a soda while I waited for a table I wasn’t even seated yet! Definitely recommend this place :)

My sister and I go to Freeport once a month. The Tuscan is always our choice for lunch. The food is always very good, as is the wait staff.

My daughter and I spent 10 nights in Freeport recently and we made reservations all 10 nights at Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro. We also made lunch reservations for most days too. If you are looking for fresh, homemade food, this is the place to go. The staff are welcoming the minute you walk in the door. The servers are all friendly and attentive. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. Some of my personal favorites are the crab cakes, the grilled salmon and all of their veggies. They even altered some of the salad fixings to make the salad I wanted and it was awesome each time. You need to try the focaccia with one of their many drink offerings. My daughter's personal favorite dish was the cioppino...she tried many other items on the menu and all were delicious. Whatever your taste is, you won't go wrong choosing the Tuscan. Ending your meal with one of their homemade desserts is a good plan. Their tiramisu and their sorbets are our personal favorites. If you are in Freeport, stop by the Tuscan and enjoy some of their specialities!

Very nice bistro! Our waitress Elizabeth was very efficient and kind! I had the margarita pizza and it was perfect. My daughters had the spaghetti and meatballs and the chicken Parmesan. They both enjoyed their meals. Highly recommend! Thank you!!

Enjoyed my first time here. Excellent service and meal. Our table had the lobster risotto, balsamic 16 oz ribeye, and chicken Marsala. All excellent. The ribeye was outstanding! Perfectly cooked and the balsamic glaze made it the best steak three of us ever had. The strawberry cheesecake and triple chocolate fudge cake topped off the meal! We will be back.

We had the evening specials, lobster risotto and a rib eye steak on house pasta with a balsamic drizzle. They were both outstanding with the wood fire cook on the steak being perfectly medium rare as requested. Enjoyed every aspect of our visit.

The Chicken Marsala (paired with the truffle fries) was the best meal I’ve ever had in my life, and my drink was awesome. The service was fantastic, our waiter, Dan took great care of us and made sure everything was perfect. 10/10 will be returning any time i am in state.

Great service. The food was delicious. My only slight is that the height difference between the chairs and the tables feels odd. The tables are too high for the chairs. Also note that red pepper flakes are on their pizza but is not listed on the menu.

Had to rate a one star because it wouldn’t let me rate zero. Once seated, waited for 20-30 mins for service and got none even though several staff members were going by us and serving other customers and completely ignored us, therefore informed the hostess and left the restaurant.

My husband, my two teen and middle school daughters and I had dinner this afternoon. The meals were not good at all. My middle school daughter ordered spaghetti and meatballs. She asked me to try her meatballs. I had one bite and I wanted to throw up. My salmon and my husband’s pork steak were burned. We ordered 1 appetizer, 4 dishes and 2 lemonades which caused $173+. It didn’t worth the money at all. I don’t recommend.

We really enjoyed our time here! It was our first time in Freeport and this was recommended by our Airbnb host. We felt very welcomed and for a Friday night, we were able to get in on a small table and enjoy the time there. Good selections of beer, too.

Fun, friendly atmosphere right in the heart of Main Street. Arrived at 4 & found seats at the bar. Our bar attendant, Paige was very energetic & welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed the Meatball Margarita brick oven pizza. Extra bonus was the half price drafts & glasses of wine during happy hour. Would definitely recommend.

My friend and I tried Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro in Freeport for the first time over this past weekend. We arrived right at noon and were seated promptly at a table by the window. The restaurant is spacious with high ceilings, atmospheric chandeliers, and a huge bar that takes up the better part of one side of the room. The mood is rustic and reminiscent of Old World Italy. There is seating inside and outside in good weather. Our waiter greeted us without delay...charming young man...took drink orders and delivered them promptly. The menu is extensive...how does one choose? We decided to keep it simple. Sometimes the most classic dishes are the best test when trying out a new place. We both ordered the Spaghetti with Meatballs and I added a small Caesar Salad. The Caesar was crisp with homemade croutons and a lovely white anchovy on top. Our Spaghetti and Meatballs were outstanding...four meatballs served on a good-sized portion of spaghetti with a dollop of ricotta cheese on top. The meatballs were tender and very good...a mix of pork, veal, beef, and crumbs...light and very satisfying. The sauce on the pasta had a hint of fire...probably a sprinkle of red pepper flakes when cooking...I loved the sauce... Pricing is upper moderate...perfect for a weary shopper in Freeport, Maine. I'll be back. Enjoy!

We set out to find Italian on our way back to Portland and the reviews and pictures pulled us to Tuscan Bistro. Over we had a good experience. The food was great, the place was packed, and the service was professional. The bolognese was the highlight for me as it was very rich and hearty. The wine distracted me from food pictures but I have quite a few of the restaurant itself. Enjoy.

The dishes were good overall (especially considering that Freeport is such a (tourist destination). It's a very pleasant atmosphere in which to relax (especially if you've traveled all day to get to that area).

This was our go-to restaurant while staying in Freeport. Great meals, service, and atmosphere. Everything we had was good and we always enjoyed ourselves. Sonni, a server there was someone who we won't forget. She was always friendly, helpful, and had a great personality. If we return to the area, we'll be sure to head back to Tuscan.

Visiting friends in Maine ourselves from the UK but living in France , we were like so impressed with this restaurant, the quality of the food and options available were second to none . We had a lovely lunch and the only sad thing is that we didn't have time for a proper meal as the Pizza looked amazing. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, our server a young guy possibly Joey, the guy is a legend . Super professional, friendly and couldn't do enough. Even if he did aide and abet my friend paying , when I had planned too. Thanks again , America is a great Country, made so by young people like this .

Excellent brunch stop us with outstanding service from Joey in a very spacious dining space. Started with a cup of very good minestrone soup followed by a filling spicy tuscan sandwich with fries. My wife had the Italian toast (french toast). Just right for her and an ample portion. Thumbs up from her on her big city, small town cocktail. We are both looking forward to our return visit.

We came from NYC for the weekend in Maine. And had a great brunch at Tuscan Brick Oven Bistro by the many shopping places. The meatballs, prosciutto, and sandwiches were outstanding—full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The staff were very welcoming. Highly recommend this spot for a delicious meal.

We were looking forward to a great lunch at one of our fav Freeport spots. The service was good. Apathetic but reliable. The food was terrible. Tasted a wine at $14 a glass. It was bad. Smell it before you pour it. The fries were so deep fried they must have been forgotten in the oil. Needless to say, we won’t be back again. Staff stood around talking about staff. Not what I remember from our last visit. Bummer.

Went this restaurant today for lunch around 1:00. Place was neither crowded nor especially busy. I ordered the haddock sandwich which I won't do again. Haddock is a very good tasting fish that requires no more than some tartar sauce, a soft roll and maybe a lettuce leaf and a slice of cheese. This fish was accompanied by an olive, caper, tomato concoction and an aioli which totally masked the fish. Like many restaurants which try to be too cute by half the fish came on a brioche roll. The fish may have been fresh, but my guess is that it was not. To top everything off the fish and the french fries were room temperature, not hot which was inexcusable.

Food was fantastic! Chicken Parm. sandwich, Burgers and Pastrami sandwiches were ordered. Our server was excellent!

the tuscan bistro!!!! slay slout!!! i went there like two years ago with my fam fam and it was gas. im pretty sure i got the pizza!!! also the server we had was rather distinguished!! only down side was that it was really stinkin' crowded. oh well!!

We really enjoyed the dinner we had. Try the Caprese Pizza and the Cannoli Duo. You won't regret it.

Upscale food and service, not only seafood but steak and Italian dishes as well. Excellent wine selection along with a nice variety of beer choices. Pan seared Halibut was delicious.

I always have a great meal here. For desert, the flourless chocolate cake with the Quinto port is a perfect pairing.

We went early in the day, it was quiet and staff was very eager to help! I had a hanger steak with mashed potatoes and balsamic gravy. It was absolutely to die for! Beer selection was good, but not huge. Same for wines, though what they do have is quite nice. Staff is friendly, but doesn't hover, which I like.

Literally amazing. We each shared the charcuterie, each had chicken Marsala, and shared the cherry tart. I want it all again tonight but we have to try somewhere else while in town!

Long wait list, 45 minutes to an hour R with several open tables. Slow service and bad customer support. Left after 2 and hour wait with still no table or service. Avoiding this place now.

This is where I went for my birthday. The food tasted really good, especially the hanger steak! It was cooked perfectly, and the reduction was delicious. My husband loved the spinach as well. The burrata caprese was so good, I had to double check that it was gluten free. The crostini and balsamic glaze was heavenly. I could have eaten that all day, and I don't even like bread. The creamy burrata really made it a complete bite. The pizza was tasty, and I appreciate that they had gluten free crust. But the crust was VERY THIN, almost non existent, which was actually pretty consistent with the toppings. Thin sauce, thin cheese, thin meats and veggies. The exception was the sausage and pork belly pizza. The crust and sauce and cheese were still very thin, but the meats were in large cubes? It didn't make much sense at all. The pork belly chunks weren't appetizing in that proportion. We enjoyed the dinner, overall, and the service was perfect. I'm sure we will go back again, because it was very yummy, and I need more gluten free options in my life. This is an upscale restaurant, with a variety of menu items I don't see elsewhere. The atmosphere was open and comfortable, and there is plenty of parking out back.
