We live close and have ordered five or six different meals here in less than three years. I really want to like Un Bien but it just isn't all that impressive for the price. No trying to throw anyone under the bus but several times I've seen them let non-workers in the back door and hang out in the kitchen. It was clear that these were friends but as a former food service worker that is a red flag, these are just randoms in a public serving kitchen and a clear health code violation. On top of this the food is very inconsistent slow and the portions are tiny compared to their competition in town that offers the same or similar style food. Also the ambiance is not to our liking. The tables are always sticky and messy and just not a very nice place to eat. We gave this place plenty of chances but will drive to another neighborhood by a lake to get a way better experience and tastier food. I really don't understand the big deal with this place but to each their own I guess. I wish them luck and hope they can improve but from all the five stars they seem to be doing it for some people.

The chicken thigh is a 1/5. Every other sandwich is a 5/5. I think they use the worst cut of the chicken, so every bite is filled with tendons and genuinely inedible. However, I have been here a few times before and have loved the flavor.

Nut allergy friendly: No dishes contain nuts! Order - to - Sandwich: Anywhere from 6-13 minutes with 7 people in front of me. They usually call names in sets of 4 so if you get unlucky you might miss a set. Seating is covered patio style with benches. There are enough seats for around 35 people probably. Parking is not too bad in the neighborhood nearby. I went halves with a friend to try: #1 Caribbean Roast (3.5/5): It was a nice sandwich, but I had a very dry end of pork shoulder in my sandwich that absolutely ruined the texture. The good parts were good, though. #2 The Press (4.5/5): Full of flavor, perfectly balanced with cheese and onion. I'd give this a 5/5 if it had arugula. Both sandwiches were very nicely toasted and ended up real messy to eat with the caramelized onions. Overall, a very different type of sandwich that is definitely worth a stop or short drive up from downtown.

DO NOT GO IF YOU HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS - I have severe food allergies, so I asked for an ingredient list of the marinade and they were not able to provide it. After this, I asked if it would be possible to clear that a meal was allergen free if I gave her a list. No one in the establishment knew the ingredients of any of the dishes at the restaurant. It was super disappointing as the food looked great and I drove 30 minutes to try it. Save your time though if you’re in a similar position.

I am a big fan of their Caribbean Roast Sandwich. I very much so enjoy the packaging between the buns and the even smear of sauce on the inside with mounds of pork shoulder. However, be warned, it will get messy. These sandwiches are packed to the brim so you're definitely getting your money's worth. I also enjoy their Caribbean bowl, which is essentially the sandwich packaged with a foundation of rice. 03/17/2024 Love the food, but they seriously need to work on the packaging. My family has been regular customers, and we love everything except the way the food is wrapped or contained. The boxes are stacked on top of each other, but somehow they couldn’t stay organized and slip off so easily in the bag. All three bags of food I got yesterday were soaking wet. It finally reached my limit yesterday when I opened one of the boxes that cost almost $17 before tax and saw what is shown in the photo below; I just couldn’t accept that. The food looks so bad, and I lost all of my appetite. Again, the food has always been good, but please, please, please, the way the food is delivered/presented to customers is important too. I truly want to see this problem solved as soon as possible. 06/01/2024 I went back to Un Bien and got some food again. I'm thrilled to see that they listened to customer feedback and upgraded their containers to a much better quality. The amount of food is now more sufficient, and as always, it tastes AMAZING. Kudos to Un Bien for making these positive changes!

this sandwich was highly impressive as the main part of the sandwich, it was pretty necessary that the pork be cooked to near-perfection, and i have to say it was here it gave off a deep, brown-ish color, which showed the extent of it's cooking and marination. It wasn't quite incredibly tender, but the marinade added an absolute ton of flavor. more importantly, it was present plentifully throughout the sandwich, so practically every bite came filled with pork I also have to mention how packed together the ingredients are between the buns. when you start eating, it's inevitable that a quarter of the ingredients will fall onto the wrap below, leaving a nice secondary meal to finish off after the sandwich is done. the sandwich is packed incredibly tight during the wrapping process, but it unravels a bit while eating. for me, the major highlights of this meal was the onions and the aioli Starting with the onions, these may be the best I've ever had on a sandwich. They're caramelized amazingly, placed onto the sandwich in astoundingly large pieces, are crunchy, and there's just a lot of them. They're just wonderful both texturally and taste-wise. This sandwich is absolutely lathered with aioli - practically dripping with it. This boosted the overall flavor so much, especially because this aioli was addictingly good. In my experience, the amount of sauce has been directly proportional to how much I enjoyed a sandwich, and when the sauce is this good - it's even on the top of the bun! - i absolutely loved it Somehow the lettuce stayed crunchy despite all the otherwise wetness going on in the sandwich. Props for that The jalapenos were great as well for that extra bit of spicy - I would've loved to have more of them while the bread was toasted well, the one downside was i thought it was pretty hard and tough, which made chewing kind of difficult. I found my jaw to be pretty tired at the end after eating this. I would've much preferred a softer roll that's easier to bite into I've had similar sandwiches from Paseo and Bongos, and in my opinion this does edge out both of those Comparing to Paseo, the sandwich there has way more oil, making it more sloppy and I do like the bread there a lot better, but the pork feels richer and better marinated here (although less fatty), and the onions are definitely caramelized better here as well. Bongos has a pretty similar level of pork with more, but onions are definitely a step down What moves this place above those two for me is the amount of aioli used here far exceeds those other places, which just makes the overall eating experience better For the price (about 14 dollars) this is a really filling meal Overall, the best of the pork sandwiches and a near-perfect masterpiece. 9.5/10

I ordered the grilled chicken breast entrée. The chicken was inedible and I had to throw it away. It was sliced and pounded so thin, then cooked at a heat beyond what that meat can take. It was like bad teriyaki but made with beef jerky. I was so excited to come here and try a place that had been recommended to me. Bad first attempt. If your looking for better chicken cheaper and consistent go to Bongos by greenlake. Based on reviews here, I honestly think whoever was working that night, gave me a bad dish on purpose. Like i didn't tip enough or something. Sadly I could've had many people eating here because I love sharing good food with good people. That's what is all about.

From the moment I stepped into Un Bien, I was transported from the bustling streets of Seattle to a Caribbean paradise. They serve really good Cuban food here, something that's extremely hard for me to find in seattle. Their meats are delicious, the food is fast and hot, large portions. Pretty much I only order yummy food to go, but they do have a small outdoor dining area with picnic tables. The waitress was so nice! I will be back. I hope they never close.

I finally checked out Un Bien in Seattle, and I'm so glad I did! While I'm not usually a sandwich enthusiast, their pork sandwich won me over. The pork was perfectly roasted and incredibly juicy, sandwiched between delicious bread. The authentic Caribbean and Latino flavors took me on a culinary journey. The friendly staff made the experience even better. Un Bien is a gem for sandwich lovers and skeptics alike – a must-try in Seattle!

recently moved to Seattle and the #1 was the most flavorful meal I’ve had since moving. will 100% be going back! 3 month update: even after trying other alternatives, un bien still blows the competition out of the water! best sandwiches in seattle.

Really tasty, juicy sandwhich. A little too sweet for me though, with less sugar and mor jalapenos it could be amazing.
